2 Q: Is there a way to change the Status notification bar? How can I use SuperSU? - Redmi Note 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I am using a redmi note 2 with the xiaomi.eu Rom 5.11.1
I would like to know if there is a way to change the Status Bar or make it at least bigger. The icons are really very tiny and I don't like that. Whatsapp is only a green square with the whatsapp logo. But its so small, that it just looks like a point. And other green symbols with any icon look the same. I don't want to flash a complete new Rom
And my second question
I don't like the Root access option of the security app. It is annoying, that i always first have to open the security app and activate the root access for any app manually. So I would like to have SuperUser. Is that possible?
Thanks in advance

1. I don't know
2. Install SuperSU from PlayStore and give it root permissions. Then open it. It will ask you to install the SuperSU binary. Use the normal method when it ask you.

To better understand lite'ning 1.5

Hi all, I've installed this rom and I need to understand:
1) Am I already "rooted" or have I to root the GS2 through Odine/SuperOneClick?
2) If I have to root, after finishing the whole procedure (insecure+root) have I to re-install lite'ning 1.5 or stock XXKF2?
3) I've seen in my applications both CWM and Superuser, but Superuser can only allow or not CWM, nothing else
4) in applications list, if I tap left to home, no option appear, how can I uninstall applications?
5) the applications can only scroll up-down, how to set the scroll right-left?
1) between the features on the first release it say "*New lockscreen wallpaper" but if I try to change it I can see only the options of my original firmware...why? how can I change this image?
I know these are simple and random questions but I'm really new on this world, thans for your patioence too.

1. the dsp manager is a feature unique to cyanogenmod, so dont think you can. However you can always try installing it. DL any rom with dsp manager, view the contents via windows explorer, go to system > app> copy the dspmanager.apk. install it. try normal installation first, if that doesnt work, try the process involving changin the root permissions.
2. err, what bar?
3. the ics theme, in the market, is again for cyanogenmod users. However you CAN dl the complete ICS launcher.
4. i dunno

flashing the clean version of stock ROM of pfonck you can get rid of the status bar and a lot of more things
For tha annoying bar, replace the 'squishinput.apk' in /system/app by the one in pfonck's rom. Then set the right permissions with root explorer (check it b4 replacing), reboot and you are done.
Question: does anyone got flashplayer working on eclair's roms?

[Q] Editing Build.prop Help Needed

Hi everyone, i'm new here, and already have a question for guys:
I have the BQ Maxwell Plus: bqreaders.com/gb/products/maxwell-plus.html
It has Android 4.1.2 and is not rooted, it has the official 4.1.2 update although it came with 4.0.4.
I want to remove the navigation bar because it takes alot of space in games (Witch i play alot, example: MCPE, Star Legends, Call Of Mini: Zombies, Etc...), so here's what i did:
*1: I downloaded a soft key app: Button Savior.
*2: I enabled the ''up to root'' option on ES explorer and went to /System.
*3: I openned Build.prop and scrolled all the way down to the bottom where there was a line that was empty.
*4: I wrotte qemu.hw.mainkeys=1 in a NEW line, UNDER the empty line.
*5: I saved, and turned of my tablet (BQ Maxwell Plus).
*6: I turned it on and it was exactly the same,
*7: I went to check the Build.prop and it was normal, without the line i wrotte to hide the navigation bar.
Anyone help? i posted a picture of some steps... (They're the numbers in red).
Am i doing something wrong?
Thx in advance :silly:
For Editing a Build.prop your device must be in Rooted condition and it required of bussybox installed on your device. If not you got failed.. like you did

No because i don't want to waste my warranty, but i can, there's even a blog created by people from here (Portugal) with a tutorial showing how to root the BQ Maxwell Plus.. If there was like some app that made like, other apps that require root think i have root access or something, but thats impossible :silly:
Never mind rooted it using a chinese vroot app, after rebooting i switched to supersu and instelled fullscreen app and screencast and busybox, titanium backup, u know, all that good stuff

Android 6.0 & weird notification icons

On my Honor 7 and android 5.0, I had transparent notification icons. I updated to 6.0 a while ago, they're not transparent anymore (and they have colors). I want the old icons back, any way to get those?
No, on Marshmallow update you have to stick with those colorful icons only, but if you are rooted and want to remove the box like background from a icon, then follow these steps:
Download any Root Explorer from Play Store.
Navigate to /system/themes.
Delete file named icons.hwt.
You'll get rid of your icon backgrounds.

Or, you can always rollback to Lollipop if you don't want colored icons.

[MOD|Flashable] ZTE Theme Store

Introduction:
As we all know, the A2017U, and G come bundled with a few themes and that's it. Well, the Axon 7, Chinese variant, not only includes more, but also a theme store that you can download from. This thread contains packages from the Chinese ROM that will enable your phone to use the theme store with a small caveat--you have to register for a ZTE Account (more on that below) and log in to it in order to download themes. ZTE's theme engine is pretty basic and doesn't really allow for much customization, but anything is a welcome addition to what we currently have.
What ZTE's theme solution does:
-Changes Icons
-Changes wallpaper
-Basic color schemes for settings, and some ZTE apps
-Changes Lockscreen appearance
Procedure
First, you'll need to register an account here. It is all in Chinese, so I would suggest using Google Translate so that you can understand what you're doing. You'll need to click the "email registered" tab because registering with your phone number will not work. Once you have registered and validated your account, you can use it to log in to the theme store on your phone and begin downloading themes.
Current issues
ZTE's dynamic lock screen doesn't allow you to swipe to unlock your phone when you have notifications and they're visible. What you'll need to do is to tap the "bell" icon to hide your notifications in order to swipe to unlock. Fingerprints bypass this. I'm sure someone talented can decompile the two lock screen apps and figure out how to change this. I won't be doing it.
Download: ZTE-A2017-ThemeStoreMOD-by-freeza_DrakenFX
This flashable will include the following:
ZTE Account
Theme Store
Lock Screen Framework
ZTE Lock Now
app permissions whitelist so these apps should automatically be granted the proper permissions
Thanks
DrakenFX for being awesome, giving me the idea to try this, and giving me the ZTE Account registration link.
Great work! I know this a stretch but wondering if this works on LOS or RR?
EDIT: Finally tried it on RR. It didn't work. Guess it's only for stock atm.
So this way you can get the stock theme on the European model?

I guess there isn't a stock theme in there, but maybe there is. Could someone confirm?
All I want is a ZIP that gives me a dark theme for apps like Settings. I don't really want to install all this just to get access to a theme store that may or may not have a dark theme. If anybody spots one in there and can make a ZIP out of it, I'll be eternally grateful.
Sorry for the noob question, but how do I install this?
@freeza, is this a lock screen, could you share the theme name to download.
@freeza it's ok on A2017U 7.0, but seem not work well on A2017U 7.1.1 .
@freeza
How to flash this on stock 7.1.1
with twrp as mount system as read only??
Or
With stock recovery
Should i need root or not
Also should i disable system write protection
I flashed this once in twrp as mount system as read-only but after flashing device stay in in the warning screen like forever

Were you rooted? or which variant are you? IF you can give a little more info, it wont be so hard to help
I registered with email, but logging in, in the app, only allows logging in with a phone number. What?
Edit: Nevermind, tapping "others" in the bottom left allows logging in by email.
Edit 2: And am I just doing something wrong, or do the icon packs not work? I thought it might just be an issue with Nova Launcher, but the icon themes don't seem to work on the stock launcher either.
Edit 3: I just noticed there's an app called Screen Lock installed now (which does exactly what it's name says) did that come as a part of this installer?

Nope,
After I applied the theme
- Lockscreen is applied for a few second, then be replace again by stock android lockscreen (not ZTE lockscreen)
- The quick setting panel not change color follow the theme, even the setting did

Is there any black theme so we can make good use of the amoled screen or not?
Thanks
Is there a way to uninstall after flashing? I only installed it to see if I could figure out where the image for the clear view background (for axon 7 clearview windowed case) is stored. It didn't help me figure it out, so I was wondering if I can uninstall it. Thanks.

There's other ways, Im just not sure what's in the zip. You can check what's in the zip, what gets flashed to your system and then use root explorer or something similar to manually delete the apk/files that were flashed. Be careful though. Definitely backup before you do that.
