Smartphones where LCD and Digitizer aren't fused together? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi XDA Developers
Last week I cracked the Screen of my LG Optimus G Pro ....
I found an excellent tutorial for the replacement here in the forum, so I ordered a Digitizer today.
In the tutorial it is mentioned that the LG G Pro LCD isn't fused together with the Digitizer! That was kinda surprising for me.
Since I tried to change the Digitizer of a LG G2 and the LCD and Digitizer were fused together, I failed and damaged the LCD.
So my question is:
Do you guys know other (latest) smartphones, where the LCD and Digitizer are NOT fused together?
Thanks in advance. Best Regards

[Q] Broken glass - what to buy?

Hello,
Today my RAZR fell down from a quite high distance and the screen (just glass) is cracked... The phone, however, responds to every touch and all the images are displayed correctly. I've got some questions: What is necessary to buy to repair that glass? Do I have to buy the lens with LCD, with digitizer or flex cable...? I don't know anything about this... Are these cheaply-priced products on ebay fake or original?? e.g. ebay.com/itm/Touch-Screen-Digitizer-Glass-Lens-For-Motorola-Spyder-Droid-RAZR-XT910-XT912-/171035206060?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item27d27e21ac

Replacement LCD/Digitizer NO GLASS

My fellow XDA Members I have searched to the ends of the earth, at least the internet as I'm landlocked in Colorado, for a replacement LCD for the Galaxy S3. Just the LCD without the glass. If anybody out there knows where I can purchase just the LCD with Digitizer and NO GLASS I'd be forever grateful?
If you're wondering why I want just the LCD, it's a matter of simple economics. I'm not willing to pay anywhere from $105-$200 for an LCD with the glass attached when I know the LCD alone wholesale for around under $60. I'm also perfectly capable of attaching glass to said LCD without any trouble.
And for those of you that don't believe that you cannot remove the glass from the LCD, you are wrong. Just requires patience and consistent heat around 80°C. And yes, you can indeed destroy the LCD completely if you don't know what you're doing. Out of the 14 I've replaced, I've broken 1. Thinking it was a knock-off S3 though.
Thanks for your assistance fellow members.

I change glass on GS3, Really possible remove the glass from the LCD, you are right! But I never seen LCD without glass, only LCD with Glass or only just the glass I don't understand why.
Just trying to get the lcd assembled cheaper is all. I have searched and searched, I've found the just LCD for the Galaxy S, S2, the Mega, and Note 1-3, but not for the S3 It is truly a cheaper alternative assembling the glass and LCD on your own.

[Q] Digitizer Replacement Questions!

Hello all. I recently bought an LG Optimus G E970 from a friend who was switching carriers. I dropped it within the first 30 minutes and broke the digitizer. Half of it works and the LCD is in perfect condition. However i've never done a digitizer replacement. Only an LCD/Digitizer replacement which came all in one already put together. I'm wondering what type of adhesive i should use to get the digitizer to seal properly to the LCD. Something like UV LOCA? I saw one video where one guy covers the entire LCD in adhesive and one where he just puts some dabs on the corners. Quite honestly i'm confused in which way is proper.
Thanks in advance,
Ron.

LG G5 broken glass

Hi all,
Recently I had an accident in which my G5 was dropped and the glass shattered. The good thing is the glass broke only in the upper area around sensors, and the display area is just cracked so I can use the phone.
Now, the situation is that I am in Indonesia currently, where the G5 SE is sold, not regular G5 which I have. I went to the service center and they told me the spare parts are not the same which is real surprise for me, because I thought the only difference is in the processor, not external hardware differences.
I checked in some regular phone service stores and they also say they can't get the part.
I would like to order it, but wouldn't like some knock-off screen with bad colors from ebay, so I would like your suggestion how to solve this issue the best way, because I won't be going to Europe till New year. So can I order from LG somehow?
Also, is it possible to replace the glass only because the LCD is working fine? They told me it's glued together so you have to replace the whole LCD.
Thank you.
Regards,
It dont look easy to split glass and lcd. Take a look here https://youtu.be/bS9mtqfGTGI
I am happy to see the screen is glued now and not with tape like it was on g3, becuse on g3 the tape failed and glass started to fell of by itself.

[Help] Broken screen glass

Hi guys, my Redmi Note 4 Global (snapdragon) fell off and the glass of the screen has been broken. The touchscreen works fine, my question is: Do I need to change the glass or glass+lcd?
I am from Argentina and there aren't replacement parts here for the phone. So... could you please give me some link from amazon (Europe) with the part that I should buy to replace?
Thank you guys, and sorry for my english.
A digitizer replacement would be fine, but that is way too hard. I would recommend you to change the lcd panel
I was able to find this.
