No flash option for Camera after the New Oxygen 2.1.2 Update - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Did any one noticed there is no flash turn on or off option in camera after the new oxygen 2.1.2 update. I tried everything in camera settings. But couldnt find it. Flash option is available under video and slow motion category. But no option for flash while clicking photos. It only shows the timer icon.
How to click photos in low light or during night.

Turn of all beauty/hdr/other I can't remember options. With any of them turned on flash will not work and flash options will not be visible.

reply;
there are two ways to get back ur flash
1. can clear data of camera app
2.u can disable the beauty option in ur camra

Thank you ... It solved my problem

I know I'm a little bit late but probably you guys are using the camera in manual mode - it doesn't support flash atm - also, as said above, turn off hdr, beauty mode etc.
That should do it

[q] x10 auto flash

how can I get the Led flash working as auto flash for the camera and the video , I mean in the dark it automatically flashes when you take pics or record videos
thanks
If you use the vignette camera app it auto flashes, but it's kinda pointless honestly. The led flash isn't bright enough to .

Auto flash is not yet properly implemented its Android limitation. And Vignette one is also useless as its not making any difference. Only way is to switch on photo light before taking pic

[Q] Xperia S Camera(Photo) choppy

Hi Guys,
Just got an Xperia S. I have an issue with the camera. The video is very choppy when taking a picture. Its like I'm shooting the picture in night mode(And I'm not). All settings are default.
Now when i record video its perfect.
Its kind of hard to explain so I've made a video of it which is attached.
Just like to mention that in the camera settings my "Focus mode" setting is greyed out when in the photo mode.(Don't know if this is significant.
My exposure is set to 0. If i bring it all the way down to -2 image isn't choppy anymore but it becomes way too dark.
Anyone else having this issue? Any idea if this is an issue or is the camera like this?
Would it be possible to delete the camera app and reinstall it?
Thanks in advance

Did you try changing the capturing mode to scene recognition if it exhibits the same?

Yeah tried that still same issue.
Update: When I'm in sunlight its fine. Its only when I'm indoors/low light that this happens even though the setting is set to manual and not automatic.
Can you post some pictures taken with the phone showing your problem?
Edit: nvm, I thought he meant photo quality since the thread title implies this, but he means video.
mines the same :S also when i press down the camera button during standby it'll take a pic, but when i do it with the home screen on, it doesnt take one...anyone got the same problem?

No i mean the photo quality. When I'm in the camera app its very choppy. Ive returned the phone and waiting on a new unit so i don't have any pictures i took indoors on me but heres 1 which were taken outside. Even in daylight theres a sort of haze.

Are you using a transparent casing? I have a transparent casing on mine and the flash reflects off it into the lens. Just remove the casing and it will be ok, or shoot without flash.

When it is dark, the phone automatically slows shutter speed to increase light to the sensor. This causes the choppiness. This is the disadvantage of a camera phone vs normal camera where you can control the shutter speed.
On the night mode taking shot is always slow. But the pics can be great.
But the above pic shows it may be a problem with the hardware.
I had the same problem but I solved it, by wiping it!! I just had some smoo on the lense is all make sure it's clean

Why is my camera flash setting grayed out?

I just noticed that the flash setting Serena to be grayed out no matter what I do. How can I turn on the flash?
Feature disabled
The flash feature is disabled in some Camera modes !
Try to use a different mode .
Finally realized that the front camera was on, not the rear camera. When I swapped cameras, everything behaved like I expected again.

Questions regarding pixel experience

I flashed the last pixel experience today and im facing some issues and have some questions:
1) The rom doesnt have built-in compass or voice recorder?
2) My rear camera is "yellow" depending on where im focusing and the light conditions (its not a normal yellow)
3) Portrait mode isnt working on rear camera (it only takes 1 shot and its with bad quality and not portrait mode), the front works ok
4) Can i use an app like fingerprint gesture to lock the phone? (i tried but need to set fpgestures as administrator, and when try to unlock with fingerprint the phone asks the pattern because an administrator have locked the phone)
Thanks!

1. You can download some apps on Play Store for compass and sound recorder.
2. Maybe it has something to do with auto white balance. If them, try installing, GCam mod by BSG. Although you need to remove the stock cam first vua root before trying to install the GCam mod.
3. Portrait mode only works on humans.
4. No idea on this one.
Hope it helps.
Thanks! I rooted the phone and got rid of "4)" problem. How I can unninstall stock gcam and install another? I (the gcam post here in xda says you need to be on miui rom to use gcam port, it will work on pixel experience?

The pixel experience should have gcam as its default. Clear cache, clear data, reset to first install. See if that works. If not I don't see any reason why the gcam port won't work. I know people are using it on other ROMs like Havoc and Nitrogen. At least, I think I read that at some point.

GCam

Anybody found a good GCam and config file for this phone yet. I'm using GCam_7.3.018_Urnyx05-v1.6 with the lg-g8sx-th config file and it's pretty decent but wondering if there's a better more compatible version.

I've been wondering how gcam works before pulling the trigger. Do you mind elaborating on "pretty decent"? What all works? I like the phone's camera, but I've seen instances in reviews where in auto mode it overexposes the highlights. I'd like a functioning gcam mod for when I don't want to go into manual mode

Sure, I'm by no mean a photo person and everybody have their preferences as far as photo goes but I found that with GCam the colors are more accurate and lighting and exposures looks better in most shots for me.
Downside with this particular version is that some features will crash the app still when you try to use it such as Nightsight and Portrait. It's a hit or miss and I find myself using the default camera app half the time, especially for video. The search continues.
I use a release by Pitbull that works fairly well. The bugs currently are no 4k or 60fps video recording, no video at all on wide lens (without clearing cache first), but no bugs I've found in selfies, portrait mode, or night sight mode. If you toggle the 4k button in the pulldown, the app will crash and no longer open causing you to clear data in storage and perform setup again, same with choosing Camera 3. Latest release does have support for configs though. In settings, sabre has to always be off. If it's on, all photos will crash. Also the option "disable openGL preview" needs to be toggled on to allow night sight to work properly under fixes.
https://f.celsoazevedo.com/file/cfiles/gcm1/MGC_7.4.104_V0a_Pit.v.1.6.apk
In the screenshots, I circled the important settings. The first one is in main settings screen, the second is under fix settings screen. With these settings, and not choosing 4k or camera 3, app works great, especially photos. If you like gcam for pictures, you will like this one.

Hi, thank you for your recommendation, I just got my new LG v60 and your apk and Screenshot helped me get it working well, I wonder if you have a new version or any new updates on this Gcam for Lg V60
Thanks again.
To the top - trying to see if anyone has had any luck finding something that works decent.
I have tried the 8.x versions from Wichaya, Urnyx, with and without the LG G8(x) configs, to no avail.
The issues range from images saved as a corrupt file, to random blotches of red appearing in the photos, viewfinder getting locked when in Night Sight, and 0.5x camera not being there altogether.
The same thing. A lot of Gcam mods are kind of working on V60 but weird colours here and there is the problem Can't find properly working Gcam mod too.
来自中国的玩家感谢你的分享
Is anyone using any working Gcams for the V60 with configs? I would mainly use it for the front camera.
TIA
