Sensors problem - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, just bought OPX and updated to 2.1.2
I use Google Sky Map but the position of the stars are not correct, even if i turn the phone.
i read there is the same problem on OP1, anyone has this problem and confirm is a compass/gyroscope/othersensor calibration problem? thanks

May be its a lollipop bug, but i cant say for sure!
Opx does showed wrong positions!
It shows the position incorrect, but while using photospher from google camera, all sensors work fine,
I have tried google sky map in 2 different devices running lollipop, and it didnt work well for them,
But when one of the device downgraded to kitkat, it worked perfectly!

Google Maps compass arrow doesn't turn

Hi!
I recently installed the Google Maps version 4.1.1 for Windows Mobile.
Everything works fine so far except the compass. The arrow always points to the north and doesn't move, no matter which direction I am facing.
Is this a known issue? Is it possible to make it work correctly anyhow?
Thank you to all people who are trying to solve this problem!

Sensors not present

Hi all,
This is my first thread... I've looked every forum, every existing thread looking for an explanation / solution, with no luck at all... I hope somebody has experienced this with its prime and found a solution, because I'm thinking in RMA it...
The thing is that my sensors stopped working! No accelerometer, no magnetometer. The screen rotates itself to portrait mode when an app asks for it, but it stays that way when exiting the app. I have to go to Settings -> Display to uncheck and check Autorotation to go back to landscape mode. This is annoying! I installed an app called Elixir 2 and in the sensors page only the microphone is listed as present. Every other sensor is displayed as not present.
I noticed it two weeks ago, but I wanted to look for a solution instead of getting it replaced. I think it came with a .15 and it was updated to .21 in the first connection to Internet. I waited for the .28 to be released just in case it fixed the problem, but it did nothing, still has the problem.
By the way, I tried a cold boot and a factory reset... still nothing.
If I can have any word from anyone I will be pleased!
Thank you!
PS: forgive my english, I'm from Spain
Get the app called elixir2. its free. Kirk show u detailed info on everything, including sensors. itll show real time info on them. allows u to cut them off n on or reset them. it might help.

Well, that's exactly what I did! I said it before It just shows an X beside every sensor and under them it says something like "not present" (I don't have the Prime here right now). In that sensors page the only one that is shown as working is the microphone.
Any idea?
Thank you anyway!

Here's a snapshot of the Elixir2 sensors' page.
Hi, I cannot suggest anything new to try.
Today I noticed some of my sensors were not working, tried playing Riptide and found I could not turn. Also tried a level app and found that the orientation was not being detected. My problem was fixed by powering off then turning on again. I did not try elixir2 before the power off, therefore could not say if my prime was in a similar state.
Good luck in getting your prime going again.
Cheers stv

Well, at least someone experienced the same... even with a reset I can't make it work. Is there any "ultra-reset" I can do?
Before .28 I get the same issue.
Sensor can restart after a reboot or a cold start, but after I plug on the dock or after a deep sleep, the sensor stop.
Sometime, after a restart the sensor was not recognized. I use elixir also to check.
Now with .28, the sensor work well.

Did you update to .28 over wifi or using a microSD?
Thank you!
Update done through Microsd.
I have tweaked buil.prop on .21 and result Fota didn't work.
Think also to make a cold reboot and clear cache of all application (can be done with elixir).

demandrin - off topic, do you know where I may be able to get the circiut board that has the microsd slot and the touch screen sensor connectors. I accidentally damaged the connectors and now I can only use the tablet with the keyboard dock as a mini laptop. I emailed Asus but they would not sell me the part. I wonder if Gary would be nice enough to sell me the part.
Is HP the only company that sells parts to customers (I love HP for that reason LOL!!)

An update with my problem: I finally installed the .28 through SD card, having wiped all the data first, and the result is the same: no sensors are present. No autorotation, no compass, no auto-brightness. Elixir shows only the microphone as one of the sensors, everything else is shown as "not available" (as shown on my previous snapshot).
Any help?
Thank you!

And yesterday, with no reason at all, ALL of my sensors (accels, gyro, magnet field, etc.) started working again. I just powered the tablet on and voilĂ , everything was perfect! Elixir showed all the sensors up and running!
I think this post can be closed now... I hope it doesn't happen again!

Fingerprint - software or hardware issue?

Hi
I ordered Le Max 2 few days ago from Aliexpress(Trendresources LTD). However, I got concerned, after I read on xda and le forum about it problems with fp sensor. Could you tell me, is fingerprint sensor a software issue or unfortunately hardware and it can be fixed only by replacing dead sensor?
First of all, wait until your phone arrives and then we can talk.
Mine came with the fp sensor not working. I managed to make it work by flashing stock rom. First receive it and see how it is. Already the latest firmware 016s has huge improvements in fp recognition, so I believe it will improve even more.
When I first got my phone, I was so disappointed by the fp senor and not having Ota, but after updating to 5.8, all was solved.
Can't really complain. The phone is so fast and responsive.
Ok, thanks for help guys. I really appreciate that.
Fingerprint not working
I too receive the phone yesterday unable to register fingerprint, in the FP setup page it is not taking any input after touching the sensor. iam too confused requested for a replacement from the vendor, whether flashing stock rom (iam on 16s) will solve the issue.
please reply iam going nuts.
youtube link of mine trying to register FP setup is here

you are correct.
flashed the stock rom. I have clicked the update.zip in file manager and selected update option, it took around 20 minutes and after that I tried to add FP but no use, same thing repeated, I think its a hardware issue. any way to diagnose the FP using any software or app?

Reboot into recovery, select also clear data... and press Update and reflash. When you boot into system, before you put any fingerprints, select "Calibrate fingerprint sensor".
I tried to update from recovery but I got a weird error saying 'unable to update, cause: apk not found' I searched google but nothing found. Is the update.zip file case sensitive. I renamed it to 'update.zip' not 'Update.zip'. is it OK.
One more thing after update I tried to skip the WiFi connection but this popped up
image
and I am not able to skip the WiFi connection. Letv is going in apple way
I also calibrated before touching the FPScanner but no use.
same for me.
the sensor does not work or more.
I have a 2 lemax x822.
the sensor works two days with the Roma CM13 19s, and then the third day nothing.
I returned to stock rom 17s, but it still did not work.
I passed the fourth day in the 19s CM13 ROM, and miracle, it works.
but alas today he no longer works again. impossible to calibrate and add a fingerprint.
I try Roma umbrella corps 18s / 19s, but the sensor does not work either.
it gets annoying.
problem of software or hardware?

I have the same problem. This problem of hardware.
@bahuy2003 thank you for the answer.
it's a shame to have problems with such a good phone equipment rating. especially when it is new for 5 days.
I will have to assert the warranty on the spemall.com site.
hoping that not too long to repair it and well repaired.
I use my max2 without fingerprints. Many people sent their mobiles to warranty, but they were waiting for months for them.
I too having fp problem, anyone have solution please tell.
I too have same problem moreover camera continuously clicking picture.

Must be at least partially software
I've tried stock ROMs and am currently running the pseudo CM based on a stock 18 kernel.
Finger print unlock isn't consistent: Sometimes the phone doesn't react for a long time (seconds), sometimes unlock is instantaneous.
Proper training is certainly important to get instantenous responses at all (don't move fingers during training, tap and wait for the vibration confirmation).
Sometimes I resort to clicking the power button and then do a finger-print to unlock, sometimes I just use the pattern to unlock, although that's very rare.
However last night I had a strange experience:
The phone was suddenly receiving fake inputs from the soft buttons, switching between applications without me touching anything and eventually all soft buttons went dead. Touch screen was still perfect, but finger print unlock was also dead, had to use the unlock pattern.
After a reboot (cold) everything was back to normal.
Whatever firmware is running to deal with the fingerprint sensor and the soft buttons (I assume this isn't running on the main cores), seems to be buggy, perhaps leaking memory and requires a restart occasionally.
My guess is that this would take automated testing to fix and I doubt Le Eco is doing that. Actually I guess the code would actually have to come from the hardware vendor for the fingerprint sensor and perhaps Le Eco doesn't have a current version.
Really professional quality is hard to get these days, even in flagship devices costing four times as much as Le Max 2.

Sensor Issue

Hi, I got my Mi 3 this week. I noticed some weird behavior from my magnetometer and Accelerometer, wondering if anybody else is experiencing the same. After a day of use, sensors go haywire and suddenly stop reporting data. Can't use compass and my auto rotate stops working. I tried different apps to see if it's a global problem or just a not compatible app, so far when sensors go blank, the effect is global. Even the Mi self test is not reading anything from the sensors. Pedometer is on the other hand operational tho.
Things come back to normal after a restart. I suspect it must be a software bug maybe?

My sensors are working but they are wrongly calibrated :/ and pedometer isn't working! I thought the pedometer was disactivated by default...

Dial *#*#6484#*#* it's the built-in test. U can recalibrate your accelerometer there and also test the device. Use power button to exit. And for +-45 test's of the accelerometer tilt your device on it's corners.

Thanks for the tip it works perfectly!
By the way, you are using European firmware or Global, because for me the pedometer isn't counting the steps :/

I'm glad to hear it worked for you. My pedometer comes and goes... Not reliable unfortunately. btw how can I check my ROM region? Got the October patch, It doesn't solve the bug...
I also have problems with my vibrator. It doesn't react to short vibrations (that much I can make out of it).

Well I seem to have the global version. MIXM
I hope they get problems solved fast.
If anybody else with the device is reading this post, can you please check your sensors with an appropriate app and see if yours is also malfunctioning randomly?
I had this problem, but I just restarted the device and everything came back normal

Yes! It goes away with restarting (and sometimes doesn't!!!)
But it's just a temporary fix, in matter of hours, you r back to the square one.

Well yeah, it did work actually. But the thing is, I don't like to have the touch vibrations on always, I just want it to work with G-board and some other apps that use short vibrations as a feedback...
It's like the touch vibrations setting, controls everything lol.
It's definitely a bug they have to get fixed.
So it turns out the sensor problem that I reported is being caused by the G-cam port I had installed. The solution is to close the app (in the multitasking menu !?) Whenever you are done using it.
Flash the stock rom again and your problem will be solved for sure, also faced the same issue.
I have same issue and flash stock rom but still not working how can i fix it ?
I also have a problem with compass apps. north and south are correct shown, west and east are not correct.

Redmi Note 9 Pro (Joyeuse) Raise to wake not working

So when i first got the phone this feature was working great. However, i don't know when but it had stopped working and I've just realised this. All the sensors seem to be working fine according to CIT tests, also clear data of the settings app, switched this feature is and off but no results. What else can i do? (Except for resetting)
Use the stock launcher.

Already tried that but no luck, prior to that, i received 11.0.4 update and it seemed to have worked for a coupke of days, but still doesnt work anymore
Hey man, have you resolved the raise to wake issue? My problem is similar, my redmi note 9 pro on android 11 stock launcher has the raise to wake feature that stops working every 5 days, meaning every 5 days I reboot phone for the feature to work, then after 5 days it seases to work and I have to reboot phone again for it to work and so on.
Any idea what could be the issue? Gyroscope is working fine as well as accelerometer.
Appreciate any help, i haven't rooted the phone yet, so cannot do much from shell termux...
Regards
