Kind greetings from Austria!
I've bought my Redmi 3 and it came with the german translated version preinstalled. I don't like that. I want to have the official CN/EN version so I also get the MIUI updates.
I tried installing the official MIUI 7.2 .zip File via the Updater App but the app only closes after a certain time without any error or anything else.
What do I have to do to get from german translated ROM (as delivered) to original MIUI ROM?
I've tried a search but I wasn't able to get what I really have to do now...

Are the chances high that it will not work?
Is it possible to use german language in the apps with the official CN/EN version?
Does the latest chinese stable version support english? It's built in am I right?

Install MoreLocale2 from Google Play and apps where is german would be in german language

Wasn't being sarcastic. It will work as long as the instructions are followed. And you must know that to use MiFlash is via DOWNLOAD mode (vol up + power) NOT fastboot mode. Don't ask me why is that, ask Xiaomi.

1. Do the existing notes from SNotes, Action Memo etc transfer without problems?
2. Screen off also works?

for some reason it can't read ".spd" notes.
and I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get screen off memo to work with samsung notes unless you use a ported note 7 rom.

The screen off memo is a separate feature of the Note 7 rom, not integrated in the notes apk

Works on stock AT&T Note 4 (I'm on KK). After the app finishes installing, it offers to import existing Action Memos and S-Notes, either from your device, or from copies stored in your Samsung account.
Any way to get new action memos routed to Notes instead of S Note ? Thanks.
Apparently there is an update on this but I cannot seem to update it, when I go to update I get an error saying "your phone is not compatible with this version"

Hello, guys I just found a way to activate the newly introduced google lens...... You need Custom ROM( Android 7+)
1>> open root Explorer ( use Es explorer or mix explorer)
go to /system >>data>> and open build. prop
change
2>>'ro.product.model=Redmi note 3' to 'ro.product.model=Pixel 2 XL'
3>>"ro.product.brand=Xiaomi ' to 'ro.product.brand=Google"
4>>"ro.product.manufacturer=Xiaomi" to "ro.product.manufacturer=Google"
5>> then add 'ro.opa.eligible_device=true' at the end
Then go and Download or updated Google app to latest beta
you will find the button in the right corner

i dont think they completely translate all aps from Chinese to English especially chinese bloatwear apk
Thats correct. You could uninstall almost everything in chinese except app store (at least i couldnt with uninstaller root without bootloop). Runs flawlewsly

Yes is bug. on all MIUI 10 no gps toogle. you need to open setting manually. hopefully still on they work
nb: Xiaomi's tagline " wait until you are tired"
on latest miui 10 there is toggle butoon for gps.
How did you guys flash it? TWRP? Generally MIUI doesn't work well with TWRP lol

The GPS icon got fixed in 8.6.14 ... Make sure you have that version...

@vcx77 I have this rom on my phone and now appeared an update from miui (8.6.21) about 260 mb. I'm with twrp recovery and if I download the zip file and flash it trough twrp it will erase data? Will overwrite the twrp?

9.0 0.46 is the latest beta for our model (COL-L29). But watch out, it is a pain to rollback to Oreo if you don't like it ..
BTW, don't be fooled by the installation process, we do not have sdcard slot... I personally tried through 3rd party website to update, but I rolled back few days after (lot of problem, like no compatible TWRP (no data decryption))

Indian Honor 10 have a custom Emui , you have to wait for some more time then the normal Emui users.
But good new is that Emui 9.0 is also launched for Indian Users too, you will get beta in some days . Might be between 20 to 31 Oct . For good news see this link.
