After custom rom installation, "mobile network not available" message comes up - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After custom rom installation, "mobile network not available" message comes up
Hi guys!
So, after receiving a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, I decided to root it and install a custom rom.
The custom rom is the Ditto Note 4 rom for Note 2 from the electron team website.
Everything seemed to work fine after installation, that was before I put my SIM card in. After I put my SIM card in, I couldn't take a call. When I dialled someone, a message comes up and said: "mobile network not available". Does anyone know what's wrong?
Thanks for your help in advance.

Solved "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network"

Hello Everyone, I am using Samsung Ace s5830i and since yesterday I am not able to make any calls, when I try to call a number it says "Mobile Network not available" but I can see good signal strength and I am also able to use GPRS. In the notification area it says "Emergency calls only".
I went to Settings -> mobile networks, when I try to manually select my operator(TATA Docomo, i'm from India) i get the error "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network".
I have removed the sim card, inserted in another mobile, it works fine. When I try try to insert a sim card of some other operator into ace I get the same errors listed above.
These are the things that I have tried.
1. Removed the sim card, battery inserted them back and restarted the phone
2. Restored my Nandroid backup
3. Complete factory reset
None of these worked and still I get the same error.
Information regarding the phone:
Model- Samsung Galaxy Ace s5830i rooted with CWM 5.0.2.6
Android version - 2.3.6
Mobile network type - GPRS
Network- TATA Docomo
Signal Strength - -90dBm
Service state - Out of service
Mobile network state - Disconnected
IMEI - Unknown
I have called Network provider they say fault is with the phone.
Any help would be really appreciated...

Re: Help "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network"
Just for the knowledge, what may be the reason for losing imei and does flashing stock rom retrieve my imei.
Sent from my GT-S5830i using xda app-developers app
possible reasons are many...i don't know what files did you flash? (Rom/kernel/scripts)
Cronmod script is known to have this issue...did you flash this script?
Flashing stock rom with odin will give back your imei!
What's your ROM/kernel? and what scripts did u flash?
Re: Help "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network"
I am using stock rom. No i didn't flash cronmod script. I'm not sure but i think problems started after installing Online Nandroid backup tool maybe it has installed some scripts, i'm not blaming the tool it is fanastic app to make nandroid backups.
Let me flash custom rom, hope problem goes off.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Ace GTS 5830i No mobile Network error post root

Hi Ladies & gents,
I'm new to this forum, and new to android.
Basically i was given a Samsung Galaxy ace by my brother (was on o2 network, all working fine), and i decided that i wanted to try & unlock it.
In the process, i rooted the phone successfully, and downloaded galaxy tool box, to unlock it. This was all carried out using an sd card from my pc.
After the procedure i changed sim to 3 network, and found the phone saying "no network coverage."
I checked the settings, and under mobile networks\network operators if i click on search networks, "searching flashes up for a second and thats it!
If i try select automatically it says "unable to connect to network. Try again"
The phone shows 3 out of 4 bars signal, and when i try & call someone it says "no network coverage."
Have i goofed up, as i now have a phone that works fine on wifi and everything else except to make non voip (skype etc) calls!
Please help?
Thanks in advance.
Chek your imei num.
If not there fix it with HEX EDITOR. Your network connection wiil be start.
Hit thanks if I help

[i9300][cm13-20160610-nightly] Problem to call and receive calls

These days I rooted and flashed my Samsung S3 i9300 with
- TWRP
- cm-13.0-20160610-NIGHTLY-i9300
- open_gapps-arm-6.0-stock-20160611
Before Android 4.3 I had no problems
- unlocking my SIM-card
- calling someone
- receiving calls
- sending/receicing SMS
- using Internet
- using WLAN
With CM13 it's like this
- OK unlocking my SIM-card
- FAILS calling someone
- FAILS receiving calls
- OK sending/receicing SMS
- OK using Internet
- OK using WLAN
While calling someone, the CM-Logo is displayed pulsing, but no sound is heard, and the receiving person doesn't get a tone.
While being called by someone else, he get's a normal ring tone, but on my phone I don't get any hint about being called!
Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance
Michael
Maybe the functional SMS misdirected me...
I found another strange situation, that may be the real cause:
in "Settings" in "Mobile Settings" (which is on) I can't edit any settings "Data roamin, Preferred network type", etc. They are all greyed out!
Additionally in "Network operators" only displays "Choose a network operator"
and "Preferred network typ" displays "Invalid Network Mode (-1)"
in "Settings / About phone / Status / SIM status" the "Network" is correctly set to "E-Plus" (using AldiTalk)
the "Mobile network type" is "not available"
"Roaming" is set to "Not roaming"
"Mobile network state" is "Disconntected"
Althou I can send and receive SMS
I'm really stuck... any ideas please?
Did you do a wipe before the installation?
Yes, I wiped everytime (everything without internal storage and SDcard)! I retried 3 times more with cm13, everytime with the same result!
My last try was cm12.1 & gapps5.1 and it worked right out of the box!
Had anyone else such a situation with Samsung S3 i9300 and cm13? Or did everything worked fine?

I am using the original cm13 with boeffla kernel, xposed and some other modifications but haven't experienced any problem so far. Also had used some modified cm13 roms with different settings (temasek's, rr etc) and got no problem.

network problem in my moto g2

Recently i have flashed my moto g2(XT1068) with resurection remix custom rom and i don't know for some weird reason my phone is not receiving any network. I have cheked my phone's imei number it is there and not wiped during the flashing process. My phone detects the sim perfectly but only problem is that my device shows "no service", when i try to select mobile network manually from sim management, it shows "error while seaeching the network" and when i select automatic select mobile network it shows "registered on network" without taking any second to search. My phone keeps showing "no service" in the network section. I have already tried flashing stock rom but it did't work, now You guys are my last hope. please reply to my problem. Unable to Activate Sim

Hello everyone. I just got my Pocophone today but have been having issues activating my SIM. Currently, it says that "Find device can't activate SIM card: couldn't verify phone number." Has anyone found a fix for this? Also, would this error still be present if I installed Lineage OS? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Send a hiii text message to another available working number.
1. If it fails to send message, goto customer care of your sim network.
2. If message received by another, goto Los , you won't facing this.

I have the Redmi K20 Pro and was able to fix this error. Go to Settings >> SIM cards & mobile networks >> Data roaming and set Overseas data roaming to "Always" (don't worry, this will only be for a few minutes). Let the activation services run again (you may have to repeat the activation attempt a few times), and your device should be able to activate the SIM and verify the phone number. When it's completed, you can turn the Overseas data roaming back to "Never."

Thanks! Unfortunately, even after switching to Lineage OS, I was only able to get 2G speeds. I ended up just switching to AT&T.
