Recommendation: which one is your favorite News app? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

There are so many News app for the Android OS, and the All have that one feature that makes it stand out from the rest. I'm curious to know what News app the users of XDA community enjoy using the most.
there are some famous example:
News 360: it is amazing this app is free and has no subscription cost. A flexible and smart personalization system, so that you can tailor your news however you want, by choosing the topics, sources, companies and people you want to follow
Zaker:Concise language is concise and it has offline capabilities so you can catch the news offline. You can share news with your friends through wechat, weibo, facebook etc.
Hotoday: it is also free. The interface is cool and beautiful. Aslo it has personalization system. Especially, professional workers will pull the hottest news to you by themselves. So it gets a very high score among the users.
Post what your favorite News app is, and what feature makes you use it over any other News app.
Thanks for joining in the discussion!

in my opinion, the three above are excellent representative, what's your opinion?

[APP] Spawt - A Location Bookmarking App for the Droid RAZR

Hi all, I'm a Singaporean developer and I'm here to tell you that I'm sick of idiots posting/bragging their daily life on Facebook, I mean, if you want to do that, why not do it so that I can ACTUALLY use that information next time? Thankfully, I'm a developer and I can actually do something about it.
WHAT IF, those stupid FOOD pictures taken at the restaurant actually POP UP the next time I am hungry and near that area? WHAT IF those slutty clubbing pictures could actually help me pick a club when I want to go? So here's my solution.
Spawt is a location-based experience bookmarking service so now you could actually point those idiots to the app and actually end up building a beautiful scrapbook of experiences that you and your friends can mutually share and discover.
Features
- Bookmark a great experience by creating a Checkpoint.
- Contextually discover interesting experiences from fellow Spawtters based on your current location.
* Spawt believes that your friends' experiences matter more, so your Facebook friends' Checkpoints will be treated as first class citizens.
- Builds a catalog of Checkpoints that will serve as a scrapbook of experiences for when you need an inspiration on what to do next.
- No need to create a whole new social network, leverages your existing Facebook network.
* Note, we send NOTHING back to Facebook, your privacy is MY topmost concern. (I should know, I'm a Facebook cynic.)
Download the app and tell me what you make of it, and most importantly how I can go on making it better for you and your friends. Search for "Spawt Beta" or get it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jdHJsZWZmIl0.
PS: Oh did I mention Galaxy S2 kicks ass?
PSS: Oh also, if the app does crash, and it will, please click Report so I can fix it so you can swear a little bit less when the next update comes.

Looking for an experienced developer!

Hello everybody,
We are a two member team with an application idea that we think could be useful for a lot of people. We have a list of features and a complete UI design plan. A video showing the features is also being created.
The application is intended to handle the notifications in a smarter way. To achieve that, we need a Google Chrome extension also. (Please notify us in your e-mail, whether you have already experience in developing Chrome extensions!).
With a simple and easy to use interface, this app is only intended for doing a few things, but doing those efficiently and fast.
We do not have a business, or any money. Our payment for a developer would be a % cut of the revenues, or we could try crowdfunding the idea. If it works out, we could partner up for future projects too, because we have an another app idea also (it is significantly bigger and much harder to make).
If you are interested in more details and UI design pictures, PM, or send an email to [email protected]
Please only write if you think that this idea has potential. If you have previous experience from developing an app, please include a link of that in your message.
Thank you!

Incoming - Campfire is actually legit

Hi all!
We just launched a new social media app on iOS and it's actually legit. Feedback welcome!
Since our official launch to the iOS app store, many of you have already joined us around the campfire to tell stories of your own. It’s been great seeing how creative the community is, and the general response is positive (4.8/5 avg. app store rating!). Even so, we’re still working hard to improve the platform and bring you the best experience possible.
Here’s what you can expect:
KEY UPDATES
Soundsuite:
SoundSuite lets you add a layer of audio behind your voice to make your captions even more engaging and immersive. Our idea was to help users create experiences within the caption, instead of limiting them to texts and emojis. This update expands Campfire’s core functionality in a way that truly captures the essence of Campfire, which is traditional storytelling meets modern technology. Everyone has that friend or family member that tells the best stories. They probably use descriptive language and animated gestures to convey the emotion behind the story. Our aim is to give you the option to emulate that energy by adding a layer of background audio that compliments the story being told. We’re really excited to see how creative you get with this new update.
Recording Limit Increase (20 to 30 seconds)
We heard the feedback from the community - Campfire users have a lot more to say. We want to give you ample time to get your point across, so we are increasing the recording limit to 30 seconds.
Adding Connections (Friends)
We know that sharing is caring, but sharing with friends is even better. With this update, you’ll be able to add people to your network and ensure that your stories appear on their feed.
In-App Search
This feature is pretty much essential to making your Campfire experience as seamless as possible. You’ll be able to locate whatever you’re looking for
In- App Photo Capture
You now have more options with photos you share on Campfire - upload from your camera roll, or, take the photo from within the app.
Stay tuned for more updates and feel free to try the app out and let me know what you think here!
Are you going to make a version for Android?

[Request] High quality open source spirit box app

Good evening ladies and gentlemen,
just recently, I lost a very close person in my life and my heart hurts very much.
Since I am a very spiritual and open-minded soul, I have been testing many “spirit box apps” with poorly coded interfaces, of which many if not most use pre-coded words which are randomly “spoken” to trick the user into thinking that a real spirit is “talking” through the app.
A much better approach is to not use any wordlists or pre-recorded words, but use some sort of “frequency scanner” in order to enable the user to really hear paranormal sounds and voices.
So what I kindly request with this small topic, is that an open source minded developer starts a high quality spirit box app project with a serious name on GitHub (or GitLab) and adds it to F-Droid, so that other developers can contribute and enhance the app in the long run.
Also, it would be wonderful if the high quality app (meaning: no use of pre-compiled words, possibly multi-language, high quality graphics, no ads, regular improvements and updates through F-Droid) could also get a proper labelled thread on the forum of XDA Developers, so that it can get “featured” on the main XDA website and thus gain even more attention and development momentum.
I’ll gladly contribute the German translations once app development has started.
Thank you for reading this, geeks, please let us know here who starts the awesome attempt!
