How loud is the sound? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all. I use wireless Beats with my cell phone. I always use volume modes to make my volume louder. How loud is the volume with wireless headphones and the built in speakers? Thanks

You lost me at beats...

The volume for connected devices is excellent.
The volume from the built-in speaker....not so much. It's actually one of the worst speakerphone that I've had in years.

+1 connected devices can get very loud. Its been a complaint of mine with other phones. This one tends to be louder.
The speaker at the bottom doesnt direct sound at you very well. But if you cup the bottom or put the phone down it reflects towards you and is louder. Ymmv

Auxiliary cable to my wife's car stereo is low for some reason, volume maxed on everything

XDA Headset really quiet

I am using the original XDA headset and I have the volume on the unit set up to max.
However it is really, really quiet on the headset, so much so that I have to wear phone earphones but still its almost in audible.
My question - is there any way to increase the volume further on the headset. By the way its fine when I put it on speaker, or I use the phone directly with no headset.
Any thoughts?
Primed
Silly I know, but have you checked the volume control on the chord?
Volume on XDA is at maximum
Yes the phone itself may be on the highest volume, and this is something I did when I first got my xda...
have you checked the little slider that's on the earphone cord, as even if you have it set to max it's still controlled by the slider on the cord itself. Try flipping it the other way or something...
Cheers
Anthony
low volume in the headset XDA
Is there already any solution to increase the volume? The XDA volume is already on maximum. It is good enough by quiet enviroment, but the benefit for this headset shout be to use it during driving. With the normal driving noise you can not hear anything. Please tell me any feature or software to make it possible to increase the volume for headset.
Thanks for any help
there is a volume control on the xda, and there is a volume control on the earphone wire (a slider).
however, because the xda earphones were not designed to fit into human ears, they tend to slip around and hence the sound is not directed straight into the ear, giving the impression that it is not very loud. you can check this by physically holding the earpiece in your ear and moving it around, till you hear an improvement in sound.
two solutions. You can either find a pair of the soft foam cups that wrap many earpieces. Or you can buy a converter jack for the xda, that will allow you to plug in a standard jack on some better headphones.

Headphones Too Loud

Not sure if I'm just getting old, but dang the volume seems way too loud when I try and use headphones on my GT 10.1 Wifi. Even on the lowest level. Any way to lower the default volume level for headphones?
Yes, this is a volume level software defect stupid Samsung engineers screwed up. Its mind boggling how they tested this and thought to themselves "Yes, this is good".
Going from mute to the lowest volume level is ridiculously loud in a quiet room when using either the speakers or head phones. The funny thing is going to the next 2 or 3 steps up barely increases the volume. Its all screwed up.
It really does suck and Im not sure Samsung has any plans on fixing this.

If you rooted flash a kernel that supports voodoo sound, then download voodoo control or voodoo control plus and lower the headphone amplifier.
That does not work. Voodoo control does not work to lower the volume. Yes there is an option to lower the gain on the amplifier but it does not work and its very buggy when you map the hardware volume buttons to the voodoo gain control. I tried it.

Voodoo control works for me. Rooted with Starbust UEKME and pershoot's kernel. I have custom IEMs with an input sensitivity of 119dB at 1mW. I have to set it to -55 dB on Voodoo.
ya but thats just for headphones. Does not change the speakers volume.
But it would work for the op as he was talking about headphones

For some reason I don't have this problem. I have never used lower volume then about 25%, usually it's at about 50%. BTW my hearing is just fine. I use a-JAYS Three headphones.
I think the impedance of the headphones plays a role in this. Headphones with lower impedance are louder.
Yes impedance definitely plays a role but the problem is with standard headphone impedance the volume is WAY too loud.
This is a big problem with the tab 10. Speakers play way too loud at the lowest volume setting....you hear me Samsung!! You hear me!!!!!
I just tried the built in speakers, one step up from muted and i can hear that it's playing very quietly if i hold the tablet normally. I need to put my ear next to the speaker to really hear enough to understand what song is playing.
So clearly my tablet doesn't have this problem.
On a standard UK rom here and my speakers appear to be fine, not too loud. Odd.

There is nothing odd about it. Your unit is exactly the same as ours. Different people have different hearing sensitivity. My hearing is excellent and above average so I can hear the music play too loud even on the lowest setting. Others will figure it is fine as hearing sensitivity varies.
The volume levels are simply all screwed up. You can see for yourself as turning the volume from 1 to the next 2 levels and the volume barely increases. Going from 1 to 2 almost does not even increase the volume at all. Going to 3 only increases it slightly then 4 and up increase at too high of levels to make up for the lack of volume increase going from 1 - 2 and 2 - 3. The levels are all screwed up. Horrible job by samsung.
I also have this issue!! The volume can' t be changed when using headphones and the volume is too loud for normal use
You can buy headphones with a volume control or a in-line volume control adapter for headphones but that still does not resolve the issue for the output to the speakers.

Speaker Buzzing When listen songs at very low sound!

I often listen songs with the minimalist sound at night...I'm experiencing buzzing sound from the speaker when I listen at the lowest sound on PowerAMP. I'm also experiencing it on the stock music player also...Do you guys also having it or just me?

What do yo mean? :O
Do you hear buzzing when you turn the volume up?
What's the sound quality like with the volume up?
Where is your phone sitting when you are playing music?
Does it sound the same through headphones?

No..it works fine when I turn the volume up...Sound quality is crystal clear when the volume is high...Didn't try with the headphones yet! The buzz sound is so low..I can only hear when I place the speaker just beside my ears.

Probably normal interference sound you are hearing. If you only hear it on low with the phone right at your ear, that seems most likely.
Or..........metal plate in head?
Perhaps at higher volumes the buzzing sound is cancelled out by the music? Get a can of compressed air and give it a blast, there may be a small piece of something rattling around in there (very small).
When you listen at night, is your phone plugged into the charger? If so, you may be hearing switcher noise from the battery charger. Try a different one. Just guessing.

S3 headset output low volume?

Like to check with all here, are S3 headset audio output volume consider to be on the low side?
The reason I ask this was, 2 days ago just got my car AUX line in cable replaced the L/R RCA adapter casing cracking and hollow sound immediately or after sometime of playback. The AUX cable are plugged into headset output of a Sony MW600 stereo bluetooth that connected to my S3, iPad2/new iPad.
During the diagnost by the car mechanic, he uses AUX cable directly plugged to an iPhone4, the volume come from it was much higher compare to plugged with S3 headset jack. Both iPhone4 & S3 was at max volume but can say it's around 6~10dB different or 250% volume gain with iPhone4. Never did I reliaze this different as most of the time I was using my stereo bluetooth to feed my car stereo AUX line.
Next thing I'd tried, out of convenience for MP3 playback through my car stereo I've decided to purchase a cheap China made Nano5 MP3/4 player (with camera), the one look like the long & slim old iPod Nano with small screen. Playing it through my TDK BA200 iem the SQ was mediocre and with much lesser bass than S3 or iPad3. But to my suprise, when connecting it to my car stereo, the max sound volume was even higher than eiher S3 and iPad3., not to mentioned the bass are also more punchy than the other 2.
With 2 different results,
1. S3 audio playback through TDK BA200 iem, SQ and bass are super, loud and fuller, but through my car AUX line are otherwisely low bass & volume.
2. MIC MP3 playbakc through TDK BA iem, SQ are mediocre, lower bass & volume, but through my car AUX line SQ are good, loud and good bass.
So now I am confused. Should I considered S3 headset output consider low volume? Or it was because of compatibility or impedance issues? Hope anyone good in audio experiences can explain/advice me on the S3 different audio output behaviour. Many thanks!
Btw, my car was Renault Laguna III 2.0A Turbo with original head unit and 8 Pioneer components speakers.

JJEgan,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, with normal iem Galaxy S3 headset output considered loud.
My problem was when S3 plugged into my car stereo AUX line in it was otherwisely low volume and light bass.
This is comparing S3 with made in China MP3 player, iPhone4 and the built in CD Player.
I'm still puzzling why was S3 behaved that way.
JJEgan,
Alright, by listening to your advice I've found this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722136
Thank you very much!
It really helps to solved all the hassles.
Now I no longer hunger for alternate cheap iPhone4 or iPod to use with my car stereo AUX line in.

its already loud enough, but there are ways to boost it further. either use siyah kernel (has loads of option for sound) or franco kernel and feel the difference.

its because there is a config issue on the phone. there are ways to fix it but i wouldnt use Volume+ i tried to contract the owner many times and have never had a response. its a waste of money and not fit for the job as it crashes other apps on the device.

Default.conf file can be altered a number of sound output threads on XDA can be read .
Siyah kernel has built in louder vol .

Hi, there's a program on play called 'mixget' which can increased the headphone out gain it doesn't need a rooted phone I used it on the s1 and it seems to work on the s3 under the current jellybean. I love headphones.
having the same issue as i described here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2105091
i found, without changing kernel or flashing a mod, yu can install AC!D Audio Engine from its official site, it has many audio pluging and conf like Dr.Dre Beats and it should power up/clear/bass boost your audio.
Problem
Now, I've got this very weird problem. When I plug the headphones and play a Midi using the default player (only when using the default player), the volume is low even on 15. BUT this doesn't happen when it plays any other filetype (mp3, etc...) . Also, Midis play louder (as they should) when I open them using another file explorer (ex. Es file explorer) with the default player. Does anybody know how to solve that issue? I can't find anything that can help on the net.
Awesome! Thank you!
Im getting my head round it now.
Would this be a good one to start on my i9300, as this is the main reason im looking into it.

Volume Problem
I had the same problem until I figured out I wasn't pushing the headphone jack all the way in. It's a very tight fit, but make sure you push it in all the way.
