Root with AdnroPlusKernel v10 - not work - Xperia Z4 Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, i’m flashing a custom kernel (v10) to my Sony Z4 tablet with firmware 28.0.A.8.260, but not to see the Superuser icon in your app drawer. Why does not it work?

read the thread here under Android Development
and
the documentation from Androplus
You have to flash/install SuperSU via recovery.

Ok, i can't see instruction about flash/install SuperSU via recovery. Where i may find instruction for Z4 Tablet?

Did you really read the AndroPlus Kernel thread, it's in the first post (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=62149741&postcount=1):

[Q] Rooting and Recovery Help

Hello all.....i've successfully unlocked the bootloader on my xperia s and now i need to root and install recovery. I'm confused with all the different options. I want to root, without installing another firmware, and then flash a recovery. I noticed a lot of rooting options have firmware with it. I want to be able to make a nandroid backup of my stock firmware. Can someone advise me please?
Just install a custom kernel and the rooting and recovery installation shall be done alongwith it. You can either use DooMLord's DooMKernel or the Advanced Stock with Recovery whichever you like. Next time, post your questions in the Q&A thread. This is the general discussion thread

Xperia Z2 23.1.A.1.28 root

Hi
I have Sony Z2 ,D6503 ,Build Number: 23.1.A.0.690 ,Android:5.0.2 With Root
i want to upgrade to 23.1.A.1.28 with root
Thanks
Then go into the 23.1.A.1.28 Thread and follow the guide )
Exactly. If you want a fast run down (don't do this without reading in full) flash the new zip via recovery, then using flashtool flash the stock kernal without wiping any data and with a few exceptions (can't remember which off the top of my head) but it's a simple process.
If you don't want to lose recovery in the process, reflash a zip of the dual recovery right after flashing the .28 zip.

i think you should wait for someone who make Pro-root .zip,
There is one, there's a whole thread about it.
Basically the same instructions as with the 726 zip but with the 28.
Search tool is your friend.
@egynono
Wake up please and check next time the general topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3082166
Here is a debloated (most of sony apps deleted) firmware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/rom-d650323-1-1-28-slim-edition-lb-t3105353
You don't need flashtool for this, just put it on your SD-Card, flash it and wipe cache/dalvik

Z2 5.1.1 Install Recovery

Hello Guys.
I'm pretty new to Android customizing, and my question I believe is noob one, but I couldn't find the answer yet.
So at the moment I'm running a stock 5.1.1 (23.4.A.1.264) flashed via FTF and FlashTool, the boot loader is unlocked via FlashTool as well. DRMs are lost.
Now I'm trying to find a solution to flash CWM or TWRP recovery so I'll be able to apply a DRM fix via zip install.
I've managed to successfully flash 4.4.4, apply DooMLoRD's kernel+CWM mod and installed DRM fix zip package. But cannot do the same now as there is no DooMLoRD's kernel+CWM for 5.1.1.
Could you please advise what may be the best solution here?
Thank you in advance

Follow this simple yet tedious guide to root and flash NUTs XZDR
Thank you 5ageman!
I've seen your post on how to setup the root and recovery, but it looks not that clear to me in terms of how it works under the bonnet.
At this point I tried AndroPlusKernel (v72) and TWRM 3.0 and it looks working for me - the zip is applied and any issues observed so far.
Anyway appreciate your reply and thanks for your help to beginners.

Updating to 32.2.A.0.224 (6.0.1) and keep root

So i recently updated to Marshmallow with root (using this guide hxxp://twigstechtips.blogspot.co.il/2016/04/sony-z5-compact-root-without-losing-ta.html)
And now i want to update to 32.2.A.0.224 (.....without wiping data......), but i'm not sure what exactly to do..
Here are my thoughts :
Download latest 32.2.A.0.224 FTF , extract the kernel from it and patch it (using hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/root-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605)
Download latest SuperSU, then create flashable zip (using hxxp://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/tool-prfcreator-easily-create-pre-t2859904)
flash it , and then flash the patched kernel (maybe to reflash drm keys after? )
so i'm not quite sure that's the optimized method.. if you guys can share some light on it that would be great!
(ps : sorry about the links, not sure what are the exact rules on them)
I came here for this exact question as well.

Hi. I decided to go for it because TWRP was there to revert any mistake. I just followed Twig's guide again using the 32.2.A.0.224 firmware and newest version of tools and now happily running 6.0.1 with root.
