[Q] Microbes LWP mod - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there, i loved to use the Microbes live wallpaper back in the day on my old galaxy phones.
Now i use a note 4 with a 2K display, and this microbes wallpaper is really tiny, its hard to see em move and eat the dots.
Now my question is, can i change the DPI/Resolution of the LWP alone? or does it automaticly scale to my OS's DPI/Resolution settings?
EDIT: i found a work around using this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-gltools-1-29-t2828630
You can change resolution per app and works great, also works for games to increase framerates by lowering the resolution.
PS:For the GearVR ppl out there this does not break the Oculus services like an Xposed module would.

[Q] High QUality Wallpapers

Hello,
how can I get high quality wallpaper without any blur on my HD2? I found some cabs on xda forum (high quality wallpapers cabs). Can I only install these cabs to my phone? Or I need to have some patch at first?
Many thanks
The screen's resolution is 480x800. Just google wallpaper 480x800.
If you ever try out android, there is an app called zedge which has some great wallpaper in it.
zedge.net, no need for the app.
The app lets you download and set wallpaper and ringtones so it's better than the site. Give it a try if you like Zedge's content.

I understand the resolutions....... But when Im setting the wallpaper 480 x 800 as the background, there is somtehing like blur on home screen across this wallpaper.... there is not the same quality as the whole wallpaper.
understand?
Search for HDWall. It comes with a HQ patch that allows real 480x800 wallpapers. When you set the wallpaper in Sense, it resizes it to something smaller and then resizes it again to fit the screen. I have no idea why HTC would do something so stupid, but they have.
There is no way to just set a wallpaper and keep it 480x800. Alternatively, install Co0kie's Home Tab. I believe that comes with an option to set HQ wallpaper.

[Q] change tablets resolution

I have a Tomtec excellent 8 inch tablet with screen resolution of 800x600. After some playing i saw that many games dont work very well at this resolution. sometimes i can play a game and some of the side is missing. very annoying . Dont know if its possible but might it be possible for some games to change my resolution?
If it's rooted, then you can change the dpi by using this: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.beansoft.lcd_density_changer&hl=en.
oke looks great. I have not yet rooted it but was thinking about doing that soon so im going to try this for sure
havent tried all the density change apps there are around, but it dont seem to work with the ones i tried. I cant stretch my ratio of my screen so it doesnt help.
Need an app that can make a stretch 480:800 to a 4:3 screen with 600:800

[Q] MIUI - own made wallpapers display goes way off the quality

Guys, i made my own wallpapers and reedit some original miui wallpapers with cs5 that come with themes always display off the quality. Not in HD. I use official miui.
I tried with different ppi and resolution, it look real hd if i set as desktop background on my computer. But not on my phone. The tiny line will display blur line on the phone.. It goes the same when i edit some icons too.
I wonder if theres any program or specific setting for images and icons that would display like hd for miui? Anybody guide me or point me to any program that appropriate for miui?
Thanks

[Q] CHange Pixel Density on Galaxy S2?

Hi, i have a Samsung Galaxy S2 which i would like to change the Pixel Density of. It is rooted currently, but I just want to be able to read texts clearer and play my games and watch videos more sharp and crisp.. i know there are afew apps on the android market which can do this, but if i want clear/sharpness which is the recommended pixel density(240 is the default).
Also, i need something that will work perfectly on Galaxy S2, like, not make the widgets or icons or anything out of proportion...i want things to auto fit
It's in theory impossible since our display is 480 by 800.. If you want a better display sell your SGS2 and buy a Nexus
how is it impossible? there are apps which change the density...
cant i just use a custom home screen launcher?
have a look at hyperdroid. It is MDPI compatible
There is an app that magically creates more physical pixels on you screen? Wow how much is that and could it make my hdtv into a 3D tv too?.. Serious how do you think thats possible? If you want a better pixel density buy a phone with an hd screen because you definatly cannot change it...

no.

Unless I misunderstood your question, there is no way on gods earth that you can create more pixels (ie higher density) than what there physically is.
The best you can do is to max out the screen brightness which gives the illusion of a better picture.

Of course you can change the density, just edit system/build.prop with rootexplorer..
Despite the smart answers above, I know what you mean, and love this app on my Asus TF-101
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/change-android-screen-resolution-with-lcd-density/
http://www.redmondpie.com/change-sc...android-device-with-lcd-resolution-root-only/
No need for that much complication, you just need to decrease the pixel value, well you can do that by editing build.prop or just use a simple app from market called LCD Resolution (Root).
But no, how on earth would you technically increase dpi while I9100 is given a 480x800 resolution hardware wise.
Wish that was possible and I could made my 1680x1050 monitor a HD one
why you would like do that ?
yes, i'm courious too, why?

Resolution decreased to HD - weird UI elements

Hi to all!
Well I've read some guides about how to decrease the resolution on my Z2 running latest Marshmallow Existenz ROM 5.6.5. Changed resolution to 720x1280 and system DPI to 253 (I have rather a good eyesight that is why do not mind small UI elements ).
Some apps were not satisfied with the DPI I told them to work in that is why I tailored some of them using Xposed module App Settings.
But there are some issues I could not repair :crying::
1. The bootanimation displays normally, but after some seconds only half of the screen is filled (so it says ''Xpe'' and then ''Existe''). Tried to install smaller (720x1280) bootanimation but the result is the same. I can live with that
2. The Recents' thumbnails are enormous. Even 1/5 of the app is displayed in the thumbnails. I thought initially that it is caused by SystemUI's messed settings with the DPI so I played with App Settings to repair it (both ''DPI'' and ''Screen (dp)''). Still with no luck.
Thought it might be connected somehow to Android WebView which is operating in country's local app with used stuff called Finn. There the thumbnail is also really huge, before the whole picture would fit in the thumbnails.
3. Is the suggestions/xperia menu search. The ''suggested'' apps are much bigger that the icons displayed in menu.
So it might be some scalling issue, but I have no idea which application would I need to adjust.

My phone is running Android 6.0.1, with root, with xposed modules related to UI: AppSettings, GravityBox, Xperia Home by Serajr
Any help in the matter will be appreciated! ::laugh:

No one ? - I don't believe no one really had that issue! At least say: 'Happens to me too'.
Keep it hd 1080x1920 and change DPI to 320

Thank you for your input! However it is not the solution I am looking for. I just wanted to have lower resolution for a better performance. I am I the only one who is meeting such issues?

I tried it and got the same like you.

I reduced my resolution to 540x960 and set the dpi to 240. Performance and battery life felt largely the same. Graphics were mostly unaffected except for weird glitches like the ones mentioned in the OP (walkman aka music would straight up stop working though). Text looked blurry, perhaps a subpixel rendering thing.
At the end I returned to 1080p. It was not worth tickling my OCD for little to no benefit.
Thank you for your replies! Wow Pixelado, your resolution was pretty low. Beacause no newer Xperia has that resolution, the Sony apps could cease to work. I wanted to keep something still lower yet 'compatible'.
Yes the performance is pretty much the same. Antutu did not gave a higher score, even gave a lower on CPU and higher on 3D a bit. What I noticed was after playing 3D game for around 20 mins the temperature was around 53C, before in 1080x1920 it was over 61C (in a thin rubber cover). What are your observations?
Best regards,
Vixificent
I came back to 1080p as suggested. Thanks! :good:
