Micro scratches on rear camera lens cover - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've had the V10 for almost two weeks now and noticed that there are micro scratches on the rear glass lens cover that are only visible under artificial lighting at certain angles. The phone has been babied and encased. I have noticed this on other phones I've owned and am beginning to think this is a common incident with any uncovered camera lens glass (?)

I know people have a tendency to respond with "nothing wrong with mine!" whenever someone discovers a problem with their device, but after reading your post, I put on one pair of 3X reading glasses, and another pair of 2X in front of those, and then broke out my flashlight to look at my camera lens. Honestly, I'm not seeing even a hint of scratches, and I frequently wipe my lens off in a dirty environment.(iron worker)

Thanks for the response. The scratches on mine are visible only under artificial light. Try putting it under a lamp and tilt it, rotate it, if they are there they will show. They are very fine scratches. I checked mine with a 10x magnifying glass and could not spot any scratches for the life of me.

My V10 has these micro scratches also. I am extremely careful with my devices and find this frustrating.

Scratch here also. But it doesn't get in the way of taking photos luckily.
Someone posted in one of the threads that the camera lens is only gorilla glass 2. So it's more prone to scratching.

To be honest, if I don't see it with my naked eye with a shine of light, I will consider it to be prefer, but on the safe side I have my len protected with some glass lens protector for any scratches.
You probably won't see it, but it's there.

Where can i fin d this for the v10?
Thanks in advance!

You mean these.
You can get them from taobao.cn if you live in Singapore, Hong Kong, china or macau, or you can try to contact sellers on amazon who ship stuff out of china, to see if they can get you some.

Same for me, as my Chinese isn't good.
I don't have any links, just search for sellers selling glass screen protectors who are shipping from china, message them and see if they can get some for you.

don't worry
i cannot find specific products with the query "camera lens protector v10"... just screen protectors

In another thread, (sorry, too lazy to look it up), someone cut out a circular disk, put it around the bezel of the camera glass, which in turn makes the bezel just a bit higher than the glass - offering protection to the glass lens.
I took a regular sheet of paper, laid it over the lens and bezel, taped the edges down and made an impression with my finger, rubbing and pressing the paper against the bezel and glass till it was embedded into the paper. Now I have a template and will be heading out to get a protective film and cut a few out with an Exacto Knife.
Won't take more than 15 minutes, won't cost more than a couple bucks.
I know this sounds odd to some, but I'm not able to translate Chinese, and I don't want to wait. Hope this can be an answer for some.

Great, i love the home-made solutions :good:
Can you upload the paper-template with the exact dimensions of the bezel?
Another question: the protective film over the lens make some noise in the picture? I supposed you should use a very "soft" film

I'm not capable of producing a spec for the template as I don't have the tools to measure tolerances this small ... and it's too easy to do yourself.
I don't know about soft or hard film being better or worse ... but I do know that covering any lens with any "film" isn't going to allow for as perfect a picture as without one.

thanks, i'll try in a few hours :good:

You just need a circle film a diameter of 9mm or slightly less.

Ivve tried with a piece of film i had, but the result was very bad. For a good work i think it's better to use a soft fim, like the wet-application ones.

Curved glass and screen protectors...

So tomorrow i'm getting my Lumia, and i was wondering if it was possible to apply a genric screen protector on it while i wait for the specific one i ordered. Do they actually stick on this particular curved glass screen? What should i use for the moment? I don't wanna end with this bad boy scratched in just a couple days...
Even since my Blackberry days, I have always used screen protectors. This phone represents a big departure for me from that..
I have a belt carrying case or I'll carry the phone in a sort or jacket pocket after making sure nothing else is there.
Carrying in pants pocket is out of the question..
To me the glass and the coating are part of the design of the phone and in this case the shape and texture of the naked screen is what really makes this phone stand head and shoulders above iPhone, Samsung Galaxy or any other higher end peers.
In my opinion, adding any protector in addition to
the silicone case Nokia provides would really take that advantage away and dumb the phone down..
Yeah i feel that too, but you know i'm an offroad rider and the place i live also has some quite sandy ground...i've always managed to scratch every surface i was carrying with me, even the sapphire cristal of my good old Sector watch, so i'll be always too scared to carry a phone naked, especially if it's so damn beautiful...i'm a dangerous man i guess
I bought a Nillkin screen protector and even though it works really well, the cutting is only till the border of the actual screen. It does not go till the edge where the polycarbonate body begins.
So conclusion is that it sucks. I will be interested in any other screen protector anybody has tried which can reach till all the four edges of the screen.

Use those flexible protectors like Invisishield/BestSkinsEver etc. You can stretch it while applying.
Is a screen protector needed? This phone is fitted with gorrilla glass...
i have to admit my screen gets immensely greasy - i don't think it has any kind of anti smudge coating on it. at least mine didn't - i haven't seen anybody else's one.
Every screen irrespective of it being a Gorilla or Chimpanzee needs a protector. If you have sensitive eyes you can make out minute microscopic scratches that form in an arranged fashion after 2months of use. I hate it.
I am still looking to see if there is any protector out there that can fit edge to edge. Shucks with all the technology out there people cant make a thin plastic sheet that fits a curved screen ??
Skinomi's protections cover the whole screen. I purchased one, and quite happy about it. Fits perfectly egde to edge. It's not a rigid plastic protection like the cheap chinese ones, it is flexible and bends naturally on the curve.
You can find it on Skinomi's website, thought I think it is cheaper on amazon (like $6 or $7).
Don't worry about the picture you may find (which is one of an N9 screen protection) there is only one hole for the sensor on the actual protection.
Happy to answser any questions...

Hey thanks for that tip. Is it possible even with the any camera you have to take a small pic of your phone with that protector and post it here. That will be the decisive pic for this topic.
Best shot I could get. It is almost invisible anyway.

About the installation, the protection comes with a spray. It feels a little weird to spray your phone with this solution but I found the application actually easier than with the usual "dry" protections.
Note that it will probably be scary ugly after the installation (microbubbles, haze...) but it gets better after a few hours (12 to 20 in my case) and perfect after a few days.
Honestly i wouldn't go generic, you get what you payed for. Trust me i've learned the hard way haha

Fantastic. It is truly invisible and sits neatly edge to edge. I could only make it out from the hole given for the sensor. Good job and thanks a lot. I am ordering one now from eBay.

Not a full screen protector either and I paid more...-_-
I don't like screen protectors. Never use them.
Besides this phone has gorilla glass. I have not even managed to scratch my other previous phones without gorilla glass after months of use. I rather take the risk of getting a little scratch rather than take away the nice touch feel of the screen.

Then you must not have exposed it to sand. I have managed to scratch almost all the screens I have had on cell phones without a screen protector even if they were made out of gorilla glass. Sand is the enemy to every screen. Metal, like keys or knives, are softer that the glass but sand (or some particles of sand) are not.
I just bought some cheap chinese screen protector (dry application) and it looked horrible. Had it on for 5 minutes and then ripped it off. Have to find a good soft wet application protector now, hopefully before I manage to scratch that thing of beauty.
I've heard good reviews of the Skinomi ones, so I may go for one of those. Does anybody know if the full body (transparent) version has something to cover the super-scratch-prone chrome around the camera? If you know about any screen protector with that feature please let me know, otherwise I'll order the screen only version and use some (custom?) workaround for the chrome thing...

I did order a couple for my Omnia a few weeks ago, but unluckily they came faulty, with pretty irregular cut borders and a nasty white drop of some kind of glue in the middle. They were totally unusable. I wanted to send them back for a replacement, but a couple days later I've lost my Omnia at a concert...oh well

Tempered glass protector issue??

So I'm a true believer in tempered glass screen protector because it saved me in thousands. I bought some cheap one even before the phone came out to use until the proper one comes out. This one is just square to cover the viewable screen. I bought two of them and both of them doesn't adhere at the bottom corners on two different phones. I went online to do some digging and found that most if not not all have the same issue and all sellers showing full screen cover does a bait and switch and send out the very exact same square ones.
I'm now beginning to wonder... Is this because all sellers have same batch of cheap stuff that doesn't fit or is it because G5 screen isn't perfectly flat? (never mind the curve on top) it seems the glass used on G5 is more flexible because when you press hard on it you can see the LCD distortion in some spots. In normal use it should not matter and I guess it was necessary to make the top curvature but it can also mean that when the the glass and LCD assembly can become "curvy".
Has anyone applied tempered glass protector yet? How did your application experience go? And if you had a successful one, please share the info of the product you used. NO LINKS.

The glass screen is indeed squishy. This is expected. The G4 was curved. I expect squishy glass is less likely to shatter.

That's the concern I have. I really hope that the cheap, mocked up protector is the issue and not the screen. Top is fine since we know there's curve. We need more owners to provide their experience but may be there aren't that many who purchased the early version of the protectors knowing they would not fit well?
Sent from my LG-H820 using XDA-Developers mobile app
I got my glass screen protector at at&t and installed there, i thought that i was rid of the issue that the protector would not come up at the edges but a week and a half it came up and now i removed the protector and clean it and cleaned the screen and used some clean water to put it on and then i had no issue about the protector coming off at the edges
There's another thread: Here where the same issue is experienced.
I wonder if this is with all G5s or is this just the Titan color that has this issue as some user mention they have Silver devices without the issue.
Tried 3 different suppliers for tempered glass protector and they all did this. I think it's the screen not the protectors.
I installed a cheap square screen protector and am waiting for a "real" one to show up. Currently on order, but taking longer than they originally said. With the one I have on now, I found that you have to install is slightly above the bottom of the screen to be sure it doesn't interfere with the lower, removable pieces of the phone. When I put it on just slightly higher than I wanted to it fit OK. It took me a bunch of tries and the lower right corner has a small bubble in it, but I attributed that to my several installation attempts. The three other corners are fine.
Just got a Yootech Premium glass protector on Amazon last week. It's curved for the tip, so it's a film glasses protector. No issues whatsoever. Fit/alignment is perfect. They even painted the to pay black, so there's no light bleed or distortion there. I'm really happy with it.
I mean, it's a very simple thing to do accidentally. I feel like it's always a 50/50 shot when I try to put down a screen protector bubble-free.
I haven't tried a protector on the G5, but I did have one on the very curved G4 with no issues.

Same product same results here. I waited for yootech to replace the cheap glass protector I bought at launch. I had great results on the G4 with this brand.
+1 on the Yootech. I got one and it is great. At first it looked like there was a light film in one spot between the protector and screen, but it went away in a couple hours.

Same problem ..I used Ringke screen protector
Hello everyone,
It's my first purchase of an LG device as I've always been HTC. The G5 is an amazing phone, hats off to LG for doing a great job. However, it's the worst phone when it comes to fitting a screen protector. I've purchased 5 so far. First 3 turned out to be a more bespoke cut glass at the top section to fit around the camera and underneath the speaker (all happened to be same brand from 3 different sellers, but they all had the same issue. Top section wouldn't adhere and bottom right corner too.
Bought two square protectors that just fit the visible screen and that's slightly better but small areas won't adhere, again top bottom right being the main culprit. Luckily I've been able to get refunded for the poorly fitting protectors but I'm getting fed up of having to change them every few days. I've never had such issue with fitting a protector as I normally get it spot on first time.
Anyone know where I can get a proper one, cut correctly and adhere to the LG's fussy screen?
But do any of them fit with the Spigen Style Armor slide on case?? That is the burning question.
I have a gold G5 and tried 3 tempered glasses in the mall but none fitted my phone. The corners below and above has bubbles lifting the tempered glass. It is now my problem where to find a good protector.

Hi, thanks for the help! But i cannot sign up on this amazon page because it's in german not all are being translated into english
Screen is curved
Just wanted to update you there is not a screen protector that is glass which fits the LG G5 because the screen is curved slightly in the bottom corners. This is an issue which the accessory manufacturers are aware but apparently have no intentions of resolving . So just to be perfectly clear you will not ever find a screen protector that does not bubble on the bottom right and left hand corner unless it is a plastic screen protector.

Yet another screen protector thread...looking for one without black edges that's good

The title pretty much covers it. I see many questions on this, but no definitive answers. I tried the official one but returned it since it would cover the edges of the screen. Bought one off of Amazon that said it didn't do that, but it did as well.
So simply, I'm looking for one that won't cover the screen is good quality. Simple enough, no?
I bought this case by Nillkin for my phone and it came with a free screen protector film (not a glass protector) and I find it pretty decent. I didn't find any issues with fingerprints on it.
You can find it here: https://www.amazon.com/OnePlus-Nill...=1504853058&sr=8-3&keywords=oneplus+5+nillkin
The Nillkin TGSP is probably the most compatible at the moment but it does have the larger gap around the edges, I've still got mine applied, hoping for more luck with the Rhinoshield case and a full face protector as the case is supposed to be much more compatible with them, my advice would be to go for the Nillkin until we all find the perfect replacement.

Thanks. Looks interesting particularly the all transparent version, curved edges and its cheap enough to experiment. There is no indication on where the adhesion is and no specific mention of a Oleophoic coating but describes an anti-fingerprint coating. I currently have the under screen dust issue with my Orzly tgsp but I love the feel of that screen so am looking for a alternative protector with similar finger feel.
I'm suspecting that my bumper case is causing the Orzly's issue as the dust only comes from the volume rocker area and likely due to the case pushing the Orzly's edge when pressed. Maybe this alternate protector with the curved edges would not have the same issue, while the all transparent version would likely have no issues cutting off the screen view unless the curved edge causes some undesirable optical effect.
If you get one please post your observations.

Well I post it here because I was looking if somebody already bought it. I have orzly with I'm happy however it have rainbow effect in the middle and sometimes it's quiete visible. My friend told me that he bought that one from link I sent (with black borders) and he is told me he don't have rainbow effect or cutted screen.. so i don't know
Like you I'm more interested in the transparent one as I don't know why there is even a black version on any of them.
On my Orzly I've seen the rainbow effect but only when the screen is at an unusual angle while wiping the surface clean but never when using the phone normally. It's only the dust that is driving me crazy. I'm even considering going with just my bumper case and no protector but I'll wait a while before going that route.
This one looks interesting (not glass though), quite clever application method, reminds me of the default screen protector that comes with the phone that a lot of people seem to like
Ringke Invisible Defender Screen Protector
https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Invisible-Guaranteed-Compatible-Clearness/dp/B074137YDH/
Just read the Amazon reviews and they're not that positive.
I still have to receive my oneplus 5. Would you guys recommend keeping the pre-applied film with the orzly bumper over any screenprotector that's on the market now?

The title pretty much covers it. I see many questions on this, but no definitive answers. I tried the official one but returned it since it would cover the edges of the screen. Bought one off of Amazon that said it didn't do that, but it did as well.
So simply, I'm looking for one that won't cover the screen is good quality. Simple enough, no?

i just want clear protective glass that covers the whole screen. anything similar to whitestone dome protective glass (for s8) would be great.
I bought the one from Nillkin until a better one came along. However it was pure garbage. It didn't fit the whole screen and the top notch was way off center. But the main reason I threw it in the trash was there was the entire right side would not stick to my phone. There was a good 1/8" section all along the right edge that was not sticking and just looked like crap.
Finally the almost perfect tgsp.....

Almost perfect is because its not fully adhesive. Only perimeter adhesive.
so dust will appear along the sides and rainbow will appear sooner or later.

Which one is it
i dont recommend it. after few hours of usage tiny dust appearing from speaker and sensor holes going right inside the tgsp. the coating is bad. attracts fingerprint n dust. screen will smudge all over.

Got it, but wich brand produce this one? Just to look around
No brand packaging on it...i would stay away from non full adhesive due to it attracts dust and rainbow effect. I would rather use a full adhesive tgsp eventhough it will block few mm from the sides
This is the best I found for now. Not full covered but minimal bars on the side and almost no rainbow effect. After 2 weeks no dust at all.

Anything new about those glass screen protectors?

Moto X4 Cases and Lens and Screen Protectors (Unified Thread)

I think it would be easier for us Moto X4 users to have a unified thread on available cases and screen protectors.
I recently bought the Moto X4 and my case and screen protector were just delivered.
I will post pics once I installed the plastic screen protector.
I'm still waiting for my iMAK Hydrogel Film for the front/back.
Will update you soon.
If you have anything, please post your pics as well.
Thank you!

I got the same case, except in red. It fits very well, and is quite nice! It fits very well. I was afraid it'd be too rubbery but it holds its shape well, while still being flexible enough if I need to remove it.
As usual, it blocks some headphone jacks if they have a wide base, but that's expected.
Mine was $8 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0753CD8R7/
Yes it does fit well but too bulky for my liking. I bought mine for USD5 ?.
Anyway, I'll probably get another type of case. Here's the link on how it looks like
http://www.lazada.com.my/imak-shock...html?spm=a2o4k.search.0.0.226b6e31cAW5cj&ff=1
I'm still undecided which of the 3 to get. I want the transparent but will definitely turn yellow after sometime.

I went for the smooth case, skin type feel. Hope its not slippery and gives good grip!
i ordered these 3 things on ALIEXPRESS for supercheap prices,
waiting for them to arrive... (they usually are quite fast in deliveries with china registered airmail)
2 back covers, and 5 camera protectors (for the back camera they were so cheap i ordered 5 immediately)
https://imgur.com/a/E3R0O (click link to watch all 3 pictures)
i hope one of these backcovers will at least feel like it offers good protection for dropping on the corners.
good camera protection on the back (=creating much distance between the backcover and the camera so there is a few mm's in between,
so the camera no longer touches a surface when we lay the phone on the back)
i already have a just in case glass screenprotector, which offers smooth touch...
but it has some air beneath on both sides of the screen (i dont really care some much cause it's hardly visible when the screen is turned on).
It doesn't protect the front camera sadly enough, the touch responsitivity feels great though.
so despite all its flaws i still give a 7/10.
I added some oldschool screenprotector foil that I cut with scissors on the front camera that is not covered by the just in case screenglass.
Edit: This stuff has arrived now! I like the Imak case. It's anti skid & offers good camera protection. The other case (perfect brush texture with so called "anti slip" looks better but feels bad to hold in hand. It does not offer camera protection and is not anti slip at all!
I ordered the same brand but mine is the matte black sandy feel.
I also order the iMak hydrogel film (front and back) since I really hate normal screen protector and tempered glass.
Film protectors (a la clearcoat/zagg/ishield) are not visible and will cover most of the screen including the edges.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2pc...-c62b-43f8-8513-c4ff815bdfb1&rmStoreLevelAB=5
I don't have the camera lens protector though. :/ I'm considering that since Moto likes putting a coating on their camera lenses (which scratches in time) though you can remove them completely by rubbing gently with toothpaste/baking soda.
This happened to my old Moto Z.
Btw, the case I used has a good camera lens protection. It is actually raised a little bit so you can put your phone on a flat surface without worrying.
why do you hate glass, and whats so good about gel?
good glass has great touch responsitivity,
will feel just as slippery as normal glass (are there really people that like nongreasy unslippery touchscreen?),
and protects against breaking.
my current case raises the camera as well but not enough. the only ones that raise it significantly are probably those bulky book cases.
i'll probably have to raise it myself by using superglue and putting some pieces of rubber on the inside of the screenprotector.
Since most phones these days (including Moto) are using 2.5D glass, the edges are curved and tempered glass can't cover the edges. In my past Moto phones (or just any other phones), tempered glass manufacturers will either
- make a tempered glass with maximum coverage (with obvious halo effect/ tempered glass not sticking to the edges)
or
- tempered glass won't cover the edges and can't even cover the whole display (assuming the side bezels are slim).
The film will protect the whole display and looks invisible as if there is no protection whatsoever.
I'm not too worried about breakage coz I am using a case.
Update: I received the iMak hydrogel films for the front and back. I haven't installed them yet but I'm now disappointed. The films will cover more than the glass front and back!
I'll update again once I installed it on my phone.
Anyway, this is better than the plastic screen protector I'm using now.
pietpietersen: Just wondering where you purchased the screen protector that you already had?
And if anyone can provide links to tempered glass screen protectors that have hit their phones well, I would appreciate it. I keep reading reviews on Amazon saying that some of them dont fit right.
Double post! Sorry!

I got the TGSP, pictured below, for the wife's X4.
It does cover the entire screen, side to side and is really hard to get it centered, side to side, because it is virtually the same width as the display.
It's cut really close to the button, camera and sensors, which also makes it difficult to get good placement.
It had the best reviews, on amazon, by far.
I really hate curved edge phones!
Triple post! Wth?
So sorry! I don't know what happened!
marxela: i got mine at smartphoneshop.be (or. nl) so its not gonna be cheap to buy or have it shipped outside of belgium/netherlands.
pizza Pablo's looks easier to place than mine, cause mine had only a tiny microphone cutout. anyway, im happy mine feels smooth to touch/swype on.
Update: Do NOT buy the iMAK hydrogel film for Moto X4. It's useless. The front and back films do NOT fit the phone itself. It's like the cutout is for an enlarge version of Moto X4!
So I have no choice but to go naked on my front screen.

Have you applied the imak hydrogel film? How does it fit? I am planning to order the same.
Edit: Got the answer. I won't order it, thanks.
I did successfully install the hydrogel film. Even if it does fit, the quality is really poor. It's like a cheap version of IQ shield or Clear Coat. There are a lot of creases and very fingerprint magnet.
I went to mobile outfitters and have my front screen installed with matte film. Problem solved.
The protector from the gadgetshieldz covers the lens, screen and body of the moto x4. I have previously used their screen protector on my moto g4. But now for my x4, I got the skins.

If someone is looking to stay away from the scratches and doesn't want to show that something is been applied on the screen camera or body. They can go with this.
I am using Nillkin frosted case for Moto X4. It's perfect for those who hate bulky cases as I do. The fit is accurate, also it protects camera bump. Case quality is very good, no doubt it will last long.
Nillkin screen protector (clear) for Moto X4 was included in the box. I bought it from AliExpress for $4.59.

Question To use a lens protector or not?

I have a good case and screen cover, but I'm reading online where if I put on a lens protector, it will degrade the image; refraction, ghosting, and possibly other optical anomalies.
I'm also reading online where the phone already has a lens protectors built into the rear cover. That they are replaceable if damaged. Use a case with a raised guard to protect them. Clean with a dry microfiber cloth.
So which is true and what should I do?
Use lens protector - best brand to get.
Don't need lens protector. If that is the case how hard is it to replace if scratched or damage?
This phone is too expensive to damage!
I tried camera protectors good quality (even for tens dollars) in N9 and Fold 2 and never again.
Photo quality are worse especially in lower light more artefacts.
I saw opinions about all good photo quality but I saw unfortunetly worse.
Moreover I don't have from years any scratch in the camera lenses, camera island but carry devices without any keys, coins etc.
Phone is for me no I am for phone or for new customer after months or years when try sell
I'm no pro photographer but I've read well pro photographers advising not to use lense protectors in DSLR lenses as well as in smartphone cameras to avoid degraded performance.
I use the lens caps sold by Spigen.
https://a.co/d/cADPXV4
They have very good reviews on the Spigen site and on Amazon. A lot of people saying they didn't notice any degradation of image quality or any other issues.
I am far from a professional photographer and just use my phone for "typical" stuff like taking pictures of my kids and pets, interesting things I see outside, food at restaurants, etc. I have not noticed any issues with the lens caps. Again, I'm not doing a lot of night mode, 100x zoom, or any of that stuff. And even if I did, I don't have the eye to really spot much difference.
With all that said I am happy with the purchase. I use them along with a Caseology case and they fit wonderfully. I believe Caseology might be owned by Spigen but it's not an official product, and yet it still fits really nicely.

I wouldn't recommend any lens protector. You'll lose the image quality.

I have lens protectors on my S23U and have no issues with image quality.
I took pics before and after (same subjects with tripod to get same viewing angle) because I wanted to see if they do impact the image at all and honestly, I see no differences. Even LightRoom Histograms are near identical (sun moved a little, so the lighting changed), but no real differnce.
Can you site a source that shows impact?
I also experience the same. I cannot perceive any loss in quality of images, including shots done at night. I currently have the ESR ones.

If you haven't noticed any difference then good for you. As the OP mentioned he needs recommendations for a good quality lens protector. You can recommend the one you are using. As for the source, you can find some of the issues people have found on the XDA itself. But it could be due to bad quality of the lens protector. As for me, I have never put lens protector and I don't think I'm going to put any on the near future
I use a good case along with a good screen protector and whenever the phone is not is use, it is in a soft pouch, especially when I leave the house.
Now I've got to see if I want to use a lens protector or not.
Right now I think I won't as I didn't with my last phone, S21+ for two years. I think the soft pouch helps a lot so the lens don't get scratched in my pocket etc.
But I'm still listening. If I can be convinced that there will be no degradation, the image; refraction, ghosting, and possibly other optical anomalies. I might change my mind.
I have lens protection in the case that I have and I may cut the protection out or get a new case. I tried to take a picture of a job I installed today and got ghosting with the case on. I took the case off and the ghosting went away. I tried playing with the brightness bar before I took the pic, but there was multiple with the ghosting issue.

Nice confirm with this photos. I had similar feelings when try camera protection.
Unfortunately next glass layer degrade quality image with ghosts etc in bigger or smaller level.
My friend use island camera protector in S10+ and is happy with this because have protection but I am not convinced with my experience

Sorry, just saw this. Here's a link to what I bought. I'm a sign installer and on a lot of construction sites, so this seemed to fit the bill for the most part. I had a similar case for my S9+ that I had for 5 years and my phone looked new until the end. Only difference was there was no cover over the camera on that one. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0BQ3B1GF5?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
