Wish the Idol 3 4.7 had a high quality case. - Onetouch Idol 3 Accessories

Been using this phone for about two months and it's a great phone. Just wish someone made a high quality case for it.

This.
IMO best case out right now. My girlfriend and I both use it and I feel that its the best protection you can currently get for the device. Just don't get the "blue", Innovvaa has no idea what blue actually is and its very much borderline purple. They also offer the same case but with rhinestones in different colors. Girlfriend likes them, ordered a pink one so that I could have the white inner TPU layer to go with my black plastic to mix it up every once in a while (I have the black/black), and gave her the pink plastic shell.

I have that same case and don't like that the rubber case is a lint magnet.

The 5.5 doesn't really have any great ones either.

Armor-X makes good high quality cases and they have one for the 4.7" idol 3.

Case Mate Barely There or Incipio Feather light?

I've been looking around online for really low profile cases and noticed that the case mate barely there and the Incipio Feather light are almost the same case (both 6oz, minimal protection, etc.) I want to order one but I'm wondering which one (if either) protects the corners of the device. From the pictures it seems that the top and bottom are not covered. I was just wondering from people who have had experience with these cases, which protects the corners better? And do either of them have a lip over the screen? If you have both then comparison pictures would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance

I'm in the same boat as you - I'd like to see a comparison between these two (or a review of either, really).
Best I can tell from their websites/descriptions, neither really covers the top/bottom or corners. From the images, it looks like the Feather kind of tapers flush with the phone at the edges a little better (a little more sleek). The Barely There has holes for a wrist strap/tether/charm thing, if you're looking for that.
The Feather has a few more colors available (black, pink, blue, and grey), but I was able to find the Barely There in three colors (black, white, and pink).
I don't see a whole lot of difference, although you can get the Feather for a bit cheaper from Incipio's website for the remainder of the month with a coupon code (SUM2012 - gives you 20% off, I believe).
I had been fond of the Incipio Feather cases since my Blackberry days... I had bad luck with case mate barely there cases breaking on me. Then I found the Amzer Shellster case and holster combo and I will never go back. more durable and a better feel.
I just got the Incipio feather case in the mail today...I had the diztronic before that. Probably post a review/some pics tomorrow. I really like the feather, brings out the beautiful design of the evo and looks much better than the diztronic. Can't say about the case mate

i've had the spigen snap case, and loved it. design and looks just fit perfectly with the phone. only problem was it not sturdy. i think i had it for a week before taking it off to install a new sd card and the case broke. hopefully the feather or the barely there are stronger in quality. these snap cases are awesome though.
nope, never could put this little protection on my evo, I take my LTEVO through too much **** lol
i was looking for a white case like this and bought this, type "White Rubberized Hard Snap-On Case Cover FOR HTC EVO 4G LTE Sprint Accessory" in ebay (sorry cant post links). The case sticks out more than the phone on the bottom but doesnt protect the front corners. The case does not cover the top nor does it stick out more and does not protect the corners. The case sticks out very slightly along the sides of the phone giving it a reallllly slight lip. Does not provide lip for the camera, so the camera stick outs verry little. Its matte white so its a bit slippery.
Black barely there case arrived today. Its great. Slim profile, premium feel. Definitely gets my recommendation.

Can anyone give me some insight on feather/snap on cases. Do they scratch or smudge the chrome/paint on the side or outer edges of the phone from simple every day use. I ordered an incipio feather case for my Samsung galaxy note 3 and I am kinda worried that it will mess up the edges of the phone by having it on.

Incipio DualPro Case Review.

Here is my quick review of the new Incipio DualPro Case. First I want to say sorry for the blurry pics. Wasn't taken with the best camera, but I wanted to get this up now.
Right off the bat this case feels great. It's almost gel-like. It's made of a hard shell, and very soft inner part, but both feel the same. It's like a feltish feel. Reminds me of the Nexus One's back. Even though it was hard plastic, it had that soft touch feel to it. The buttons are extremely easy to press thanks to the soft inside material being the cover instead of the hard outer shell, or individual pieces like the Spigen Neo-Hybrid. The overall thickness is also less compared to both the Neo-Hybrid and the Spigen Slim Armor. It almost feels like the naked phone without a case.
The cutouts are spot on too. Just like the Slim Armor. No complaints overall. Again the headphone port has a deep cutout, so you will need an extension, or just use headsets with thin jacks. Anything larger than the headphones that came with it won't fit. The camera is tucked in just enough, so there is no fear of it contacting any surface when put down, and the front is thick enough to protect any sort of surface if laid face down. I'm really happy with this case. For me it's a toss up between the Slim Armor and this with the Neo-Hybrid last. Both the Slim Armor and DualPro feel great in the hand, but the DualPro feels a bit better with the super soft touch feel. Great case that you can't go wrong with. The color is Cyan.

Thanks for the pictures & review, this may be my kind of case. One question though, how is the gripping on the sides? All I need in a case now is one that provide sufficient grip, since the Note 3 is so thin and slippery on the sides that sometimes it literally slides off my hands/grip.
The grip on the sides Isn't super slick but I wouldn't call it grippy either. I'd try and check it out in a VZW store first hand. My only complaint is the TPU insert doesn't have much rigidity around the home button and the speaker. So it snags and doesn't stay snug so to speak.
I'm probably going to return mine when my Uag arrives

This is the only case so far that I'm really having an easy time holding. The Slim Armor was the best I thought, but this one is just a perfect increase in size over the naked phone. The rubbery texture is more than enough to grip. When you first put it on it may feel a bit slippery, but it's just the talcom powder they use in the molds for the silicone to be easy to get out. I wiped mine down, and now it's a soft rubbery grippy feeling case. I really like it a lot. Plus the sides are curved. There are no corners that you need to grip against like the Neo-Hybrid or Slim Armor. It's a very natural feeling to hold it since your fingers wrap the entire case. One bonus feature I found for me is the entire bottom is the very soft inner case, and the way I hold the phone I tend to put my pinky under the bottom as a brace. The soft gel really is easy on my finger. The other two case are hard on the bottom, and I would have to keep moving my pinky to stay comfy.

That's a good additon to mention. The top and bottom are both just the soft inner case. There is no hard outer shell to keep it pressed against the phone, so if you tend to put it in your pocket I can see it getting caught and pulled when you try to pull it out, but overall with it being on the case and used, it doesn't "wobble or flipflop" by itself. It's stiff enough to stay put, but easy enough to pull away with a slight tug.
Ah yeah I wasn't clear. It stays put until it snags coming in and out of my pocket. It's merely an annoyance.
My favorite thing about the case is how comfortable it is. Holding the phone naked now feels sharp and uncomfortable.

Looks great!! Thanks for the review and your initial thoughts on it! Looks really good on your white GN3! I also bought a white GN3, so this is perfect for keying me know how this will look on mine! Thank you!!
One thing, you should put a link in the OP so readers can easily find this case, instead of having to search the web for it. Other than that, which you can easily fix with an edit, excellent review!

How'd you get your case so quickly? I pre-ordered directly from incipio.com about 2 weeks ago and still haven't received a shipping notice.
EDIT: Oh, apparently the blue and pink versions are shipping NOW, but the neutral white and black versions are taking a little longer. Ah well.

I'm special. LOL Yeah just as your edit said. I check sites daily, and when I see them in stock I order ASAP. That's how I get all my case in before everyone. I check first thing in the morning (around 8). I find I can order in the morning with "in stock" stuff, and by afternoon they are already out of stock.

I picked up a DualPro SHINE, Brushed silver color, from the Verizon store, They were able to pick up the day note3 came out. They still sell them, It's a the best over the counter case you can get IMHO at the moment.
How does this case compare to the spigen bounce? I just ordered the bounce to try it out.
I loved this case on my SG4 but it was a Lint & Dust magnent. I think there is a correlation with most cases....the grippier the case...the more dust and lint it will attract. Just got a UAG case for my new note 3 and it sits perfectly inbetween Grip and Lint spectrum!
Just ordered mine from amazon. How easy / not easy is it to quickly take off and put back on? Like if I wanted to swap batteries in my phone, would it be this whole ordeal? Thanks

Sent from a Galaxy Note 3 far, far away....
My older brother had the Shine version of the Incipio DualPro for his Galaxy Note II and it was pretty bulky with no easy way to take it off. I have the Spigen Slim Armor for my Galaxy Note 3 and considered it superior until I noticed a crack in the armor yesterday. It has never been dropped so I am pretty sure that it was caused by taking the phone in and out daily. I do this carefully one side at a time and push through from behind (camera opening) but it happened anyway. I would hope that the Note 3 version of the DualPro is easier.
Also, it was rounded so it probably wouldn't fit a flat metallic plate insert like the nGroove Snap uses. He also tried it with a Qi wireless receiver I sent him and it doesn't work through the case. I hope the Note 3 version is thinner.

My 4 cases - reviews and thoughts

Hello friends,
I thought I'd share some thoughts on the four cases I have for my Note 3. They are, from left to right: A Samsung view case which came with my phone, a Wave case by Mob:C, a Neo Hybrid case by Spigen, and a Slim Armor case also by Spigen.
First, the flip/window case. This was free when I bought my phone in Korea. It has a window and finger grooves on the side. I'm fairly certain it's an official Samsung product, but it's not very good. I only used it for about three days before buying a new case, and I noticed the following:
1. The window was already very scrathed and didn't look very good.
2. The case didn't stay shut that well.
3. The finger groove design makes it difficult to put into and remove from the pocket.
4. The build quality isn't very good. The case feels cheap and fragile.
5. It's also not a smart flip case. Would not recommend.
The second case, called the Wave by Mob:c was the first non flip case I found In Korea. I liked the drop protection this case offered, but the enormous rubbery bumpers also added a significant amount of girth to the phone. I also liked the deeply recessed camera cutout, which kept the camera well away from tabletops. The s pen cutout is also very generous, allowing for easy access. Things I dislike about this case are as follows:
1. The wave shape is perhaps intended to make the phone fit the hand better, but in reality it seems to make it worse, possibly because it makes the phone so wide.
2. The wave shape, like the fingergrooves on the flip case, tends to make this case get hung up on pockets when going in or coming out.
3. The bezel around the screen is quite shallow, making it dangerous to set the phone down face down.
This case is alright overall, but I can't really recommend it unless you're in love with the shape.
The third case is the well known Neo Hybrid from Spigen. This case arrived at the same time as the Slim Armor, as I liked both designs but wasn't sure which I'd prefer. This case is very slim and therefore doesn't feel like it would offer much protection. It's also a bit slick in the hand. The only other thing I'm not crazy about with this case is the very low bezel on the screen and the very shallow recess for the camera. It didn't offer the protection I wanted, but I still think it's an attractive design and will work perfectly for those looking for a trim case that still offers a bit of protection.
Lastly, my favorite of the four, the Slim Armor. Things I like about this case include the just deep enough bezel, the just deep enough camera recess, and the rock solid feel in the hand. It honestly feels like a suit of armor for your phone, and while it doesn't appear to offer the maximum protection you'd get from the Otterbox or similar designs, I'd still trust it to save the phone from a realistic drop. Things I don't like about it: it's quite slick in the hand, and the buttons aren't quite as easy to use as they are on the naked phone or with the other cases.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this case. The feeling in the hand is just fantastic, and the case is attractive but still minimalist.
Hope you enjoyed these mini reviews, thanks for reading.

I am using the slim armor myself in slate. Absolutely love it. I also tried the neo and wasn't impressed. The outer ring didn't fit properly and the overall feel in the hand wasn't for me.

I have the Slim Armor on my N3 right now in white. The fit and finish is at a very high level. The protection seems about right for normal use. It is an impressive case. Very solid and polished. But, I am not sure I am going to be able to continue to use it for two reasons. First, it is slippery. Common sense tells me I am going to drop this case more often and that just does not make sense to me. Second, the power button takes an effort to push and that is annoying because you are always using it. I could probably live with the buttons, but worrying about dropping the phone is a deal breaker for me. My last case was the CruiserLite on my Note 2. I used that case for a year ... very grippy with texture on each side ... dropped it one in a year of use. I've tried the CruiserLite for the Note 3, but it did not fit well and I returned it.
Any suggestions on a grippy case for the Note 3?

I have about 5 case for my phone right now so far this spigen is the 1 that would slip out hand the most but I haven't broke it yet then I have the knock off griffin case that has protection and has grip and it's kind like the otterbox then I have some cheap 9$ one I won on a ebay bid then I have the blason one which has alot of grip then I have a caseology one but the spigen is semi tough because I dropped it once on tile floor the knockoff griffin is pretty touch I dropped it while biking on pavement and it survived surprisingly because the case was 10$ from Japan

Case, Skin, other for adding grip to slippery phone

I do not usually put my phone in a case because I do not like to add bulk. I like to keep it as slim and trip as possible. I am coming from a prior phone that had a rubberized surface on the edges and back (Droid MAXX - the original). The Pixel is a bit slippery for me.
I am curious what solutions people would recommend for the best way to add grip to the Pixel without adding bulk. Maybe I need to go with one of the thin cases, or maybe there is a skin that could help? I don't need to decorate the phone, but if there is a skin that helps it grip better I would give it a try.
Your options are case, skin, and naked. For cases, you're not going to get any thinner than the Nillkin Nature cases. I'm not a fan of the one I have but it's undeniably low in bulk. For skins, the are a ton of options and you'll have a variety of opinions but if you don't want a case, that's about your best option.
Some skins are grippier than others, even win a single manufacturer, so it's worth asking the manufacturer about it. For example, for dBrand their grippier skins tend to be the carbon fiber options.
Good luck!
I've said this in the other cases thread on here, but I'll post again just in case people don't know about that other thread.
Caudabe (http://www.caudabe.com) makes great, very slim cases for iPhones.
If you email/tweet them to make Veil XT for Google Pixel/Pixel XL, they might consider it.
You can try reaching out to Shumuri too (http://shumuri.com)
I wish that their was an antigravity case for the pixel... I can't stand mounts and would love to just stick my phone to my instrument panel
Based on my experience with them on other phones, a skin won't provide anywhere near as much grip as the surface on that Droid Maxx.
Instead, take a look at the thread on ultra-thin cases:

The Nillkin Nature cases are very slim and definitely add grip to the phone. You can see pics in my post here:

+1. I received the Ice case yesterday; using it on the silver Pixel. I wanted a slim grippy case, one with black rubber to hide the darkening that occurs with time on rubbery areas of phone cases, and a clear back to display the silver/white of the phone. This case is PERFECT. It looks great. And the grip is fantastic.
I just received a blue Speck Presidio Grip and it's a very nice case for adding grip. The blue one is hard to find unless you pay quite a bit of $$ (I found a listing on eBay for used under $20) but the black version can more easily be found for under $20.
The case fits very well without being too difficult to take on and off. The added grip is good without being extreme. The hard plastic has a nice matte feel to it (the previous Speck cases I had was glossy but I like this better). And the buttons have a good clicky feel to them. It's not a minimalistic case like the Nillkin Nature but it's tons better than something like the Incipio Dual Pro.
Hope this helps somebody!

I've purchased two Toast skins now and I really like them. Because they are actual wood they are really nice and grippy with the added benefit of that if you drop your phone, the wood will absorb some of the shock. It's prevented a few dings for me. Plus they can laser etch anything you want on there...

I've had Toast on phones and laptops. Great products although I prefer them on non-phone devices because it's impossible to put a case over top of it and sometimes you just need heavy duty protection.

I have a best skins ever fitted with the glossy screen and matte body.
Also I have a qi receiver. You can see the USB port blocked by it
The buttons are cut outs so are quite recessed. I had a spigen case on just before that covers the buttons
This case is much less bulky than the spigen
The headphone port is possibly slightly wrong. If you have a headphone socket with a bulky top it might struggle. This is being picky though and I could just get a scalpel to it to increase the hole a mm

Looking for a premium look case

Hey fellas!
I am looking for a premium looking case for my nexus 6.
My phone is white if it matters.
I did like a lot the Nilkin slim border, but its out of stock everywhere.
Also i have found this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Luxury-Sli...hash=item41939eb983:m:m2afeTHn0qE_nI9hygZ9iVg
Black aluminum borders.
Besides that, im looking for something that will give me a nice grip yet still make the phone look elegant and aesthetic.
Thanks!
I have that. It looks okay, but the quality is crap. I got rid of it right away.
My favorite Nexus 6 case is this one:
Ringke FUSION [Dust Cap/Drop Protection][CLEAR] Shock Absorption Bumper. (Available on Amazon)
It adds minimal bulk and fits like a glove.
I bought this case about 6mo ago, and have been very happy with it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/152687543728 (Not affiliated with the seller, just a happy customer)
Back is a clear, hard plastic (poly-carbonate?) and the "lip" is a firm TPU-type material. I've dropped it dozens of times with zero problems.
I've used the "S-shape" type cases for other phones in the past. A simpler, less "high-end" look, but they have tiny little "nubs" at the edges that give excellent grip. (Zoom in on pics to see):

I have this Ringke also and it is a good case, but I wouldn't consider it premium. It does provide adequate protection for minor bumps and falls. It has a large enough lip that my tempered glass screen protector doesn't scratch if I place the phone face-down on a table. The clear TPU yellows over time so it looks dingy though. Depending on how frequently you charge or use a headset, the dust caps can be annoying (of course they are easy to snip off the case if you like.)
Overall it is a very good case and the one I use most of the time, but particularly because of the yellowing of the clear plastic, I can't consider it a premium case.
I use a Spigen slim armor. Very nice looking and protects well. I had together it directly from Spigen though. I tried ordering one from a discounter and they send me a fake. It literally didn't even look like the real thing and lacked the kick stand and didn't even fit properly. They just printed Spigen on some random vaguly similar case and tried to pass it off.
Have had a number of cases over the years and I'm none rival the quality, feel, build, and just plain sexiness of the Seidio Dilex Pro. I'm the best kickstand case as the kickstand itself is metal as well as magnetic, it's also very sturdy. I went thru 2 Spigen Slim Armor kickstand cases after the plastic kickstands broke off then I discovered this beauty lol. Also rocking a Dbrand skin and no problems with the fit. Also the feel of the outside lip is great, more than enough to sit it face down, but formed and angled perfectly as to not in any way hinder using the screen. Seidio is also a big name company so the price is higher @ $29.99, over your run of the mill ebay cases, but as the famous saying goes, you get what you pay for lol.
https://www.amazon.com/Seidio-DILEX-Metal-Kickstand-Motorola/dp/B00S6TA3RW
Also might add that the way the metal kickstand is attached the area is flat which means sitting it on a table it will stay put instead of rocking back and forth lol. The butter shell of the 2 pieces is also covered (or made?) out of something that is pretty grippy, no slick plastic or rubbery TPU to deal with, using it for over a year in construction sites, factories, and other outdoor/dirty jobs it doesn't hold dirt or sweaty skin oils compared to others I've used, I wash mine bout once a month in hot water with dish soap and no warping, deforming, or most of all, fading, still black as the day I got it. And one last awesome thing that's soo small to be easily looked over but makes a huge difference when case makers don't do it is the side buttons, each one is individual, precision molded, and have a very satisfying feel when depressing them. It may be a tad bigger compared to bumpers or extremely thin shell cases which are barely a step up over a full Dbrand or (can't remember the other skin company) skin lol, I found myself loving the size, it's not full on OtterBox, but it still is thin enough to let me use it one handed which is whenever I'm doing anything but typing lol.
::Edit:: Oh yea, it comes in Black, Blue, Red, and White. Seidio also makes a Surface case with the metal kickstand as well and I'm sure it's just as high quality of a product I have not tried it myself and cannot attest to it's build, here is an Amazon listing tho if you would like to see it, it is one that includes a belt holster tho there are listings without the holster for cheaper.
