Youtube playback issues Updated with possible fix - T-Mobile LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well my v10 stutters on 1080, 2k, 4k, 60 fps videos on youtube. Where my wife's does just fine. But as far as gaming my phone blazes just as my note 4 did no issues at all. Just with the youtube app it freezes/Buffers conatantly. But watching them through the browser no issue only happens with youtube app for my phone, hulu nor Netflix have issues. There have been updates pushed to AT&T from what I have heard that fixed the fingerprint, an youtube as well as a few other issues. I have tested both wifi and LTE. Anyone else have this issue? Found a fix or work around? I am rooted stock everything else except I removed all T-Mobile bloat.

Pretty sure you guys have noticed that well we all have youtube issues as well positive that you have heard of Binge on Demand that T-Mobile offers well one thing they don't say is hey we have already added it to your account while it does not add to the cost of your bill it does slow down your data for things like youtube or what ever streaming service you are using. By simply going to your account plans and services then other you will see you have the option to enable or disable. Select disable of course and voila. You should now be enjoying your high def videos on YouTube and whatever you watch and have issues doing so. Now I have tested this on both of my devices an have had positive results.

I'm on the same boat man, i freaked out for a second because i thought it was my phone, it's an app issue and a lot of people are mad about it.
I updated my review last night at the play store.

It's insane that it is taking this long for them to address the issue. Even if they have begun to or what ever I don't have a clue. Thanks for your response

Ok well I decided to uninstall youtube updates. It started running fine. Woke up this morning and it updated by itself I can now watch youtube like normal.....kinda weird but hey it worked for me

Thanks for the tip

Did it work for you as well?

Yes it did it really helped a lot, now it's cruising through 720p videos and just right behind the buffer on 1080p, 1440p is still a no go. I've been reading and searching about the issue and what i have understand so far is that they optimized the app for marshmallow and is not playing nice with lollipop. The quick workaround so far is the tip that you posted so thanks again.

No problem, that's insane why isn't it optimized for all lol

Just found out that if you have Binge On it will cut your data speeds up to 3 quarters of you don't use the Binge On apps. I have unlimited everything so i turned the Binge On thing OFF and voila i can stream 1440p videos with no problem now.

How do you turn binge off

Go in to your account online go to profile and then media manager

[Q] Youtube not working?

My YouTube app is behaving horribly. When I try to search and watch something it plays a random video...Most notably its been playing like lil Wayne videos instead of something like a video from machinima.
Is mine a defect?
Noticed that with the display model too. Nexus S sitting next to it when both pushed at same time took like .5 sec for Nexus S and 7 or 8 sec for the 3D...same once list loaded, selected the same video at same time and it was about 10 sec behind the Nexus S, and yes both were running on 3G mode not 4G. Needless to say I didnt buy one today even though I drove 60 miles round trip to do so
Did u do the ota I haven't had that issue been having fun on YouTube and the net haven't done the ota update yet.
I did a reboot and it seems to be working fine. This time though I am on WiFi instead of 3g.
clear data in app manager.

Yeah, I updated whatever HTC gave me.
Seems to be a problem with being on 3G. The same videos loaded up fine and played the video I wanted in WiFi, while if I was on 3G, it loaded for a while and then played a random video completely irrelevant to the one I chosen.
Argh. Anyone know Bestbuy's exchange policy?
Similar issue here. I went to market and searched for youtube. It did not show as installed so I installed youtube from the market (even though it was on the phone obviously) and everything works fine now. BTW...I had the problem after the OTA. Didn't check before.
I tried that and it still does not work properly..
It's perfect on WiFi while it plays a random video over 3G..

[Q] [Solved] Streaming Audio cuts out

Hello Folks,
I just replaced my old Droid Eris (that I took swimming) with a Samsung Fascinate that I bought from a guy on Craigslist.
The phone is in pretty great shape, and it is wonderfully faster than my old Eris was (especially after it went swimming).
The stock rom was disgustingly hogged by VZW and M$, as I'm sure you all know. I am currently running PowerWashedGB on it, and it is fabulous.
I am having a problem however with audio dropping out during streaming, and am trying to decipher whether it is software or hardware related.
Does anyone else have problems with audio dropping when streaming? Works great when read off a disk. I went back to the VZW stock rom to see if it had to do with PWGB, but the problem persisted.
Does anyone know a way I can pick this problem apart, and if there is a different radio/modem I could try flashing? Everything else on the phone works great, even data for the most part, just not stable enough to hold a steady stream (drops every 30 seconds or so for about 5-10 seconds).
Thanks guys.

Do a *228 options 1 and 2 and let the phone reset. If the problem persists: does it happen with only one streaming app or with all of them. If it's all of them try streaming with the charger plugged in to check if it's a voltage issue with the screen off. Lastly, does it happen with the screen off or on or both ?

Thank you for your quick reply. Setting the phone to reprogram seems to have fixed the issue, I've been streaming about a half hour now with no problems, which is far more than was working previously.

Youtube Audio and Video out of sync (Brand New Rezound)...

Hey,
I just picked up a new HTC Rezound from Amazon and it arrived today. It's crazy but I'm noticing the same Audio/Video out of sync problem with Youtube that I did w/ my HTC Droid Incredible. To be fair I do a lot of video editing so perhaps I'm more perceptive to this than some but it's clearly off by at least .250sec (Video ahead of audio). This is happening in both the youtube app and flash through the stock browser.
When I first got my Incredible two years ago I had the same problem. After rooting and using different roms/kernels it became less noticeable w/ certain combinations. However I became content with not really using my phone to watch videos just for fun. Having a phone that could play youtube properly was one of the main things I was excited about w/ this upgrade to the Rezound. Turns out it's clearly worse than my Incredible rooted w/ OMFGB and Chad's Kernel.
This is occurring right after taking it out of the box and using WIFI. Haven't even activated the phone yet as Verizon needs confirmation from a family member who's in FL (and asleep - I'm in CA). I'm surprised I can't find one other thread about this.
Anyone else notice this at all? I don't see how this could be a "bad phone" issue. I do plan on rooting so perhaps after removing the bloatware it'll be better. Really hope someone can reassure me......
-Jay
Just happened to notice this watching the new Busta Rhymes video on the Market Place. It's annoying as he'll.

How long have you had your Rezound? Has it worked fine w Youtube before? Perhaps they're having an issue (hopefully).
I'm a big youtuber....
I noticed it before but thought it was the. Video or my connection. I've been watching "Drunk History" since my last post and all but one episode was synced properly. Go check it out...... If anything you'll laugh your ass off a little.
So for me it's not consistent.
I was using Wifi by the way.

9.4.2.13 broke youtube

The new update broke YouTube again for me. The issue I am having is constant buffering on the YouTube app while using the "hd " setting. Right now I am on .13, before I was on .11 and still had that issue. When I upgraded to .11.1 it fixed the YouTube buffering issue and now that I am on .13 I have that issue again . Gary can this please be addressed.
I can't have the upgrade yet (ww version here .11) and youtube was broken too. Yesterday, Youtube gave me an error every time I opened it. Today, youtube works but slowly, very slowly.
My tf201 is not upgraded so it is not upgrade's fault.
Please, use the search engine before posting
It seemed like on ".11.1" they fixed youtube, not on .11. Now on .13 it seems like youtube is broken again. Also I ran a speed test and i am getting worse speed with .13 then i was using .11.1. I have a 40M connection down. On .11.1 i was getting around 5Mb now i am getting about 3M. My upload speed doesnt seem to be affected because it is getting 5M.
I don't think its the update. My Droid x is having issues aswell. (On same wifi connection) so its probably a YouTube server issue.

This is a YouTube back-end server issue that Google has been working on for two days. It happens on every ICS device I have tried with the stock browser. You will probably see this up and down availability for the next couple of days from YouTube. Any coincidence that it started occurring when they rolled out the last version of Chrome.
Just tried and no issues here runs smooth

I watched a couple of YouTube vids today w/no problems; I did take the 2/8 update. I do think the update affected my battery life though, but I'm giving it a few days to shake itself out.

Yeah, I concur.
From what I've read here and there, it would seem that Google is aware of the issue, and this doesn't necessarily pertain to our latest update on the TFP.
However, that is not to say that I want to quit pointing the finger at ASUS for my issues on this particular piece of hardware.
I think it's just habitual and somewhat human of us to immediately associate all issues with the hardware manufacturer.

I also had issues with youtube flickering and making it difficult to search. I just tried restoring youtube in Titanium and then reinstalled it from Titanium, selecting "App only" instead of "App plus data" and all seems well so far
edit - uninstall then reinstall using titanium
Its not the back end its the way the YouTube app buffers. It buffered correctly in 11.1 but not in the new update. It seems like its not caching. Properly

Downloads for Music apps and faster 3G

Anyone remember this little fix back on the OG Evo and 3D? Was wondering if anyone has tried it yet with the EvoLTE. Gonna give it shot & see how it works.

On G&E they posted an article about that
http://www.pocketables.com/2012/06/...s-for-faster-data-on-your-htc-evo-4g-lte.html
I tried it but I got worse speeds. It just depends on your phone. You can test and always revert. They posted a picture of the original settings.
Those settings actually gave me issues with streaming video like YouTube and made my 3G unreliable. I'm yet to see a positive outcome on the EVO LTE.

I had issues downloading apps. The connection would always time out. I switch back to the originals
I tried it today. So far, no issues, apps download fine, youtube streams as usual. I did Speed tests before and after, but with Sprints lousy 3g, it is hard to say what the results mean. For the record, I did 6 speed test runs before, and 6 after. My download speeds varied from 232 kbps to 1899 kbps down before making the mods, and 410 kbps to 1073 kbps for the six tests after. Doesn't mean much to me though as Sprints 3g can be all over the place, speed wise, as is obvious by the spread in my scores.
So, I think I will run it for a few days and see if it makes any noticeable difference, especially with streaming music. My main problem is that I listen to Slacker Radio going to and from work, and I hate all the buffering it does.
