Q: Can you add (insert feature here) from (insert other ROM here) so it can be more like (insert other ROM here)?
A: If they have their source posted, then probably. If I feel it's needed or beneficial to performance then I'll consider it. One thing to remember is that I build this to suit my needs first, and it's release to the public for those who want to use it, but take it as it is. If you want Screw'd to be more like (insert other ROM here) then maybe you should use (insert other ROM here). Screw'd is.................different.
Q: How can I build this myself for another device that I own?
A: Screw'd is completely open-sourced. If you want to build for another device then you can start at my Github manifest page. Remember, it'll be up to you to make the source work with your device, and any device related support from me will be somewhat limited. If you want to be an official device maintainer then let me know.
More as they come......

It does not force encryption.
That is old, it is only layers. No cmte. Good catch.

Nice seeing you release something for the 6P, I know it's going to be worth going through the ball break of flashing. Multi-ROM support, do you know something we don't?

Really liking the sound of this ROM! Quick question, can I flash another kernel after flashing the ROM? I'm really wanting to try Fechda-kernel and since this ROM is SELinux permissive and so is that particular kernel, this would be the perfect switch for me if they play nice together. I'm running the latest Chroma and ElementalX with SELinux enforcing, after a wipe/data reset will it be possible to flash these 2 together? Many thanks!

Thank you for the quick reply! Alright, I'll wipe and flash the ROM and boot up and check it all out before deciding if I want to flash the other kernel or not. Thanks again!

Is AK actually doing a 6P kernel, or are you just making one from his sources from OPO? Any chance of uploading the kernel separately? I use to love AK on the OPO.
Thanks

This looks amazing, but you know...I'm not so sure you or this rom can be trusted.
I mean, you might have included software that makes it easier for the NSA to spy on us, or perhaps a direct link to the SETI sensor array.
In fact, I bet flashing this soi-disant rom is akin to breaking the Oslo Accords.
Could be true.

Rom specs look awesome....thank you for your work.
I tend to use the custom kernels not for performance but for the ability to adjust right speaker independently which I don't think viper4android can do and to adjust color temperature of the display.
Does their ROM have or will it ever have pie? I have yet to see a 6p ROM have it. Lmt pie is okay but has limitations since its not a system application.
Also do you recommend a particular gapps package?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA Free mobile app

ROM don't have pie at the moment not sure if it will banks gapps works great with this beast you can adjust color also through kernel app much alohas

Hi,
Are you tired of your current ROM that has limited features? Are looking for one that you want to customize by yourself? Well here's the ROM for you. Have a minute to read and hopefully you'll be encouraged to test it.
This is The GN0M3 Project. This ROM has no customizations whatsoever. You will be the one to customize this, It's a fast clean stock ROM with under the hood speed enhancements and some personal tweaks. You would need to install GApps for both builds. With this ROM, you will have a Fast, Clean, Stock experience.
Why did I say "You'll be the one to customize it?"
Well, It's because I already integrated the Xposed framework into the ROM settings. And If you're going to ask me "Why no customizations and why with the Xposed framework only?" It's because some of the famous features of some Custom ROMs are already in one of the Xposed Modules, you just need to find them.
Anyways, this ROM will stay stock and only speed enhancements will be implemented, and also I will just focus on stability and such. The customizations you would want will be in one of the Xposed Modules. I'll just give you a stock, clean, snappy ROM and it's up to you to customize it.
Off topic is welcome in this thread as long as you RESPECT each other.
In a nut shell: "This is the do it yourself customization ROM"
To know more about Xposed Framework. Go here: CLICK ME!!! or HERE!!!
For people wondering whats the story behind this ROM is, here's a brief explanation:
I built this ROM based on Google's concept of Android of letting end users customize Android as the way that they want to. And yes we all did a lot of that since Custom ROM's appeared in different ways. But, some of them only have limited features that other end users doesn't really use them. So that brought up the idea to make a ROM that incorporates Google's concept of putting the customization into the end users hands. So in a nut shell this ROM will give you the ability to customize it whatever you want to do with it, and thanks to the Xposed Framework app, it is possible now. But of course not all features of other custom ROM's are already in some xposed modules, but as development grows it's not impossible to have them in some modules. Well, that's about it, hope people would now understand why I built this for the community.
Cheers and Happy Customizing!

Sm 4.9 toolchain
For People who wants to work on their ROM to build it with SM 4.9, I'll be uploading all my file changes to my git. There's a lot so you really need patience with this. For CM 10.2 you can check @IAmTheOneTheyCallNeo's Git to get the commits for SM Toolchain to work. I got the Idea from there and modified some to make it work on AOSP. Went through trial and errors but its part of it. Anyways, just check out my git.
How to get Toolchain
Sabermod 4.9 Toolchain
Code:
mkdir arm-linux-androideabi-4.9
cd arm-linux-androideabi-4.9
git clone https://github.com/SaberMod/android_prebuilts_gcc_linux-x86_arm_sabermod-arm-linux-androideabi-4.9
Then after cloning, copy the directory to your $ source/prebuilts/gcc/linux-x86/arm/ Folder, Then after that the modifications and patching begins.

Is there some sort of thread that compiles alll these different version names in order of release? I've looked around but all these JLS, JSS etc. are confusing.
Also, wasn't the previous Gn0m3 version on JSS15R? Anything different with these updates and with SM 4.9.0?

I updated it to JLS36G since it's the newer revision, and this current build is built with the SM 4.9 Toolchain, the previous one is GCC 4.8, SM Toolchain has a lot of tweaks and patches that make it perform better. JLS36G is pure AOSP and JWR66Y is a modified stock version for people who does'nt want the deadlocks. Don't have time to merge both builds yet since I had a lot of time making SM 4.9 to work(A lot of patches to be applied). Hope that answers your question
Good job :good:

Kernel Source for hammerhead
Bugs, F.A.Q.s, and Notes
Q: Can I use the Screw'd kernel with other ROMs?
A: Technically yes, but why would you do that? The Screw'd kernel is a lightly modded kernel and was implemented specifically for the Screw'd ROM. It will work on AOSP ROMs, but not CM-based ROMs. I feel if you want a custom kernel, then go all out and flash ElementalX or Glitch or faux123's kernel. They have more mods than Screw'd kernel will ever have.
Q: Can you add (insert feature here) from (insert other ROM here) so it can be more like (insert other ROM here)?
A: If they have their source posted, then probably. If I feel it's needed or beneficial to performance then I'll consider it. As always, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device due to custom rom / kernel flashing & other lovely things that you do with it
It is expected of you to know what you are doing.
We intend this to be a friendly, learning thread.
Requests, Suggestions & feedback are always welcome.
Team Twisted would like to bring to you - Twisted Android Project
This has been a serious learning experience for all of us involved as well as a super fun trip
We totally enjoyed making this, and hope you like it as well.
We would first and foremost like to Thank all our friends., There are many, many devs here on XDA who have been patient with us and have always been there to lend a helping hand. It would be impossible to name all of you, but if we have spoken to you even once, we are deeply grateful for what you have done.
Something that may seem very simple to one person, would have probably helped us get out of a hole that we were stuck in for days
Help has been invaluable, we will not forget it!
Special thanks to our awesome Testers.Their constant support on a minute to minute basis has been incredible and invaluable There have been days of flashing 12-15 different builds in a session, and all of you have been so helpful, patient, and so much fun to be around, it made doing this a huge pleasure. Unknown usernames online have become good friends, and this is by far the best outcome of this project.
Thanks to all the folks over at the Slim Builder’s Collective, where all of this began
We would like to note that we do not take credit for any of the code for any of the features we have included. All thanks goes to the super awesome, and highly talented devs and teams. We have tried as far as possible to maintain credits in our GIT commit pages, but if in any instance during conflict resolution, or when we commit using SmartGit, the original author’s name has been obfuscated, please accept our apologies, do bring it to our attention, we will correct the oversight immediately. We are extremely thankful to all the coders out there who put out amazing new features, patches and updates that makes the Android experience a lot more brilliant…
This is our small contribution back to the community that taught us everything :good:
Thanks to SlimRoms, CM, OptiPop, Layers Team & many of the other open source projects out there.

Coming from stock or another ROM:
Factory Reset
Full wdata, wipe: system, cache, dalvik cache.
Flash latest firmwares if you haven't flash it yet.
Flash the Twisted build.
Flash gapps
DO NOT Flash latest SuperSU
Coming from previous Twisted build:
Flash the Twisted build.
No need to wipe dalvik-cache.
Layers Backup app in twisted apps allows you to retain the set layers after a dirty flash. We recognise the fact that there is a similar feature within Layers Manager, however there is a major difference.
You set all the layers you want, click on the backup & let it do it’s work. After you do a dirty flash, the ROM boots with your layers pre-installed. No need of a reboot.
If you are facing issues with the power button not responding, got to Display, check ‘Prevent accidental wake up’. Then switch it off again. Reboot.
Flashing SUperSU during ROM flash may result in losing Advanced Power Menu
No reason for xposed not to work on twisted. But if any issues, we may not be able to support them

Clarification;
1. ROM is cmte which is theme engine of cyanongenmod. Check play store or your favorite source for compatible themes.
2. Milestone release for this ROM will always be hosted in op. This release is from Mr.apocolypse, the creator and lead developer of screw'd.
3. Experimental releases can be found under download tab of this thread. Why? Because new features/code/stuff is added between release builds for testing, when/if the build is stable, the team can decide to share with users based on our own transgressions'./;. I.E. My personal builds.
4. Dragontc (dragon toolchain)(DTC) is a custom clang toolchain. we use dtc rather than google stock. regarding this, as of now milestone version and experimental version will use different builds of dtc. as milestone should use tracked from screwd github dtc and experimental my personal optimized build.
Yay , been following this on G+.
Great to see a thread here , awesome ROM guys :good:
Please edit the op though , this uses CM theme engine , not layers....

Latest experimental build is 3/15. Latest milestone is 4/09. I recommend flashing milestone as since that experimental build is not hosted here, I won't be supporting it. My builds (experimental) and milestones hosted here will be supported.

Also the link to the G+ is not working.

I'm not running this firmware, but the title states that it has "DU Nav" which would mean it has the Smart Bar and Fling from Dirty Unicorns firmware. It should be there somewhere.
