Is it possible to stream SPOTIFY with the gear s? Driving Navigation as well? - Samsung Gear S

New to owning the ATT version of gear s. Disappointed in lack of apps, no driving navigation, and cant listen to Spotify at gym. Is there a way around this?

Yes one could use Milk Music, but unfortunately it sucks compared to Spotify.

For driving navigation you can use the gear navigator standalone app

Music Player

Just trying to get an idea, what music player is everyone using? Currently I'm using Google Music but I have a new pair of headphones coming in the mail in a few days and want to get the best out of them. Share your thoughts!

Google music for the sync ability.

Google Music
I also use DSP Manager
EDIT: The dropbox link from the thread I got it from is invalid now. I'll link a download to mine. Place it in /system, set permissions (644), then place in /system/app. A reboot may be required for it to appear in your app drawer.

What is it exactly? Like a equalizer?

I also use DSP Manager which has several nice tweaks. It's what you're looking for if you want to get the most out of your headphones. You should definitely check that out.

Freaking awesome! I've know about dsp manager. Was happy to see it on the international roms. But it never did anything on my phone. Transferred the one you posted and finally works! Thank you so much!

I love google music. Having all my music in the web and not the phone is a lifesaver.

Personally, I'm using PlayerPro with its DSP Pack add-on for 10 band EQ. And if I happen to be on CM7, I add a little slight bass boost.

Well, looks like most are using Google Music, which is what I'm currently using. Once I get my new headphones, I'll try Google Music and see how the quality sounds.

Hi there. Let me chime in as well. I am using PlayerPro (paid) and I prefer it due to the interface and skin layout. I tried ProAmp and a bunch of others and they are not my cup of tea. I personally don't like google music interface. I also see not much sense in storing my music in the cloud where I can't access it when I am in the air. I am in the process of getting myself a 64GB sdxc and that will hold everything that I currently have on my Zune. As a side, I wish there were an app that lets you use the GS2 with my zune pass subscription, which lets you store your downloaded music subscription etc to your zune player. Currently you can't play this content on the GS2. I am using Klipsch S4 and they are excellent, and for air travel I may switch them on occasion with my audio-technica noise cancelling ear buds.

The EQ app? Just "Equalizer" from the market. I use it since G-Music sounds flat out of the box.

I think PlayerPro has the best interface/sound combo with PowerAmp a close second. I've paid for both.
PlayerPro is the easiest/most intuitive of any player I've tried. The ability to pick the artist photos is a huge plus in my book.
Also, I own those Klipsch S4 earbuds. They sound great!

(Q) Poweramp through bluetooth?

Is there any way I can play my music on Poweramp through a bluetooth speaker? You can with stock music player, but I haven't found a way to do it with Poweramp yet. It's bugging me. Lol.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks in advance!

It would have been so very nice had there been a meaningful response to this question rather than a simple "it works for me". It would also help if PowerAmp had some helpful, easy-to-find documentation. I obviously didn't think my purchase through completely before I made it last night.....

I don't actually use it any more, although not for this reason.
IIRC, you just turn on Bluetooth and play something in Poweramp. If your Bluetooth connects okay it'll just play through the Bluetooth connection.
TL;DR - It seems to play through a connected Bluetooth device automatically

To answer your question currently no because the youths app needs to be open to play the video or it will just pause. But if multiwindow feature gets working well once its out of beta than maybe. Look at the options provided above for another choice.

Oh, i also like Play Music, but i have years of playlists on Spotify, so i can't leave it. Also, All Access isn't available in Norway yet. The player itself is pretty good though, and i have quite a few albums uploaded on their servers, so that's nice to have.

great interface, pretty intelligent suggestions, excellent quality (320 kbs if bandwidth sufficient), good on resources and smooth playback.

Yeah, can appreciate that. portify is about the best way to transfer playlists but I think it needs all access.

Possible to control Spotify and play to Bluetooth speaker?

I often listen to spotify with my note 4 hooked up to a bluetooth speaker, and I am considering buying the gear S. I understand from other threads on here that the gear S can control spotify; but I would like to know when my gear S is hooked up to my phone via bluetooth; is it still possible to hook up to a bluetooth speaker?
Thank you .
