What email app are you using on your V10? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What email app are you using on your V10 and how do you like it?
I was using "Mailbox" from Dropbox but they are doing away with the app so I need something new that is fast and efficient.
I'm looking for an app that provides instant push notifications and has the little round badge count that shows up on the icon.
Any suggestions?

I use myMail: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.my.mail&hl=et
That's really good. There are ads sometimes, which are in your inbox after like every 10 mails or smth like that. But luckily those come very seldom.

gmail all day every single day

Gmail for me, too. Download the latest Exchange Services APK from APK mirror and you can also set up corporate accounts on Gmail.

+1 on using Gmail

K-9 best email app
gmail blows, okay before you google boys go crazy, that's my opinion!

That is. Very nice multi-account support; I do have 7 accounts configured there and it's been the best combined inbox experience for me with the most features.

Gmail / mymail

Stock.
Don't judge me.....

I just switched to the stock email client from cloudmagic. I like how I am able to just sign in the cloudmagic app on any phone and all of my email accounts along with set signatures will sync. No need to add each one.. I have 8 email accounts.
The only thing that is missing from the stock v10 email app is the ability to delete/mark read/archive from the notification. Other than that it is verry light and smooth. The search function is also quicker than cloudmagic.

myemail +1

I ended up using AquaMail Pro. It does everything the standard email & Gmail apps do plus it supports extras like.... I can send one email to a specific "group" in my contacts.

HTC Mail, best mail app anyone has come up with to date.

I think Aquamail Pro tops them all.

Gmail for Gmail. Nine for Exchange mail.

[Q] How to consolidate all my email to one application

Hi all,
I recently bought a Droid 2 Global. It has 3 mail apps: 1 app from motorola, 1 app from verizon and 1 gmail app. How to consolidate all three to just one. I can import my yahoo mails to one of the universal mail apps. But not able to import emails from my google app mail account.
So currently i am using gmail app and an universal email app for yahoo.
What should i do to consolidate all my accounts. Iphone is very straight forward. Droid is confusing .
Any suggestions are welcome.

You can always pop your other accounts into gmail, apply a label and be done with it. This is how I manage my emails.
Look in the market for K9 Mail.
Will do all your emails (multiple accounts) and even throw them into a unified inbox display if you want.

This. i have a gmail account for myself, and a seperate one for my band. i link my band email to my personal one and slap a label on it and call it done. then i when i sign into my personal email using the gmail app, my band emails are automatically there, dont even have to bother putting in the login info for that email address.

Sounds like a great idea
I have a little different issue. I have a mail account to which I have two different mail addresses assigned (one is alias).
I would like to send some official mails from one address, which contains my name, and some personal mails or mails to "unknown" people who do not need to know my name from the second address.
On PC, in Mozilla Thunderbird, is option for "identities" where you can add additional mail address/identity to the same account.
Is there any mail client for Android which could do it also? Other option is to run two mail accounts with same server and login settings and different mail address, but in that case I will receive each incomming mail to both.
Hope I explained it well
Thanks in advance for advices.
K9 mail is what I use.
Push email for my aol and gmail accounts.
The stock email application does not offer push for many providers.

But I don't want to just push mails from different accounts.I want to push from one account using two different source addresses. And I should be able to choice from which I want to push.

The best cliente Mail is the Enhanced Email.
First input your gmail acount to active the others acount.
Sorry for my bad english.
My "issue" was solved...found in K9 option for identities...

Hey, theecho... I have looked for an option to "just pop" my other accounts in to Gmail, and and can't see how I could. When I try to just add another email account into gmail (a pop3 for example, one I already have within the 'blur' email app) Gmail politiely tells me I already have this account added.
How do I do what you've suggested?
Dan

[Q] which email app do you use and why please.?

Please as title states, which email app do you guys prefer, on the sg2, and why please. I want to be able to use gmail, so jus want to findout what you guys are using, to receive or send your gmail emails. I also want the option to schedule the sync, so your input very much required.
I use the stock Gmail app for my gmail. gmail isn't my primary account so not bothered by any failings, etc.
I use K9 for my main non-gmail personal account. Am very happy with it, can schedule timings and specify a quiet time, when I don't want to be distured by email notifications (i.e. when I'm asleep).

I use gmail and have set it (via the web app) to collect hotmail and another pop3 account, so it's perfect for me as I have all emails in 1 app, and I do like the gmail app!

Apologies for the delayed reply.
I think it's as follows:
Menu --> More --> Settings --> Account Settings --> Fetching Mail:
"Folder Poll Frequency".
Also under the above and within --> Advanced:
"Refresh IDLE connection".
I "think" that's what you're after... to be honest mine has always just worked.
Hope it helps!
i like samsung's email app. Only thing i cant figure out is how to put it to push.
I tried the Samsung E-Mail app but it really pissed me off more and more. You can hardly make any settings, just specify how many mails to load (timeframe) and how often to update, that's about it. the funtionality and look are standard.
I switched to K9 mail again and instantly remembered why I always came back to that app. Not only does my Push work flawlessly for both accounts (one business, one private that collects) without any "premium" account hassle making use of that annoying social hub, but I can specify all sorts of settings like how much data to transfer by default per mail, to load images, and many many more.

to make push work you have to set your mail account as an imap account. to do so you need to make it a premium account which leads you to samsung collecting your mails via the social hub ... I'd recommend k9 mail. looks the same, and you can make almost any necessary setting.
The stock Gmail app does everything I could ask for
I switched to EnhancedEmail when I used to have a DHD as the stock email client didn't sync contacts and calendars probably.
Enhanced did all the syncing perfectly, however, it just did not allow Exchange accout contacts to be created or added (i dont really know if the stock email client had the same problem or not).
With the SGS2, i used EnhancedEmail first, but recently switched to the stock samsung email client - it seems to work flawlessly, albeit, with the limitations to customisations stated by others. I use Exchange (both my my company email and hotmail) on Push, and at that, it is good enough for my usage.

Plus the stock mail app draines more battery then k9 due to being more active or active in the wrong way I don't know, but there is a big difference, at least on my phone.

How do you save email attachments?

I've done a search and couldnt find anything, so forgive if this is a repost.
I can't seem to figure out how to save an email attachment to the SD card. I am getting KML emails from geocaching.com and when i click on the file, i get the "unable to open the file" error, which is fine. I just want to save it to a folder i made on the SD card for my geocaching program.
I don't use stock email. I use k9 mail. Are you pressing and holding on attachment until a menu pops up? If the stock mail isn't working I suggest k9 mail from the market.

Same here.
I used to use K9 also, but I find it completely unnecessary in the Rezound and get faster mail updates with the stock email on push.
Is k9 really that good? Seems like everyone uses it now, I personally like the stock mail app from HTC.

I use the paid version kaiten. Mail and it does work very well, best email app I've used yet.
Does stock email have access to folders? I need to be able to acres them which kaiten mail does.

As an email administrator, I need access to a number of email systems. I use Touchdown for exchange email access, gmail for my primary gmail account and k9 for a variety of other pop and imap accounts, including a few gmail accounts since the gmail app is so poor at handling notification email.
In the past the default email apps have not been consistent enough. I have not even tried the default email app on the Rezound yet as I just moved my profiles over from my Dinc when I got it with the email tools I have been already using for years.
K9 works well with a lot of email systems and has the ability to use multiple identities for combined inbound email accounts so you don't have to setup multiple mailboxes.

Gmail app vs. Built In Email

Whats the difference? I can add my Gmail app to the built in email app, so doesn't that work the same? Whats the advantage of the official Gmail app? I just find it unnecessary to have all my emails in the built in email app and a separate app for just my Gmail. This is mostly just a curiosity post.

Email is able to use multiple accounts from multiple services, where as Gmail is only for Gmail.
The Email app is just for basic Email usage while the Gmail app has some Gmail specific features like Drive connection and what not. Personally, I always remove the Email app and install Gmail.

It probably has a lot of features I dont use. I was just curious. I have other email accounts (Yahoo, work, etc.) so I use the default app. Didnt really find the purpose of having one for just Gmail.

Just personal taste I guess. Since I only use Gmail, I just use that app.

I'm with you, never really use gmail, don't care for the layout
hate how emails show up in Gmail. it always does a zoomed in view and it wont let me pinch to zoom or change to overview. just makes me mad
The stock mail app doesn't have push option like it does for hotmail and live.
Anyway to have hotmail, live and Gmail in one app and have push mail?

Mail client and late notifications

Hi all, I have 4 accounts in my mail. I need a simple light client that works like mail on iPhone (where you can see the unread folder for all the 4 accounts altogether).
Moreover, the Gmail app and the stock mail app you found in the phone both receive mails only when you refresh the app itself or very late from when your account actually received the mail.
Is there a solution?

For 7 email accounts, I was using Newton, paid for two years. Now i am using Email from Edison Software. I am sure you can find them from play store. Both of them are working fine to me.
The only flaw is Email from Edison Software doesn't support rich text signature. I sent an email to developer about 1 year ago request this feature. They promised they are working on it.
I've just switched to outlook.
It brings all of my Gmail accounts emails perfectly including the spam into outlooks spam folder.
It also let's you move received emails into your separate folders.
You can import your Google calendar.
And it does exactly what you want and shows all email accounts on the same page.
