i bought a new in the box samsung vibrant off craigslist to use on simple mobile, i unlocked the vibrant it works on both at&t and H20 but not t-mobile or simple mobile. anyone out there have a solution i can't call t-mobile since i am not an account holder and advice would be appreciated
bad simcard or if the phone is registered on diferent carrier put timobile sim card and try to unlock your phone with it
its not the sim card it works fine in my mytouch 4g with simple mobile, the sim is not blocked i believe the phone must be block from system by imei
put the simcard in and unlock the phone again ! ! duhh

sarcasim is a good thing but maybe you aren't comprehending what i am saying duhh!!
i own NSPRO box and have unlocked the galaxy S phones quite frequently, the phone is sim unlocked for any sim card or gsm carrier, what i am saying has nothing to do with unlocking with the sim card in( which i tried for ****s and giggles). the problem is the vibrant is not recognized on the network , i have tried my sim and several other t-mobile sims the phone doedn't receive signal on t-mobile network or simple mobile( which is a NVO of t-mobile)so what i am asking is does t-mobile block imei's from their network and is their a solution other then changing imei of the phone which i do not wish to do although i can change imei i will not since it is illegal.

clone another imei, that will solve this problem, There is an app that allows you to give you a new I D # to your phone
I am same problem here everytime try to make call it says "Not Registered on the Network", SIM card works fine on different phone, also other SIM when inserted on Vibrant gives same message.
Under Settings> Wireless> Mobile network settings does not allow access...
Can someone help resolve this situation.

having the same problem. I purchased a used Vibrant from my friend whom defaulted on his bill so he sold his phone to me. When I attempt to use the T Mobile prepaid SIM or a regular T Mobile SIM it will not allow me to connect to the network. It stays on (Searching) or (No Service) but the date and time updates so I know it is connecting, just not able to use the network. Is there anyway to get around this problem or do I need to root and unlock to go to another carrier?

I was using bionix 1.3.1 by team whiskey, whats your advice do I change to ICS, will that solve the problem or simple radio upgrade will solve the matter? I have gone through several sites and found that this problem is with many android mobiles since last 2-3 years. Is there no solution to this yet! My phone is unlocked and it only works on AT&T, the sim card is good, as I'm using it on my backup phone.

Same here. This all happened when I let my friend borrow my phone to put his SIM on it. It was a prepaid Simple Mobile SIM. It didn't work but after I went to put my SIM card back into my Vibrant, the phone never got service.
Funny thing is, my SIM works on one of my older phones, so I know the SIM still works, but my Vibe gets messages like "out of service" and "not registered on network" even through it still has some bars.

Somehow the bands on your device is messed up so you never get a signal. Not sure how to fix it but any solutions would be great.

Few months back i had purchased LG G Flex 2 for my dad who is a reliance CDMA subscriber and was looking for a decent phone which is hard to fimd in india.
i had bought a phone from a guy who specializes in imported cdma phones.
Everything was working fine till end of April, 2016. We had received a message from rcom saying they upgrading all their cdma customers to 4G. So we need to get a new sim from reliance store.
So i was worried if my dad's phone would work on gsm too or not?
So i tried to put the GSM sim in the phone and check if it works as the phone supports both gsm and cdma.
so this is what i did,
1. in mobile network selected gsm/lte and removed the sim card which in turn automatically rebooted the phone.
2. while the phone rebooting i swapped my cdma sim with vodafone gsm sim.
3. the phone received the signal and i was able to make a call. i was delighted.
4. now i selected the cdma/evdo option in mobile network and followed the above process and re swapped with reliance CDMA sim. But to my surprise the phone shows "Service Disabled" , whereas same CDMA sim worked fine with my CDMA only hanset.
Also, i was not able to check the network option as the phone disabled the Mobile Network option.
5. Now i tried with another reliance CDMA SIM and swapped with the actual reliance CDMA SIM. The phone showed the signal and I could make a call.
6. Again i reswapped the new Reliance CDMA sim with my vodafone gsm sim. To my surprise the phone was showing "Service Disabled", whereas it worked fine on gsm only phone. So i also tried with the reliance CDMA sim that had worked and the phone said "Service Disabled". In the whole process of swapping reswapping and juggling between so many sims, I forgot what option was last checked in mobile network.
7. this strange behaviour seems as if the phone is accepting the New SIM and rejecting it once swapped reswapped with something else.
NOTE :
1. Phone when purchased was already rooted having the following app already installed 1) root browser, 2) supersu 3) shortcut master(lite).
2. Phone is on android Lollipop and software info says LS996ZV7
3. The phone backcover says LG U+LTE x8, and i m not sure if its a sprint variant.
I am trying to search web since last 3 days on the issue but nothing is helping.
Its my dads business phone and he yelling at me for screwing it. He is using an alternate phone for time being but I wanna resolve the problem at earliest.

I got a sim from another providor, poped it in and message on lg G3 says "not Verizon sim" ok what ever I checked SIM card info via apps and it sees the providor and the sim but the phone will not connect to it and just says invalid. I checked the sim state and it says NETWORK LOCKED I called Verizon and they said the units are not locked. But as you can see my phone shows it must be. Searched for 5 hours and I found u lock codes for ever version on the lg G3 except that Verizon (vs985) what am I missing?!

Verizon phones are not SIM/network locked.
The notification that you don't have a Verizon SIM in its only a notification and doesn't prevent you from using anything that's compatible.
Did you put the APN in for whatever network you're using?
Did you check to see if the VS985 supports the radio bands that the network you're using requires? There are some bands that can be unlocked, see the thread in the General section for that.

I did add the bands and rebooted but does not seem this phone can work with the service I randomly get a invalid sim card (but I have 2 and work on tmobile phones) but seems not to work on the lg G3 global and yes i added the pan but it can't even connect to service just clames there is no service thanks for the reply man

I have issue while having both sims activated.
Mostly the main Sim card slot sim loses signals and sometime it's not connecting mobile data. I have to restart my phone in such situations.
If only one sim used at a time, then everything is fine.
Does anyone know the problem or the situation.

Phone is branding Verizon and the range of the phone is limited
Works only on
Network mode LTE/GSM/UMTS-----(Global and LTE/CDMAnot working lose its range completely)
Network sub-network UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+only-------(LTE/Legacy3GPP multi and GSM/GPRS/EDGEonly makes it lose its range completely :/ )
After the purchase the phone had branding Tmobile and all everything worked well but rushed hardbrick and i must change software.
When the phone is turned on, it pops up <Unfortunately, LG VPN was stopped> and <This SIM card is not part of the Verizon Wireless network>
Anyone help me? :/
