Phone reastart when flashing rom in recover (phone is rooted and installed xzrecovery - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I am a newbie here, I have a problem with flashing the rom (zip file) in the recovery that is my phone will crash (restart instead). And I have my phone locked bootloader here is what I have done to my phone
1) using flashtool to downgrade to a rootable rom ( 23.1.A.1.28 )
2) after flashing I use kingroot to root, after that install busybox and last install xzrecovery.
3) after I reboot my phone to twrp recovery and wipe data to perform a rom install (twrp version v2.8.6.0 )
But when I install the rom my phone restart and I stuck and the Sony logo boot screen.
How do I solve this problem.
Thanks

I m not sure about that **** of kingroot.
Downgrade firmware to. 314 kit kat and than root and install recovery and finall y try to flash rom.
For locked BL you must flash stock based custom roms.

[Q] Dead Z2

Hi gusy, yesterday i received my vodafone Z2, 6503, DE. I succeeded in taking an backup of that TA partitions, unlocked my bootloader and had root afterwards on firmware .323.
In Detail:
->stock D6503_17.1.2.A.0.323_Vodafone DE
->root by Easy Root Kit
->TA Backup
->unlocked bootloader
->TA Recovery
->Installed Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.7.XXX-BETA.installer.zip from here :
So far so good. Stock rom with root (checked with root checker) and able to enter the recovery using quickboot
-> copied newest CM11 nightly + gapps
-> entered TWRP Recovery
-> Factory Reset (ink wipe)
-> flashed CM11
and now... not even a SONY Logo, only vibrating. Ideas? Thanks a lot!
Edit: I was able to restore the 323 FW with the flashtool and stock image. The question is... how to get CM11 now without bricking the device

You can use flashtool, but you needed before a ftf rom.
Find a guide how to flash a rom with flashtool

Recovering yout TA locks your bootloader again... and you can't use CM11 on locked bl keep your BL unlocked for CM, restore TA only if you need to go to stock or send phone to warranty.

New to Sony Devices

Ok so im by no means new to rooting and roms and the like since ive rooted every phone ive had over the last 5 years but for the life of me i can not seems to figure out these sony devices. So i downloaded and flashed the new 5.1.1 ftf thru flashtool last night and everything is working fine. I have google and searched thru xda about ways to root and i thought the first step would be to install XZdual recovery but i downloaded nuts installer and ran it which seems to have worked but it still does nothing whether trying to manually enter recovery or doing it thru adb. Ok guys what am i doing wrong? Any help would be great!
Must downgrade to 4.4.2, the XZDR will root and install a recovery, then you install a pre rooted package or modified but stock-based 5.1.1 ROM, you won't loose root or recovery; but you wont be able to update via "official" methods like OTA or PC Companion because you have modified the phone's software.
Step # 1 is downgrade to 4.4.2 (314 build number works like a charm)
Damn what a pain but thank you for the reply at least thats a start since there are lots of guides for rooting 4.4.2 lol. Thanks
You don't have to downgrade to kitkat, You can downgrade to lollipop 5.0.2 (by flashing a new ftf via flashtool) and root via king root and install recovery via xzrecovery app (after getting root access) and then follow these steps:
1.Download a pre-rooted firmware 5.1.1 (flashable zip)
2.Boot into Recovery (TWRP Recommend)
3.Install - Choose ROM direction - flash the ROM zip and wipe cache\dalvik cache
(don't worry this won't wipe your data)
# I highly recommend you to do a factory reset after flashing because if you didn't the phone will be laggy and battery will drain extremely fast
*And If you have xposed installed don't forget to remove it because it may causes problems
If I Helped, Leave A Thanks ?

If your going to downgrade to an older version of Android, why not go to a version of Android that can be rooted by an app that that doesn't require internet access or all the permissions of kingroot?
Kingroot requires a lot of permissions on your phone to complete something fairly basic.

Want rooted Marshmallow...helf plz

hi ..
i m on official unrooted MM..i want rooted MM ..
if i flash a pre rooted tft in flashtool directly without downgrading,will it work for me or give me bootloop etc?

You must downgrade. It is fast and easy. Also, you CANNOT flash a modified .ftf firmware.

It is easier on kit kat build 314, because the old XZDR (Z2-lockeddualrecovery2.8.21-RELEASE.installer) roots and installs the recovery in one step. When the phone reboots you can install a Marshmallow ROM and that's it.

Having problems establishing root

A bit of background here:
I am trying to get setup for a fresh install of [ROM][LOLLIPOP][LB/UB][5.1.1] eXistenZ Premium | 7.0.0 | FINAL | 16/02.
As per that threads directions:
Fresh installation:
LOCKED & UNLOCKED Bootloaders
Flash latest rootable Sony's rom with flashtool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2162907)
Root
Install NUT dual recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2261606) or the recovery of your choice.
Reboot in recovery, Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik/ART Cache.
Flash the rom.
Flash update if available.

So I am struggling getting a "lastest rootable sony" stock ROM working with root. All my tools are working just fine (ADB/Fastboot/Flashtools/PRFCreator) and bootloader is unlocked, I've just been out of this way too long. I can get a stock FTF file flashed but I just can't get root. I think I really just need to know which FTF to grab and which root technique I should be using for that FTF version. I've tried grabbing some older FTF's (KK) but I still haven't had much luck with root. The flashtools root techiques all give me the same "ERROR - Illegal key size or default parameters". With my understanding and past experience this really should be an easy task but it is definitely not being so right now.
Any specific advise I would really appreciate right now.
To be clear right now:
Boot loader is unlocked
Tools are working ADB/fastboot/Flashtools
No custom recovery
No Root
I can flash any FTF no problem
i get root with this method, downgrade to KK, root and recovery (root in KK is easy) then flash via recovery any custom rom, in your case eXistenZ
What version the firmware are you using and what root technique?
I tried a KK version and towelroot app. App reported root was achieved but it wasn't.
Going to try 23.0.1.A.0.167 which should be KK 4.4.4 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759934
Best root Method for kk 4.4.4?
Shouldn't be too confusing if you done it before. Basically you are going to flash a custom kernel with built in recovery and flash a SuperSU zip to get root before flashing your rom.
1. Download and flash stock Lollipop 5.1.1 FTF (either 232 or 264) with flashtool.
2. Download AndroPlus Kernel for Z2 here.
3. Flash with fastboot.
4. Download SuperSu zip and place onto SD card.
5. Boot into recovery and flash the zip. Reboot without wiping anything.
6. Download your ROM, in your case eXistenZ and place on SD card.
7. Reboot in recovery, Wipe Data, Cache and Dalvik/ART Cache.
8. Flash ROM and update.
9. Reboot and you're done.

I really need help

Hi, today I was more than seven hours on PCr and tried this....unsuccessfully... I'm really desperate
I have:
-Xperia Z2 (D6503)
-Android 6.0.1
-newest firmware 23.5.A.1.291
-UNlocked bootloader
I am trying to install root, twrp recovery and custom ROM ( specifically this ROM ). But i cannot enter to the recovery mode...
Official twrp-3.0.2-0 succesfully flashed in fastboot but when i try command "fastboot reboot recovery" the mobile only load android and turns on normally... the combination hardware buttons also do not work.
The next question is, What is a kernel ? I have successfully installed this kernel .... Could this be the reason why I can't load the recover mode?
Please help me, I don't know what to do anymore :crying: all I want is root and custom rom
EDIT: okay, i successfully root phone and finally i have access to recovery mode (TWRP 3.0.2-0) by THIS TUTORIAL now i need help with installing the custom ROM step-by-step because if I turn something wrong and phone will be bricked again, I guess I'll kill myself xD so What is next step for install custom ROM please ? Can I just download THIS, install the zip in TWRP and that´s all ???
Yup you can install it by recovery steps:

before you do this you should backup all your important data
1-wipe data factory reset
2- wipe cache
3- install zip rom
4- download google apps and install it by recovery it should be a zip file
5-repot system and enjoy
the recovery is like twrp or cwm it's not a kernel
there is 2 type of kernel :
1-kernel itself
2-kernel with merged recovery
about the kernel and recovery, there is deference the kernel is very important for system to work it connects between the hardware and the software and every operating system has its own kernel but here in android they sometimes merge kernel with recovery but when you flash-kernel or recovery every one replace each other be careful and know that, don't worry you won't brick something in the near future when you will install custom ROMs you will notice that.
if you need any help you can ask me
