- Updated sources and everything to latest 3.0.2 release from twrp
- fixed vibration not working
- fixed mtp not working
- lot of other improvements
- download in the same folder as before: Android Filehost download
CHANGELOG for 2.8.7.1:

for a better changelog visit here
CHANGELOG for 2.8.7.0:
- Initial release with f2fs support!
DOWNLOAD:
For our kccat6 (Galaxy S5 Plus) we don't have any official support, so I have my own mirrors, you can download the recovery from here:
Android Filehost Link. There are two version, one for flashing with your current recovery (the zip file) and one for flashing with odin. For odin select AP tab and add the twrp file, flash it on your phone using download mode.
If we ever get official support:
Most devices can be updated quickly and easily with the TWRP Manager app, but the S5 plus does not have official support! Here would be the app:
Play Store Link
1) Install TWRP Manager from the Play Store
2) Open TWRP Manager and provide root permissions
3) Hit Advanced->Install Recovery
4) Verify the correct device name on your screen then press Install Recovery if the correct device is showing
5) You can find more information and download links on our NEW website!
BUGS:
- If you have found another bug, please consider posting it to our github issues log. It's pretty much impossible for us to keep up with the more than 40 threads that we have for the devices that we "directly" support. If you have a significant problem that cannot be answered in this thread, your best bet is to PM me directly, contact us via our website, or find us in our IRC channel below. If you see someone that's struggling, feel free to point it out to us. We need your help to help us keep track of all of our devices! Thanks!

How come I can't even install TWRP? The flashing of TWRP.tar via odin is a success, but after booting to recovery mode, it is just the stock recovery, am I missing something? I tried flashing both TWRP 2.8.7.0 and 2.8.7.1 but did not work.
EDIT: I think my phone has a problem, I cannot install ANY recovery, stock recovery is rewriting it... I guess? I tried PhilZ, old versions of TWRP (for G901F) but didn't work. Can someone please help me?

Just left the office, and reflashed the older version before leaving, which backs up fine, been using it for a while now. Once I'm home, wife and kids allowing, I'll reflash the newer version and see if I can get you some logs.
---------- Post added at 05:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:52 PM ----------
Okay, just got the laptop out on the train, reflashed the new recovery and tried again. When the backup crashes, it literally turns off the phone or reboots it (reboot first time, power down on second). So when I went go back into recovery and copy log to sdcard, it seems to only be the logs for the post crash session. No logs for the lead up to the crash.

Hi backup fails to complete.
raised issue here https://github.com/TeamWin/Team-Win-Recovery-Project/issues/548
At 25% complete the phone reboots itself back into twrp.
By the way I read you switched to marshmallow, isnt a recovery supposed to be cross version compatible? As I want to backup my existing kitkat rom before trying marshmallow. So I want my recovery able to backup kitkat as well as restore it if needed.

[RECOVERY] TWRP 2.8.3.0 for Galaxy Tab 4 8 inch

Support is discontinued. Between the 6 different variants that I made this recovery for, it has been downloaded less than 500 times total over a 2 month period. That tells me that this device is simply not popular enough for continued support.
Here is TWRP 2.8.3.0 (unofficial) for the Galaxy Tab 4, 8in (T330 & T331 & T335 & T337T & T360 & T365).
This has been briefly tested by @Rusell, but please be aware that there may be a few bugs still. I do not own this device, so please be very specific when reporting any bugs you may find.
This is not a "direct from source build" (I will eventually switch to that method), but instead, it is a port from my Tab 31x version using stock Tab 4 zImage and DT image.
NOTES:
The new MTP feature of TWRP may cause issues with ADB access while in recovery. You may need to toggle "Disable MTP" a from the "mounts" menu to get ADB access.
64gb sdcards are reported to not work in this TWRP
All versions of TWRP occasionally give the "can't mount /system" error. If you get this error, simply reboot recovery and try again.
Click HERE for the latest version.
Please report any bugs here in this thread and attach the recovery.log. Advanced --> Copy log to SDcard --> Then attach the log to your post.
Credits go to:
@Rusell for initial testing
and of course the Team Win group
Supplied in 3 formats:
Odin flashable tar.md5 (for first time installation)
Recovery flashable zip (requires a custom recovery to currently be installed)
.img file (for those who use Flashify or other direct methods).
Instructions for ODIN: (use the one with "tar" in the name)
Download ODIN on your computer.
Power off the device.
Restart in "Download Mode" by holding the "HOME" button, "Volume Down" and "Power" all at the same time (for about 5 seconds).
Hit the "Volume Up" to enter download mode.
Start the ODIN exe program. Un-check Auto Reboot. See notes about ODIN below.
Connect the device via USB to your computer. Verify the device shows as "Added" in the Message box. If it doesn't show then you need the Samsung USB drivers (just install KIES to get them).
Select "PDA" then choose the recovery file you want to flash.
Hit "START". Wait for Odin to finish (~10-15 seconds). The message area will display "RES OK" when finished.
Restart directly to recovery mode before rebooting into OS.(Hold POWER, Volume UP, and the HOME button all at the same time. When you see the Samsung Logo, let go of the POWER button, but keep holding the Volume UP and HOME until you see the recovery screen).
After you get the custom recovery working, you can flash the latest SuperSu zip to get root.
Notes about ODIN
--Make sure that "Re-Partition" is NOT checked.
--Auto Reboot can be un-checked if TWRP doesn't flash correctly on your device. Some have reported that un-checking Auto Reboot fixes this issue. If you un-check Auto Reboot, you will need to reboot the device yourself (refer back to step 9).
Flash at own risk!!!!
I take no responsibility for anything you do to your device. Flashing any custom recovery will trip KNOX.

If you will send me the T331 boot.img or recovery.img, I will do it. But, you have to test it for me.

Ok, the reason you still see the screen timeout settings is because that info was saved in the TWRP settings file. This would only affect you because no-one else has flashed a version that had screen timeout. If you delete the TWRP/.twrps file from your internal storage, then you won't see the timeout settings anymore. That page will only show brightness control. Either way, the timeout is disabled and should cause no more problems. :good:
Thanks for testing!
Flashing TWRP recovery successful on sm-T330nu
I have successfully flashed TWRP recovery on my Tablet, sm-T330nu
using the easy instructions provided by the OP, gr8nole.
I tested this recovery by flashing the supersu 2.40 and did a backup of
the stock rom. This recovery is great and working fine.
I have not face any screen freeze up during this test.
When wiping cache/dalvik, it takes a bit long about 4 mins to finished.
Thank you gr8nole for your hard work and great TWRP.
The stock rom backup using this TWRP recovery
is 2.89gb large. This stock rom had many not needed
apps removed and only a few small games.
Is this backup size normal for a stock rom of
a samsung tablet T330nu ?

That doesn't seem to be too big. Samsung roms are typically very big. Look into the backup folder and see what the size of the pieces of the backup are. It may be a lot of data.
Edit: On my Tab 3, my backup is about 3 gb with a mildly debloated Samsung rom.

Thank you for your quick explaination about
the backup rom size. I am glad it is the normal
size for this tablet. This is my first samsung tablet
so I am still learning a lot about using it.
For some reason this won't install for me in odin. I go through the process and when I boot into recovery it takes me into stock recovery. I renamed the file T330.TWRP.2.8.2.0.v2.tar.md5.exe with .tar extension and it flashes but but when I go into recovery its stock recovery.
thanks
I will upload recovery.img and boot.img of my smt331

Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or twrp3 for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Notes for themers: In addition to the udpated theme, we have introduced a theme version variable to the TWRP theme system. If the theme version does not match the version that TWRP expects, TWRP will reject the custom theme and load its stock theme. This change will ensure that people who update TWRP without updating their theme will still have a workable recovery. We have removed libjpeg support. The stock theme was only using a jpeg image for the splash / curtain. This change means that any custom themes will no longer be able to use jpeg images. It also means that tools used to repack recovery images with a different curtain / splash will need to be updated to use the new method.
Version number notes: For a while we’ve been using a 4 digit version number and reserved the 4th digit for device-specific updates. For instance, we find and fix a device-specific issue like decryption of data on Nexus 5, we would release that as a 2.8.7.1. After a while, some people would start asking where 2.8.7.1 was for other devices. So, going forward we have decided to change the numbering scheme to 3.0.0-2, etc. Our hope is that this version numbering scheme will more clearly identify that the 4th digit does not indicate a version change for the code base.
Note: As always, be sure your custom theme is up to date (or remove your custom theme) before updating TWRP.
System read only option: Devices that ship with 5.0 and higher as their initial OS are using block level OTA updates. With this style of OTA update, the update script checks to see if the system partition has ever been mounted read/write. Further, the script also usually runs an SHA sum of the entire system partition to detect if any changes have been made. If any changes have been made, the OTA update will refuse to install. Since not all OEMs and devices have factory images available, we have created a new feature in TWRP that detects if the system partition has ever been mounted read/write. If not, you will be prompted asking if you want TWRP to mount system as read/write. If you choose not to allow TWRP to mount as read/write, TWRP won't prompt to install SuperSU and TWRP won't try to patch the stock ROM to prevent TWRP from being replaced by stock recovery. The goal of this option is to hopefully allow the user to make a raw system image backup that they can use to get back to a state where they can take OTA updates again.
resize2fs feature: On some devices like the Nexus 6, the factory images include a userdata image that is the proper size only for the 32GB units. If you flash the factory image to a 64GB Nexus 6, the data partition will appear as if it only has the free space of a 32GB device. Using the resize2fs option, TWRP can resize your data partition to take up the full space available. The resize2fs may also be useful to resize system partitions on devices where custom ROM system images don't take up the full partition space. Lastly, resize2fs may be useful in some cases to reserve the proper space at the end of a data partition for a full disk encryption key, should your partition be formatted incorrectly for some reason.

As always, flash anything under your own discretion
Root
This Rom comes with Magisk root, You can easily flash Magisk 17.1 overtop after setting up the system and then rebooting to recovery.
Gapps: I am using BeansGapps-Mini-7.1.x-20170725.zip
Helpful files:
https://mega.nz/#F!JMYSSCLQ
Key: !xgQFTB69PE-hL8RTUbpUIw
Firmware
https://mega.nz/#F!oAZ3yC4b!
Key: MDwbHXNTRdrpgMvQ42yviw
If you have safetynet issues, follow the steps below
Extract the boot.img file from the rom, and placed the boot image into storage.
Open Magisk and use install to Patch Magisk to the boot.img.
Reboot to recovery, install the patched boot.img to boot
Flash addonsu-15.1-arm-signed.zip, and then reflash Magisk again, from storage then use advanced options to clear cache, and then reboot to system.
With these steps you will always Pass Safetynet and be playstore certified

Build Prop Recommendations
After the installation and initial testing period,. you may decide to continuing using Flyme for a while:
If so you can further optimise the ROM with these build prop and edits posted below.
First backup your existing buildprop
* ro.product.locale.language = en ( or your language)
* ro.product.locale.region = IN or your country
* persist.sys.timezone = your country ( see proper entry here: https://gist.github.com/arpit/1035596)
* persist.sys.meizu.region =
or use persist.sys.oem.region= your country google correct acronym for your country
Reserved for future hints
Thanks I will try and feedback

Me Too!
Yes, I tried it and the same thing happened to me, it must be a corrupt download because people are giving the release a 8.3/10. I found a slightly older but highly rated rogue pig version. ( see same link above)
I installed it successfully and must say, it's actually extremely good.
Corruption
The original newer file is probably just corrupted so I am going to try redownloading it. Until then, check out the other version that I placed in the same megadrive folder see the link above. Yes, it's a little older but its actually awesome!
I just attempted to find the newer rom by cold ruthless on the BBS website, has he been banned. I had a bookmark saved and when I click I get this message " Authors are banned or deleted automatically blocked" Not sure if its the same person or not, if this next download is corrupt. I would still recommend flyme_LEX720_rogue_6.8.3.17R-beta, I am testing it right now and like it alot.
Does Android Pay work with this ROM?
I flashed the ROM after the boot I face a black screen and a bar with Chinese written and I can't do anything only control the volume...I only flash the ROM with wipe the data, system and delvic cach

No issue like this. Everything worked. It booted fine. You may have to use the recovery version from earlier in the month of Jan.
Everything worked for me except volte which is no big deal. Really impressive build. Thanks for downloading @tsongming..

It looks like what happened to me when going from an Oreo rom to Nougat, you have to format data not only wipe data. Format data, write "yes" and then install the rom. Always have a backup of your data before.
flyme is one of the best system , the official one is good but it's old , be sure to have eui firmware before flashing flyme .

Ok, this is what I have found. Your original latest flyme seems to be working ok. Here is what I have done. Using RAR apk, I unzipped it, and it complained about one apk in mizu-apk folder, and I ended up removing that folder completely, and zipped the ROM again. It flashed without any issue, but I can't seem to get Data to turn-on. It turns on briefly during the boot, but it goes away. I think if I compare the build.prop from older version with newer version, I may be able to find the fix.

Extremely good, at the moment my phone has no OS at all..
I only glanced at battery life briefly yesterday with Gsam battery tool. Plus, I installed BlackScreen 5.3 r2 which worked fine, I would rather wait for a real answer. Otherwise it would just be a guess.

[RECOVERY] Unofficial TWRP 3.4.0-2 by brigudav 4PDA for Xiaomi Redmi K20/MI9T davinci

THIS ISNT MY WORK I AM ONLY SHARING THIS !
Hello everyone,
I am sharing today this twrp i found recently on 4pda forum (i know people are lazy to go and check that forum especially that u need to create an account there to download files and solve a russian captcha to continue so u need some russian knowledge)
Note : i've been using this twrp since his first releases and there was no problem at all
Features :
I've seen a lot of users suffering from DFE and encryption and other issues, this twrp got additional features that u can use without having to flash different zips everytime (as u can see in the screenshots)
-Different font and splash screen
-Black/white/blue default theme
-Partition SD card (our device doesn't have an sd card slot so it's pretty useless)
-Fix contexts
-Rm AVB-verity & force encrypt (for encryption issue and rom not booting after flash)
-Root / Unroot (magisk)
-Delete fingerprints and pins if u accidently forget them
-Fix avb (vbmeta)
-GooglePay fix
-Support the backup of additional partitions

The first thing I did was install a true dark theme with the existing official twrp so cool to see it implemented at default here.
Actually the official one does all I need so will no try this one.
Also not confident in installing a Russian recovery without sources... ?

This feature is very useful as there are many custom ROMs to test for our device with regular updates. Formatting the Data and copying the files every time for each ROM flash is a pain.

Just flashed - I like that it offers more partitions to choose for Flashing IMG and Backup/Restore (screenshots) than the official TWRP
However, like the official/unofficial 3.4.0, it still fails to decrypt data (on startup) for secondary user 999 (screenshots), it does only for user 0

If the official 3.4.0 works (some people claim it does), this 3.4.0.2 should also.
This phone was released with A9, and it seems that SAR architecture of partitions did not change through the upgrades to A10 and now A11

Idk about xiaomi.eu but for msm xtended a11 it worked
U can try this if it doesn't, found it somewhere in telegram
https://t.me/randomdavinci/33877
Is there maybe a newer version for this custom TWRP?
I used to prefer 3.4.0-2 over the official 3.4.0-0 for the stock firmwares (Mi 9T, EEA) since everything worked smooth (like in official) but more partitions were supported for backup and restore.
It worked also fine for Xiaomi.eu Stable
However, I recently installed Xiaomi.eu Weekly A11 beta and this 3.4.0-2 does not ask for pin/pattern.
If I disable screen unock in Android, 3.4.0-2 also does not decrypt, hence it is not possible to work with Data and Internal memory (no, I don't want to flash any Vbmeta or disable encryption)
To the other side, for the official 3.4.0-0 decryption for Xiaomi.eu, beta A11 works both:
- if screen unlock is disabled
- if pattern is used for screen unlock.
(If pin is used, the official asks for the pin but fails to decrypt).
Hence, support for the upcoming A11 is substantially better with the official 3.4.0-0 than with this custom 3.4.0-2

It's the same version from @brigudav as already previously posted in the other thread by @jeryll and the only problem with the other thread is, that the initial post by @billabongstaff has not been updated anymore.
Anyway, it's good to have a new thread for @brigudav's new build and hopefully you will keep the initial post up-to-date with the latest development, so that something like what happened to the other thread is not going to happen again.

Good Morning!
First of all, forgive my English, I'm using the translator.
Thanks for the updated thread.
Comment how to return from another rom to a Miui backup for example.
If you are on LineageOS and want to go back to a MIUI backup, you must first install the version of the rom that you made with the backup. start, then you can go back to the recovery, recover the data and start again.
Otherwise, I have not been successful otherwise.
Maybe I'm wrong with this version.

You are welcome
You can't restoring the LineageOS recovery backup to Miui. But you can backup your Apps with their data, through "Titanium Backup" App which requires rooted device, If you rooted then you can backup your apps with their data and restoring them through the same app on every rom you switched to.
Migrate app is another free root option with fairly good standing in the community: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/3862763/.

I've just moved from Migrate to OAndBackupX, which has been suggested to me in another thread, and I think it's superior to Migrate and likely Titanium Backup (Pro) as well (especially since the latter one is unmaintained since 2019).
Good tutorials for using any of these options would be very welcome...
