Device Protection for Nexus 5X and 6P with Fi is finally here! - Nexus 6P General

Source
Hi Folks,
Protect your Nexus 5X or 6P from drops, cracks, and spills with device protection, now available for devices purchased from Project Fi.
With device protection, you can quickly get your phone replaced in the event of:
Accidental damage (including drops, cracks, and spills)
Mechanical breakdown (beyond the 1-year manufacturer's warranty period)
Enroll your phone for $5/month. A deductible will apply for device protection replacements ($69 for Nexus 5X, $99 for 6P).
If you’ve already purchased a Nexus 5X or 6P from Project Fi, log on to fi.google.com to enroll your device for a limited time. If you’re purchasing a new Nexus 5X or 6P from Project Fi, you can enroll during checkout or up to 30 days after shipment. Be sure to activate Project Fi service within this time window.

Same here. Thanks Ovrclck for the heads up, I would have been pissed if I missed the 30 day window. I've never had a phone as big as this 6P and I've been stressed about dropping and breaking it since I took it out of the box.

Hi what do you think guys if you cancel or pause your project fi service they will cancel your plan or you can still pay $5 a month and be covered I can't find anything about this in the agreement.

I was thinking originally to use my phone bare and pay for the Device protection, but I think is just to pricey. In case you need to replace it in the first year, you have to pay $150. $210 in the second year. Meanwhile, you can get a decent case for less than $10. I have never had damaged a phone so far, and my Nexus 5 did need replacement (twice) but all happened within the year. So I guess for me, it's worth to take the risk.

Well just try and keep it mind it doesn't just cover damage, it also covers hardware failure beyond the 1 year manufacturers warranty. In my experience, most flagship phones end up having issues especially early in production. It's actually happened with pretty much every phone I've owned in the last five years. Charging ports that failed in the droid charge, speakers that died in the droid maxx, screen flickering in the Galaxy S4. Sometimes its better to be safe than sorry as the problems often don't appear within the 1st year, especially if it involves a manufacturing defect.

this is an even worse rip off than nexus protect. check out upsie. basically the same coverage for a fraction of the cost

I pay $8/month for insurance on T-Mobile and I paid $9/month on Verizon. You guys really think $5/month is a ripoff?
FYI you still pay the deductible on both other carriers. Have you guys not ever paid for phone insurance before?

It's not that serious, buy it or don't.

$5 a month is too much. I use Upsie.com. I switched my stuff from Best Buy to them. Figured out I was over paying.

Kind of sh*tty that they won't offer this to people who bought their N6p's through the Google Store. The people who bought from the Google store had to pay for the entire 2 year protection plan up front ($89). Project Fi is owned by Google so why the hell wouldn't they extend the same service to Google Store consumers?
Strike one for Project Fi. Hopefully they don't get to three.

I'm not sure I understand your complaint. Google store coverage 2 years for 89, projectfi 120 for the same two years of coverage. I would have gladly paid upfront for Nexus protect as opposed to a monthly fee.

There are also coverage plans you can purchase from other insurance providers within a certain time frame. Squaretrade just requires a receipt and $99 for 2 years.

I agree. Better deal to buy it outright. Actually, I originally ordered my 6P from Amazon. But then found out I could not get the Nexus Protect for it. It's a little cheaper than the Squaretrade plan, the deductible is a bit higher ($14) and the coverage seems similar. I just felt in this case, the plan from Google was the way to go. So I returned the Amazon one unopened and ordered it from Google with the plan.
I've had device insurance either through the carrier or squaretrade for many years, and only used it once. Probably would have been money ahead just putting that money into a bank account.

Anyone here try upsie? It's very cheap. Enough to make me suspicious

Pretty obvious what my "complaint" (if you can call it that) is. Some of us might not need the full 2 year coverage. Some of us like to pay as we go because some of us are always on the hunt for greener grass. Some of us could probably find better device coverage within 2-3 months...... Therefore, some of us like having the option to just use it as temporary coverage until we find that greener grass....
....some of us.

Well there's nothing wrong with not wanting a full two years of coverage if you are one of the many XDA users who switch out devices constantly, but one thing you might not have noticed is Nexus protect is also transferable. Just add the cost onto the phone when you go to resell it, as most people would love to buy a used phone with an actual warranty. It's really a win win for everyone.

Yep. It's transferable and that's peachy, but I don't want to dump $90 all at once without knowing all of my options (present & future).....and....like I said in my last post....having that $5 a month coverage is a good temporary option until I find something more permanent.

Yeah, pretty soon they will be charging us more for a replacement than the phones retail for.
Another awesome move by Sprint to show how much they appreciate their customers...oh wait, I mean another move by a failing company trying to squeeze every last penny from it's customers in hopes of staying afloat. Just file for bankruptcy already.

It's cause of people that come in to have their phone replaced for stupid reasons (like light bleeding from around the bottom of the screen). It's whatever. It'll cost an extra 6 a month for me to cover my two phones. It's not like I'm going to up and leave my SERO plan.

I don't either. People need to realize that these phones are not cheap. Some reach the $600-$700 dollar mark. If I have to pay $11.00 a month for piece of mind that if I drop my $650.00 phone in the toilet, that I only have to pay $150.00 to $200.00 to get it replaced instead of $650.00.

Well, I have had Sprint FOREVER. I have 4 of the old SERO accounts. And I've had TEP all along. It truly has paid for itself over the years. They gave me free upgrades to newer phones over and over. Samsung i-300 to i-330 to i-500 to Treo 600 to 650 to 700p to 755. Can't complain about that. I basically got a new phone once per year as my old phone would have something go wrong with it. Then I started back to buying new phones because I just could not wait for the latest and greatest.
All that being said, 4 lines at $11 each. Hmmm. That's $44 per month. Historically, I don't have to replace 1 out of the 4 phones any more often than once per year. So $528 per year to get a $150-$200 replacement. Starting to look like I could just buy a replacement phone off craigslist for a lot less. Heck, even a month after the Galaxy SII released, I could find them all day long on CL for $250-ish.
I guess a TEP decision is in my near future.
Maybe I should insure through Geek Squad, LOL!
Isn't this the same thing as the fee on 4G devices that started with the OG EVO? I'm assuming so.
Good thing I already have tep since 2004.

Nope. That is a high-speed data charge. This is an increased fee for the TEP (Total Equipment Protection) insurance policy that you can purchase from Sprint on a monthly basis.

I dropped TEP years ago. Bought my last 2 phones(Epic, and Epic Touch) on craigslist for $200 each. Haven't had any problems with either.

I stopped these stupid plans once they raised it to $100.00 deductable.
They are covered under warranty for 1 year any way and I tend to replace the phone every year anyway.
I don't use a case and have never needed a claim.
I could have 2 phones lost or dunked in the next 6 months and I'd still be ahead.
After a year you can usually find the phone for $200.00 new on ebay which is what you would have spent on TEP for 1 year plus the $100.00 deductable.
And they send you a refurb to boot.
Just not worth it any more.
Agreed. That is if you have to go through Asurion. You can just get phones off craigslist for cheaper. I didnt use TEP at all for my Evo 4g. Once for my Evo 3d but it was done free by sprint so there was no deductible on my part. Which brings me to this question. Are they still technically split in under 2 types of warranty? Certain $ amount for standard Sprint and the rest for Asurion? If this is the case I may still want to keep Sprint extended warranty and just get rid of Asurion. Atleast if it fails under Sprint warranty theres no deductible.
"if you don't like sprint (and or price changes that are stated to change at anytime in the contract THAT YOU SIGNED!!!!) then you can giiiit oouuutt"
Dropped TEP on our 3 lines a couple months ago. Daughter dropped her OG Evo and cracked the screen. Went to store and they said to call insurance for $100 replacement. They won't even deal with cracked screens any longer in store. USed to be they would change it out for no charge or even $30 or so. Decided to change out the screen myself and saved $50. Now I save $24 per month.
Does this mean if I upgrade from my evo 3d to a galaxy nexus they'll forcibly increase my TEP cost to $11 a month? (I pay $4 right now)
I Cancelled that crap like 6 months ago when i realized how much money I was giving them over 6 years and the one time I actually tried to use insurance(capacitive light staying lit) and they wouldn't fix it but wanted me to pay $100 to replace it with a used phone..
If I break my phone,im an idiot for being so careless and if I want to replace it I will pay the money to replace it.So needless to say, good for them, get that money but it wont me mine.

Yeah I didn't realize that until I read the Sprint ad again. Ah well. I think TEP is worth it.... Every phone I had with Sprint had some sort of issue and when I take it into Sprint, they usually replace it for free.
Why is my phone insurance getting to be as expensive as my motorcycle insurance? I can't do wheelies on my phone at 80 on busy highways

What would you pay for an Evo 4G LTE?

Just going through some ebay listings of the phone.
Looking at those that have closed in the last 2 weeks, I see prices from upper 400's to mid 700's.
This listing here really takes the cake though.
$740!!! At least the buyer got free shipping. I thought $200 alot to pay, but [email protected]!#, $740!!!

Well I was the Winner of that $740 dollar Evo and I find it to be worth every penny lol. I was off contract with an amazon preorder and canceled it in desperation when we had no date. Believe it or not I actually got it faster and cheaper than off contract at BestBuy which would have come ~$760. My OG Evo crapped out and I was completely phone-less so time was of the essence and I was shooting in the dark.
Tl;DR You know exactly how much I was willing to pay . Winning bidder: Crowordove
Also I think it's the funniest thing ever to be called out for my Evo desperation especially since I'm on XDA and got to be a part of it lol.
Is it really that worthwhile to remain off contract? You're still paying monthly service charges equal to what someone on-contract is paying. Your only benefit is the ability to cancel service at any time. Now if they gave you a year's worth of free service for paying the whole lot up front, that might be worth it.
Thanks for chiming in.
Edit: Not calling you out personally, just trying to get a grasp on how folks justify such purchases. I've heard of people paying exorbitant amounts on other devices - iphones, ipads, etc.

Actually I'm in my 2 year contract coming up on year one here shortly. I'm paying off contract for a phone to use on my current contract. I was an Og Evo buyer a little over a month before the Evo 3d and decided to wait it out and chalk it up to bad luck. So this time I jumped for the new phone instead of a referbed Evo that I would have had to buy out of pocket anyway. The best part about it is I get an upgrade next year if I choose to use it
I think knowing that you can up and leave without penalty is a certain sense of security, in which I also enjoy being locked into a contract. i've been eligible to upgrade both phone lines for over 4 years, and just never had because i never found a phone I liked enough. My main phone was a Sanyo MM9000 (I have lots of them collected) due to it's ability to make calls in other countries without being charged and the data usage not being able to be monitored, etc. I was tethering on that phone for years with no fees, lol. My 2nd line was a Touch Pro which was basically the perfect phone, just too slow. Had they put this proc in it, it would be great!
Anyways, I upgraded both lines at the same time with pre-orders, one came in, they f'd up my order and only had 1 phone ready because they thought it was supposed to be one, then my other came later. The 2nd I already had buyers lined up wanting to pay $650+, but due to the idiots at BB's error, by the time I got my 2nd phone, they were released so now I just have my 2nd phone sitting on craigslist for $500.00 until it sells. And my 2nd line is back on the Touch Pro it was on previously.
First EVO = $200 - $50 pre-order GC with BB - $75 in gift certificates I had, so I paid $75.00 for my HTC EVO 4G LTE
Second EVO = $200 - $50 pre-order GC with BB on my 2nd line. I paid $150 for that one, but once it sells for $500, I will have basically been paid to get one.
This is definitely the best phone out right now. I'm still amazed at how much you can do with it, and I have been experimenting with WEP cracking, lol. Going to see if I can get the right adapters to use my external WiFi antenna with it, then load up BackTrak3 on it. ;-p

Seriously though it was cost effective for me and I don't expect anyone else to agree with me. My Evo LTE has been and will continue to be worth every penny to me.

It is official, VZW sucks

http://www.phonearena.com/news/HTC-...vember-13-stay-tuned-for-our-coverage_id36513
HTC DROID DNA for Verizon lands on November 13, stay tuned for our coverage
November 20 is quoted as a potential launch date
Agreed, each year I become more and more frustrated with them. Planned on leaving and getting the Note 2 on another carrier but it's cheaper for me to stay with VZW
My contract ends March 2013 so I'm thinking of moving onto my friends T-Mobile line instead of adding a ghost line on my family's just to get the Note 2.
Effing ridiculous.
Dear Verizon,
Due to the poor PR on this phone, my poor fingers will have arthritis for scouring the internet for a simple little date. As an apology for your negligence, I will accept an apology in the form of a Fedex package on my office desk.
Hmm. Maybe I'll buy this, just to pass the time waiting for the Note2. Then, return it once it comes out.
We have 14 days to return a phone, right?

$35 restocking fee.. to have a sweet phone to play with for ~14 days then get my even more sweet phone... I'm seriously tempted.
It makes sense though if this phone is indeed released on the 20th that they would not want the Note II in-stores on the 23rd as well. It would obviously take away from their DNA sales... but seems so BS to me that this could possibly be a major factor in why we are getting the phone so late, maybe the only factor.

Talked to a rep and obviously BS'd a bit.
Shawn M.: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
You: Yeah, I wanted to order the note II
You: I just had a question about why is this phone being released so much later than the other carriers?
Shawn M.: Fantastic I am happy to help you.
You: Is it because of the DNA? I can't decide between the two
Shawn M.: No it is because they are selling out very quickly and they are on backorder.
Shawn M.: What do you like about them?
You: I like the stylus one one, but then again since I can get the DNA so much faster I might prefer that
You: But here is my question, so if the stock is filled before the 27th, can we expect the Note II before that date?
Shawn M.: It could happen yes but It will most likely not come before then.
You: A lot of people have said online that the 15th is a possibility, so i'm guessing those are just rumors? I myself was told by a VZW employee at a store near me that this was also true
Shawn M.: It can happen but i don't want to get your hopes up and then it not come early.

Then save up for your new phone, IDK. Getting a phone just to play with it for a few days seems pointless, what happens if you drop it and break it? Scuff it beyond repair, etc... Just isn't worth it IMO.
Well guys, looks like the phone is up on VZW site for preorder 11/19 ship date.

The battery is pretty bad, but what about 16GB storage with no SD card? That right there makes this phone a no for me. All of my apps/games alone cant fit on my Nexus 7 16GB version, and thats with no photos or movies. The screen is apparently one of the primary selling points for this phone. What good is it without the ability to have several HD movies and photos available on the device, in addition to all of your apps/games? I'd rather wait impatiently for Verizon to release the Note II.
Release isn't until the 21st, pre-order starts today.
Going to chat and see if I can get the DNA when it's released and play with it and return for Note 2. Restock isn't a problem. I just got a new job.
Quoting someone from AC because their assessment is correct.
"I dont see how people on a 2gb shared data plan can use this phone without upping their data plan. Which is exactly why Verizon ordered the phone without an microSD slot."
Lol, she didn't seem to enthusiastic.
Khyiera: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
Austin: I was looking at adding a new line and getting the Note 2. I see the DNA is out before then. My question is, can I add a line, get the DNA, play with it and see if i like it and if i don't, return it for the Note 2 when it releases?
Austin: I know it will be within the 14 day return policy.
Khyiera: Yes you can.
Austin: My main problem was the battery. I see the DNA has a 2000mah battery and Note 2 has a 3100 mah battery and that's a big thing for me.
Austin: But, okay. Just wanted to make sure I could do that. I understand there is a restock fee, how much is it?
Khyiera: $35
Austin: Okay, I appreciate your help today.
Khyiera: No problem!

Instead of the DNA, I may switch to a different phone that's cheaper. $200, then $35 and another $100 is expensive.
My GNEX has terrible signal now a days and batter. Gonna have to look and see what's good to use for 2 weeks.

Common Verizon Wireless Asurion Coverage Misconception [It is Covered]

I've seen a lot of people asking if their 6P is covered by Asurion through Verizon and I would like to clear up any misconceptions or questions about the matter. I have seen a lot of conflicting information or wrong assumptions on the forum. This is all based on my experience and conversations I have had with BOTH Verizon and Asurion and I am 100% confident it is true. I have called to verify and if I wished I could make a claim on my 6P. The option was validated and presented to me by a manager of their customer support.
There are two types of coverage through Verizon Wireless. Total Mobile Protection and Total Equipment Coverage. Total Mobile Protection includes Total Equipment Coverage.
Total Equipment Coverage includes both Verizon's Extended Warranty Program and the Asurion Wireless Phone Protection.
If your line has Total Equipment coverage and you currently have a 6P activated then your Verizon Extended Warranty Program eligibility is nullified. For the simple reason that they do not carry the phone in stores, thus they will not extend the warranty of troubleshoot it. Pretty straight forward. However, the Asurion Wireless Phone Protection does still apply. Asurion's insurance applies to any device that is both activated and natively supported by Verizon's network. The 6P does in fact activate, and stock is 100% compatible with their network. Thus they will honor the insurance and issue a claim for the device, no problem.
So, while the Extended Warranty is useless, the insurance is valid and, in my mind, worth the $8 a month I pay for it rather than mess with nexus protect where theft is not covered and the deductible is essentially the same.
I cannot guarantee that they will replace the phone with a Nexus 6P, though it does look likely. The manager wasn't sure and was going to get back to me. They have a relationship with most of the major US carriers, so the manager is confident they will carry them.
Note: This also applies to the Nexus 5x and the Moto X Pure Edition and any other phone natively compatible with Verizon's network

The deductibles are so high that I would think nexus protect or squaretrade would be better still, at least in my past experience with asurion.

I could be grandfathered into a lower deductible but I only paid $100 dollars when my phone was stolen on the train. Is it higher for others?
Someone snatched it out of my hand when I was pulling it out of my pocket. Living in a large city and taking public transportation I find the theft coverage important.
Am I correct in my understanding that my Nexus Protect would be great for a defective or broken phone to ensure I get a brand new unit from Google, while Assurion will cover a lost/stolen phone? I don't think Nexus Protect covers lost/stolen, only damage.

Nexus Protect does not cover lost\stolen devices. You need to be able to return the device to Google. Considering there have been people receiving warranty replacements already that claim to be refurbished from Google rather than new, you might be slightly more likely to receive a new device but I wouldn't count on it.

It's $200 for the highest "tier" which is usually brand new flag ships (I would think includes the 6P). After the phone is out for 6 months or something it may drop to a lower tier which is like $150 or so.
At least with ATT/Verizon versions of it as I understand. But I think that you might get a lower deductible after you pay for the protection for a long time but haven't really used it.

edit:
But square trade and nexus protect do not cover stolen phones, I didn't realize that so nevermind
well crap... i didn't pay close attention i guess. so my phone is covered against damage but not theft. that's no good. already paid for nexus protect though so guess i'm stuck!

I have TEC on my line and I just got a new mailer from Verizon/Asurion welcoming my new device.
Go figure. I got Nexus Protect to make sure if I break it I get a 6P but did not cancel TEC since I have a grandfathered rate.

Huh, I have a feeling that due to my grandfathered rate my deductible is also grandfathered, I only paid $100 to replace a m9 several months ago.

So I have a G4 that I originally got on device payment and recently bought my 6p. I have the insurance through Verizon but I'm not sure whether it's total mobile out total equipment protection. That being said, if I try a claim on my 6p do you think it would be valid? I could do the manufacturer warranty with the G4 if it's an equipment issue I know, but I'm wondering what the deal is since I pretty much use both phones on the same line.

My Asurion coverage was dropped by Verizon after I did a sim swap from Nexus 6 to Nexus 6p. I called both Verizon and Asurion to see why. The Asurion rep told me they would cover the device as long as the coverage was active on my Verizon account. So I called Verizon to see why it was removed. They told me the device had to be purchased through Verizon or one of its authorized retailers in order to keep that coverage. Anybody got a good recommendation for third party insurance? It has to cove lost or stolen. I'm more worried about my device being stolen than I am about breaking it.

Where are the deals at? Let's share all those deals.
Verizon offering $10/mo for 24 months 0% financing on Pixel and up to $400 trade in credit.
https://www.theblackfriday.com/verizon-blackfriday.shtml?page=1
https://slickdeals.net/blackfriday/stores/verizon-wireless/adscans/24723/
I came across this the other day:
http://bestblackfriday.com/ads/verizon-black-friday
$10 a month at Verizon for Google Pixel, up to $672 for Device Payment Plan (discount applied as a bill credit). Not sure if that $672 limit rules out 128GB devices as those cost $749.
For anyone interested in a 32GB device, currently Best Buy is offering a $200 gift card for a monthly device payment plan with a new line of Verizon service. There is a $20 activation fee for ordering online, which is reportedly waived for in-store purchases, but so far Best Buy's inventory has seemed limited compared to Verizon. The phone can be paid off at Verizon anytime. This has been going on for weeks, so Saturday November 12 may be the last day. It's possible Best Buy could have better deals later this month, but so far this and the Verizon 20% off code last week have been the best offers that don't involve two years of service at Verizon.

I saw that too. $10 / month for 24 months is $400 off Google Store price. I have a verizon account that has an upgrade available. But I don't use Verizon that much, only for work. So if I buy one of these can I just pull out the sim and put in my Project Fi account sim and use it like that? I think it might depend on if vzw will allow it to come off the network while on that contract? But I'd buy that in a heartbeat if the deal is real and I could use it on Fi.

The Slickdeals discussions I've read seem to suggest it may be possible to do that sort of thing.

You probably can, Verizon phones are not provider locked, you should be able to put in any SIM card.
I personally have a Verizon subscription (the only way to get a decent signal at work where I spend most of my time) and am considering this deal. I would however strongly prefer to order directly from the Google store as I want an unlockable bootloader (I know there is DePixel8, but that's not the same and that loophole could be closed at any time with a security update, just want an unlockable bootloader without any hacks).
But, I might just take the plunge through Verizon, it's a very good price for this phone. Hopefully Google themselves come with some deals as well. Even just $200 off would be enough
I called Project Fi / Google Store (I think they're basically one and the same) and the guy saw the Verizon promotion and couldn't believe it. He wasn't sure about prospect of pulling it off the vzw network or if they would allow it during the contract period but I don't think they would care. I asked if he had an inkling of a Google black Friday deal and he didn't think they'd do something so drastic as to take 400 bucks off. But he did say and I did too, "Hey you never know." I don't know if I'd pull my 5x out of service for $200 off but I certainly would for 400. Gonna keep my eyes on this one for sure.
Found the page via google cache.. lol
I don't see any offers that would apply to the Pixel in Best Buy's Black Friday advertisement, so the Best Buy offer of a $200 gift card for a new line this week and Verizon's Black Friday offer may be the primary deals on Pixel phones this month. Based on last year's Nexus 6p, and the current limited phone supply at the Google Store, I wouldn't expect deals from Google this November. Assuming someone plans on having an active line at Verizon for two years, the only way it might be possible to slightly exceed Verizon's Black Friday deal any time soon would be if Verizon offers another discount code and retains their current offer of $300 in account credits over two years for a $1 phone trade, but that trade value is rather high so I wouldn't expect it to necessarily last until their next discount code. For someone that isn't interested in two years of Verizon service, the $200 gift card has only been rivaled by a 20% off code from Verizon that lasted just a few days, and any better offers from Best Buy or Verizon seem to have happened before this phone was available.
http://blackfriday.bestbuy.com/?category=doorbusters
Just chatted with the Google store and they said they currently have no updates on whether they'll have any Black Friday deals. I guess even if they did already know they probably wouldn't tell me Man, I'd really prefer to have it straight from Google for the unlockable bootloader (without any hassle), but that deal from Verizon is starting to look really good.
I looked at the Verizon site today. After adding a 128GB Pixel to the cart there was an offer for 50% off a second phone, either a Pixel or V20. I didn't see written terms for the offer, but it looks like they are reducing the retail price of the second phone. It seems the $300 in 24 months of bill credits on a $1 phone is still available, but I've read that you might have to try a store to trade two phones for two new devices. On a preliminary look, the 50% off a second phone seems like potentially one of the better deals for anyone willing to consider buying two phones.

I was going to return my pixel 128gb and then buy another one for Black Friday. I decided to take advantage of the trade in $200 credit, just in case if the terms for the black Fri sale didn't fit me as a Verizon customer. I purchased an iPhone 4 used for $25 that was being used for Sprint. Verizon took it with no problems and will credit me $8.33 per month.

For those of us wanting the Pixel from Google with the unlockable bootloader, couldn't we trade in a phone on Friday for $400 and get the Verizon Pixel then sell it? The $400 credit and whatever proceeds from the Verizon Pixel should be more than enough to cover the cost of purchasing from the Google Store.

The $400 credit is applied over a period of 2 years to your monthly phone bill, so while you can do what you're proposing, you won't see any immediate benefit.

From what I've read on SlickDeals, the BF credit will be applied immediately. However, I don't think we'll know for sure until the day comes.

Nope, pretty sure it'll be applied over a period of 2 years. So you'll need to stay on contract with them for at least as long to get the full benefit. And either way, I think this deal only applies to the 32GB Pixel, don't think the 128GB will get this deal.

So only 1 variant of the Google phone would apply here, a 32GB Pixel? Hmm.. the $400 credit is that for any phone or is it a credit up to $400?

If I remember correctly, the black friday deal will be for the Galaxy S7, Google Pixel and one other phone. It would apply to a max of $672. But since Verizon forced sites to remove all these adds everywhere, I wouldn't be surprised if they ended up coming with something else. I would strongly prefer a Google store version, so I have one on backorder right now, but if a really good deal comes up from Verizon, I might consider getting the Verizon version.
