WLAN Problem - OnePlus X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm unable to use my wifi with any custom rom for the opx.
I find the router, but when i connect it just says saved.
On stock and any other device everything is working.
Could it be the router? ( FRITZ!Box 7270)

Check whether you have changed the wifi mac address on your phone?
And confirm Acces on router
Wysłane z mojego ONE E1003 przy użyciu Tapatalka

The mac is still the same and is confirmed in the router

But if I restart 2 or 3 time my opx will get connected to the Hotspot...
I'm on cm3 nightly 0502

Switch off bluetooth, if it's on. There were interferences on some devices.
Your router is compatible with 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi. OPX just 2.4, but it should be OK.
Have you tried a free wifi in a restaurant or something like that to see if it's a hardware problem?

It is working without any problem on stock.
Also working with free wlans.
I think this is Cyanogenmod and Fritzbox related.
Tried static ip too.

Try to activate "Location service" to see if it works

Still not working.
Also tried with another Fritzbox. Doesn't work, too.
I don't understand it, on stock everything works fine.

Connection to a netgear DG834v5

ok so ive tried technically three kernels and loads of roms and i still cant maintain a connection to this kind of router it workds fine when you first connect but if you either lose signal or turn of wifi and then turn it back on it refuses to connect
anyone know what can be done
same for me with netgear, seems that there's a problem with the dynamic ip.
Anyone know of a way to get this working?. surely wifi modules from another phone could help. i can say it was working ok on 2.1

Could be a million things going wrong...password, diff key algorithm, MAC address filtering (if he has it enabled on the router).
You need to do more troubleshooting before asking the question...give the forum a starting point.
Check to see if your phone supports the type of the router.
For example, if your router is N and you phone only supports g/b, it won't work.
Check if the router supports as many devices are connected
is it normal that my ip address in wifi settings is unavailable ??

I guess it is since you haven't connected to a network that would have assigned you an IP address.

Ummm...NO. N is backwards compatible, both on 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

It would help to have more information about the way the router is set up, etc. Can other phones connect to it? Are you getting any error messages?
I bought a used WRT54GS a few weeks ago and couldn't get my phone connected over WiFi until I updated the firmware. You may want to look into that. It said it was connecting and then said disconnected. It never said it was connected though.
Once I got the new firmware installed then I was able to connect, encrypt the connection, etc.

~ we already updated the firmware but still got the problem .. we've done all troubleshooting we can do .. i even change my rom and kernel but nothing happens .. other device can connect to his router, mine was the only one that can't connect ...
btw i can connect to other wifi .. i guess the problem is in the router ?
Well, at least you know it's not your phone ...

Sorry to hear that.
If other devices can connect to it and yours can't, even with different ROMs and kernels, then it looks like this particular router just doesn't like your phone/setup for some reason. Especially since you can connect to other WiFi units.
Very frustrating.
If the router is set up to allow enough connections and isn't filtering out your phone's ==> WiFi <== MAC address then I don't know what else can be wrong.
Hope you can find a workaround, but I can't think of anything else at the moment.

WIFI connection gets weak when S3 trys to connect

Hi
I have a very weird problem with Galaxy S3.
The problem is that suddenly out of the blue, the phone no longer connected to my home wifi, which it had no problems connecting to it.
the signal is extremely weak, and only connects to it when you sit next to the router.
When you forget the connection, the bars go up and connection looks very strong. as soon as you start connecting to it, it drops to the way it was, and not getting connected.
All other stuff I have (laptop and other phones) work perfectly, so not a router thing
I have rooted and updated to the latest ROM, but still same problem.
Any help would be appreciated.
is this happening with all wifi networks or just ur home network. If only on home network then try turning off your router and then restart it after some time to see if thats causing the problem.
also have u installed any updates/roms recently?

Well, I have not tried any other wifi, but I have another phone and laptop that work perfectly with the same router.
I also restarted the router, but nothing's happened.
I installed another ROM, but this time it keeps asking for password as it says it is incorrect. but as soon as I stand next to the Router, it hooks up to it with same supposedly incorrect password.
Regards

Had similar problem and I think a few people experienced this where suddenly the phone stops playing nicely with WPA2 security, so that's worth looking into

Try a Google, there were a few threads concerning it a while back, with several solutions I seem to remember
Try running router for a few days with no security see what happens .

Nothing worked!!!
Dear all,
I have tried every solution there is, tried so many routers , work, hotels, cafes ..nothing same problem keeps coming up - authentication error occurred.
when you get close enough to router it works automatically.
I have since replaced firmware many times, have replaced the antenna, but nothing ...same problem.
Any help please, I am out of ideas!!!
The only idea for me is dump it and buy an iphone!

I am facing the exact same problem with my S3.
I have all security/no security. Is there any solution?????
i can also try to repair my phone, provided someone can explain what to repair.
Looking for a response.
Same problem
Hi,
I have the exact problem.
Wifi works when phone close to router (2-3 metres). When away it still shows connected but wont have internet access.
If I try to connect little away from router with full wifi signal, it says "Saved Secured" or Authentication error.
Tried flashing different stock roms but still same problem. Tried resetting router. Tried changing router channel and disabling security. But still same.
Anyone fixed this issue?

Have you both tried a complete clean install? And by that I mean wiping /system /data /preload cache and delvik.

Hi, Thanks for the response.
Yes I did everything through recovery. I havent rooted my device. So I cleared cache and did factory reset through recovery.

CM10.1 WiFi issues

For some reason I am unable to connect to my home WiFi network. It acts as if it is about to connect by saying authenticating and then stops and does not connect act all. Then after if I try to connect to the network again it says "Failed to connect to network". I have noticed this has happened to me before when I flashed the Viper ROM so I just went back to stock. I do not know why this issue is occurring.
Try fixing permissions in recovery. This appeared to work for me.
Something else to check is the setting called "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep": System Settings --> WiFi --> Menu --> Advanced. Try a different setting and see whether that works.

I too have been having Wifi connection issues. I was on Viper with no issues. I was trying Carbon and thats when it started. I tried crpalmers kernel with no luck. I was trying to follow his instructions to check for modules but it seems to be over my head. I dont have much experance with adb. The last time I flashed the kernel i wiped cache and dalvik before and after and fixed permissions.
Thanks

Yup, I'm a moonshiner. I just read that CM 10 ROMs aren't liking WEP. And to change it to WPA2. Going to try that here in a few minutes.

That was it changing the router security to wpa2. Hooked right up.

WPA2 on both home and work routers. That's not the issue for me. It seems that when I try to connect manually, it fails. When Android connects by itself, it usually succeeds.
wep has no security if you want wep to work change router to wpa/wpa2 then connect then go back to wep and then you weill be able to connect at starbucks or mcdonalds whileiing eatting or drinking your self high as hell

Wait so are you saying I change my router to WPA/WPA2, connect, and then change back to WEP and it will work?
Side note, will all of my devices still connect without having to reenter everything if I keep the WEP password the same?
