Unable to get LG G3 onto Sprint Network - Sprint LG G3

Hey guys. Bought an LG G3 off Amazon and turns out it had been put on BOOST network. I've re-imaged it first with LS990ZV4_04.51101.tot and also tried LS990ZVA_00.tot. I'm not making any progress getting the Sprint stuff back on. I get it booted up but it's now on the "LG" network and can't get it onto Sprint. No LTE, but can get wifi going so it does some downloads.
I guess I'm doing the wrong stock rom though this is what I came up with after researching. Can someone please point me to the right stock rom for the Sprint LG G3 LS990? I'm trying to get it back onto their network. My next attempt is/was going to be putting Cyanogen on it and seeing if that gets me anywhere closer. I do have another LG G3 but I'm not familiar with backing up it's rom for transfer (if that's even possible).
Please help?

Running 5.01 software and unable to root (tried several including one listed as Newest root method v03). Will pursue trying to root as possible solution.

In the FAQ for root/unlock info.
As for getting back to Sprint. You will need your MSL and do dialer code ##RTN#. You can find that info stickied in General.
You'll need to stay with stock to fix everything before going to CM/AOSP.

Did you ever get this fixed? I have the same situation after going back to stock using the .tot method. It showed I was on the LG network, so I did the ##RTN# procedure, it reset everything and now it shows Im on the Sprint network but still no 4G/LTE, it shows im my mobile network type as "EvDo-rev.A" I get 3G but no 4G, any help is appreciated.

[Q] Best way to activate from Custom ROM?

This was my mother's phone originally. I worked on it like 8 months ago, so I couldn't even begin to recount the actual steps I took to get it unlocked/custom rom'd.
But I do know, it's currently showing S-OFF, hboot 1.40.1100, I've got TWRP on it, and CM 11(did that a few weeks ago to check out the latest features).
Phone has no active service through Sprint. I'm going to activate it on Ting(already checked the ESN, they say it will activate) Problem is, when I put my Galaxy s2 on Ting, I had to temp-boot the stock rom in order for the phone to do whatever it needs to do to activate service, and also if I wanted to update the PRL and whatnot. So my question is, does anyone know if that is necessary with this phone? And if so, is there an easy way to temp-boot into a stock rom to get the job done?
I came across the Boot Manager Lite app(which wouldn't load and I had to uninstall), but I assume that works with any rom zip that is flashable through cwm/twrp, which I can't seem to find one for stock.
Anyone have any ideas on the easiest way to do this? Or is it even necessary to be in stock to activate? Or if I have to go fully back to stock to activate and then back to custom, is it going to be a nightmare like I remember it being to unlock the thing originally? Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks guys.
*EDIT* Also, if anyone can give me a good answer/quick instruction, and has a Ting referral code, I'll be glad to use it when I activate. $20 for me, $20 for you. Win/Win Otherwise I'm using the code from a popular Youtuber, lol
**EDIT2** Think I may have just solved my own problem, If so, I'll post the solution, so that this thread is not a total waste.

Z Ultra Assistance

I wan't to start off by saying I'm an idiot. I shouldn't have messed with any of this and by not backing up before I started I created my own problems. Anyways.. I'm in a mess and need some help.
I just got a Z Ultra c6806 (not the not the GPe), and I was already getting annoyed with some of the "bloatware" or whatever it may be called in the mobile world. I decided I was just going to go ahead and put CyanogenMod on it so that I didn't have to use Sony's stuff. I instantly started running into problems. And early on, I semi gave-up, and decided I was just going to stay with Sony's deal. Well somehow it got the firmware on it for the c6833, and so it wouldn't do AT&T's LTE.. or data at all. And so then I started trying to get CyanogenMod on the phone again, and finally succeeded in that, but it says there is an error with my sim card, so I have no cellular anything. I can't text, call etc. And I have messed with that, coming up with absolutely nothing. And now I'm searching, and I can't seem to find the firmware for the c6806 to revert back to that. I just have no idea what to do, and now I have no cell phone.
I don't care if I have CyanogenMod, Stock Android, Sony's version.. I just need it to work. I've spent the last 3 hours trying to figure something out and I can't. Can someone please explain to me what I need to do to have a working phone on any version of the OS?
Thanks,
Jesse
Download flashtool (http://flashtool.net)
Download a c6806 FTF (http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...tf-depository-sony-firmware-releases-t2829387)
Flash as in the instructions in the above link
This should get you back to a function phone. I'm not sure why you would have lost LTE on c6833 firmware (it should work???) or why you lost everything on CM.

Thanks, I spent forever trying to find that FTF.. now it's taking 3 hours to download, but oh well.
Yeah I figured I lost LTE on c6833 because the phone doesn't support AT&T, but maybe that isn't the case. I plan to try CM again but I'll come up with a backup phone first. Haha
Thanks again for the help,

NEEd Help Security Error G3 LS990!

Recently I Rooted My Sprint G3 Lolipop. Had no Issues there. Then I wanted to install TWRP, So I downloaded AutoRec, waited for the app to confirm everything and installed it. When I turned my phone off and tried to reboot into recovery, it Gives me a screen that has the LG Logo and it says Security Error and turns back off. I can still go into download mode but thats all I can do.
Ive read the other posts for this problem but i havent found one for my specific Phone.
Can anybody please help me with step by step Instructions?? Im still not super expirenced in rooting phones and the other phones I have rooted have always been successful..
Sprint LG G3 5.0.1
LS990ZVC
Heres a link to that same problem. The member experiencing the issue fixed it by flashing a .tot file from a previous ZV version he went from ZVA to ZV4 u should be able to do that i believe by using the 2014 lg flash tool, look it up. While i dont like flashing different ZV versions myself i think u might be safe for the most part.
Me personally think but might be wrong so dont quote me.. Lol but i would flash using a ZVB tot/kdz in the 2014 flash tool and i believe the lg support tool will then upgrade u back to ZVC if not the LGUPtool i mean your taking it from a noob but i think i stand correct here lol

Thanks. Actually didn't even waste my time on it. I still flash and do everything else with my phone. Found out it was a authentication code or something like that. Thanks for the reply back though!!!

Is there a way to root a T-Mobile LG K7?

I'd forgotten what it's like to have an unrooted phone. I just got a T-Mobile LG K7 & am looking for a way to root it. The only info I found was a long thread on Android Forums by people who tried to root the K7 with KingRoot. The LG K7 is not on the list of phones that KingRoot supports, and the results looked iffy. (ex, It works fine if I stand on my right foot, pat my head and whistle the national anthem...)
Anyway I just thought I'd ask here. I'm no Android dev... just like having the phone rooted. I rooted my last 2 phones, but it's been so long that I hardly remember the steps involved.
[Ignore... didn't realize I could edit original post... sry! ]
Follow up for the sake of posterity...
Took the leap with KingRoot. It worked fine for the T-Mobile version of LG K7. At first KR put up a msg saying there was a problem-- do I want to try root anyway? I said Yes & it worked with no other issues. Super-easy.
Well, I'm off to do some de-bloating.
Have you found a custom rom? I've been looking for va cyanogen 13 mod for a few days. I'm a total noob with this but I'm very tech savvy. anyways.... as I said I started the whole root my phone project to free up memory. I've accomplished that. I've rooted my phone with king root and I've sent a lot of apps to my SD card. But now the hacker nerd in me wants to install android marshmallow. So we're kind of at time point U just seem way more experienced St this. I have built quite a few android based kodi boxes so I guess I'm not a total noon but this is my first exposure to rooting so having some lone to at least bounce around ideas with would be excellent. Thanks in advance for your time.

Ermmm... that would be no. I've rooted and flashed roms on my last 2 phones, but I got forum help. I don't know the nuts & bolts. Your best bet would be to create a thread & collaborate.
It's important to get a rom & recovery specific both to your phone provider & phone model. Ex, I have a T-Mobile LG K7. If I try to flash a rom for metro pcs LG K7, anything could happen... it may refuse to flash. It might flash & brick. It might actually work, but why take the chance?
If you find a rom somewhere online, be careful about the source. Unless you know what you are getting, you could be in for trouble. Don't try it without getting feedback on a trustworthy forum.
Good luck... I'd love to see a good Marshmallow rom
Yes
I rooted my k7 TMobile w kingroot and then used the wolfdroid method of removing the kingo superuser w terminal emulator and replacing it with superSu. I've actually had alot less problems w rooting than a y other phone. Problem is the factory recovery isn't a normal recovery and we'll probably never have a custom recovery or rom for the TMobile version atleast I heard that u can do it w metro pcs version. Even chainfires flashfire says they haven't been testing w lg so if anyone hears anything new I'd love to hear it
@paulyd9420
I'd like something minimal like superSU & was wondering about wolfdroid. Did you use the KingRoot page on wolfdroid.com? I'd like check out what worked for you.
Did you have any trouble with updating su binary?
I just picked up a K7 at my local T-Mobile store and have been trying to get it rooted with no luck. My first thought was my usual: Towelroot. when that didn't work I looked it up and saw that some people were having luck with kingroot. I've tried time and time again to root it and have yet to have any luck. Help?
KingRoot rooted my T-Mobile K7. I did have an issue when it ran. A message came up that said something like: KingRoot can't root this phone in the usual way, but there's alternative approach. Do you want to try it? Yes/No. (Lol.. not the exact words). I was worried but went ahead with it. It worked just fine.
I can't help beyond telling you that it does work with the T-Mobile model. Definitely try it again. If it doesn't work, you might try uninstalling & deleting your KR download-- then do a new DL, just in case. You probably already know, but be sure to install a root checker so you can verify the results.
Maybe somebody more knowledgeable can tell you more.
the su binary wasn't hard just use the terminal emulator and it does the rest. I'm really surprised that Noone has a recovery for this it can handle alot. What I'd like to know is why TMobile k7 doesn't have an actually stock recovery all it does is pull up a factory reset a dead Droid (where MetroPCS version had the recovery options) and a safe mode. And everytime I've mentioned this phone I never getta response. And I do realize it's an entry level phone but I watched ppl chase down all the grand prime versions even the 530az. Why not this phone? U][/U]

Quick update: After using KingRoot, I wanted SuperSU instead of having KR processes running in the background all the time. Tried Super-Sume (Google store). It wasn't free, but it did the trick & I'm a happy camper.
Can't say that I like some of the Android changes in the upgrade from KitKat to Lollipop, tho... especially having to deal with permissions every time I want to cut/paste/delete in storage. The emulated storage thing seems iffy, but maybe it has its benefits (?)

Hey wassup Z.
I read through the whole thread and see that you managed to root the tmobile lgk7. Props to you.
I too was able to root using Kingroot. My dilemma is upgrading from 5.1 to 6.0. I managed to fetch a rom claiming to be 6.0 for the k7 but cannot flash it for the likes of me.
if you have been able to since your rooting , how bout hitting me up?.
Ron
P.S. I cant get into recovery mode

Help needed
I am on a TMOBILE variant LG K7 with Marshmallow. Can you help me root without losing my personal data? Do I have to flash a stock ROM first? I have flashed and rooted using Odin many times in the past, but want to make sure I don't screw this up since it is a friend's phone. Thanks so much.
Kevin
If ur on T-Mobile I did it w kingroot then use w0lfdr0id method on terminal emulator to replace kinguser. I've also been told that u can use superSume if u need that or any help pm me
KingRoot does work, it takes several tries and reboots but i got it to work and stick. I know it's frustrating but it will work with the T-Mobile LG K7 (K330) if you are using the newest version of KingRoot without the 5.1.1 "Security Update". If you have installed the update I cannot confirm it will work. The Software version K33010f is what I have. The update moves you to Software version K33010h.
I do not like KingUser, and I tried the Super-Sume app from the Play Store for $3.99. It said I didnt have KingRoot installed so it would not work. I don't know why, it seemed to work for others. I am stuck with KingUser for now.
I've downloaded kingroot directly onto my device and rooted my T-Mobile k7 that way.i did decide to unroot becuase I wanted to learn a little more about the benefits of the process etc. I don't have a computer to use at the moment but I'm thinking of rooting again. I've been told if you root you also need a custom recovery like TWRP. Is this true?

Confirmed compatible roms for Verizon VS996 - LG US998?

So I figured I'd go ahead and root my phone and the install went smooth. I got cocky and installed boombox, lost network. After a day of running stock root, last night I tried AOSP Extended. I got the ARM64 8.1 GAPPS. First attempt, it would just bootloop. Second attempt I made it to the setup screen, once I clicked next on wifi menu, it rebooted. I made it to fingerprint and it rebooted. Third try, I just skipped fingerprint and menu stated one more sec or something like that...rebooted. Is there any confirmed working roms for Verizon or should I just give up? Late last night gave up and hoped on LGUP, upgraded, and somehow the phone kept locking up, rebooting,no network, a mess. So flashed first Nougat dl partition, rebooted, setup. flashed oreo, upgrade mode, installed the 3 files, checked root and it worked. installed ifont and it worked so thought i was good to go and went to bed. Got to work today and installed substratum theme and system.ui hit and all I can do now is see my lockscreen clock, or long press to reboot. This isn't going as planned and not sure what I'm doing wrong. What should I do now? Reflash Nougat DL partition, flash oreo upgrade and I should be back to normal? I could never get adaway to work right so wondering if trying different roms worth it at this point after so many fails.
You using an exfat sdcard by chance?
that driver is a little diva... even though the same as in twrp for example, it somehow sometimes (often, not always) makes the system slow down and reboot for unknown reasons
try to remove sdcard and try again. maybe backup your sdcard and change the filesystem to ntfs or so....
PS: same build (just tried in a morning, later same day afternoon) worked, and later didnt work anymore and ****ed up.
Idk whats wrong there. Exfat is proprietary anyway....
Of all things I tried, I never thought about the sd card. When I get home I'll check, I'm hoping this will be it so I can try your AospExtended port. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give that a shot!
It was exfat. I formatted into NTFS, rebooted. It gave me a warning sd card damaged, would I like to fix it or something to that effect. I clicked yes and installed DotOS with no issues. Thanks for your suggestion, feels great to rock some AOSP like old times! I might give Extended a shot, but this one has everything I'd need. Ran it all day today and no hiccup, everything is running like it should.

Actually he changed his VS996 to a US998 via the Frankenstein Phone method.

He rooted the US998. Same physical device - different firmware.
Yes, the US998 works on Verizon.

Every V30/V30+/V30S on the planet -- except for the T-Mobile H932 -- can be bootloader unlocked and rooted.
If you use Verizon, you can add back Verizon Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE after bootloader unlock and root.

Hopefully one of the Verizon guys will answer on how to do it. I'm not involved in the details for adding back carrier features. But I'm pretty sure I saw mention of Verizon Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE in one or more posts.
Sprint guys are helping the Sprint guys. @JWnSC started a thread specifically for them.
Korean guys made a video and started a thread to help the Korean carrier variants.
