question
Does this build have project astoria in it ?

Didn't work for me, all went through but the phone got stuck in the Nokia Logo, I had to do emergency recovery and flash stock rom again. Do you still have the 10.0.10586.36 ffu?

Why do we need this? Is it not just possible to follow the instructions on WPinternals?
flash 8.1 FFU
run windows update to latest version 8.10.14219.341
unlock bootloader with engineering SBL3
run windows insider, update to win10
enable root

Now that Microsoft does not update +- 35% of their phones to windows 10

Is there a way that we can port android or any other os on it to protest?

But doesn't 920 have 1 Gig of RAM? So it should get the upgrade, maybe later on, like these germans say: http://www.computerbild.de/artikel/cb-Tipps-Handy-Windows-10-mobile-Lumias-Update-14148579.html

I really hope that the 1GB phones will get WM 10, it is running fine on my 920. But I would like to make a statement to Microsoft, they promised WM10 and now...
When I look at the official website, (microsoft.com/nl-nl/windows/windows-10-specifications) (Select the mobile tab)
This is being told:
Phones and devices compatible for WM10:
Lumia 1520, 930, 640, 640XL, 730, 735, 830, 532, 535, 540, 635 1GB, 636 1GB, 638 1GB, 430, 435, BLU Win HD w510u, BLU Win HD LTE x150q, MCJ Madosma Q501
So if it is true, can we port any other up-to date OS to the not supported phones? Sailfish would be the ultimate payback.

I can't seem to download the file, it just jams. I can download any other file from Mega but not this one. Do you possibly have another file, maybe the 1 you posted is corrupt.
Thanks

I know w10m is the latest and all the goodies it has, but on my 920 and in my father's 820 doesn't work too good. I'm thinking we could get the wp8.1 update 2 to get the keyboard support, but I can't get it through the insider program. Could we get it from a phone that has is and create a rom for our phone?

I have that one installed in my 920 and in my father's 820. Battery life sucks and sometimes you have to reset the phone by pressing power + vol-, and calendar doesn't allow you to see more than one month at the same time. I don't see any advantage in w10m to make me move from wp8.1 other than the bluetooth keyboard (and selfiestick) support. That's why I was asking for the wp8.1 u2 since that one introduced the bt kb support. I've seen your post at htcmania, I might try your rom, wiping everything and doing a clean install, but from what I heard, battery life would be worse than wp8.1

Sadly bootloop no way to get this installed! :/ tried both roms! SUCKS all that time I spend extracting those files....

and what's interesting flashing didn't even replace a provider logo — any ideas why?

This method was working well but microsoft block it i think because for my works before and now no

Can someone upload a W10 ROM for the Lumia 920, with unlocked loader and root access. The one on this thread flashes on the phone without any errors using windows phone internals, but goes into a boot loop with the Nokia logo..

I retried the flash and did a hard reset using the details below, after it went into the Nokia Boot loop. The phone reset in about 10-15 minutes with TWO reloads and started working with Windows 10 Great. Updates downloading.....
Factory reset
With the phone turned off press and hold the Volume DOWN key and then connect the charger.
An exclamation mark should now appear.
Now press the following buttons in the exact order: Volume UP, Volume DOWN, POWER then Volume DOWN
This will now fully reset the device and restore it to factory defaults........

[Q] Change the Language on Nokia Lumia 800

Dear community,
there's a serious problem with my Nokia Lumia 800 which I've bought September last year in China mainland (currently I'm in Germany). The device itself is beautiful and awesome , everything works flawless, EXCEPT:
In the language settings I can only select between English, Simplified and traditional chinese. Even when I click on English, there are still controls that are completely shown in chinese. There doesn't seem to be any other language available. Even the keyboard layout is uncustomizable - and that's a problem for me because I'm used to the German keyboard layout etc.
I googled for a long time and end up with the result that it isn't possible. But a few days ago I've discovered this forum and found a thread showing how to flash the firmware with different region firmwares. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735874)
So I followed the steps. Everything goes the right way until it begins to flash. It starts to check (checking mode) and then it comes..... An error message that says that the Nokia Care could not establish a connection to my Lumia. I tried the same procedure on many other computers I have with various operating systems (Windows x64, x86 and Vista x86), always getting the same error message.
I followed these steps (of course all required drivers were installed successfully):
Disconnect the USB cable from the device (I did)
Turn off the phone (Yes, has already been turned off when I started flashing!!)
Reconnect while pressing the VOL up button (Also did)
Click Retry
Pray that it works
Hopeless... I click cancel, the program shows a Message box with an error caused by clicking cancel and when I disconnect my Lumia and press the power off/on button, it just boot normally... (dafuu??)
I've REALLY tried everything I could and I'm really close to despair. Is there an easier way to do change the language? Is there anything I did wrong?
 Help is greeeeeeeeatly appreciated, pleeeeease help me with my problem, thank you sooooooo much in advance!!!! :good:
BTW: Sorry for my bad English, even if I tried to do my best I know there are some serious grammar mistakes

Hi Frank,
so, first of all you could check if you have a Lumia 800 with qualcomm or DLOAD bootloader.
To do this:
1) turn off you phone
2) push VOL-Up button (and keep it pushing)
3)push power button (and keep it pushing) until you feel a short vibration
4) connect your phone to your computer
it should now show the installation of qualcomm or dload lumia
but be careful: If you have qualcomm Lumia 800, you will get a message of formating your drive. DO NOT DO THAT!!! Klick cancel!! otherwise, you'll brick your phone.
If you have qualcomm, you're damn lucky and you can flash custom roms!
I'll recommend my custom rom FunkyROM v1.0 :good:
if you like, you can also write a pm to me, i'm also german
but usually, we should discuss this here in the thread, that other people with the same problem are getting a solution
oh, btw: grammer doesn't matter at all

Hi, thank you veeery much for your quick reply. Hope you didn't became inpatient - I had to complete a physics project and a presentation (Präsentationsprüfung). They had more priority
I also prefer discussing on the thread
Maybe I'm one of those damn lucky people because when I wanted to procced the firmware flash, Windows began to install a Qualcomm whatever driver and failed to install because it's missing? And what does the "lucky" really means?
I took a deeper look at your custom ROM. First of all I just want to thank you and let you know how awesome you and your work is. Now is there a manual with steps for beginners? (Even I'm a hacker on iOS, I'm a super noob on Windows Phone -> the perfect German word: "[email protected]" )
Thaaaanks alot in advance,

Sorry, I've another question:
What should I do with the *.nb file?

Hi there,
i've attached Dewe's Nokia Lumia Downloader 0.5 in the second post of this thread:
[CustomROM] FunkyROM v2.0 - Lumia 900 RM-823 - All official lang [updated 20.03.2013]
Just open the tool and klick the "download" button, to flash the .nb file to your phone.
If your phone doesn't actually have wp7.8, it might be possible that your phone is not booting without updated amss & adsp files, which are on partition 3 of the phone. If this happens, flash these files to partition 3 of your phone using "dd" in ubuntu: wp7.8 amss & adsp
But before doing anything: make a backup of all 9 partitions of the phone!! see this thread for information: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27120180&postcount=1

hmm I have just been nosy and tested the check that lordmaxey suggested for which loader I have, the lappy flashed up it was installing a couple of things, and now my lumia 800 is completely dead, doesn't charge either now what the hell went wrong

that's no good... You probably clicked "OK" to format the drive by mistake... If you had qualcomm and clicked OK to format, your phone is dead.
Sorry.
You can also try to push the power button for more than 10 seconds. If you're lucky, you can switch on your device after that again...
hi lordmaxey,
no I was very careful on that score there was no indication to ask for a format, there were only two flashes of loading something suggesting it was loading a driver or something, and I did also try the long press restart to no avail, and as I said I even put it on charge to see if it was alive in that direction but no.
however I am now breathing a sigh of relief, as I reverted to the old ploy of if all else fails pull the battery, and almost jumping up and down with glee it restarted, I was not looking forward to telling my wife it was dead I can tell you.

is possible you have too old software and update server not recognize or give update for current phone version. you can use Nokia Software Recovery Tool to update to latest official WP8 version: 3051.40000.1349.0025 (this is latest official version of WP8.0 called "Black")... also dont forget to update Nokia system apps after software upgrade (you can use app SysApp Pusher from Store)
after if you want test version of WP8.1 via Preview for Developers, just use links from my previous post
thanks for replying. before i saw your reply i had already used Nokia Software Updater for Retail and i updated my phone's system
to firmware version: 3051.40000.1349.0002 and not 3051.40000.1349.0025 as you mentioned
and the software version is still OS 8.0 not 8.1 or other versions
when i connect to the software updater it tells me that there are no newer versions. it doesn't show the 8.1 version
8.1 not official released. You must activate Preview for Developers to install 8.1. Read my first post, there is link how to make this

you cant flash android on WP devices or use apk files... is impossible... and why to go switch from horse to donkey
also no way to use black market or any other market on WP. Why you think WP OS is most secure OS without one malware or virus? because no c*ap and bogus app like on android...
if you want app for free watch for promotional period of apps.. in 3 year i collect pay software worth more than $2000... just be patient and many good apps and games can get free or for cheap price...

P.S.
all topic about illegal/pirated stuff here on forum is forbidden, but only for info you can use max 10 pirated XAP files on developer unlocked phone (but you must pay $19/year to Microsoft for Developer unlock)...
Similar, but worse problem here.

Hello. I have a similar problem, and as you stated I believe the OS version is so old that the server does not recognize it. So I have tried several of Nokia's apps, Software Updater for Retail, Care Suite and they do recognize the phone, the software and it immediately states there is an update ready. However, when it tries to put the phone in Flash Update mode, the phone does not boot and I get an error saying there was a problem. If I disconnect the phone, press volumen-down and on buttons I can reset it and Works fine, but I am unable to do an update.
Here are the details for the phone:
Lumia 920
Country Variant PR
OS Versión 8.0.10211.204
Firmware revisión number 1232.5957.1308.0002
Radio Software version 1.0.202093.3
Firmware Update Notifier 1.1.0.3
Silent Installer 1.5.0.0
Build ID 153556
Extras+Info App Versión 3.8.1.10
I really don't know what to do. My phone hasn't even received GDR2, much less 3 and for sure it probably won't receive 8.1. Any information on how I can manually place the phone in Flash Update mode so maybe the care suite Works??? I was able, through the care suite to put in in test mode, but not in flash update mode.
Thanks in advance. Posting in the Nokia forums was absolutely no help at all. Could it be that I am doing something wrong with the care suite??? I used instructions from several sites to try to use the care suite.

Hello Anaheiim.
When the software tries to make the Nokia go into Flash Update mode, the phone stays at the NOKIA logo after rebooting. After about a minute, the application on the PC, say for example the Multisoftware Updater cancels out. In the case of Multisoftware updater, the error says : product in UEFI mode did not appear.
I can reset my phone and I get back the normal operations, but it appeas it never goes into a mode that is needed to download the software, or I don't have a driver or something similar to talk to the phone from my PC when it goes into that mode.

Hello again Anaheiim, unfortunatelly it has been no luck with the method you posted. I downloaded all the components fine. I downloaded the firmware I needed. I am able to get to the point when I try to recover the phone. I turn it off, plug the USB cord (already connected to the PC) and press the volumen down-power keys at the same time until I get ONE quick vibration. I then click the retry button on the tool on the PC. It starts trying to update, the phone shows the NOKIA logo mid-screen, most of the time it reboots and it shows it again and then goes directly into the Windows Phone logo and then back in to the start menú. Otherwise it just sits at the Nokia Logo. Either way, the PC App after a few minutes tells me it can't recover. Usually no error. Tried several different USB ports. Sometimes on some ports I get this error: DTL Connection: Could not connect to media. DTL Back-End error code = 0x8400A403. DTL Back-End: Driver initialization failed. DCM status code = 0x84004415, Common USB DCM: No device found from the target USB port, last error code = 0x80070003. .
Exception..
But that's it. Doesn't ever go into Flash Update mode.

1. From what I know, Windows phones usually come with bootloaders that cannot be unlocked, so good luck trying to unlock it.
2. Windows is not written in RAM, RAM gets reset every time you turn off your phone. Your phone will boot up from a ROM before accessing RAM.
3. If you really want to boot Android, the only way is to load Android OS onto the RAM from a different boot location. It's called dual boot. Google it.

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B8YPw4HjmqNCZktOZy1OTEN2ZVE&usp=sharing
Get on the drive, go to your device folder, select the wanted version inside BIOS folder
What to do :
1.) Start by plugging the usb drive into your computer, and format it to FAT32 using any formatting tool
2.) Now you need to uncompress the downloaded firmware :
you will find a "Firmware_X.X.X" folder inside, take all of its content, and extract it to your freshly formatted drive.
here's what looks like the root of your usb:
3.) Your USB Drive is ready, now just plug the OTG cable to your tablet, plug your HUB onto that OTG
and fill it with your keyboard and the USB Drive just created.
4.) Press power button until you see the screen backlight, when you see it repeatidely smash "Esc" key on the connected keyboard.
You will see the bios 6 square configuration screen.
Hit "Boot Manager" and select your USB in the list.
5.) The tablet should now boot from your USB, booting to a UEFI Shell. Depending on your device, it might be either 64 or IA32.
Now you just let startup.nsh script do the firmware flashing init, it should drive you to a flashing BIOS screen.
6.) Follow instructions on screen and let the tool flash your BIOS automatically.
Once done, the tablet will shut down.
Congrats! You successfully updated your BIOS !
It is my first tutorial, i will post some photos of steps in the future so come back, the guide will be better soon !

Max.
Hi,
I have bought the Cube i6 Air 3G a week ago and i'm still waiting for it to arrive.
Have you update the win 8.1 to win 10?
Does everything works correctly?
Regards
re
Hi, I successfully updated the BIOS as of now,
I changed the bootloader animation to nexus one on Cube ROM.
I also manager to boot on Android x86 but it had too many drivers issues.
Still, 4.4.4 stock cube is working and i reflashed to a new partition scheme of 9Go
and i'm currently testing some win10 pen drives for install, will keep you updated.
Édit: oh you were asking about thé tablet? Weil jack has default, charging takes hours, glass is plastic, firmware is pain but hell this is a goodamn good tablet for its price !

Max

I achieved installing Win10 x32 Pro on Cube i6 Through hacking WinPE installation environnement, but now i'm struggling finding the drivers. touchscreen, battery and vital things like hd graphics are not working as of now. Will post a tutorial on how to install Win10 in given time when i'll get out of this mess!
My tablet has arrived yesterday.
From what the little i've used it, it has good performance especially in android.
A lot faster compared to my last android tablet (Cube U39GT).
Something i didn't like was the size of the icons and text in android, my next step is to root and change the dpi.
Regarding windows 10, i found in a chinese tablets blog with win 8 and 10 drivers.
I haven't tested it, but as soon as i find it again, i will let you know where to download them from.
You haven't tried the normal win 10 upgrade? From the microsoft icon?

I did not try anything as i like "stock" versions of my windows, but tonight i got it working all the way !
My cube i6 is running perfectly windows 10 and oh my god what a paradise it is ! The tablet experience got way better onto that version.
Can you try to update from the icon you are talking about ? i'd be curious if it works. anyway, i'm currently writing+uploading for the win10
tutorial for this tablet, so you'll be able to flash it late tonight, or tomorrow.
EDIT: The dpi is correct in android, only the status bar icons and some other are not in correct dpi but that is KitKat issue I guess. still interested in resolving that though. I'm currently hacking android lollipop ROM also, i'll keep you tuned on that. For rooting, i used KingRoot, it worked, but after a reboot, it tells me "root" is wrecked, so i guess there is some investigation to do there, but I was mainly focused on getting windows 10 ENGLISH STOCK version running to share it with you guys.
EDIT2: Still uploading, but tutorial is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/guide-how-to-install-windows-10-t3252042 and it should work on any Z37xx powered device. Enjoy !
Hello,
I'm using this tablet from 2 days now. great !
But, i got wifi problem after sleep : wifi chip cut and never found network anymore.
has to reboot, and all goes right.
same in win and android.
Did you hear about this ? many poeple complain about this.
Any trick or advice ? Is this bios correct this ? Is your bios work on i6 3g dual-boot ? (there is 2 bios for dual boot ?...)
Thanks !
Hi,
I've also have the same problem with the wifi.
I usualy disconnect the wifi and reconnect it, but sometimes it doesnt work and have to reboot the tablet.
I've not noticed it in windows but maybe it's because i'm using the tablet a lot more in android.
I've tryed to update to win 10 using the microsoft icon, but i got an error and was unable to complete the upgrade.

Hello, i have such a tablet for now about 6 Months and it is awesome so far (i often use win8.1).
My Tablet has also DUAL Boot with Android 4 and win 8.1 Bing.
I tried to upgrade to win10 but i also got a message that the partition can not be resized by windows. So i cant upgrade to win 10 with the normal tool from microsoft.
Is there any Solution yet to get this to work?
Anyway, i tried to boot from usb (win8.1 / ubuntu / gparted) but it is not working at all. When i try to boot true windows Advanced Boot Options, the BIOS says that there is no USB device.
When i use the EFI Shell to mount the USB Stick i can see that the BIOS has recognized the USB Stick.
I think that is all very strange, but i will try to update the BIOS soon. The serialnumber is not the same as from @stalker2106 but i will try it.
I hope there is a way to get win 10 working, but Ubuntu would be even better for performance.
Greetings from Germany.

Check windows 10 Post, there is no need to update BIOS to fix this error, your USB has to be in GPT partition style, check answer on the other thread
But usually the bios update should work, as it did on my tablet. But why bother taking risk if you can get it working without it
Hi,
I have sucessfully updated to win10
I have bios 203 in my cube and serial i632gb1510xxxxxxxxxxx, does anybody have tried to update to 206 on such setup ?
What are the chances that I will brick my device ?
I have downloaded latest Cube i6 roms from cube site (may 2015) . There are two bios-es which have to be installed in chronological order.
Shall I do it first, and then try to update to 206 ?
Edit: I was not patient and tried it on my own.I have successfully updated bios and tablet has started to both android and windows
I will perform some functional tests afterwards.
Actual steps :
I have first downgraded bios to 201(provided here )
Flashed bios1 from link provided
Flashed bios2 from link provided
Flashed bios 206 from guide in first post
Edit2:
I have tested basic functionalities like : Gyro-sensors, WIFI, GPS, 3G network and yet everything works like charm.
Maybe a placebo, however I have the feel that android runs like two times faster
I do suggest to update the windows, however I take no responsibility if you will brick your device. Even if the setup is like mine, neither if it differs
Regards
Why do you first downgrade to 201?
What do you mean with bios1 and bios2?
Many thanks and question
Hello Stalker,
I am new here and i want to
thank you for the instructions!
I bought a cube i6 from china.
It is the 'i6 air remix',
So it should have only Android on it.
When it arrived. it didn't function.
The only think that happens is booting to theEFI-shell.
I could switch between Android and Windows in the boot settings.
But Android did not boot.
I have updated the bios with your instructions
now firmware 2.0.6 is installed.
But still i can not boot Android.
I found a few flash tools and android for the cube i6 .
But i don’t know what is the right version flash tool I have to use.
Maybe you have advise or the right android and flash tool in your google drive download area?
Kind regards and many thanks in advance.

The truth is, the 206 BIOS provided is hacked off i6 remix repository from cube, so i guess there is no big deal flashing it on your device as it works on regular i6.
Moreover, you can use any version of the flash tool as long as you flash a correct rom for your device, which i would suggest to download from official cube repository or geekbuying or so.
Android Geecbuying
Hello Stalker,
Ok. Thank you!
I will try Geecbuying.
Hopefully the windows drivers will function.
There isn't a way to flash from USB I suppose?
Greetings
Hi, well, actually, you should flash over USB with à windows computer. MFT by Intel is recommended. I shall make some tutorial about Android installation and partition resizing.
flash and resize partitions
That is super. When you want to do so.
I was indeed wondering or there would be one android partition on the tablet or two partitions (one for android, one for windows).
I also questioned myself how to see that there are partitions.
In earlier times when I was working with a pc, i use F-disk or partition-magic for this kind of work.
But on the tablet I do not have a clue...
So if you could make me wiser on this, I would be very thankful.
Maybe you could boot on some gparted liveusb? Or inside efi shell some commands could help

no particular reason, I just wanted to know, which version of bios is in the latest firmware provided by geekbuying
Additional condition in my decision mechanism was that my serial did not match mentioned ones in w10 thread from stalker, so somehow I have used sleepy sloopy logic and tried to minimalize the risk (I know it have no rational reason and logic behind it at all)
Therefore, I tried the ones from geekbuying repository, to be sure to have latest provided from "official source".

Question Accidently hard bricked my phone [Edit : Phone's fixed!!]

Is there any way to unbrick my hard bricked Motorola Edge 20 fusion?
I tried to flash stock rom via lmsa tool and it failed.
Whenever it is connected to pc / is charging, only response is the white led blinking light.
It is also not detected by pc too.
Edit : Changed the board under warranty and is working fine!!
I don't have a solution but... it's been 11 days now. Have you had any luck getting this device to work?
Asking 'cause I own one and plan to root it.
If you are able to power your device into the bootloader (usually to hold power button and a volume key when powering on), and you are able to scroll down to "unlock bootloader", that will then allow your device to be able to post into fastboot mode.
You will just need the fastboot drivers from google https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb installed on your pc, then you will be able to send fastboot commands to your device.
Your options at this stage would be to find the stock images for your device, or just download TWRP and Lineage.

This video below is for the Shield, but the process is all the same for android, minus how you power into the bootloader.
The shieldroot tools will not work for phones, but you can dl them and ammend the code to flash your OS.
This video will just teach how to unlock the bootloader, how to install the fastboot driver, and some TWRP knowledge if you are unfamiliar. Starting it at 1:08 would skip the shield stuff

I just came to know that edge 20 lite and edge 20 fusion have different hardware. Mine's edge 20 fusion(Indian variant) and I accidently flashed lites rom which resulted in hardbricking the phone. I searched for edge 20 fusions rom and it is nowhere to be found. The Motorola's flashing software (lmsa) also downloaded the wrong rom for my phone as both the phones model number are same. So I recommend you to wait a bit longer if you have edge 20 fusion.

Thank you very much for your help but my phone is working fine now!!. I hope this post will help others.
As for my phone, It was totally a hard brick and the only solution to it was to change the phones board.
Whoa, thanks for the heads-up! There should be a separate forum thread for Edge 20 Fusion since it runs different hardware.
BDW, if you don't mind answering, how is the Motorola warranty and service in India? Did they charge you for the replacement? Was it a good experience?

The service is good. If the phone is under warranty, then there is nothing to worry. I've got my phone repaired completely free of cost.

i just recently purchased an edge 20 fusion (australian variant) and am currently in the 3 day waiting period for OEM unlocking to become available.
i'm still mostly a novice at all of this, however hopefully someone can confirm for me or correct me:
does unlocking the bootloader, and then rooting the phone (install magisk, etc.) not require a rom? do i only need a rom if i want to change from the factory stock (+updates) rom i currently have?
or do i need a rom in order to get magisk working properly, and pass safety net, etc. too?
