Marshmallow on v10 - T-Mobile LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Do anyone know when we will get 6.0 on our v10 or port over cyanogen marshmallow. Also how hard will it be for someone to port or make a build for our device. I am willing to learn if I can get some people on board who have experience tho hold my hands with these steps.

We have a bootable cyanogenmod but its not operational yet

I want this

SirAltus has made a very nice stock ROM for our V10's. It is stable and all the TMO & LG fluff has been removed. When Marshmallow comes, SirAltus has advised that he will update the Custom ROM accordingly. The V10 really was quite easy to unlock the bootloader and then Root; not Nexus easy but pretty darned close.

And the developers who are maybe working on a port - I hope it helps somehow...

I don't know, posted it just in case
The creator said it was stable enough to use as a daily... I'm almost done creating a flashable zip based on it, but there's probably about a 90% chance of it not working... Is someone willing to test it?
I am warning that this is the first port I have done. I used CM11 11/10 Nightly as the base and the posted ROM as the Port, and followed the instructions
HTML:
here
with minor adjustments to allow ART to run. At the very least, I could post it and someone more experienced than me could look at it and tell me what they think?

I'd be happy to test. But if something goes wrong I can go back with backup from recovery, right?

Yup, happy to test it too. I doubt it'll work due to kernel issues but its worth a shot!

When I get back to my room, I will try. Recovery shouldn't be hurt, but just in case, you should reflash it after installation. I am warning, this is my first time working on something like this and preferably, someone with more experience than me should take a look at it before the ROM is flashed.

I'm back. I forgot to mention previously, this is for the D801 model. I could attempt to create other ROMs for other devices, but I will need to do some checking first.

Hold your horses. It'll happen when it happens. Let the devs do their thing (side note running an almost completely stable build of Lollipop on my brick of a tablet Asus TF300T).
In development for the Galaxy S4 too: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3/development/wip-cyanogenmod-12-t2936990
Can someone maybe explain to me the issue with the kernel? I mean, if other devices (from LG and other OEMs) can boot this ROM, why can't we?

Nokia X has less activity on xda because its low legacy device. Custom roms are hard to say because even some sections have very less number of roms. and Nokia X is not android pre-installed device its Open Source. It has its own operating system running maybe you should try making that simpler.

It's not Microsoft that releases it. It would be Nokia and of it is not a android phone from the start that will make it even harder.
And make no mistake. Android is not open source except for the AOSP which is different that what Google puts on devices. Also people don't build things for devices they don't own.

What I would have to do xiaomi instead of getting so many roms without major changes ... I should have gotten 7.0 a long time ago, that's why the terminals are paid

And never understand that crap of closed beta and the like ... however closed that this, with so many people is normal to leak, which I do not care, if you want to do something is done for everyone and then Do not do it
Xiaomi makes very good terminals, roms are another story, many, too many and most and nothing is always very late in the versions of android

I know its public, but you did it already with the previous leak, so please keep this in your mind for the next beta:
i think you dont get my point, when xiaomi does see that peoples leakes this rom (ofc it will leak, but not on xda where xiaomi could see it that easy), they won't do any of this betas anymore... and those betas are really helpful for peoples like @bgcngm to bing a better and earlier Cyanogenmod to us.
btw you just provide the zip, no more informations like how to install, even the link to the origin of the zip ot the original link to the upload...

flash miui old build before flashing the ROM,sitting with a bricked device here as i went directly from cm 14.1 to MIUI.
REPEAT DON'T FLASH IF YOU ARE ON CM OR USE FASTBOOT.
Done, more fluid, more free ram memory, just one thing, error on samsung gear app
Can I keep root if I flash this update? It took me forever to figure out how to root! Will I have to reflash supersu? Which version?

Version 2 of CoreUI (MIUI with Mods) fully supports both, T and w8.. However right now I'm waiting with the release because if Cm gets fully stable (almost done) I'll use that one as a base. Right now we are in Tw as base Rom.

So what i hear the coreUI or whoever you are saying is it will not be true MIUI, it is not based on touchwiz or CM. You are basically theming those to look like it and sorry but thats not MIUI!

That's completely wrong. IT IS MIUI. Ever heard of the patchrom-tool? Xiaomi released it to allow porting of their UI to other devices. For that, a base rom (preferably stock or AOSP) will be patched with MIUIs Framework code. It is true MIUI ^^

Probably dual screen is bit complex and LG has done very good job in making bug free at least till now i haven't found any bug. While for other phones they can do by changing the OS bit and almost all feature remain same. Also one reason is vietnam shipped products dont have firmware for bootloader unlocking without that you can't flush any OS

Personally, I'm not too worried about custom roms because Android 10 is about as good as it gets anyways. I mean 11 is fantastic but not a must have. I just want to have root access that's what really bug's me
There is a way used in lg g8(not our device ) can get temp root access without unlocking bootloader I'd like to give a try but if it hardbrick there is no way to recover
