Free Plex apk for Android 5.1.1 lollipop - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Do-Gooders,
I recently got a new phone the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime w/ Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
I need to find the free apk Plex app. For some reason I think this phone may be too new for a free apk Plex app for it. I'm seeing apk for Android 4, 4.4 and so now but not for Android 5.1.1.
Can someone please send me a link or can tell me a good apk app website to look.
Thanks a bunch,

For plex you can get it on apkmirror http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/plex-inc/plex/plex-android-4-17-2-488-android-apk-download/

Not working
Thanks but it didn't work. Keeps wanting me to pay.
I wasn't able to post a screenshot due to the fact that I'm a new user on XDA and don't have my 10 posts up yet Stupid Rule...
Do I need to root my phone or something?

The app is free but you have to pay for the service itself.
Not paying for the service is technically illegal so I wont post how to do it here.

plex app is on google play for free, and claims to support v 3 and up.
if the app requires you to pay for certain features, or whatever the app does, then pay for it, or go ask on some other forum.

Plants vs Zombie APK

That was released in the Amazon Appstore for free (for one day). I tried to get it, but it says that it's not available in my country. :'( Any ideas, guys?
Buy it from the Market then, anything short of that is piracy, which is not condoned on XDA.

If its not a law in his/her country, then its not subverting a law. Outside the US, they are not bound to our laws. Telling someone to google search is not telling them to break the law, what they do with this information is up to them. Its a moral issue, not a legal issue.
I purchased PvZ, but if they can't then what they choose to do is none of my business.

I'm not promoting warez or piracy in the least, all I said was "go search google".
I've seen that in dozens of other topics, people saying to search google, sometimes even quoting exact file names or saying the name of the file sharing site. I'm not telling him which site to go to, what file name to search for or anything like that.
Hell, I'm not even promoting avoiding payment... there is no possible way for this user to pay for this, short of coming to the USA which just to purchase a effing $2 app is ludicrous.

I'm not the OP, but my country--in southeast asia--also doesn't allow me to get Amazon's Appstore to download the free apps. Which is quite a strange ruling because I am an Amazon customer and have purchased books and gifts before.
Anyway, I found the free internet trial version of Plants vs Zombie and downloaded it onto my PC. After playing it for half an hour, I decided I can't see the charm of the game. Of course there are others who like it--different folks, different strokes--but I'm glad I saved myself some dough.

I've been using the walnuts to block as many lanes as I can and concentrate on protecting the remaining ones with pee shooters. then let the mofo's stack up behind the walnuts and then BOOM!!! cherry bomb the f out of them. so much fun

I'm from the Philippines, and believe me when I say it; I know everything there is to know about piracy--my country, unfortunately, are pioneers when it comes to piracy. But I was not attempting to get an APK illegally--I wanted to have something that was offered for free in the first place, and tell you what--if only the amazon appstore is available in my country, I'd gladly pay for the said app.

XDA has strict no-piracy forum policies. What you're doing is supporting piracy wrapped up in loose wording to try and cover yourself. It's a weak argument I'd expect from an immature teenager, not someone trying to be beneficial to the XDA community.
What the OP *can* do is try to spoof Amazon or Market into thinking you're from a different country, and paying with a card. There's comments all over XDA where folks who don't have Market in their country spoof their IP, and put money into a Paypal debit card, and pay through that. It allows you to purchase it, even if you have to jump through hoops to throw your money at it.
If you're in an embargoed country with the USA, I can't promote any method for that - since that means legally you're not allowed to purchase US goods.

Serious License Issues / Donation key not working

Hi, I am using Greenify on Lollipop along with Xposed framework. I purchased greenify license through amazon appstore and now I am facing license issues.
Earlier, if I installed Greenify from playstore directly, the app wouldn't be able to detect the license from amazon's appstore and kept pestering me to download the amazon appstore even though it was already downloaded.
I used a workaround method, where I would first download the old greenify app from Amazon Appstore, fire it up and allow it to detect license. As soon as soon as it detected license, I would update the app from playstore and it would work flawlessly.
Now on Lollipop, this workaround doesn't work because the old Greenify from amazon appstore just won't install on Lollipop. Any suggestions?
Please help @oasisfeng - I dropped an email to your developer account however I did not get any response.

I have the same problem, except mine is just the play store. I installed both Greenify + Donation package but it kept saying that I need to purchase it for experimental features to work.

For some people, if the donation pack is installed first and then Greenify is installed, it recognises the donation. Try it.

On amazon appstore the donation is via IAP. No donation package. And the app has always failed to detect license if installed directly. I have to always follow the same tiresome procedure mentioned in OP to get it working everytime I flash a new rom.

It's sad to see that the developer doesn't respond even once. I've asked this several times over emails and xda posts but all my queries fell on deaf ears. If I have paid for the extra features then I should be able to use them. Anyway, I am considering abandoning greenify and switching to something like PowerNap for xposed. I'll never buy anything from this developer again.

I completely agree, his way of verifying is clearly faulty since so many people have the same issue.
He seems to care more about not missing out on a few bucks, than let paying users have the best possible experience.
And not responding is just plain rude. I know you are reading this @oasisfeng.

I'm sorry to hear that. You email might be buried in tons of mails I received everyday. I really can't afford replying most of the mails, which will leave me no time for developing Greenify. Really busy recently and can't even check posts on XDA for several days. I never meant to ignore any of your mails or posts.
The donation package in Amazon Appstore is really a disaster for all the supporters and me. I have messed it totally and even can't bring it back in Amazon Appstore for quite some time. I'm still trying to figure out the situation to find a proper solution, and I really don't want to abandon this form of donation package, since you have paid for it. Today, I've just re-submitted the Amazon version and waiting for approval. Hope it won't take long.
I've written a full FAQ article just now for troubleshooting all the issues of donation package. Hope it could help more users.

Greenify has no extra checking, verification, or piracy-detecting mechanisms, besides the standard license verification of Google Play Store. If you don't believe that, just ask the cracker of the piracy version.
The trouble you have met in license verification doesn't necessarily mean "I seem to care more about not missing out on a few bucks". The experience of donation package may not be optimal, but never due to intentional extra protections.
Since you have installed a piracy version of Greenify before purchasing the donation package, I really have no idea what might cause the trouble in your case.
Still, you can try the instructions in the FAQ, where I added a possible solution for "polluted installation" from some piracy versions. http://greenify.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/633133

Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it. But no luck on a working pro version.
Also idk if you have the SuperSU app, but he offers a donation option and also and option to enable pro version anyway without donation. Or XPrivacy were you get a pro license file which the app can detect.
Or a separate pro version. Just some ideas that will bypass these problems.

Thanks for your suggestion. More ways to accept donation package means more work to do, some even involves server side deployment. At present, I still need to devote most of my limited time to the development of core functionality in Greenify.
I'm planning to introduce an alternative way to get donation package without paying, perhaps via recommending the app to your friends.
you can add me to the list of people taht PAID but can't use the donation package now.

Many of us would welcome an Playstore independent license verification, as you might have noticed. I've refrained from buying the donation package, as I could not use it anyway (microG here and no Playstore/GApps). I'd wonder if I were the only one. So investing some time into an alternative license-check would, in the end, pay.
BTW: I'm also one of those whose mail was "buried in tons of mails" of your inbox, and didn't see a reply (you've got my sympathy, though, even if that doesn't pay a secretary )

S8 Google Play Music APK?

Google Play Music has a limit of 50,000 free music upload storage. No one is going to hit that limit. That said, Google has a promo with Samsung were Galaxy S8 owners get 100,000 free upload storage.
I want that storage.
Back during the days of the Galaxy S3, Samsung had a promo with DropBox were owners of the phone get 50Gb free storage for two years. All they had to do was log in with their DropBox account on a new GS3. It was later found out that the promo can be activated on other phones by extracting the DropBox APK from the S3 and downloading it on any phone. I did this back then and it worked. Properly still works to this day, unless DropBox patched it.
You can find it here for those curious.
So I'm wondering, can the same thing be done with the Google Play Music promo? If so, where can I download the necessary file used to activate the promo?
Of course, this is assuming the promo works in the same way as the DropBox promo.
The Play Music promo most likely uses the device ID, model, etc. values hardcoded into the phone's firmware for that promo.
That said, if you "want that storage", buy a ****ing S8. It's a promo for S8 owners for a reason.

The DropBox promo worked on any phone so long as you used the APK from the S3. Play Music is the same.
I own a Pixel phone. Not going to buy a crappy Samsung phone for this.

That only appears if you install lucky patcher or similar app. It just brands that you're a pirate. Uninstall lucky patcher and it will be gone.

I'm not saying that.
Devs must be respected for their work and something needs to be done about pirates, but for ROM devs to make someone's phone almost unusable is just not right.

XDA got no place for lucky patcher as its considered a warez so don't think, post, discuss it here.
