KNOWN BUGS:
One Handed Mode works sometimes and sometimes it does not. Still working on the fix as HTC does not have hardware buttons. Xposed module can be used if you want to experince One Handed Mode.
Some themes have DPI issues. Try changing DPI from build.prop. If single apps like dialler have DPI issues use app settings module to change DPI.
Users may face Inverted Touch problem while charging. If So please Report, a fix for this will be provided ASAP after the same if reported in this thread.
You may get bugs. Report below I'll try to fix.
TIPS:
-Pinch away with two fingers in recent apps to get IOS like recent apps.
-Problems downloading from play store? Go to Downloads > Settings> Set download limit to unlimited.
-If you didn't get Whatsapp message popups..Open security and give Whatsapp all permission and make it auto start.
-Open camera app and change picture quality from standard to high for high quality.
-Use WSM tools to install supported Xposed Tools.
-Do Not Update Rom even if there are OTA updates available this shall brick the device.

-TWRP is having some issues. A fresh and less buggy TWRP shall be provided for download in the coming future.
-Device should be charged to 100% before you start flashing.
-Take a backup of your stock ROM before starting installation procedure to be on the safe side.
-Take a backup of your NVRAM which is the IMEI number for your device as sometimes this device tends to flush its IMEI details during flashing.
-Please be patient while the device boots for the first time.(Tip: Connect Device to charger while flashing, if LED turns on after "Mi boot logo" it means flash successful, then there will be the custom Boot animation of the ROM.)
-All the patches will be a flashable zip. So flashing it should not be a problem.
Updates for this ROM shall not be Frequent but as and when possible please don,t ask/pester for updating this ROM.
The bugs shall be fixed when reported in the thread and the thread shall be updated with the link for the bug fix flashable zip.
Please do not mirror without my permission.

I thought this music app should fix the problem since it is a more stable version of the app and i'm sorry for a bad patch. If you unzip the patch and go through the structure over there then u can unzip the ROM and create a flashable file with the the updated app provided originally in the ROM. If not possible for you then I can send you a flashable file in your mail. Just PM me whatever happens

For Music Player i already did what u suggested.. And blocked data connection for updater.. so no more Update problem.. but Still cant Access equalizer.. but thats ok i will be using 3rd party Music App anyway..
But the Huge problem is Videos.. cant seem to play Videos in the default player.. i also tried downloading vlc..it doesnt seems to solve the problem either.. videos either keeps on loading or there's no Visual...

I am yet to figure out something for the video problem facing the same problem since I started using it. I use MX player. Only HD videos take time to load in MX also but it plays all the video.

You can go for V4A. For root its up to you I prefer SuperSu over other root manager. Personal choice and preference.

Sorry for a negative reply but have not tried Qualcomm chipset ROM porting. So I cannot help you out.

Videos Fixed (For now)
Bro, i managed to get the Videos working in MX player without taking too much time to load..
1. download mx player 1.7.32.XX
2. download custome codec in the decoder section
3. turn on s/w decoding in decoder section..
After doing those all the videos seems to play properly without loading too much.. even 1080p ones..
the built in player still sucks though.. hoping for a Fix soon

Hi all,
I didn't get my Symphony Xplorer SII gifted, I actually bought it for myself. And I quite like the phone, it's snappy and smooth right out of the box. The pre-installed launcher is pretty amazingly awful (no apps drawer, homescreens after homescreens filled with apps) but that was easily resolved with a quick download of Nova Launcher. The Super AMOLED screen is really nice too in my opinion. Don't know about battery life as I've only had it for half a day...
But, I agree, too much bloatware on this phone! It's filled with games, half games, adware and other crap. I'd love to get rid of that. So if anyone has an idea on how to root this thing... I'd be very happy. Did a general internet and xda search, but nothing came up so far. (Also happy to help out, although I'm not exactly an avid Android Technician/Geek.)
The phone is apparently a re-branded Konka W980 by the way, but nothing came out of Google for that either!

Framaroot seems to work on the Symphony Xplorer SII
For anyone interested,
It looks like Framaroot works on the Symphony Xplorer ZII (which seems to be a rebranded Konka W980)

To install Framaroot you will need to enable "Install apps from unknown sources" in the settings/security menu.
When running Framaroot it responds with "Success". Make sure to select to install "SuperSU" and not "Superuser" as Superuser didn't seem to work for me when trying to get enable Root Explorer in ES File Explorer. I've only just done this and have not tested a lot, but so far:
- ES File Explorer seems to work in Root Explorer mode.
One weird issue though:
- When uninstalling system/bloatware apps I get a message "Uninstall Unsuccessful" but the app has disappeared from the apps lists. (I tried the fluffy toy game, can't even remember the name as well as the Avengers Demo, both responded with the same error but both are gone from my apps drawer and the amount of free storage space has increased...)
Any tips & tricks are welcome! (What can I uninstall without issues? What should I not touch?)
Also, can anyone tell me how to make sure I disable automatic OTA firmware updates?

Hi Murad,
Yes, I'm positive that the tool I use (and linked to) gives me root access to the phone. SuperSU runs and reports it has root access, and with EF File explorer I can access and modify system folders.
How to do it is quite clearly explained at the page for the tool (link is in my earlier post), I couldn't explain it better myself!
But, this is NOT a method to install other ROMs, I have not found any way to do that yet. It only give you ROOT privileges on the phone. That does allow you to uninstall all bloatware/crapware, so for me that's enough for now. With Nova launcher installed and all bloatware removed I actually really like the phone.

Hi Niamul,
No I have not noticed this issue... But I do use Nova launcher and not the launcher that comes with the phone. I'm not sure but I think it's possible that this message is generated by the launcher, which would explain the difference we're seeing.
I can much recommend installing Nova Launcher. Looks much better by default, you can modify a lot according to your own wishes and it's working more smoothly too!

Rooting, CWM and new firmware of Symphony zll
ok guys, sorry for joining late in this zll party :victory:
I bought it at 28th July, this phone actually a re-brand of konka w981 normal or konka K5 normal, not fingerprint availability. I was told to try symphony w125's rooting way, i tried and set was successfully rooted.
Now the time comes for flashing CWM, in here i bricked my phone and it sent for warranty.
In this time i learned how to flash CWM, it called auto CWM created by MTKDroid tools.
If u guys want full working auto CWM then i'll make a thread for it :fingers-crossed:
Now talk about ROM. konka released 2/3 roms for this phone with several bug fixed and removed unnecessary apps and features, i tried but those are not sole or individually complete rom, they are updates of there previous rom which must be installed in the device, otherwise they never gonna work or update whatever u called
i'm a android lover but not a geek, i don't know any kinda coding so i can't cook them to work with our device. Its a drawback of buying symphony that they never gonna update this phone to android 4.3 or 5 by themselves. Walton is great here, i should buy Walton X1 which has gyroscope and a great developer support :good:
In zll there would be gyroscope but in sensor list we don't find it, maybe it disabled by rom. God knows

Using Flash Tools to Flash TWRP/CWM Recovery to A116
Requirements:
TWRP/CWM Rewcovery
Flash Tool
A computer
A Micromax A116 (obviously)
Steps To Follow:-
1. Install drivers for your phone using Micromax drivers.
2. Extract the Stock ROM folder and replace recovery.img with cwm recovery.
3. Extract and open the SP Flash Tools.
4. In SP Flash Tools, click on Scatter-Loading and the program will ask you the location of the scatter loading file for your device.
5. In the extracted folder of the stock rom, go to the folder named "S9201_MP_F4_B1_IN_MMX_0.16_flasher_user" and select the file "MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc" which is our scatter loading file.
Check only recovery.img, preloader and uncheck all others.
6. Switch off your phone (Remove the battery to make sure it is switched off).
7. In Flash Tool, go to Options and Click USB Mode so that it is enabled. Click options again and then go to DA Download All > Speed and finally select High Speed.
8. Click the Download option (present on the right of Firmware
> Upgrade option) and the flash tool will start looking for your phone.
9. Connect your phone now. The Flash Tool will start the flashing process, the progress of which can be viewed from a yellow progress bar at the bottom of the flash tool.
**Don't interrupt this process as it can potentially brick your device.
**Make sure no power interruption takes place. (Use a laptop to ensure this).
10. After the process completes, a green ring will appear on your device signalling that the process was successful.
11.Disconnect your phone.

Camera 4.3 Patch is made only for stock and it replaces the 4.2 or vice versa. I dont know what will happen with MIUI.
1) Firstly, I will suggest "Dont try".
2) Secondly, if you still want to "Try at your own risk" after taking nandroid backup
3) Do whatever you want to man, coz phones do not explode on faces for any misadventure.

Hi, an absolute newbie here looking for custom ROMs for my Canvas A116 and your ROM looks like the best option. I had a couple of questions:
1. By "Stock ROM" do you mean it is the pure Google Android found on their Nexus devices? If not, are there any such ROMs for my device?
2. By "Working OTA Update" do you mean I can get future versions of Android (like Kitkat) OTA?

By stock ROM he means what OEM MMX has provided with no modifications, if ur looking for nexus style I suggest u can either try superluminadad or oppo r819 stock the earlier is themed aosp android where as the latter is built by oppo as an aosp n ported

Could you please clarify further?
1. I don't want "Nexus Style", rather a pure Android experience (AOSP) without any OEM customization. Simply put, I want the Google Nexus experience on my Micromax device. I will check out "Oppo R819", I remember reading that Oppo is pure Android.
2. Are the updates pushed by the dev of this ROM or by Google itself?

1) BTW I have just released the amazing fast and smoother Final Version of SuperLuminalDAD rom and its a heavily tweaked and tested bugless version of of a rom based on AOSP rom from other model. The rom is very lightweight and all craps are removed.
Don't only think about looks, consider features also. Custom roms are made to work smoother, faster, no-lags, double triple time battery backup. All these features are "always" missing in stock roms. Some stock roms even force close with many apps installed but they work without problem in custom roms.
We don't know what is in your mind (may be you are still scared to flash as you said you are "absolute" newbie). By any chance if you make a mind to flash any other rom then its best to know its features first and if you like them flash and experience them. Otherwise you can go back to stock.
2) This thread is exact copy of factory stock roms of A116 from Micromax (not Google) and OTA comes always from Manufacturer of your Rom based on its hardware configuration.
Why GOOGLE will send OTA for 4,915,298,928 models of phones all over the world from various manufacturers? Google only sends OTA for its own Nexus series and few nexus models from LG, etc.
PS: When anyone mentions "Factory Stock Rom" in xda, generally he/she means the Official Rom from manufacturer of the exact model of the phone and not google.

@shishirdbhat I am glad you asked questions. Many good people like @bharat_goku here are keen to answer questions and help new pals. Thanks to all.
1) SLD is like a base for everyone, from minimum user to heavy app users. Lots of free memory and longest battery backup. It doesn't have OTA feature, but now the Final version is released, there will be very few occassional updates and not any major one. I provide small flashable zip updates, which you can flash when you want to. Otherwise this is perfectly worked out version. If you try it, leave feedback.in SLD thread, NOT HERE.
2) Android is Open Source Project (AOSP) by Google and other manufacturers use it with various hardware customizations of their various models with FLASHY UIs and thousand other things on their own. Manufacturers like Samsung are successful for their unique UI and added features. You will learn a lot from various people on xda. Just keep visiting. Good Luck.
Installed the tweaked a116i....its really stable and lite. Touch is also quite responsive. Just one query I have if we can increase the sound abit more. Before this rom i was using the xperia rom and the sound was amazing. Keep up the gr8 work. Cheers:thumbup:

There is an option in Developers Mode, to increase a volume little bit than normal. But it should be done carefully. With wrong settings there is risk of blowing the speaker. In tweaked version the sound is pretty clear and marginally better than normal. Still we can't expect the LOUDEST volume like unbranded chinese phones from branded chinese phones

1. After setup. it says com.android.phone has stopped. Basically CM boots and all but as soon it you get to the setup it will throw that error. You're going to have to use fast reflexes lol to click ok and then click next on setup. Currently, the error won't go away at all. Working on fixing that somehow.
2. No Wi-Fi Yet.

1. remove com.android.phone error easy: in UnofficialportCM11T520.zip need remove TeleService.apk (\system\priv-app\TeleService.apk)
2. for work wifi - need replace \system\etc\wifi from original firmware
Now I'm able run cm, connect to internet, play with settings and some apps, but got the problems:
- sdcard not available
- camera not available
- I got problem with connect to my PC
- google play crashed

reading through the original thread it looks like the dev has abandoned the CM development and is focusing primarily on the AOSP. I flashed it and its working well except I cant get the SD to mount. In the original thread people are able to manually mount but i havnt the foggiest on how to do that. Is this something I do in TWRP or do I have to do it with ADB?
If I can get the SD mounted (even manually each time I boot) this is good enough for me for a daily driver. I really dont care about Bluetooth or the camera.

Fwiw I have been doing my best to keep my github repo in sync with my work tree if someone wanted to base a fresh build for this device.
Finaly I have time to play with CM and make small update for it.
What done:
1. Internal sdcard and microSD - available
2. Google play - working
Need to do:
1. Connect to PC
2. Root is absent
3. Camera and bluethooth DNW
How to fix original UnofficialportCM11T520.zip:
1. Download UnofficialportCM11T520.zip
2. Download file in attach (Update_for_UnofficialportCM11T520.zip)
3. Just replace files in UnofficialportCM11T520.zip from Update_for_UnofficialportCM11T520.zip
4. Wipe and install updated UnofficialportCM11T520.zip and gapps
P.s. During CM wizard you will get error message about miss SIM-card - it will be once, just press OK.

Should just need to identify the right gpio number and update the keylayout. The stock ROM can help with that.

Just tried both of them, this feels very promising.
Really fast/smooth.
No problems with supersu and play store.
Needed foldermount to fix a ext sd problem in casevof writing rights.
But thegame Battlefront Heroes ends up in 5010 and some other errors. And am a bit to addicted to it to wait on cm or the aosp build to be able to play it, so turned back to my backup.
But i am convinced that al will be working in the near future

Just update boot.img.
Please replace boot.img from attached update_boot.zip
It should fix problem with chrome (and may be in another apps). And also it will fix root - now it working correct (root checker, titanium backup, adb shell with su working correct).

Tutorial
Download the latest version of the rom down below,
if there's a fix for your device varient, download that as well. I will try and merge the fixes on new builds.
In order to install this rom, first of all, if this is your first time, read about it, do some research and understand the consequences. You need an unlocked bootloader, USB debugging enabled and a custom recovery. I recommend TWRP.
Copy the downloaded ROM file and copy it to your device.
Reboot to recovery mode, and use the recovery to get a full backup from your device's current system, data, kernel, etc and make a copy of said backup to your computer. Then, fully wipe Data, Cache, ART cache and system(DO NOT WIPE INTERNAL STORAGE). Then use a recovery file manager or connect the device to your computer and use mtp to delete the folder Android on your device.
Then install the rom, and if you've downloaded fix patches, install them afterwards and then reboot.
When you install the rom, the aroma installer pops up and gives you a set of options for desired Google Apps,
Samsung apps and services. For the Google Apps I recommend installing the wallpapers and Fit since the wallpapers are not on Play Store and Fit performs best as a system app. The rest can be found on Play store.
The services are Dual Sim support, SuperSU root and NFC support. However, you MUST include SuperSU in your choices for now due to a kernel issue. The dual sim support is obviously for the dual sim models and the NFC is optional since it causes battery performance issues on some devices. CHECK IT IF YOU WANT NFC TO BE INSTALLED. Finally the Samsung Apps.
The Samsung apps are Account, which includes the Samsung Galaxy Apps store and Samsung Account which is required for syncing. SAMSUNG Cloud is not included because I think it is a useless battery eating service, but if you need it let me know so I add it as an option for future builds. There are other Samsung services and apps like SNote, SHealth, One Handed Mode, BlueLight Filter, Private Mode, Gallery, Video Player, Voice recorder, MyFiles, Clipboard Service and SPen features. They all pretty much say what they are, the SPen features include air command, spen apps and Snote, and Clipboard Service is Samsung's handy Clipboard Service which I really like.

My device doesn't boot up after 10 minutes of flashing the rom!
If your device's LED light is no longer on and blue, then the issue is with the Settings app, try flashing with a full wipe, restoring your EFS and if it doesn't work out, contact me. If however the blue led is still on, then try and take a log and sending it to me, with your device information.
Which files should I delete prior to installing the ROM?
The only thing you should delete prior to flashing the ROM once in recovery mode is the Android folder in your internal storage.

BlueLight Filter is kernel related and it's again because you're running the rom on another device. If anyone tries this ROM on other devices or varients and finds fixes for the bugs not mentioned, please share them so I may include them in future builds.

No wonder you did alot and its you, who in some extent brought my interest to miui. And I'm really thankful to you for that. But i don't remember you telling me any fix for anything. Not to mention the time when i asked you for help and all u did was ignore. Reminding you again with all due respect i found the volte fix myself by comparing files. Neither you nor your team member told me any fix. Still I'm asking you with full respect what do you want from me?
U compared my rom and non volte rom and saw date modified files and applied it which obviously fixes volte and I can prove it if u want.
Moreover no one fixed mad Kernel issue
It was me to do it and obviously buwanesh told u that after I gave him the fix and there comes my another credits.
Incase I didn't port any miui there will never be stable volte for Coolpad ever cause there was no one other than macblaze or ruban in mtk who knew about volte fix.
U just have compared and taken files but me/Abhay has done months of research to do it.
We started with bootimg later modified settings apk and ims related apk and jar files which did not yield any results
Later we worked on libs and got it fixed in macblaze miui roms
later we continued and finally managed to grab all files to fix volte in rn4 miui.
This is the amount of work we did.
Directly or indirectly it's fully our hardwork on bringing volte to Coolpad.
Therefore u r supposed to atleast give credits .

Later we worked on libs and got it fixed in macblaze miui roms
later we continued and finally managed to grab all files to fix volte in rn4 miui.
This is the amount of work we did.
Directly or indirectly it's fully our hardwork on bringing volte to Coolpad.
Therefore u r supposed to atleast give credits .

This is pure common sense when u start porting u need to compare files. Bringing to your kind notice that i have always noted that none of your team members shared fix until I started finding it let it be by comparing. And its your statement to everyone that compare files and find yourself. So where is the point of whatever you are saying here? Moreover Where were you when i asked your help for fixing volte? Now you want me to give you credits ? all you did was ported from lenovo k4 note. I did directly from rn4 ,there z a difference. Stop acting immaturely. I hv mentioned your credits out of respect as you're craving for it. Last but not the least, plz don't be in g6 that you fixed VoLte, coolpad v22 had it. Being a porter and a developer is different.

The rom from which u got our fix was from rn4
Talking about immature
Now open ur fix
Libpower and libpowermanager has nothing to do with volte
We replace it to match our stock
U blindly copied it thinking its volte fix
And final ask urself honestly
If I never released a volte miui will u ever be able to fix it.

Ofcourse not it would have taken time to fix but i still can't understand what is your problem? You didn't told a single fix to me, neither did u helped me building a single rom. Moreover we never had a talk on anything, and out of all odds you're charging? ?

Finally for ur information miui isn't my first rom. Check my works , I've been into android development from the time you may not have known xda.

U r a senior dev but me I started in October and went on to find fixes and finally u had to copy paste my work
There is difference between copy pasting and finding a real fix on ur own
Front cam recording fix was given by me to pc
Mad kernel fix was given by me to buwan
I don't have to anything more to say.

For gaming i would recommend you to go for nougat roms.

All same. This one has better ram management though. Moreover you can use 3rd party apps for camera. Like B612 for selfie

But We cant call through Nougat ROMs.. (JIO PROBLEM).. JIO4GVoice also doesnt work in Nougat ROMs....:crying:
