Samsung Galaxy A7 blue video? hardware or software related? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

windfangcove[.]files.wordpress[.]com/2016/01/photogrid_1452247660239.jpg
The link above shows a comparison of a video taken in class. The other was taken from samsung a7 and the other from tab S. Both are taken at the same time with the default settings.
The target was a video shown on a Screen. The tab S reproduced the color quite well but A7 was disappointing washin out the video with blue color.
Any suggestion? Is this fixable or is this really a limitation of the device itself? My classmates do have lower specced phones and they were able to reproduce colors quite well.
I can't post links so just remove the brackets.

[Q] photo gallery issue - pixelated images on load

HI, i recently installed rom starburst and also overclocked the cpu.. but i noticed viewing the pictures on the photo gallery seems pixelated, i have to zoom in and zoom out for it to produce a clear image... somehow the system can't simply produce a clear image from the get go.. seems sad since it has a very powerful res built in on it..
is there a fix for this? does anyone else have the same problem?
I've got the same problem...
Images are low-res on opening. If you zoom in and out again, they become hi-res.
Moving the picture just a little to the side and back again also turns them hi-res.
People suggest downloading QuickPic, but this app has a different problem: moiré patterns (which don't occur in the original gallery app.)
Right now I can't decently watch hi-res pictures that are imported on my galaxy tab 10.1, and that's a real bummer...
I have a Galaxy S 2 phone that doesn't have this problem, so it may be a bug in the honeycomb gallery.

Hi,
We haven't been able to figure out how to zoom on our SGP5s either (got several of them)!
So, if anyone knows, please post?
Jim
I can't find it either. In the manual:
4. After taking a photo, touch Image Viewer to view the photo.
While viewing the photo, use these options:
• Pinch the screen or double-tap on the screen to zoom all the way in
or out. For more information, refer to “Pinch” on page 17.
But that's AFTER you take the picture, probably the zoom they were talking about. I gave up and bought Camera ZOOM FX when it was 10 cents the other day. MUCH better camera app!

That app is now $2.99 ... I checked out a couple of others, but none of the free ones I tried, including the one from "mnApps" would zoom .

Hi,
Can you confirm that Camera ZOOM FX can do zoom in preview/taking pictures?
I've been trying a number of other (free) apps, all which say they can support zoom, but none of them work so far.
Also, I found this:
http://www.popcrowd.com/
and the 1/2/2011 posting seems to indicate problems with zoom and the Samsung Nexus S (I'm assuming similar to with the SGP5 and zoom).
Jim
Just got off a chat with Samsung support, and they said that the YP-G70 doesn't support zoom while taking pictures.
I'd still be interested in tcat007's response re. Camera ZOOM FX, and whether or not it can do the zoom.
From what I've found, apparently the Samsung players may have a non-standard API or interface for zoom, rather than supporting the Google API. I'm wondering if the Camera ZOOM FX guys were able to get around that.

FYI, I just got Camera ZOOM FX, and it IS able to zoom with my SGP5 (US/Gingerbread/2.3.5). It auto-detected "Type 2", but wouldn't zoom, so I tried the other types, and "Type 4" works !
So, apparently the SGP5 hardware is similar to (has same problem) as the Nexus S:

I can confirm Zoom in CameraZoomFX does work. You have to set the Zoom setting on "Type4". It does "act" a little strange. The zoom slider does zoom on preview, but when you take the picture it "appears" to go back to 1:1 (a temporary 1:1 preview). But when you open the image, it is at the zoom ratio you clicked it at.
It also has an "activate shutter sound" check box, when unchecked there is NO sound!
Update: The zoom is pretty much worthless. I just took a shot 1:1, and a shot 6:1. The 1:1 is 2048x1536=3.1mp, 1mb file size. The 6:1 is 178x238=42kp 11.5k file size... not sure how/why it changes the aspect ratio. You're better off taking a 1:1 shot and cropping to what you want to get the zoom (pretty much what digital zoom is anyway).
Thanks to all who have answered up, replied with results from the Market and calls to Samsung support. I suspect that based on Zoom FX's is not actually changing the lens dimensioning but merely doing a zoom on the 1:1 image before it saves the file.
I am not an expert on the cameras, but know there are other Samsung cameras (like the one in my Samsung Epic 4G phone) that have firmware updates to change features like this. Guess we'll have to dig more...
Not meaning to hi-jack my own thread but just trying to register this thing on Samsung's website is a pain! This is a U.S. model ( I hope since I bought it in VA at a Best Buy!) but the Samsung registration wants a model number and model code?? Mine says its a YP-G70 in the Settings > About Device > Model number, but there is no 'model code' listed on it/in it that I can find.
Samsung's registration is asking me if its a Model Code YP-G70CW/PEO, /TTT, /WON, /XAA or /XAX.

Hi,
I just registered mine (US model). It's the /XAA (should be on the box also) one.

camera picture not clear

hello friends
i am having this strange problem with my samsung s2.when ever i click pic i got dull picture and when i zoom them its not as clear as my friends s2.i have default camera setting.pls help me solve this problem
First check if u use the same resolution!
Then think about installed mods and Rom.
After this also check camera and clear it.
If all is checked, send it to Samsung, maybe a hardware pro.
CHEERS
Sent from my Galaxy S2 - I9100 with Sensation Rom!
It'll be out of a few options: a scratched/dirty camera lense, your capture settings are set to a lower resolution/quality (max is "Super Fine" and 8MP), or a hardware defect.
Check if you both have the same setting, maybe download picturec to PC and compare there on bigger screen + compare EXIF info

Resolution problems

Hi,
I originally wrote my application with a android:minSdkVersion of 1. This apparently means the application reports a screen height of 480 and a screen width of 320. This wasn't a problem as it still looked good on my Galaxy S i9000 (see pic 1). Once I discovered noticed this and changed it to a latter API it reports a higher resolution (with different aspect ratio). I managed to translate coordinates and resize images to deal with any resolution but now it looks all pixilated (see pic 2). I am using Libgdx for my 2d graphics using Sprites.
imageshack.us/photo/my-images/853/compatibility.png/
(looks nice and blended and not pixilated)
imageshack.us/photo/my-images/580/reslow.png/
(looks pixileated)
Are there any problems with releasing a program targeting API 1 since it seems to work better?
It seems like when there is a low resolution the display driver handles the resizing and blends it to look nice but when libgdx does it it doesn't look as nice.
Any thoughts would be great.

Galaxy Tab S3 - Huge subtitle size

Hello!
I just bought a used galaxy tab s3 to replace my kindle fire HD10. Overall I am in love with the device and the screen but there is one annoyance i am not able to sort out properly.
Basically subtitle size in vlc and Netflix apps is huge. I reduced screen zoom and font size to minimum and even downloaded a new font from Samsung, but still is way too big. Eventually, I managed to sort of fix it by changing the size to small in vlc, but in Netflix I had to change size on the account and this is all for all devices.
I would like to know if you all are having the same issue and if you also notice subs are really big specially in Netflix. And if you have a better solution than reducing the size in the account settings from Netflix.
Thanks!!!!
If this is not possible on the samsumg rom, any recommendation for custom roms that has minimal amount of bugs?
