Clock on lock screen - Verizon LG V10

Im sorry if this already posted but I didn't see any on my device I can't find anywhere that will let me change the clock layout or color and I would really like a way to do that because my background color makes the clock hard to read

I don't think you can do it with the native launcher - I tried finding a setting the first day I had it. My guess is you'll need to use a different launcher. I've used Nova in the past...tons of customization available.

Haven't used Nova in a while but figured if any launcher had the capability, it would be Nova.

Dang well honestly I'd even settle for a lock screen clock widget

I'm with you - my background is fairly light so seeing the clock on the lock screen was hard, plus I wasn't a fan of the stacked style or the thin font (tired eyes like thicker fonts). Was bummed when I dug through all the settings and couldn't find anything that allowed for adjustment.

Same and I agree the stacked got is not that pretty to look at

[Q] WidgetLocker themes too small

I've tried quite a few WidgetLocker themes, but they all appear too small...I think it's because they're made for HDPI devices.
Is there any way I can resize them or something like that?
Long press on the sliders to resize them.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Try lowering the number of 'blocks' that appear on widgetlocker config. Try something like 4x4 or so.

Tried that, it just shows like it's changing the size of the grid that surrounds the slider, but the slider itself remains small, if you know what I mean..

That's where I got the sliders from, but they don't seem to work well. Can you please try out the MNML Gradient one? (First one) If it seems the right size on your phone, I'll know I've screwed up somewhere
I'm getting the same issue
Just that I'm running it on my Galaxy S running 4.0.3
I'm having the same issue. I'm on the HTC one X and i think the theme is just not made for such a high resolution device. The unlock circle is much too small. update sorely needed!

Third party launchers...

...what is the obsession with them? I have thought this for a long time now, but I simply don't get it. They usually cripple or disable certain UI features and I can't imagine one being used on this phone.
This phone's stock launcher is already super fast and it has tons of options, almost to third party levels. Why would anyone use one on this phone? Is it people who are set in their ways and stubborn? What gives? Am I alone?

Theming, icons, moar settings, gestures.. dunno whether im weird but I can't see the tons of options. I just see features but these are related to lg apps, not lg launcher ... all i want is..fully working knock on nova+cm ofc

I really like the Interface on smart launcher. I like how it organizes apps, makes 1 hand operation a little easier for me
But I'd rather have knock on to wake haha, so sticking with stock until we can get some custom wake options with a custom kernel or something
Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk 2
My biggest reason is to be able to set grid size. Now theming is another good one, but I guess just familiarities. I've been using them for years.

Not sure about smart launcher but with Nova you can knock to wake and knock to sleep if you do it on the statusbar

ditto.grid size provides more options and control over widget placement. i like simple, functional home screens: time, date, calendar and weather. also prefer to hide the status bar, the option to use multiple docks (vs. on-screen shortcuts) and the ability to hide the dock when not in use. i use gestures to display the the notification screen and dock when needed. simply stated: i can't accomplish this with the stock launcher.
I'm surprisingly content with the stock launcher. Usually there's something that annoys me enough to change but it hasn't happened yet.
Does anyone know if there's a way to replace the dialer? I think it's ugly and much prefer the one I used on CM (from my Nexus).
never found a good one
I hate all stock launchers put out by all the big compaines. LG, Samsung, Motorola, htc, sony, etc...they all suck. It never takes me more than about 5 minutes to put my third party launchers on. I own about all the major ones and even some lesser known ones but my three favorite are next, tsf, and adw ex. For me the desktop like gridless homescreen of next and tsf have kept me with them for a long time now. Being able to size widgets according to your screen and not according to some set grid is so nice.
There are so many reasons to use third party launchers over any stock one but most of those have been listed already. Like themes, gestures, animations, tons of settings to change, and more. but really, if you like the stock launcher, stick with it.
Thanks for all of the replies guys. I see all your points and was just curious. I'm quite happy with the stock launcher myself.

the stock launcher is amazing... except it redraws all the damn time, and it's even worse on Verizon. I love stock launcher but i simply can't use it without wanting to throw the phone. I use nova, and it hasn't redrawn on me once.

You probably know the answer. Being a forum member since 2008. Customising, optimising and tinkering with your phone is part of xda cultures or else you wouldn't be here.

To be honest, I've had a ton of phones since then and I never run a third party launcher more than a day. I just don't like them for whatever reason.
I've rooted every phone I've owned, flashed ton of roms, mods, etc. Yet I have always preferred stock launchers. Just how its been for some reason lol.

With nova you can knock anywhere not just the status bar. Knock to wake is working fine without customisation, knock to sleep you will need to download an app call screen off and set double tap shortcut to launch that app.

Most who use launcher brought the app at one time or another before G2. Like me they use launchers to customise, pick and choose features to operate their phone a certain way.
The beauty with using launchers is that no matter which phone you end up with, it doesn't matter. You can change brand upgrade android os and keep their screen the same.

I do like the stock launcher just wish I could load an icon pack ?

My main reason is gestures. With Nova I swipe up for app drawer, down for notifications. I've grown so used to this that I will give up whatever special features a stock launcher has.
Plus I delete my app drawer button so if someone is looking at my phone they can't be nosey and look through my apps that I have downloaded.

main reason I didn't use nova before... bc of that gray status bar and gray navbar lol you've gotta root and run the black bar mod, man. looks so much better. that gray is so outta place. now nova looks like stock android.

Looks. I just don't like the looks of LG's UI. Or anyone's aside from vanilla for that matter.. As others have stated, the ability to customize almost any aspect of the interface is a big contributor to my love of Android. With stock launchers, I lose some of that ability. Hiding the notification bar is pretty important to me as well. Not sure why but I don't like the look of a different colored bar cluttered with icons at the top of my meticulously arranged home screen lol. Same with nav keys. I use pie. As mentioned by others, I use the 'screen off' app combined with the double tap gesture to retain the knock knock feature.

See Thew Lock Screen

I'm using 4.2 and can't seem to enable wallpaper for home screen+ lockscreen together. Is this option available on 4.3? Also for those using 4.3, are the on-screen ringer/notification, expandable volume buttons included? I can't understand why they would remove these...
1. Set the homescreen wallpaper from the gallery
2. Set the lockscreen wallpaper from the personalization menu
??? I can't see the problem?

That would work with still images... If one runs a live wallpaper, you're forced to use a still image over the lock screen... There's little things that they have seemed to tweak, such as when using day dream / photo frame, the ability to choose individual photo folders, instead of every image in the device...
Oh, I have never seen a live lockscreen wallpaper. It's not a stock Android feature, but there might be something in the Play Store that allows you to do it.

Yea I'd use it all the time on my Samsung devices... & on CM roms. I can't find it anywhere I guess they removed the ability to do so... They're making it extremely difficult to remain un-rooted!

Problem with Nova Launcher spacing, question on how to fix

Hi, not sure if this is the correct place to post, the Themes and Apps forum seems to be more for promoting developer apps and the like.
So, I am having an issues with Nova Launcher; I made a picture - http://imgur.com/w7eFSac
What am I looking for is to be able to slide the entire app grid down to reduce the empty space on the bottom and increase it at the top. It is NOT an issue with my icon pack, it is the same with default icons. I have messed around with the settings a lot - there is an option to increase/decrease spacing above and below as a unit, but not separately. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I always use Nova as well and unless someone comes up with a specific mod for Nova I don't think its possible. I could be wrong but like you already know the only options for the margins affect all aspects of the margins ( top , bottom, left, right )
Maybe look into another launcher?

That's what I'm leaning toward. To be honest I am surprised this isn't more of an issue with people... the margin balance at the top and bottom is terrible. The icons are almost touching the status bar at the top and there's probably 4-5mm of space at the bottom.
Any recommendations on another launcher?

You know the only other one I found to be comparable to Nova was Apex. Plus you can still use all the same icons pretty much. There are quite a few launchers out now though so hopefully you find one ya like.

Funny coincidence, as Apex is the one I went and got before reading your reply... Seems pretty awesome so far. Thanks.
Can't you remove the homescreen page indicator in the dock settings? That might bring the app icons down a bit. I use TSF Shell, it's freeing to not be confined to a grid like all of the other launchers.

Along with some of the separately downloaded TSF widgets. It takes awhile getting used to, like you can tell they changed the way they handle certain launcher tasks just to differentiate themselves, but it has some cool concepts. Only downside is that $17 it costs lol
