Android hands free host, server MFP - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
Install the tablet in the car, I wanted to use it as an HFP.
Is there any application that supports Bluetooth talks, between your tablet and mobile phone.
I tried TabletTalk application but it only shows notifications about incoming call.
I searched everywhere to no avail solution.
Such a solution is in 2din car audio system based on android.
I do not know how it's made in china radio.
He may use a bluetooth dongle otg HFP?

Android as a2dp bluebooth receiver?

I know its possible to send audio from an Android phone via bluetooth to a PC using the a2dp profile. But I want to do it the other way. Connect the phone to my amplifier and send audio via bluetooth a2dp from my laptop.
I've searched but not found. Anyone know it it's possible?
I think the standard BlueZ stack can't do this. I think the Broadcom BTLA stack might be able to do this ... IF you have the Broadcom Bluetooth chip inside.
Hi Pananza,
did you have success to use an android device as a2dp receiver? I'm looking for a solution but I didn't find anything useful.
The only solution that I have found is to use the NDK to access the BlueZ stack, but I'm not sure if this is the right way.
Thanks
Paulo
Using phone as A2DP receiver
Hello
I would like to do this too, have a Sony MW600, and it works perfect with laptop or my HTC Desire, but it can not be charged and used at the same time..
Will it be possible to do this on an Android that is not rooted?
Did anything ever come of this? I'm looking for an app that would allow android to receive bluetooth a2dp or whatever the basic format is (mono ok), and output audio on the headphone jack of the phone. Bass ackwards to what all other apps i've found are doing. I've always been a "special needs" user

any update on this?
Wanting to use Android OS in the dash of my vehicle hooked to the audio system and use bluetooth a2dp to connect to mobile phones to play media through the system.
I'm looking for a similar setup. Has anyone found a way to turn android into an a2dp receiver?

You can transform your device into a wifi music receiver with the app called soundwire, you must install a server on your pc to stream audio from your pc to your android device. I didn't find anything with bluetooth.

Same here. More and more people are going to have "last years" android phone lying around doing nothing and this would be an awesome way to re-purpose it.
Whether it uses BT, Wifi, I don't care as long as I can stream audio from one android phone to another. What I don't want is to deal with DLNA or manufacturer built in BS. Just need google to turn on the A2DP sink profile and be done with it. The hardware is all there, just need the software to take advantage.
The next best thing is one of those BT reciever dongles/boxes. They run about $20 I think. So PSA to android developers - if you can enable this in a paid app I'm ready to buy it and I'll bet a lot of others are as well.

Did that tutorial works for you?
I've tried, but it doesn't work. My Panasonic TV doesn't see my phone, so I cannot play the TV audio thru my phone.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
I was also looking for an app like this.
For my old phones, my android sticks, ... no progress I assume ?
Waiting the same here! My idea is to buy a bluetooth transmitter, connect it to my TV and receive the audio on my phone.
I can't think that is not possible! :crying::crying:
Truck Tablet Install
Hey Everyone,
Been very curious about this as well as I'm going to do a nexus 7 install in my truck and want to be able to bluetooth additional music aside from what is on the tablet through the tablet to my speakers. Kind of a necessity due to the lack of a 3.5mm aux into the stereo. Hopefully we can figure this out!

?
I'm also looking to do this.
I'd like to be able to connect a Bluetooth transmitter to the output of a mixing desk, and then just use my phone to receive the audio (which I'd then want to save with something like tapeatalk).
This could provide a very quick method of recording gigs or DJ sets in stereo, and would be better quality than simply using the built in mic of your phone.
a2dp sink.
Bluetooth File transfer app can stream music from another phone. And this is where tha first phone works as a a2dp sink am I right? Can't we use that to built an app to follow it but using pc/laptop as the source?
Seems, that no one is interested. What a pitty, it could be really HOT stuff. For example, cheap android phone pluged instantly to a charger and to Car Audio via AUX, and You have got Bluetooth automatic pairing system for calling and music, navi etc.
Unfortunately I couldn't find solution for this, neither the app. It is strange. Some people says, that Android can not be a sink (reciever) in a2dp profile. So how does microphones from earphones are streaming audio to a phone, hmm?
Maybe someone will do it
I have a LG G3 and it does it flawlessly. It have a function called "Turn Audio Channel mode" on bluetooth settings.
I'm wondering how to do the same thing on any other andoird phones.

Android-to-Android Bluetooth Profiles

Hi everyone,
I am an owner of the GSIII I747M and the ASUS Transformer, both running ICS. I recently had this idea (fantasy?) where I mount the Transformer in my car, hook it up to the car speakers and basically use it as my in-car infotainment system instead of the headunit that's in there. Nothing wrong with my in-car headunit (except the fact that I can't get bluetooth to work with my GSIII), but the tablet will give me tons more features. When I enter the car, I want the tablet to automatically tether to my phone via wi-fi and via bluetooth. Wi-fi is for internet access and it works just fine. The bluetooth is for the hands-free profile, so that when I receive a call, the music/navigation/whatever gets interrupted and I can take the call. I also want to be able to dial from the tablet.
When I connect the two devices via bluetooth, I don't have a hands-free profile; indeed I have no useful profiles at all. My question is simple: is there an app for that? Any suggestions? Has anyone done this? Thanks!

Android Car Deck (Flyaudio G7) locked bluetooth

Hi guys, so I have a Chinese made android deck running 4.1.2 with I guess is a custom rom from their factory. It works pretty well but they have locked the bluetooth function to only allow incoming inconnections (meaning only my phone can connect to the device). I have an OBD bluetooth transmitter that I would like to connect to the device but the "bluetooth" options menu in settings is hidden. I don't see any reason why my bluetooth OBD can't connect with the deck seeing it connects to my phone fine. Are there any workaround/apps/xposed modules that will allow me to accomplish this?
Let me know if the explanation is not clear. Thanks in advance!
I'm looking for the answer to this also... I tried looking for a bluetooth connection app with no luck. My tocado android double din is running kit kat 4.2.2 and I assume they only allow bluetooth connections for audio and only want you to buy their obd 2 device. I can go into the device settings in the torque app and see my phone and other bluetooth devices but somehow my obd device isn't reckognized... it seems they are blacklisted somehow. Has anyone tried a wifi or usb bluetooth obd2 device? Maybe that will work?

Tablet car integration. Is this possible?

Hi fellow android friends,
I have an older car with a big radio slot. I thought about integrating an android tablet there and connect it to the car stereo, but I have some questions if some features would be possible.
Basically I want to pair my phone to the tablet via bluetooth to mainly stream music to it. But I also want navigation (Google Maps) which I could simply use by creating a hotspot from my phone automatically when it's connected via bluetooth to the tablet. Also I want Call integration. So that I can start, answer and end calls I get on my phone from my tablet. I would set up a microphone in the car for better quality.
Is this possible? If so, how? With specific apps? Or flashing Android Auto somehow to the tablet?

Bluetooth 'Phone' capabilities for tablet

Hi, I have a Lenovo Tab 4 10 plus (Android 7.1.1), and I would like to use it with a Bluetooth speaker or in my car connected via Bluetooth for non-cellular phone calls. The problem is, that when I place a 'phone call' through a third party phone app, it doesn't route audio through my Bluetooth device. upon further investigation, I found that looking in the settings of the Bluetooth device through the tablet, I can see Media Audio, but no option for phone audio. I am using Google voice as well as an app that connects to my company's phone system for calls, so there isn't a standard phone cellular connection. Is there anything I can do to enable this to work? Thanks for any suggestions!
