LG V10 H961N Dual SIM : Why switching in call and SMS app is so annoying ? - LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I'm really happy with my V10 but the way how we switch with both sims when we text is horrible.
With my last OnePlus 2, when I receive a sms on my sim n°1, it automatically choose the first sim.
Excactly the same with sim 2. When I receive a sms on it, it automaticaly choose sim 2 when I reply. Logic and simple !!!
With the Note 5, you have two icons "Sim 1" and "Sim 2"... You choose between them every time you send a sms.
With the Honor 7, the same way !
As you know, with the V10 it's another story. Why LG makes it so disturbing ?
Everytime we have to switch and it's not conviniant !
What do you think ?
Thanks

Use GoPro SMS
I'm using GoPro SMS as my default messaging app on my V10. There are two buttons 1 and 2 to indicate which SIM to use for sending or replying. I think OnePlus's way is wrong, there are a number of reasons why you'd want to reply from a different SIM than the one you received the original message from (e.g. receiving SIM has zero credits, one SIM is for receiving roaming SMS from your home country and the other is a local SIM with better rates for sending SMS back)

[Q] Blocking Connection Mini Pro

Hello everyone,
A friend of mine wants to temporary block all communications on his phone (from receiving incoming calls and messages) except from one number.
Is it possible? Does he need any application?
Thankfully,
Pedro
From my understanding (non expert) the SIMs phone number is stored at your carrier's server (and yes you can change your SIMs phone number). When someone calls your number it first connects to your carrier and then your carrier connects the caller to your SIM (phone). With this view, it is your carrier that can decide whose call you can or can not receive, but I don't really know.

Well, in my Arc S, when I'm storing a contact I have a option which says: "Send this contact directly to voicemail" - And it could be a possibility. Is this present on Xperia Mini Pro?
Yes mini pro also has an option to send call directly to voicemail (contact option). Sending caller to voicemail could work.

Is there an app to do it on all contacts? Doing it manually is quite hard. I've tested Mr. Number, however, even blocking calls on my Arc S, the phone rings for like a second or a bit less than that.
I've just found this. It could be what you need.

Dialer for dual sim phones

Now that android dual sim phones are coming, can one of the greater modders make a dual sim dialer for us. That is a dialer that will prompt you to select sim 1 or 2 before dialing. Thanks in advance.
Won't these phones come with a dialer thats does that ?
DW contacts & dialer works just fine. Though, I would have wanted the Sim 1/2 icons integrated into the UI instead of having a popup screen for calls.
Go Sms works fine for dual sims.
Request help for Google Voice to work in dual SIM Android
I am working on a dual SIM android PCBA.
The Android dialer is made to operate the dual SIM and SIM standby mode.
However, in this Android OS the dual SIM function block the other WiFi telephone dialing functions, such as Google Voice and Skype.
Is there any advice on where to stand to unblock this to allow outgoing WiFi phone dialing to calls?
Thank you.
That already exists on every mediatek based dualsim phone...

True. I have one since a week.
But the annoying thing is that SIM Contact Binding doesn't work properly.
When I have binded a contact to a SIM and I choose to call this person, it will still ask me to choose which SIM to use.
Then what is the contact binding for in the first place???

[Q] Call history lost when changing sim :S

Hi there, I have a SIM card that supports two phone numbers. All I have to do is go to the Sim Toolkit, select the 2in1 menu and it swaps from mobile #1 and mobile #2. Basically, it forwards call from one number to the other.
My problem is that everything related to calls (timers, counters, history, etc.) is lost when I swap between the 2 lines. Also when I go to see my contacts, every time it says that a new SIM has been detected and if I want to copy the contacts from the SIM to the phone.
Is there a fix about this? The phone is the Alcatel 995.
Thank you in advance.
This phone is Dual SIM or works with one only? Maybe it's SIM problem because is 2 different numbers. Android thinks there is a new SIM on the phone, so this cannot be fixed.
Sent from my DEV main phone, Motorola XT316
No, the phone is not Dual Sim. Its just one sim and with the SIM Toolkit you can change between the two phone numbers. Is there at least some application that keeps its own call history and doesnt read it from the stock android app?
Thanks.

I like to use a personal and work sim, some calls need to be made from SIM 1 and others from SIM 2 so I selected option phone to make sure each call is dialled form the correct SIM. However, it would be amazing if you could assign default SIM preferences against specific contacts. Is this possible?

[SOLVED] Need a Phone App Where You Can Set Default SIM for Dual SIM (Samsung phone on Android 13)

Need a Phone App Where You Can Set Default SIM for Dual SIM (Samsung phone on Android 13)
When you Google for instructions on how to change default SIM for Calls or SMS, there appears that many Android Phones allow you set the default SIM separately for Calls and for SMS. Unfortunately it appears on at least US models of Samsung phones (at least my S23 Ultra running Android 13) you can just specify a default SIM for everything: calls/SMS/data. I want to use one SIM for data and one SIM for calls and SMS without having to remember to change the SIM in the phone or messaging app right before I make a call or send an SMS.
I've gotten around the SMS issue because my messaging app, Chomp SMS, has a DUAL SIM setting that will override the Android setting and default to whichever SIM you want to use when using Chomp SMS. (Of course this doesn't work for MMS as MMS uses data and it can't override the Android default SIM setting for data also so you can only send MMS using the SIM Android is set to us as default.)
So what I really need is a replacement phone app that has the same Dual SIM setting as Chomp SMS where I can specify when using the phone app what SIM to default to make calls with despite what the Androis O/S default SIM setting is set to so I don't have to remember to manually select the SIM in the phone app each time I make a call.

Found a solution for anyone running into this issue. You can download the app Multi SIM Selector and set the default SIM to be used and disable the manual pop-up. It also can allow you to select the SIM to use per call and then rembers to use that SIM when calling that number.
