Galaxy s2 won't turn on after wipe /data - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello everyone!
As title says ,my samsung galaxy II (CM12.1 flashed) doesn't give any signs of life.
Here is the story:
I turned off my phone this morning and plugged in charger. After hour i plugged off charger from my phone and tried to turn it on.As it was turning on it got stuck on samsung logo.Afterwards i went into recovery mode and wiped /cache.Everything was fine. Then i went to "factory reset" where problem occured...while it was deleting /data it got stuck.Few minutes later my phone suddenly turned off. After that moment it just won't turn on.I tried to get into recovery and download mode but phone doesn't react. When i plug in charger it doesn't react neither. Battery was at 50% when i tried to turn it on.
Before this, phone was running fine. But recently it was freezing a lot so i had to take off batery and put it back in.
Im not native english speaker so don't get mad on my "perfect" english
I hope someone will help me diagnose the problem
Thank you

Goodmorning.
....the same here..... sadly.

This is what I know regarding that unable to turn phone back on problem, perhaps can solve yours.
We know the S2 i9100 (and maybe the other variants too) has "problem" with battery levels. In my case, it won't surprise when I got (for example) 48% then drops drastically to 3% after reboot. The problem sometimes also occur when I reboot to system from recovery.
Regarding to your problem, try to recharge your S2 until 100% (in this case, phone is off completely), unplug the charger, then turn it on by holding the power button.
If the phone still won't turned on, try this tips as it always working for me. Plug the charger and try to turn the phone on (holding the power button). If the phone just go back to battery indicator screen (sometimes the screen will blinking once), here the problem.
From here, you need to see what kind of battery indicator image shown on the screen. If the image is a battery indicator with round progress inside it (and doesn't change no matter how long you expect to it), you need to press and hold the power button to restart. Repeat this until you got the image with battery indicator with ACTUAL battery level and bar shown. When you see this, unplug your charger, wait until the screen is completely off, then holding the power button to turn on the phone. In my case, this is always work.
If for some reason you never get the correct battery indicator screen after many tries, try to remove the battery off, wait for at least 15 seconds, put it back on, then try the procedure again.
Hope that help.

Xperia Go doesn't turn on. Is it dead?

I just bought a new Xperia Go. Yesterday I was using it until the battery drained completely. Then I charged for the first time and stupidly I tried to turn it on. The first time I charged it showed the battery icon, but then when I disconnect it, it won't turn on. I plugged it on again but this time it didn't show the battery icon. The red led is turned on, but I can't get it to turn on. I tried vol up and power button at the same time but nothing. The worse thing is I can't remove and reinsert the battery because I don't know how and I don't have the required tools.
Please help! ;(
May the battery is completely drained!! Just plug-in the charger n after sometime it'll show the battery symbol

Ur phone is probably in the 1st situation of the following( xda calls this battery cycle i think )
1. Dead phone(no response at all)
2. Phone cannot boot but when trying to boot it shows a red led(which means the phone has a tiny amount of battery left)
3.Phone is charging and can boot
4. Phone is charged properly(100%)
So, in order to get to situation 4 u just need to charge ur phone for a while
Hi was your problem solved? I have the exact same problem right now... My Galaxy S7 was stolen about a month ago so i am using this rusty old thing and will only be getting the S8 by next week...

[Q] S3 charging but not drawing battery power

I have this problem: youtube.com/watch?v=chvRbwgT9n8
Sprint Galaxy S3, unrooted, stock
Basically one night my phone would not turn on after the battery completely drained out. Put on charger but phone would not turn on. Did the spin test on original battery and it seemed busted. Ordered a new battery, put it into phone, charged for a few hours and have the same problem the above youtuber does. The battery icon looks identical (both the grey and ~90% one).
1) If phone is unplugged nothing happens, can't start into recovery/download/boot.
2) If phone is plugged in it will show grey battery icon for like 10s, then go to a green battery screen where it shows the battery is ~90% full. The red charging light stays on.
3) I can boot into recovery mode if the phone is plugged in but if I try to normal boot the phone it will 50% get to the S3 splash screen, vibrate, and then turn off, and then 50% of the time it will boot to the home screen but wifi and data will not work (the battery icon will show 100% at this point). After a few seconds the phone will vibrate, turn off, and return to the grey battery icon swirly and then back to the 90% green battery screen.
4) I've tried wiping cache and doing factory reset but doesn't seem to phase it.
5) Reflashing via Odin to stock doesn't fix issue.
Any ideas? It doesn't seem like the power button issue because usually in those cases the battery shows as low or it will be stuck in a constant repeating cycle. This just seems like the phone is not drawing any power from the battery. Thanks.

You posted this in the wrong forum, but anyway, try downloading an app that tells you the charging current going into your phone so you can see whether any power is actually going into the battery. Have you tried plugging it into different power ports around your house / using usb + computer to charge?

No, will try that.
Update: so it appears that the longer I leave it on the charger the longer I can use it while connected. The issue now is that Wifi and data will not enable, sound doesn't work, bluetooth doesn't work. I found someone else with _exactly_ the same issue who had a weird fix:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...amsung-galaxy-s3-wont-turn-5.html#post3322596
OK, Czech this out, I took my sim card and SD card out of the phone and tried to start it, and guess what? IT FREAKING CAME ON!!! It obviously wont function without the SIM card, and it prompted me to turn off the phone and reinstall the SIM, but after doing that, it started right back up like it was new.SO EVERYONE GIVE THAT A SHOT. We'll see if it gives me any issues.

The problem for me is that the Sprint version doesn't have a SIM card and I'm not using a SD card. Is there any reason for this madness?

It sounds like you might need to flash a new modem. I'm not 100% sure though since I don't own the phone, you should post it on the Sprint S3 forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-sprint/help

Phone usually doesn't turn on

Hey guys!
So i have this unusual problem with my phone. The phone won't turn on, but when i plug it in the charger it shows the battery icon with the little "loading" circle in it. It does that constantly when plugged in, icon is on the screen for a few seconds then the screen is all black, it goes like that untill I unplug it.
I thought that the phone was broken, but today while it was plugged in i saw the real charging animation and it said that the phone had 50% of battery so I quickley pressd the power button and it turned on normally. After that i turned the phone off and back on again, everything worked perfectly. So i tried turning it off again and pulling the battery out. Now it wont start again.
The firs time it happend I was using the phone and it freezed, so i pulled the battery out and then it happend.
The phone is running latest version of cm11 donwloaded from cm website.
I hope that somebody knows the answer to my problem.
Thanks in advance!

I'm might know what happening with your phone, and i don't know the final solution either, but you can use your phine with a little bit of effort, just plug your phone to charge and open download mode (press power key, home key , vol down key simultaneously)
And let be in that position for 5-10 min and then press cancel. Then it will show your device name for real long...... wright there for 5-10 min again and it will be working again, don't let it go off again or do same procedure if it goes off, you may have problem with your sensor's, wanna stable solution? Go to your service provider

Unusual battery drop. Will not charge or change battery from 20%. Phone unresponsive.

Long story short. Another Z compact down. This time it's my Z5C.
Unrooted Z5C E5823. I flashed some marshmallow from xperifirm (build 32.2.A.5.11) some 8 months ago...
Description of events:
Just finished texting. Turned screen off. I go to turn it on again but the phone turned off, because pressing the power button doesn't do jack. Long press it and doesn't turn on.
... great.
Volume down + power button and it turns on after 3 vibrates. Battery level plummeted from ~70% to 20%. So I just put it on a wall charger and wait.
Some 20 minutes later, I'm surprised to see that the phone is still at 20%. So at this point I'm sure something is very wrong and I start browsing for solutions. Nothing worked.
The only thing I didn't do is a factory reset. But I seriously doubt it's a software problem.
So I say "screw it" and I unplug it from the charger and start using it normally. At some point the phone turns off on itself so I have to do the volume down + power button combo again. But this time, alas, it doesn't work either. So I try the little yellow "off" button on the SD bay + holding power button. This time the phone vibrates 3 times. Then I turn he phone on again. But this time it turns off after some 40 seconds. Then it began a short power on/off cycle and then remained off. Won't turn on. Like if it was hard bricked. I fiddled with the yellow off button while plugged in on the charger and it turned on again but still won't go past or below 20%. Ever.
I remove it from the charger and go home from work. Phone is unresponsive. PC doesn't recognize it. No key combination works. Charger and key combinations don't do jack. But THEN out of the blue, I sense 3 very faint vibrations (i just kept trying to power it on, I wasn't giving up ) and now the phone is on again. Battery at 20%, obviously. Service menu doesn't have a battery test anymore. How convenient... Battery usage menu is always the same when I turn it on. PAst history is gone, app % use are all the same ratios.
I'm trying to backup my data now. But at the meantime. Phone is on and still stuck at 20%.
So, is the battery dead? Wth is going on?
i have smailer problem
my phone wont pass the 90% . also after factory rest (stock rom\kernel\no root\lockedBT)
still, im not sure 100% is my batt i think is started from android 6 (now im at 7)
also my phone wont pass some voltage also (4.300) was 4.350 when the phone was new with 5.1.1
but in QC2 quick charger its 4.308volt max with 92% so i dont know whats goin on:|
hi,
I had same problem somes weeks ago.
try flash new rom, phone stuck at 20% but seems to have same battery's autonomy .
after a week I changed the battery, now all works fine
I think this is the lithium controller that is dead not the battery itself .
Battery and turn off problem
My Device have charge (50,60,70 or more), unnexpected it show 0% and turn off.
Hardware problem maybe ???

S6 - Bricked - Black screen and Solid White LED

Hello, friends
Out of the blue, my S6 Edge tried to restart, but got stuck in a loop at the Samsung Logo. One or two times it went to "insert pin" and then restarted again. I tried to Force Restart and it didn't solve the problem.
After a few tries, I managed to wipe the cache partition. Now it's simply bricked with a black screen and a Solid White LED. I can't restart it, enter download mode or safe mode or anything. Odin doesn't recognize it at all. Is there anything I could try?
The phone is not rooted.

Thank you! Tried it. Doesn't work. It's beyond my understading why would it behave this way after I managed to clear the cache. At least before that it went into download mode or safe mode. I still suspect a software issue.

So vol down + home + power will not get you to download mode?
How about recovery? Vol up + home + power?
This happened to me before and the way i got out of it was hold only vol down + power as soon as the screen went off completely (no led lit) switch to download mode combo.
Tried both of the commands. They didn't work. I will let it drain the battery completely and then see what happens.

reminds me of the bad emmc memory like the note 4s had.
some times completly letting the battery drain can fix it being "stuck". then recharge for 20 min or so then trying to turn on.
if u plug it into pc does it reconize anything in device manager
even unknown device or descriptor failed anythiing at all?
This morning the LED was off, so I tried to recharge it. Nothing happens. Also, the PC doesn't detect it at all. I think it's safe to assume I need a new phone. Too bad...at least if I was able to recover the data on this.

same problem here started over a week ago - samsung S6: black screen, constant white led. tried all variations of resetting with buttons. over a year ago i replaced the battery, and its been fine since. when this no boot issued happened i also tried changing the battery to a known good one. on inserting a battery and then pressing the power button the indicator led will go to green for less than a second before changing to constant white, and it stays that way no matter what until the battery is drained or the battery is removed. Strange thing is there is no information from samsung on what this behaviour means, but I've come across dozens of other S6 owners on the web with the same problem, so this is obviously diagnostic behaviour designed by samsung - but no info from samsung. the phone has never been damaged or watered or rooted so I'm at a loss.
Confirmed diagnostics:
The phone will respond to the power button and attempt to turn on
The phone will charge a battery, so the charging circuits and battery circuits are working.
The phone does not get picked up by a Windows 10 PC with Kies installed in any state - other samsung phones get picked up no problem.
Same here
I have the same symptoms. When I hild the vol up+home+pwr I get a green let for 1/2 sec then white. No other combinations do a thing. I swapped the battery for a new one. No luck.
Mine started a few days ago. The phone was 50% charge and i plugged it in for two hours. Came back and it had a solid red led. After a few hours the red light went off. It was then 100% unresponsive. I then took it apart and disconnected the battery. When I reconnected it, it started to do the white let thing described above

I have one that behaves exactly the same I changed the battery and didn't make any difference. my next step is to replace power management chip. I'll let you know.
Any luck on this?
Mine has been like this for a couple months, kind of gave up on it, but decided to give it a go again!
Same problem here, just happend after switching the battery. Anyone have solved this?
I found a kinda solution, plug your charger in and charge past 30% then unplug charger. then use just vol down and power button for 7-10 seconds, after 7-10 seconds just release the power button while still holding vol down button until you see samsung logo, you can tell if you did it wrong by the solid led being back on, repeat until success, once you have it on do NOT press the power button or it will RESET back to solid led/black screen.
I have the same problem with my s6 active and similar story to dbeeheim. Has anyone fixed this? And can anyone confirm that enzo13's solution works?
Much thanks in advance!!
i have same problem!
Suddenly my S6 dead, battery was ~80%, no charge
yesterday i try to change battery, after that if push power button, LED small light comes but in white with purple, then stuck. (it's small Notifications LED)
and i chnge the screen, but no more than white/prople LED.
(no any thing on screen, always black..)
what is the problem?
i think it's battery because it last month didn't work good, and it's old 3years battery.. but no idea..
Hello guys my Samsung S6 sm-g920f has the solid white led and black screen. Really no fixes?
thank you
Same issue
I have the exact same issue. My Galaxy S6 Edge (G925F) suddenly died and won't get past the 'Galaxy S6 Edge Powered by Android' screen.
I am unable to reach the recovery options. I've tried flashing two different stock ROMs with Odin which succeed but without successfully turning on my phone. I've also tried flashing TWRP with success in Odin but it won't get past the 'Powered by Android' screen before turning off after +-4 seconds. The white LED is on even when the screen is black.
Just had this same issue, my battery died and I forgot to charge my phone overnight, woke up and it would not turn on, black screen. I did manage to replace the battery and do several diagnostic tests on it. My battery was receiving about half the power output it should be (this is normal it's a 4.5yo phone) and when I replaced the battery with a new one, it did not turn on. With wireless charging I can tell I am receiving a charge and with standard I can not. The screen does not indicate it is charging with either method but my wireless charging pad lights up indicating my phone is being charged. I think it may be the processor or screen itself. This really sucks because I lost all my data on my phone and data recovery can be over $500
