Moto E CM13 - Doesn't auto update - Moto E Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I flashed to CM13 using TWRP recovery.
I was unable to install the newer updates.
I flashed the recovery to cyanogen. Now every time I download new updates, I have to select the update file manually in recovery mode. Also I am afraid that if I format SD card as internal storage, I wouldn't be able to browse the update file in recovery.
Please suggest what can I do?

[Q] unable to apply update from sd card??

So I have a samsung galaxy young s6312, stock android 4.1.2 jellybean, rooted, stock recovery. Now I have been wanting to install cwm recovery on my device since a long long time, and rom manager isn't compatible with my device. I finally found a cwm.zip file for my device somewhere. The site told me to flash it via stock recovery, by the apply update from sdcard option. So I went into recovery, and when I click on apply update from sdcard option, I see only ../ I don't see a list of files on my external sd card. I tried formatting my sdcard, tried reinserting it, nothing worked. Plz guide me how I can flash the file I want to. Thanks....

Install MobileUncle tools, then go to recovery update choose your cwm file and flash
I use a totally different phone, anyhow, see if there is a "Mount sdcard" option somewhere in your recovery before you go to apply update.
BTW, ".." stands for up directory (just in case). And "." is the current directory.
Extremely sorry for my absence.....
No, no mount sdcard option anywhere in recovery

[Q] help installing Custom ROM

Hi
Please can anyone help. I have rooted my LG d802 correctly and confirmed this by Root Checker. I am trying to install a custom ROM which I have saved the zip file to the phones internal SD card.
When using ROM manager it says I have installed custom recovery Clockwork mod 6.0.4.4 but when I reboot into recovery mode only get the options to reboot system, install from external, adb etc. Or to wipe cache. I don't get option to instal from zip or any way to instal the new ROM. Rebooting just gets the phone back to its original state? Please any help on what I need to do to be able to see the instal from zip option.? Many thanks anyone!?
I don't use CWM, but I believe you should select install from external. It may be referring to your external SD, even if the SD isn't removable. If you still have issues installing your ROM, try TWRP recovery. You can install TWRP installer from the play store.

[Z7 Mini] Can't install any ZIP files in recovery mode

Hello,
I'm having a Z7 Mini, with the newest Mokee 6.0.1 and TWRP 2.8.1.0 (also tried CWM with the same result).
I successfully installed the Mokee ROM and everything works fine, I have root access and also installed my backed up apps via Titanium Backup.
Unfortuenatly I can't install the GAPPS via the normal way, the recovery mode. I can do everything in my recovery, but when I enter "choose zip from sdcard" I see my internal SD (I have combined my internal with external SD, it's a new feature in Android 6) and no zip files, except from two ROM-zip-files (Mokee ROMs).
I can't see the GAPP-zip-files which I have downloaded. I can access to that file on the normal data manager on my phone, as on my pc via usb cable.
Do you have any idea, why I can't see them? I really need GApps on my phone.
Thanks a lot,
Martin

Oneplus x problem???

Hello,
I recently got a Oneplus X. Today, I got a 17mb OTA update after downloading the update I started installing the update even though it said phone is rooted and update might not install. I still tried installing it and the update failed. Now I am stuck on the screen with these options -
internal storage,
install from adb,
wipe data and cache,
advanced,
exit
How do I start my phone. Sorry I am completely new to android so I don't know what to do so please help me.
Basically now you are in recovery mode. Download from here the official rom for your phone. Put it on a sdcard or , if the computer recognize your phone, put the downloaded file on the internal memory. Then, select from the recovery "install from internal storage" and select the downloaded file. It should restore your phone to factory mode.

Cant access internal storage in recovery

Hello guys,
i wanted to use a custom rom, so i unlocked the bootloader and installed a custom rom (i could access the internal memory from windows while in recovery). Now i wanted to use another rom, so i boot in orange fox, do format data, wipe and reboot to recovery. But now, i cant access the internal storage anymore. Windows explorer shows me the device, but i cant acess it. I have the global version Redmi Note 9 pro. I tried pitch black recovery as well as Mauronofrio's TWRP. I also tried to flash the Stock Rom from https://xiaomifirmwareupdater.com with the official mi flash tool and followed this instruction (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/unable-to-decrypt-fbe-device.4206579/page-3#post-84370443). But then again, i could not access the internal storage from windows and the moved files from step 4 where not there anymore.
When i boot to the original stock rom, run all the setup and stuff and then boot again to recovery, i am able to access the internal storage. but then again, after format data i cant access it anymore and cant copy any custom rom on the phone. What to do?
Use adb sideload to install the ROM directly from your PC.
Not all recoveries support it though.
LineageOS recovery does so that's the reason why I use it.

Just few alternate method without adb/PC:
1. Use an sdcard to store roms, recovery backups...
2. Few days ago forget to copy the rom to sdcard (and already formatted the data), used an otg cable and installed the rom from usb-stick without any problem.
3. Flash the rom from internal storage, format data and boot to system.
Always use latest recovery (now ofox 11.0.1).
