[ROM][6.0.1][SM-T325] Unofficial CyanogenMod 13 for the Tab Pro 8.4 LTE - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Android Development

Now with working radio, thanks to kyasu. You should thank him, not me.
I am not responisble if you brick you device, if you lose all of your data or if you mess up in any other way.
Please also note that this ROM may contain bugs that I do not know about. If you find a bug, please let me know.
This ROM is made for the Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 4G, and will not work on any other device.
This is CyanogenMod 13, based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. This rom uses crpalmers device trees and kernel and would not have been possible without his work.
Bugs:
Auto-rotate is kind of buggy
Proximity sensor not working
Probably more.
Installation:
Do a NANDROID backup and back up all of your important files.
Wipe System, Cache and Dalvik Cache
Flash the ROM
Flash Gapps (optional)
Wipe Cache and Dalvik
Boot

Kernel:

Also please note that I am not an experienced developer. I am just a guy who wanted Marshmallow on the tablet, and happened to have the required skills to build a ROM. I will try to fix the SIM card, but I don't think I can do it.
If you find a bug please tell me about it. I will probably not be able to fix it, but I will let everyone else know about it.
Also, please don't ask for features. I have no idea how to implement new features.

Well to be fair Mr. Palmer had mentioned to me on the T320 thread that the Radios were broken on CM13. As I understand it I think he owns the T525 (10.1 LTE), and such work that has been done trickeled down from that.
Sadly I don't seem to have the mad chops to even get as far as that, though lord I'm trying. But, from the looks of things it seems like that bit of Code will need to be rewritten again.

Does SD card works as Internal Storage in this ROM? I'm currently using CM13 SM-T320 on my SM-T325 as I don't need LTE and radio. On crpalmer's latest nightly build 20/01/2016 for SM-T320 it works.

Yeah, it looks like it works.
Also, can you install SM-T320 ROMs on SM-T325? I had no idea that was possible.

Yep, they are basically same device except the SM-T325 has additional radio, 4G and earpiece. When you download ROM for SM-T320 (it might not work for all ROMs) just open zip file in winrar, navigate to /META-INF/com/google/android/ and open file updater-script with your preferred text editor. Right on the first line you command starting like this "assert (getprop("ro.product.device") == "mondrianwifi" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "mondrianwifi" || ..." (this is checking the name of device so you don't flash bad files on your device and potentially brick it)
Here you want to add your device so you can flash it - add this "getprop("ro.product.device") == "mondrianlte" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "mondrianlte". Don't forget to correctly add "||" and keep correct spaces between commands. Close text editor, resave the zip file and you can flash it on your device.

Well, damn. I wish I had known that before.

Yeah I personally can't see much use in that. Had I actually wanted the T320 (Wi-Fi ONLY) Model I could have saved me a lot of Coins on the T325 (LTE). That I'm very pro Phablet. This will never be an acceptable answer for me. But for the moment I can be happy on Lollipop (i.e. CM 12.1).

Praying hard that this ROM will be stable in future releases! Can't wait to flash it on my Tab Pro 8.0 SM-T325!

Stability isn't the issue here. I think we can say with some confidence that this ROM isn't any less stable then CM 12.1. The problem hits the fan (in as far as that), when you actually want to use your T325 as a T325. (e.g. as a phone!). Apparently the Radio Stack from CM 12.1 is now broken under CM 13.0. As such what we have to accept is that there really is next to zero support for either the T325 (8.4), or the T525 (10.1) both LTE PROs.
Really we owe Mr. Palmer a huge debt in just giving us CM 12.1. But until someone, anyone can do a rewrite on the Radio Stack there won't be a CM 13 for us. And, as I pointed out outside of Mr. Palmer we don't have as many Devs as the T320 (Wi-Fi) has

I wouldn't get my hopes up. SIM support probably won't be fixed for a while, if at all. Also there won't be nightlies or anything, and I will likely prioritize some other ROM in the future, probably MinimalOS, as I don't really like Cyanogenmod.

New Update
New update is here. Still no SIM-support, but you can now access Mobile network settings, which hopefully is a step in the right direction (but don't get your hopes up). You can now also access Security settings, which caused the settings app to crash in the previous one.

Just outta interest would it be possible to compare a working Marshmallow Qualcomm Stack to the one on the Tab PRO? If, not outright stealing it for the Tab PRO? Or is it really not just as simple as that?

I'm not actually good at ROM... stuff, so I am pretty much as clueless as everyone else, but I did use some code from the Tab S in the latest update, so I am going to keep trying that and see if it leads to anything good.

I know it's probably already been done/thought of @crpalmer but is there that much of a difference between the T325 and the Galaxy Tab S version (the T705) that, sections of CM13 could not be used with our T325?

I guess until someone tries well never know. Sadly it seems that this was - is a Device that has completely fallen though all the cracks. That most of the Devs here seem to be more focused on the cheaper T320 should be a very sad clue as to the future of both the T325 & T525.
I'm not even sure if its even possible to even rewrite these Drivers, as I understand it the Radio Stack(s), are pretty much the holly of Hollies in proprietary closed source regarding corporate secrets, and the need to prevent such exposure to the GSM code to such exploits to get free LTE or calls.

I don't think so..omnirom of course is always android and the appearence is similar in every versions..but I think that is a different concept on a programmative side. Finally a real android open-source? read from the link in the first post to know better how does this project consists in (if you really downloaded en evervolv rom, try the link right above my post, it works)

Domenico you are fantastic. Please never leave our evo 3D!!!! Thank's to you we can have the latest versions of wonderful projects like omnirom in a very short time after they are announced. Simply the best!
Well,my evo is gone,and I'm gonna buy a nexus 5(please google hurry up!)
Since hopefully working on the n5 will be boring and not fun as its on the evo I might port 4.4 or whatever comes next

Omnirom for now lacks most customization,it's still a big WIP,and I used evervolv device trees(with my edits,tho)
don't be surprised if it says ev all over the place

Yeah even me was interested in nexus 5, even if today didn't come out anything from google..but max in a couple of week will be out for sure, let's see :fingers-crossed: of course working on a device AOSP listed is easier (fully working rom, a recent kernel available, bootloaders factory unlocked without nonsense HTC restrictions)..but working on evo 3D gives more satisfaction LoL So now you are developing in a "blind way", I mean without a phisical device..and you roms boot!! I am impressed Good luck for the 4.4 developing , hope to see in future
Rom still isn't bugless,don't send me PMs with bugs,I already know what is broken
Anyways
Little(quite big tho) experiment
Take a read at http://www.linux.org/threads/flash-friendly-file-system-f2fs.4477/
This file system by default is used on motorola moto x and together with @namenlos we found that it delivers better performance also on our little evo.
As (I hope) most of you know,formatting to a different file system requires a set of utils,thus a different recovery and the loss of all of your data.
I didn't find any good reason to make all of you erase all your data,flash a different recovery and running manually format lines,so I came with a different flashing method..
It is more complex than usual and might not work fine(remember,no device,so no testing)
Download https://www.dropbox.com/s/utdclidhbi4yokp/first.zip and https://www.dropbox.com/s/dkj9n7jb8u1i2vp/second.zip and http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23159073880937120 and place 'em on your SD card
tl:dr:
Flash first.zip,once it ends reboot to recovery,wait for it to reboot,boot again to recovery and flash f2fs.zip
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Here's a little insight
First zip does the following things:
Make a backup of your /data(make sure you have 1.2 GB free on your SD)
Make a backup of your recovery
Flash a custom TWRP made to work with F2FS
And adds a custom openrecoveryscript to tell the special recovery to flash second.zip(ensure you have it in root of your sd)
Asks you to reboot to recovery(please do it)
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Once you reboot,custom TWRP starts,reads the script that tells it to flash second.zip
Second zip does the following:
Format as F2FS /data and /cache
Restore your data
Restore your recovery
Reboot(you should then pull the battery and reboot to recovery)
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
From your recovery,flash "f2fs.zip" which is the rom itself,reboot and enjoy
NOTE:
Kernel is not evervolv,it's a hybrid between a old johnnyslt with tweaks,new EV and my various changes
https://github.com/helicopter88/android_kernel_htc_msm8660/tree/jellybean-4.3
Oh yes fantastic file system on the moto x huge gains in performance for a dual core processor, battery performance is unbelievable, 5 hours screen time and you'll still have power left over, loving mine
Sent on my Moto X
I am willing to test it but one thing prevents me from doing that (apart from a lack of free time). How do I get back to the standard FS? do I just restore the backup i would create in the recovery?

It doesn't work,no need to try
in that case I am waiting for another build. I will be happy to test it
To go back to the old Rom you might have to restore the recovery first. Just go into fastboot usb mode and flash the official recovery. Then you can restore your backup comfortably in TWRP for sure. IIRC it should also work on the modified TWRP, at least when I tested it.
+1 for the ROM,

No, ROMs are device specific. You have to port it and add it to the list. I could attempt a port of this, I ported Firefox os to kindle fire HD, its hardware is very similar, and as long as there's a cm device tree that is ICS based or higher I should be able to attempt a build. I only haven't tried yet since my bootloader is yet to be unlocked, but I could attempt a build this weekend if you want, I just need a cm device tree.

OK cool, can't wait to see how this works, its funny you mention it after the fact because a few months ago running Firefox is would have been a complete pain because sgx GPU's were having issues, I was around at the time they fixed it working on kfhd builds. Can't wait to attempt a build on this and see how it goes. Only downside is I can't personally test out the ROM. That being said i can already think of a few issues that might present themselves since the hardware is similar but only time will tell...

ok thanks, thats a good part of it i think, i will have to see about putting together a manifest using that repo plus maybe a few others, last time i did this it was with a device that wasnt official at the time so i had a manifest generated for the process already that made my life easier, so i will have to do some research this time to figure out what repos i need, i can guess that one and definately the proprietary blobs. Will try to get this done sometime soon, ran out of time this weekend because i was also doing something on my domain controller to update some deployment images and the freaking power inverter for the lcd screen died...
a small update before i head to work, i managed to get it to start the compilation process now, so now comes the tedious debugging process, already hit one error about selinux attribs that needs to be set correctly so there arent duplicates, those are easy enough to fix, just thought you might want an update.
if anybody is still curious how this is going, i'm tryin got fix an issue involving the kernel not compiling, finally decided to go with using a prebuilt but iunfortunately having a hard time figuring out why defining TARGET_PREBUILT_KERNEL isnt working...

Nt really my field of expertise, but I read the post and found something I thought might be helpful. This was a link posted by (Duckbill, I think):
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/gdmsp...1&ret=1&curPage=2&searchtype=&keyword=&arg01=
It is a link to the LG South Korea portal of some kind entitled: 2013-11-04 FireFox OS Training Material. It is presented as a .zip file but when extracted with 7z, it only produces this:
[autorun]
open=LGMain.exe
icon=LGMain.exe,0
The file is larger than 5MB so I'm sure this is simply more LG encryption, although I don't really understand the implications of the instructions. On the remote chance that this is helpful, let me know how it helped.
I got a successful build, not sure if it will work but it built successfully. If you wanna test it post back and i''ll post the link soon, still have to upload it.
*** USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS SOFTWARE OR SOMETHING ELSE SUDDENLY FRIES YOUR DEVICE. ***
ok this is just a alpha build so no guarentees it will even boot and since i have the p769 with a locked bootloader i can't really test the build. Again this is for the p760 and i would like to mention if it doesnt work i wouldn tbe surprised if you get stuck at the bootloader logo while the os is actually trying to boot, if this happens i blame the hwc module, so if it does happen i believe you should have superuser access at a adb shell and you can simply run
Code:
adb shell mount -o rw,remount /system
adb shell rm /system/vendor/lib/hw/hwcomposer.p760.so
adb shell rm /system/vendor/lib/hw/hwcomposer.omap4.so
adb reboot
that might fix a not booting issue. This is a barebones build, until i know i have a build that can sucessfully build i dont bother tsing bluetooth and rild and such. I can say that since i didnt make the modifications i did last time that i'm assuming bluetooth is probably not enabled right now.
anyways i will make this a thread in the dev section when its out of testing. Here's a link to the first alpha build if you are willing to try it: http://d-h.st/5Kq
anybody going to test this? I let it sit for a few days but i was hoping to have some testers by now. Can't really debug it myself without having a actual device thats unlockable. Theoretically i might be able to run this with a 2nd init exploit, never tried setting one up on a b2g os though.

[ROM][10]LineageOS Z4Tablet[SGP712/771]

There is Android Q ROM for Xperia Tablet Z4.
This is a quite stable rom, but there are:
- a broken camera (there is a small chance that someday it'll be fixed);
- when the tablet is off, during charging, the diode will always light red;
- FM radio;
- Hardware encryption (external SD Card as internal storage)
- LiveDisplay;
Many games like clash of clans crash after some time of using;
It works quite laggy.
How to install:
1) use TWRP 3.1.1 or 3.4.0 (this is better). If you using 3.1.1 one, remove the first two lines from updater-script (\ META-INF \ com \ google \ android);
Code:
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "SGP771" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "SGP771" ||
getprop("ro.product.device") == "karin" || getprop("ro.build.product") == "karin" || abort("E3004: This package is for device: SGP771,karin; this device is " + getprop("ro.product.device") + "."););
Note, I often upload ROM with having two lines removed.
2) wipe system, data, cashe, dalvik;
3) Flash the firmware, gapps, magisk and that’s it.
Change log:
20200620 - livedisplay now fully works.
20200730 - fixing memory leaks in the kernel.
20200812 - fixing led and light sensor.
20201023 - camera fix.
Last builds (mirror) are here.

Kernel sources.
We must be infinite grateful to sabar_op for his hard work in development of this rom and Bernie and Tarkzim who help to update kernel for kitakami devices. :good:.
Battery consumption significantly reduced! For further reduction, please follow these instructions https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=83211949&postcount=197 .
First of all: Thank you for keeping our device with up to date rom. Very much appreciated. I am still on LOS 7.1. and would like to move on to a more recent rom with current security patches.
The first two lines in updater-script of lineage-17.1-20200620-UNOFFICIAL-karin/ read
Code:
ui_print("Target: Sony/karin/karin:10/QQ3A.200605.001/eng.sabar.20200621.001556:userdebug/test-keys");
package_extract_dir("install", "/tmp/install");
and not what is written in the post. What is the problem? I want to use TWRP 3.1.1. for flashing. Am I missing something?

Before the uploading roms, I ckeck it on my own to see whether it works and as far as remember I've done this step.
All you need to do is to wipe necessary and flash the rom with twrp 3.1.1. If you will have zero byte internal storage, you have to format it by twrp.
May I ask where the source code for this build is located at ? (both kernel and rom)

Which version works best (which date)?
Also why not put the files on androidfilehost, this site looks unusual and with no source code available people should be careful what they are installing.

The sources of common tree and kernel are in https://github.com/Sony-MSM8994-Dev
I am just doing a bit modification to match our device, while the device tree can be found in my github.

The last ones are most stable from 30072020. The 12082020 with fixing led and light sensor.
I use my own cloud storage as this would be saved for many years and it's fast enough to download.

Is the latest build (12082020) compatible with SGP712 (karin_windy), or I should use 30072020-karin_windy for my SGP712?

[CLOSED] Rick's Rom DUB5 SM-N986U1 Snapdragon Safe Update To One UI 3.1

First, I am not responsible to what happens after you flash this. If your phone dose not work afterwords it is your own doing. I didn't force you to flash it..
This is a stock rom for the most part for the Snapdragon Note 20 Ultra U1 that I use as my daily driver. I disabled file encryption, removed knox, fixed screen cast and shealth plus Bluetooth and smartwatch pairing. Most of the Google apps are uninstallable. I'll try to keep this up to date every month the best I can. Enjoy.
You Must Have A Unlocked Bootloader and a SM-N986 U1 or U Ultra to proceed.This Might Wipe Your Data!! Make a Back up!!.
Instructions:
1: Flash with Odin in the respective slots (bl, ap, cp and csc).
2: Wipe and format data in recovery if coming from a different rom or android version.
3: Reboot and set it up.
Enjoy.
See this thread or this thread if you need a unlock. The teams there are great!
Built With SuperR's Kitchen
Thanks @afaneh92 for the unlock and TWRP
Thanks @bklyn_syed for sharing the fixes for Bluetooth and shealth.

@Misterxtc Very glad to see more custom roms being built.
Would you be able to build an AOSP rom for the Note 20 Ultra (SM-986U)?
Would love to see an AOSP rom like Lineage OS or Havoc OS

I don't think so but I'm really not sure, I haven't looked into it. The big deal for me is downloading more firmware, keeping track of more files, storage space and time. Honestly it's pretty simple to build your own. You can get all the info you need for that here .

I was sitting here debating on whether to go with 10 or 11 lol. Durrr me...I'm all for a custom cleaned up ROM any day over the untouched stock firmware. I see that your ROM is on the latest 11 (CUA1). Nice!
Since your tweaking the universal U1 firmware and since there isn't any carrier bloatware in there, is there much to really remove to make it even more lean and lighter? I know in the old days those firmware's were loaded with bloat and by removing them helped it a lot.
I also noticed that the latest 11 file size was smaller than the latest 10. From what you can see is that from just making 11 more efficient, thus making it lighter?
Regarding the change log:
Disabled File Encryption - Is that for the entire device file encryption or the built in folder encryption that was disabled? What are the benefits from disabling this? Does it just make it smoother even if you don't use the encryption feature on the device?
Removed Knox - Does using a smart watch to use Samsung Pay etc... still a work around even with the device knox removed?
Are there any settings to be able to tweak camera settings to improve the camera? iirc back in the Note 3 and 4 days, a Dev said that there was a value in the image quality or something that was set to I think 8 instead of the max 10? He had maxed that out and included that in the ROM... I'm curious if such adjustments exist in the 11?
Does the CUA1 have the baked in Microsoft Swiftkey (VIRUS) or is that only on carrier firmware's?
I have the Unlocked varaint of the Note 20 Ultra straight from Samsung. Oddly, it came with firmware ATGO, which is ATT lol.. but I'm on TM. What has been annoying is that I can't uninstall the darn microsoft swiftkey.
I love Swiftkey as a keyboard (best touch accuracy IMO), but despise the intrusivemness, so I like to use my own tweaked swiftkey with the internet premissions removed w/ using AFWall+ to block everything else. ie...
The thing is that I haven't been able to install the tweaked swiftkey due to it not letting me since the stock MS one is baked in...

Sounds good! Looking forward to try it out. And I hope there will be enough people left with these devices to be able to use your build.
Btw, did you have any use of the old marshmallow for it? Played a bit with it yesterday and it seems realy stable! The only thing that puts me off there is the small font.. There are of course ways to increase the size with some apps, but they are usually limited...
So, i hope there are usual ways to make the font bigger in your build for us elderly..

Nope ,
never tried this, you can set the font size as it should be in LOS, just try it if it's big enough .

Managed install it finally! Have to give a tip to people that are going to do that - the latest TWRP can not mount the whole /data and format it if you have encryption. In that case you have to downgrade to the old 3.0.X TWRP first, and then go back to the latest TWRP to flash LOS16. Took me a while to find the solution for this
Writing this review on the t235, connected to a bt keyboard after the last OTA update..
Really good job! Everything seems to be working. And i can get bigger fonts! After the last update even bt works, which was important for me. The only bigger thing i haven't tested is mobile data.
And it's not that it's huge, but i am experiencing some microlags. Perhaps not surprising considering it's age and that it wasn't really a flagship device already when it was released..
Thank you for this! I will of course keep on testing for a while. And, just curious - will there be /e/?

Made an Android go config

Hi
Thanks for keeping our device alive
I've lost hope long time ago.
