1. Flash latest TWRP (2.8.7.1 as of this post)
2. Boot in TWRP

Was tested before, will not work, if I remember correctly it will not detect either sim card.

As above, it will not enable the second slot for the pure as the pure is XT1575 and all the single sim Eu/dual sim Asia and LA are XT1572 with ever so slightly different hardware. The software is same except modem and hw is same except the sim slot and the hardcoded model Id

If I backup my modem with TWRP from the stock MM, and if I restore it on a custom Rom I will get back all the modem band from my XT1572 ?

If you install a custom rom and you find your modem is wrong you can simply flash one of these to restore your EU modem for XT1572 or Asia DS etc
Well, maybe, before you install a new modem, it is necessary to erase the existing one?

I have a US variant of the moto x pure, however have moved to Germany, where band 20 is needed on Vodafone for LTE. Will flashing the style modem enable band 20, or just kill my phone? I assume that it would not work, but hey...you never know.

I guess it will not. Because you need to have Dual SIM hardware for that. I have read somewhere that US moto x pure doesn't have dual sim hardware
In Europe/Germany we do have the the hardware for 2 SIM. However the second SIM is obviously disabled by software.
Can i flash something to enable dual sim while keeping the compatibility with German network providers?
On most the above questions i am unsure i only provided the software/firmware for development and testing purposes. As i state in OP.. ALWAYS Backup.. and test. Whats the harm

You could try. My EU x style used a US Modem for a while without issues. You can always flash the US modem back if something goes wrong. But it's your decision and risk in the end.

A backup does not help if you change the modem and something goes wrong. Only flashing the original modem back.
I have an EU Pure but it is telling me that the baseband is unknown. I have flashed the EU version but still no wifi. Any ideas what I should try?

Hi guys!
I have seen a thread with more or less the same problem. In most of european countries the white version of OPX comes with H2OS and its the e1001 variant.
The main problem is that the H2OS is laggy in games,very laggy. I have bought three OPXs in Romania and all of them have the same problem. How do I upgrade the firmware/software without root or TWRP? Is it possible? Because the guys that provide the warranty for this phone may void it if something bad happens.
I am running H2Os v1.2.0. It s very snappy with zero lagg but when gaming starts it is very rubbish. Help me here please. What am I supposed to do?

You can download the OxygenOS zip and flash it with stock recovery. I would suggest unlock the bootloader, install twrp and take H2OS nandroid there on flash O2OS u can test it for a couple of days and then decide for your liking between the 2 ROMs

I havent really used 2 sims in my oneplus x (germany) with oxygen os but in the android settings it shows all the stuff for dual sim usage. You can deactivate a sim and also set the preferred sim for data usage, calls amd sms.

Go to the stock dialler. Select the options from top right (3 dots after the voice search assistant). Select settings>Call Settings>Phone Account Settings>Make calls with. Here you can select 3 options. If you select ask first you'll be prompted everytime you make a call to select from which sim you want to make the call or select either of the sims directly.
But it does not work anymore in OxygenOS 2.1.2, 2.1.3, or 2.1.3-x . Maybe in future OTAs ...

In the past engineering software had unlocked boot loader or permissive SE, first steps to get root. Unless you know exactly what you doing, I wouldn't touch it and wait for experts to find solution, namely root. Engineering software may not be 100% stable or may not let your phone fully charge etc
Devs workkng on root are already past this point...no need for this unless using to unbrick your device or other development purposes...this will also be used in switching carriers when we get it all figured out...Do not use if you do not know what you are doing!!!

I am waiting for your step by step as I have T mobile with permanent SIM unlocked.
I was able to flash to Unlocked version FW and removed the bloats but the carrier is still TMB in the baseband .
With this Factory Binary can I make my phone Fully unlocked Version to XAA/XAA/XAA? is it called debranding?
The reason I want have some more freq on unlocked version LTE band that T mobile version don't have. and use some CDMA on 3G
I am hoping there is no hardware limitation on T mobile phone.

For debranding you need root...for carrier switching...guide is up and allows you to change clear csc to add intended csc so you can flash intended carrier Firmware without previous carrier info...https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/how-to/guide-sm-n950u-u1-t3685884...why do you want to debrand the device?

Thank you Bluefox for reply, I might have wrong assumption that if Fully Unlocked Firmware is also determined by the last 3 digits XAA ( support CDMA band)
I don't have tools to proof it work with CDMA, (unless by registering my device to sprint after flashed to XAA) , as T mobile only support GSM.
Job assignment force me to use some CDMA band while overseas and most of them in job site still use CDMA in 2G and 3G which is not covered by T mobile handset with original FW.
For better explanation of my question , Can I use the handset without Sim Card on Sprint as long as they register my Handset (MEIID/ESN) for Voice service only.? like old time CDMA phone handset?

Miui pro ported nougat is just a custom rom. It doesnt include modem files to flash in modem partition.
Ur modem partition still has the files of miui global.
Miui pro is for mi max which is ported to kenzo..

Kenzo itself is dual sim and i am also using both sim cards also. I was wondering whether there could be any updated or modified modem for India.
I knew none of the unoffical Rom files will have modem. But googled and didnt find any update or custom rom. Wondering few sites like 4pda were recommending epic modem 7.11.6 Noughat for better coverage. But i didnt find any other links. So with curiosity i put my question here.

Yes i am using 2 sims. But my primary sim is in 2nd slot. During day time i use 2nd slot for data and 1st slot (secondary sim) as data in night.

Put the sim in slot1 which u use for data. Sim2 slot is only for calls. Its issue in kenzo. Miui global works fine may be. But custom rom with issues.
If u use sim2 slot for data then u will come across network drop.

As reported by @hahmad78, before flashing this, backup your current OREO ROM's EFS and Firmware partitions,
then restore those partitions after flashing the ROM and dual SIM will work correctly on the H990DS.
Restoring these partitions from a Nougat ROM will most likely cause problems!
Single SIM:
I have this running on a single SIM H990 without issue.
If you see second SIM functions in the ROM and want to disable it, use this SIM toggler
Installation process:
• Flash latest TWRP
• BACKUP everything
• Clean wipe (system, data, caches)
• Flash ROM
• Flash Magisk
• Flash MK2000 Oreo kernel
• Reboot
• Enjoy

From my experience, dual SIM ROMs can be flashed on single SIM H990 too, and using this SIM toggler:

The above will disable the second SIM functions throughout the ROM.

dear i have checked this 20h rom by flashing kdz on mu h990ds. Second sim issue same as v20f. second sim do not detect signals.
so before flashing beware of it.

It might be that you flashed a KDZ (with all partitions). Although this is just a guess. I have this running on my single SIM H990 and calls, wifi, data all work.
Can you please check what ARB setting it's on? 0 or 1? Thanks

I don't see why it wouldn't work on the H990DS variant. It's working fine on my single SIM H990 variant. Just make sure to do an extensive backup.

i am already running v20h h990n rom on my h990ds ame variant. @ND sim issue is present in v20f and v20h roms for h990n variant. i am using h990n roms from last year on my h990ds variant for experiment of VOLTE.
the solution for 2nd sim issue can be resolved by backup and restore efs, firmware, partitions in twrp from working 2nd sim rom to this one.
i have rectified it and so i am using 2nd sim on h990ds with v20f for h990n.

single sim also worked fine for me. now i have got 2nd sim in working too.

I just checked and no, it doesn't display HD when making a call. But I believe this is down to my carrier not supporting the feature.

can you please upload the nt code ? i have attached nt code for h990ds . i have tried many codes, and combinations, still no gain.
as far i have checked roms for all variants, almost same except some data missing in ipsec folder in root/data for carrier specific and modem sw mbn files.
i use lg up patched for kdz flashing, in that way, keep roots and no hassle, very simple and easy, and you can select which ever partition to flash. no data loss for me uptill now .

Sorry, my bad, bu using following code *#546368#*990# , you will get hidden menu, there , go to SVC MENU, and than VERSION INFO, you will see nt code there,
2nd method, by using adb shell, type following command, it make a copy of misc partition on your sd card, open it in hex editor, there you will find all information related to mobile, imei, mac address, nt code, software version etc.
dd if=/dev/block/platform/soc/624000.ufshc/by-name/misc of=/sdcard/misc.bin
By following command , you can flash this or by changing name(misc.bin) any partition, put the file on sd card , than run following command. It could be run through terminal emulator too or from pc, through adb shell, than su and than following command
dd if=/sdcard/misc.bin of=/dev/block/platform/soc/624000.ufshc/by-name/misc

Dual SIM:
As reported by @hahmad78, before flashing this, backup your current ROM's EFS and Firmware partitions, then restore those partitions after flashing the ROM and dual SIM will work correctly on the H990DS
Single SIM:
I have this running on a single SIM H990 without issue.
If you see second SIM functions in the ROM and want to disable it, use this SIM toggler
Installation process:
• BACKUP everything
• Clean wipe (system, data, caches)
• Flash ROM
• Flash Magisk
• Flash MK2000 Oreo kernel
• Reboot
• Enjoy

My Note20ultra is blocked by the operated (Au KDDI) from Japan and it is a different model that I have never seen (SCG06) I only know that it is snapdragon but there is almost no information about it on the internet, will it be that changing the CSC and auterizing the ROM will it unlock SIM Card for other operators? I've already checked the IMEI and it doesn't seem to be blocked, nor is it on any Black list. Do you know any software or metuto for this type of unlocking? already tried to change the ROM via Odin using a ROM from other countries for example "SM-n986w" but all give PIT and partition error. Would a constomized ROM do the trick?

Main benefits over stock? How does battery life compare to stock?

Not necessary a rooted device but you do need your bootloader unlocked.

Installation Process:
- Backup BOOT partition
- flash the ZIP from TWRP
Uninstallation Process:
- Restore BOOT partition backup
The benefits are listed in the feature list above. Battery life should be very close to identical to stock - there's no massive battery saving changes here I'm afraid. More about additional functionality.
