Dell Latitude E7440 - USB Boot: "invalid partition table" - Remix OS for PC

I flashed Remix OS on a on a freshly formated Kingston 16 Gb usb stick. When I boot my PC, it says "invalid partition table!".
I tried to reformat the USB stick, but the same message appears. I'll try to find another USB stick for testing. Any tips/ideas on what would cause this kind of error message?

Wow!! Same model laptop and same error. I used a 64GB Sandisk flash drive. Tried EFI and Legacy. Both didn't work. Are we unlucky with this model laptop?

I had this too when the flash drive was formatted ntfs by accident. Reformatting to fat32 and reflashing the remixos ISO fixed it to boot.

Cant format my SD-card

I press unmount and then format and i press yes. But nothing happens. It doesnt format and it doesnt remount my sdcard.
Anyone else had this problem?
Im running Modaco (tried on both 2.2 and 2.6)
Yep, I had this problem earlier today. Just bought a new 16Gb sd card, tried to format it and nothing. Nothing on the phone and if I tried to mount it to Windows, it would say mounted, then Windows would say it needs to format the card, but would fail when you try.
In the end, the only thing I could do was to put the card into my work phone (a Touch Pro) and mount it to Windows via that. I was then able to format the card in Windows. Put it back back in the Hero and rebooted (because the SD card error message wouldn't go away). After that, it was fine.
Don't know why it doesn't work, but I think you will need to mount the card in Windows somehow and format it that way.
Plug it via a memory card reader and format it as FAT32 by right-clicking your memory card under "My Computer" and selecting Format..
// This is an alternative method and will most likely work
My 2 yr old 8gig Sandisk SDHC class 2 sudden;u went kaput, cannot be detected by my Topaz (strangely, my Topaz cannot detect other microSD as well, a 4Gb Sandisk Class 6 which is working fine on a Raphael).
The error message on my XP SP3 PC is like this:
Exception Processing Message c0000013
Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7 c 75b6bf7c
[Cancel] [Try Again] [Continue]
Can't detect, thus can't format.
Any help, please?
i'd think that this is connected to apps2sd feature. try partitioning it in recovery image, or format in card reader in pc.

64Gb MicroSD card not visible over USB

I've just installed a Sandisk 64Gb MicroSD card, and formatted it on the S2. I previously had a 32Gb card. For some reason the new SD card is not visible on a PC when I connect in MTP mode - I can only see the 11Gb internal SD card. I'm running ICS (Resurrection Remix 1.1).
Has anyone else had problems with 64Gb cards?
Check in Applications (settings). There's a seeing there that might need changing. USB debug mode.

Windows 7 only gives the option of exFAT or NTFS (it was formatted as exFAT). I tried formatting it to FAT32 from the DOS prompt but it just hung at 0% complete.
???
Apparently there's a way to use ntfc on gs2 but the guy who mentioned it on XDA ,I can't recall exactly what he said. He's called trev186

Something wrong with your card reader or windows then as FAT 32 is the Windows default tested and formatted a card 30 seconds ago .

Must be a Windows problem. I just plugged the card reader into a Linux machine and was able to format in FAT(32). Both phone and PC can see the card now, but am having problems with the phone stopping responding while copying. Hmmm...

Firstly and most important point....any drive or storage media(external/internal) cannot be formatted to fat 32 filesystem if its capacity or size is more than 32 gigs......there are ways to format it to fat 32 but thats actually not pure fat 32....
Secondly s2 supports cards upto 32 gigs..i don't know how you actually are using it....it might not be giving you the full capacity of 64 gigs...(please confirm that)
So the case here may be that..either your sd card has been formatted to an unknown format by the phone that the pc cannot recognize when connected via phone...
So firstly please try re formatting the sd card with your phone and then plug it into your pc via the card reader...if your pc shows the option that the sd card needs to be formatted then...its true..use a 32 gig sd card or any compatible device...else try formatting it to fat 32 via usb extreme software (well google it)...
Else you cannot use it on s2 with ntfs format...cuz the s2 doesn't support ntfs...

When I formatted the card from the phone I got the "Blank USB Storage" notification immediately after the format was complete. If I then tried to copy anything to it using ES File Explorer (a file from the internal SD card for example) I got "copy failed".
I'm now using Windows Explorer to copy files onto the SD card (I was using Directory Opus before on the PC) and so far so good...
Hmm...did you try to use partition wizards to format your sd card via card reader? The partition wizard softwares are available for free if you do a quick google...format into FAT 32...I use EASEUS partition manager...

No I just tried the standard format options in Windows before switching to Linux and reformatting to FAT
Then maybe you should consider my method...

It's SD XC I (Class 6). All is well now after formatting to FAT on Linux - it's writable and now visible on the PC via USB

[Q] Venue 8 3830 4.4.2 mount ext2/3/4 USB stick?

How to mount an USB stick formatted ext2/3/4?
When I connect a FAT formatted stick, it works, NTFS too using the Paragon_NTFS TC plugin.
I thought ext2/3/4 is supported, when the system and internal storage is on an ext4 partition.
Has the tablet to be rooted?
Tried also an ext3 formatted SDCard in the tablet, the result is the same - it says the card is empty or an unsupported filesystem..
The format it is told to read the sd card is different from the format it's told to read the system as. I'd say you'd have to be rooted if making any changes to what's readable versus what's not. The only thing is I'm not too sure on how exactly you'd do that other than using a cwm recovery and adding an extension partition on your card.
I'm afraid I need to do something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/dell-venue/general/guide-ext4-microsd-card-dell-venue-8-t3042906
The main problem is, I can't root my Venue because I've encrypted the filesystem.
I'm afraid I have to reformat my USB sticks to FAT32/NTFS ...
Decrypt then? Root and recrypt?
Edit: did you buy a large as card?
My 32 is in but have only had issues with higher cards like 64 and 128. There's an application I once used to format the card on board but when I plugged it into PC whether Linux or win, they'd get corrupted. So now the 128 lives in my laptop and the 64 in phone. 32 for the tablet for me is plenty. Onboard formatted to exFat I believe. Backup your goods. [emoji12]
Edit 2: I'm sure there's an app for that. No? Sorry, I was talking micro SD like a MF, lol! Stuff like that is not cool but I throw everything on my biggest USB 128 and it's formatted to NTFS but my others are just fat and don't read either.
According the instructions when encrypting, there is no decrypting, only factory reset.
I have a 64GB card, formatted to FAT32, no issues so far.
The idea was to use an EXT3 formatted USB thumb drive for big files (movies), so far I'm bypassing the problem with a NTFS formatted USB thumb drive and the Paragon_NTFS TC plugin but I have to copy the big file to the internal storage because the plugin doesn't make the NTFS drive visible for other apps than TC (Total Commander).
Edit: There are apps for mounting USB EXT2/3/4 (USB OTG Helper, USB Mount All, StickMount) but they all require root.
Then follow the crowd and. ..
Root it, root it, root it.... lol
Those were the apps I've used before and I root every device I own before I even get comfy with it.

Micro SD file system

what is/are the micro sd file system(s) recognised by OPX?
i inserted a 64G micro sd formatted with exFAT, and it was not recognised by OPX.. (it was recognised by TWRP as "/external_sd")
should i try NTFS then? (but im afraid TWRP might not recognise it then..)
any hint? thx..

Ive allso had exfat and have problems with it, now i have ntfs and it works prefect.
In Oxygen 2.1.2 my experience was that the only filesystem working BOTH in Oxygen, Windows and TWRP was Fat32 formatted in TWRP. I really tried them all (exFat, fat32, NTFS, Ext4, f2fs)
However, after upgrade to Oxygen 2.1.3 I discovered that also exFat works everywhere so I reformatted my 128 GB card to exFat.
yes v2.1.3 added back support to exFAT..
What is correct file path for sdcard? Stock E1005 2.1.3-X using stock file Manager?
I have 64gb sdxc gskill class 10 there is no option to format card on phone. Upon boot "sdcard available click to access".
Shows up in Storage. Saving to sdcard is hot & miss. ie. Moving OpenCamera frm internal to sdcard, shows up Settings>Apps, ON SDCARD tab
But not in file Manager

Sorry to bump a really old thread but I noticed on 3.1.4 ExFat is not supported and the phone asks me to reformat and it goes into FAT32
Anyone else seeing this on 1+X?
Yes I found this rather annoying I ended up just formatting it in end. Lol. There is ways around it but eh.

Can't partition microSDHC kingston 32Gb class 10 card

Hi
I am trying to use a kingston 32gb class 10 sd card in order to expand my internal storage with Link2SD. The process to create the first fat32 partition worked fine. However, i am totally UNABLE to create the second ext2 partition. Using mini tool partition wizard shows the result in attached image. I tried in linux using fdisk, parted, GParted and the result is the same: the second partition is not being created. I tried with sd card mounted in phone ... no luck.
Any clue about this?
This is a common issue with repartitioning using Windows. I suggest Gparted on a Linux distro. You can just run it off a live installer USB with Ubuntu.
Example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19279441#post19279441
Sorry, somehow just passed over that you had tried Gparted once I saw the Mini tool. Just woke up :/
