Not true at all. haha. Remix has had an EFI version available. Just download the EFI version, use the USB tool to write it to the USB stick of your choice, and follow my guide:

Just installed Remix os on my old laptop and it's running pretty well. Would love to see it can be port to the ASUS zenpad s as well since it's x86. I have the 4gb ram version and I assume it could run smoother then my old laptop.

if have a dell venue 8 pro 3000s series with 32bit efi and i got it to run. u have to manually set up a 32 bit version of grub in windows (put some files in efi partition, set up some config files......) and i used the files the androidx86 installer will provide.
its roughly like this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/remix/remix-os/guide-install-remixos-pc-hdd-partition-t3320861 but i didnt get any linux distro like ubuntu to boot (because of the 32bit efi) so i had to use windows. And be sure to disable bitlocker on ur windows partition and disable secure boot in the efi settings

Remix OS on HP Slatebook 14

Is it possible to install Remix OS on android based laptop?
I would like to know this as well.
If you can boot from Ubuntu live USB, delete partitions (will delete existing Android too), create ext4 partition and then boot from RemixOS USB then yes, you can install Remix on any device.
If your Android based laptop has a locked bootloader or read only filesystem then you cannot install RemixOS unless you "open those locks".

Has anyone confirmed if this is possible? The HP Slatebook 14 is a great little package, but being stuck on KitKit is limiting.

How to install Remix OS (Dual Boot; System GPT Partition)

I am having trouble installing Remix OS in my laptop (Acer E5-521)
I made a 16GB partition for the Remix OS and install the system via it's bundled program.
I also successfully configured my laptop to dual-boot with Remix OS and Windows 10 with a complex work-around (Simple EasyBCD process doesn't work for me as the NeoGrub is greyed out) even I disabled the secure boot in the boot menu.
Once I try to boot to the Remix OS this what happen: it stays on the logo. I tired to wait for some hour and even stayed my laptop overnight it will not boot to the UI or the setup.
I try to look for solutions. Unfortunately, most tutorial I saw is through using an MBR partition.
My PC HDD is a GPT -- which is kinda obsolete using an OS like this.
To anyone who can help or had successfully installed the OS in a GPT HDD, I am hoping for your kindness to share your knowledge regarding this matter.
Looking forward for a reply

Try Phoenix OS 2.0.3. I have installed it on a GPT Hdd, ntfs formated partition with triple boot options. Windows 10, OS x 10.12, Phoenix OS. working fine without any problem. I used .exe file of Phoenix OS instead of .iso file.
My PC is Dell Optiplex 7010 , Intel Corei5, 8GB Ram, Nvidia Geforce 210

Wiping HDD and installing Remix os on it

I have an old netbook that is pretty slow, it would be nice if I can install remix os as the only OS on that laptop. no boot from USB, no dual boot with windows, just push on button and remix os boots up.
For example, when I boot up ubuntu from usb there is the option to wipe hdd and install ubuntu on it. Would be nice if remix os had similar feature.

If your netbook is old (perhaps with 32bit cpu only), you'll have to take into account, that Remix OS will not start because there are problems with the graphics system.
Post "Installing Remix OS to Hard Drive or Virtual Machine without additional tools" describes how to use the built in formatting tool "cfdisk" for deleting old partitions and creating new partitions and setting up Remix OS in the next steps.
If you don't mind using additional tools like "PartedMagic" you'll find a description how to prepare a hdd and how to install Remix OS in Post "Remix OS on Hard Drive or Virtual Machine - Installation and (OTA) Update"

Remix OS and Clover

Hi! As I wrote in my profile signature, I'm using an ASUS X552C laptop running in dual boot OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 and Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Both 64bit, obviously.
I'm also running a UEFI copy of Clover, which I really love, but now I have a doubt.
I'm planning to create a third 35Gb partition for Remix OS in NTFS, so I will have 250Gb for Mac, 215Gb for Windows and 35Gb for Remix OS.
Now, as far as I remember when I only had Windows (7), installing Remix OS via Windows, managed to create a new boot entry in the Windows Bootloader, but as far as I have Clover bootloader, if I install Remix OS (in triple boot), in Clover will I get:
a. OS X, Windows 10 and Remix OS or
b. just OS X and Windows?
And if B, when I will start Windows I will get the Windows Bootloader showing me also the Remix OS entry? Sorry, but it's hard to explain, I hope you understood.
Thanks in advance.

Previosly with Win7 - was that on a different laptop [or you were using legacy boot]? RemixOS shouldn't be able to add a boot entry to UEFI WBM [Windows bootmanager]
Currently what you have is Clover ==> OSX and Clover ==> chainloading WBM ==> Windows 10.
Installing RemixOS with thd tool will install Grub2 bootloader/manager and should add an entry to chainload WBM. So you'd get:
Grub2 ==> RemixOS and Grub2 ==> chainloading WBM ==> Windows 10 and it would/should make grub2 the default bootmanager over Clover/WBM
I guess you preferred option is loading all 3 from Clover?
In that case you can either chainload grub2 from Clover [clover might even auto-add a grub2 chainload (in which case you'd get A after setting the default BM to Clover again); not 100% sure though]; or you can remove grub and use the RemixOS kernel as a efiSTUB kernel - guide is posted here somewhere.
On B. As above you shouldn't get an added boot entry on UEFI but WBM ==> other options ==> use a device ; should identify and load the installed RemixOS as if it's an external USB device

Exactly, I bought my pc with Windows 8 UEFI, but it was horrible, so I reverted to Windows 7, that doesn't support UEFI, so I installed it in Legacy mode.
