@anonymous i got a boot loop while i was applying a theme
and this was written in addictive tips
It has been brought to our attention that the following method will not work for some devices running stock ROMs because their manufacturers have made the ridiculous decisions of either using their own proprietary format for their boot animations (we’re talking about you, Samsung!), or choosing a non-standard path for the bootanimation.zip file and removing the ability to override it by copying a new one to /data/local (that would be you, HTC!).
Please confirm and can you provide a link for custom boot animation for ace ?
any bootanimation will work on any rom, but theme is different story.

are you sure it will work on odex fw ? another member told me u have to be deodexed
i'm not 100% sure, just my understanding is bootanimation doesnt have anything to do with odex/deodex. its just merely a zip file, not apks. well u can try on odex rom, just make cwm backup incase something goes wrong
Since with an unlocked bootloader motorola won't automatically change our bootanimation as it usually happens, i found a zip here on xda and decided to share it in our section.
You can see the bootanimation here below:
I also found the boot logo "consistent" with that bootanimation, so i changed the png in our original logo.bin ( you can see the preview in the attachments ).
For sure it will work with XT1068 but i think that all variants have the same logo.bin, so it should work with all moto g 2nd gen.
Both packages are ready to be flashed from a custom recovery.

Download the boot logo zip file from op and extract them.

it is definitely better then what stock roms and other custom roms deliver. Until AOSP builds, this should be the best user oriented rom.

Flash stock rom through odin
Flashing stock rom may not delete the data
Then take a backup of your data and come back to this rom

if i change the ro.sf.lcd_density on build.prop to 215 before i flash the zip it can get stuck on boot ? cuz i have done this with s4thewin rom (creditz to mrgwin) and it worked, so i tried it whith transwin rom v3 (s5 style) and i get stuck on boot (i think it's cause of the quick settings menu mod) i don't like the default resolution of quattro

go to themes app and looks online for free themes maybe u will find something idk
or try mi-tools apk but i'm not sure if its can do that

Then you either have a wrong kernel or your rom didn't install correctly.

idk man go back to stock /root/dualboot recovery then from PhilzRec. Clean to install new rom then flash stock rooted 167 boot it up turn of then again Clean to install new rom from Philz /flash rom chose your model unlocked or locked /flash gaps then restart your phone 1st boot can take a while or if your battery low it can not boot it up too. If you need rooted with dualboot recovery stock 167 4.4.4 i can upload it

If you have an unlocked bootloader, the one in the zip should work fine. Otherwise you need to flash the kernel from a .167 ftf (with flashtool; select only the kennel.sin and don't check wipe data)

I personnaly use GMD auto hide softkeys , it's a paid app but it works fine , just allow pop-up and make it unkillable .

I had a problem installing the ota too. Once it failed, I just went to recovery and flashed manually the zip in the "downloaded_rom" folder.

The bootanimation is with bootlogo . Both are installed together in the zip.

I'll add the version to restore the original file soon.
I went by and converted the video animation to image files for it to work on any custom rom, and stock.
