Third Party Clock Widgets Not Updating Time - T-Mobile LG V10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone else having this issue on the V10? I have tried every setting I can think of and looked all over online for solutions.
Any ideas? The system clock continues to function but every clock widget I have tried stops and does not update. Sometimes it is hours off and I have to do a manual refresh.
I have tried on the stock launcher as well as Nova and a few others.
Thanks everyone!

Confirmed, I am facing this issue as well

Do you have greenify, or any other apps that kill background apps and processes? If so whitelist your widget apps, I have zooper and beautiful widgets, and both work as intended...

Battery saver is off.

If it makes you feel better my 2nd Screen is doing it. It shows the wrong time until I turn the screen on, almost caused me to be VERY late to a meeting.

Been noticing this as well, and have been going crazy trying to settle on a clock/weather widget! Never had this problem on any other phone. Hmm, could it be the second screen causing it? Will try keeping it off to see what happens..

I honestly can't think of anything else right off hand... My want to run by tmo to see what they say...

Tmo says they are not aware of any issues.
In the meantime, Beautiful Widgets does seem to work, as well as the Google Clock widget. All of the others I have tried don't. They all worked on my Note 4 in 5.1.1. Oh well. Lol

Here's what I've been using. It's One Weather, and the weather does update most of the time. It's just if the widget contains a clock, the time usually gets stuck

Lol, thats cool. So you never had to buy BW again? Then maybe I never did buy the pro version, 'cuz its telling me $2.49. There was an app I think where I bought it, and then they made everyone buy it again.... I think maybe it was Tapatalk, or maybe the xparent colored versions ha-ha.

I ran into the same thing with OneWeather. What ROM are you on?

Stock ROM. Unrooted. 1weather and a few others are not working.
Thanks all

I was having the same issue, so far the app called "weather and click widget" seems to be doing fine. Also happens to look nice, and has a nice weather app attached.
-edit- just thought of something. Oneweather was having that issue on stock launcher, I'm now using nova prime instead, possibly the LG Home is causing the issue? A comment earlier in this thread made me think of that. Maybe I'll put the widget on stock launcher and see what happens.

[Q] Lockscreen

I haven't seen anyone post about this, but I really want to know about the lockscreen. The thing is I love using the pattern lock, but what I dislike is that every UI I've seen, excluding sense, have removed their standard slide-unlock screen when enabling the pattern-lock. What I love about sense is that, it didn't remove the slide-unlock...
If anyone could shed some light on this, I'd be really grateful.
Thanks!

The standard lockscreen is replaced with the pattern lock when enabled which is no different to the way stock gingerbread doess it.

Ouch, fail. So you don't have a lockscreen and pattern lock? Lockscreen for quick acces, pattern lock after prolonged period of not using the phone...
Major major fail.
Man,if you are into lockscreen.
Nothing comes close to widgetlocker{Sense 3.0 is the only other thing which comes to my mind},so many different themes to choose.
Windows/MIUI/iPhone/SE Arc & bunch of other themes to choose.
Widgetlocker is the best way to customise your phone lockscreen
I'll add another voice supporting WidgetLocker. Without wanting to state the obvious having widgets on your lock screen is fantastic (calendar, etc) and it keeps the slide and then pattern, as you want...
+1 for Widgetlocker, wouldn't be without it.
...it also lets you activate the screen with the home button, which will be ideal for those who can't get on with Samsung's placement of the power button.

Therefore, maybe you shouldn't buy a phone at all...

It's so easy to replace functions with third-party programs on Android, I really have to restrain myself not to litter my phone with every nice app I find.

Purchase widgetlocker from the market, after that you can get various lockscreen themes{include only the sliders} from xda android section itself.
Only the slider is there in the theme, rest all which you have seen in my lockscreen are the widgets
Yeah the widgets were the things that made it look good, do you just move them to the screen or what?
Thanks for your help

Yes,in widget locker you can use any widget on your lockscreen, just like you do it on your android homescreens
These are the only settings available for the security lock.
There's no time out period and this is what you're greeted with when you turn your phone on.

HUBS for Transformer Prime

Hey everyone! Hope you guys are enjoying your prime.
I've been very interested in HUBS for the android tablets and I've searched many places and some youtube tutorials but none of them seem to work 100%. I'm hoping someone can post a step by step tutorial on transformer prime ICS on how to make hubs for everyone who wants hubs on their prime.
Thanks!
P.S. I've looked around on the forums and I've found a couple hubs thread but none helped.
I'm not really sure what you're talking about as the threads I've looked at for hubs and the YouTube videos I've seen have been very informative. I set up a hubs layout the other week that I love. A few more tweaks and I'll be posting on the homescreens thread.
Perhaps you should be more specific as to what you've been having trouble with.
There is a topic, I think it's on the first page, with a awesome tutorial with lots of screenshots for ideias on original Transformer ''Themes and apps''

Holy crap this looks slick! And I thought spb had some nice eye candy. I'm def going to have to try this out. I wonder if there's a way to combine this layout with spb. You would lose the nice transition animations though which is a large part of the appeal.

Hey how did you get those app folders to pop up in the middle of the screen like that when you clicked those side icons?
One way to do it is to use folder organizer or app organizer, then use an invisible icon which you would place behind the widget. So when you touch the widget, you're really touching the icon underneath which brings up the apps. Hope that helps. Still trying to get mine all set up, very time consuming.

For my personal use, I set it up with two things in mind.
It has to be functional. I'm an organization freak and so the different hubs would have to legitimately be useful and not just for design. For example, when I'm doing schoolwork The only things I see on my screen are applications I let myself use (and I further enforce this by combining Pomordroido and Tasker to kill any apps not seen on that screen).
Work well with two handed use. While it's kind of a moot point a majority of the time because my tablet is in the dock, when I do use it undocked I want to be able to access everything quickly. You'll notice that all of my buttons are on the left and right hand side of the screens, and all are clickable with either thumb, never having to lift my hand.
Apps I use to achieve this are ADW EX Launcher, Minimalistic Text, and Pure Calendar Widget.
I'll post a video of it sometime later; it's pretty slick. Funnily enough, I was already using the exact same transitions the guy in the video posted above used, so you already know how that looks.

FriendStream...

Is there any way to get this back without rooting the phone?
Thanks,
Y2J
Friend Stream is really kind of weird as with Task Manager. They are listed in Titanium Backup as apps so we know they are there, but there is no related application listed in the application launcher. They both may be embedded in another application somewhere. Kind of like what they do for the music app...open it and you'll see streaming radio etc.
It's still there. I can get to it through the twitter widget. It will even show FB. However, the combined widget seems to be removed for some reason.

Hmm. Doesn't seem to be working. I added it in to /system/app and I don't see anything. So I then changed permissions to mirror all of the other widgets and I still don't see it. For the heck of it I tried to install it but that didn't work either. Probably something simple I'm missing.

So can someone share with me how to add this to the stock Droid Incredible 4G LTE ROM without rooting the phone? I might pick one up to test against my Rezound, and don't want to root the phone in case I decide to return it. I have a One X on AT&T right now (work phone), and my Rezound, and am testing a GSIII, which I am not overly impressed of. Hello Guys, I've searched through all threads about the friend stream, and there is not much documented on how to access it. A poster on this thread mentioned the Twitter Sense app. Another said that there is no dedicated app in the app tray to launch it, but it is there. HTC just made it hard to access. If the following had been mentioned before, I apologize, I did do a search, but found nothing.
From what I've figured, using the search function within the App Tray, came up with zero results. Using the Google search widget....I typed in "Friend Stream", and lo and behold, the app shows up (App icon being the two white silhouettes of people on a Blue background). Click on it and it is the Friend Stream app.
Access to Friend Stream is also imbedded in another widget. It is called the Social Clock. I accidentally stumbled into this while searching through the whole list of available widgets. It pretty much is the HTC signature clock, but without the date and weather. It is just the time and below the time, the most recent status update from your Facebook feed. Clicking on this part of the widget will get you into the Friend Stream app.
I hope that this helps. One of the great things I think a lot of people liked about the Friend Stream widget from before, was that you were able to update a status directly through the widget without going into a separate app, just right there on the widget. Another, is the unique tag that HTC phone users are given underneath their status update, letting people know that HTC Sense was used.
I might make a new thread, explaining these methods, so that many Inc 4G users will know how to do this, until a Rom makes the widget available or for those who choose to stay with the stock Rom. I'm getting the impression, that not many know of this and are just using the stock FB app. Lemme know if this works for you guys!
I would also be interested in knowing how to get the friendstream widget
Can anyone reccomend an app that offers a similar facebook/twitter widget?
Has anyone figured out how to get the widget back? That is my favorite part of FriendStream.
Thanks guys!
New Dinc 4Glte user missing frienstream widget. I was able to find it through the instructions from ColdWraith but HTC really??
Also, there is a Friendstream lock screen wallpaper. The widget is embedded on the lock screen. It only shows Facebook updates for me unlike the old widget which showed a combination of streams.

Nicest looking weather widget (not a fan of the default one)

HD Widgets have been getting increasingly higher reviews lately as well, but I am yet to try it.
i like the paid fancy widget!
Oh and one of the cool features of that LG O3D widget above (the top one) when you tap the weather, it shows and animated forecast screen... (raindrops, moving sun, clouds, etc... very attractive)

I'll second Beautiful Widgets. Highly customizable. :good:
Beautiful widgets here as well, i use the 4x1 super clock myself. :good:
Haha that was actually one of my only complaints about this phone, the samsung included weather widget looks like crap. Funny because it looked fine on the galaxy s ii, loved it. Dont know why they decided to totally rework it and make it ugly for this new release of touchwiz. Oh well, BW to rescue!
edit- op, i think you can download the exact widget from the lg phones to the samsung too, i remember someone ripped it not too long ago i tried it on some of my old phones, looked nice! look around a bit on xda you might find the post again.

I have been using weather forecast widget for years now https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.koxx.forecast_weather.v2 there's several sizes of widgets with and without your calendar integrated, as well as a number of icon collections and easy to use font and background settings. This is with a transparent background. What I really liked was the ability to have different widgets with different cities as well as a auto location. That however isn't working on this phone and I don't expect it to be fixed.

I am not seeing a "free" weather widget that is better looking than stock.
Beautilful widgets looks nice, but for three bucks is it worth it ?

[Q] Notification Quick Settings?

notification quick settings like rezound and other htc phones? anyway to get this?
htc has removed all quick settings code from systemUI. it woud have to be rebuilt. htc inexplicably changes everything every update. very annoying

Try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc&hl=en
It has options for notification "widget" that should satisfy your needs.

Very nice man. Not the stock sense toggles I like but will work until we ever get them!!

quick tip on this it requires a persistant notification to function but you can change the icon to transparent. Moves all notifications over one spot but is a small neusance when weighed agasint the benefit.

you can make it dissappear but the widge then bounces around and doesnt stay at the top of the notifications. its a trade off im not sure im willing to accept. anyway this is the only option really until aosp :/

Hmm. Well I'm off DNA for a couple days. Activating note again and testing it that a multi window hack finally came out!!

Just an FYI - there is also a built-in widget that toggles between silent, vibrate, and sound - also for GPS/Location, WiFi, BT. Not very pretty or as elegant a solution as the power bar, but they did include it. More like an after thought. Also, they are separate 1x1 buttons rather than a full 4x2 or 4x1 bar, so you can be a little more flexible in where you place them.
I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed in Sense - coming from CM10 or another AOSP ROM, I'm feeling clunky and slow... But I have faith in the devs around this place... it's only a matter of time.

Widgetsoid has always been among a favorite of mine, especially given the recent updates. I suggest checking it out.

I don't think any skin will beat aosp in speed. But sense 4+ is a definite improvement over previous sense versions. I agree though that it most likely is just a matter of time before we get some aosp goodness. CM10 on this phone would be ridiculous.
