Looking for a "book cover" case with stand - Shield Tablet Accessories

Hey all. I'm looking for a case for my new Shield K1 and I'm trying to find one similar to the Moko case I bought for my Nook HD+ years ago (http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Slim-Fit...1453869778&sr=8-1&keywords=nook+HD++moko+case). Has anyone found a case like this? If not, what kind of case would you recommend for someone who carries his tablet around like it was a book that also acts as a stand?

I would like to find something that is a cross between what you linked (minus the hand strap) and the fintie smartshell case. Fintie case is great but the design for self standing position is limited and not the sturdiest.

This one is enough for me:
http://www.amazon.com/NVIDIA-SHIELD...8-1&keywords=Infiland+NVIDIA+Shield+Tablet+K1

Not for drop!
I second this case quality is good for the price but you got lest protection on both side ( this doesn't had any drop protection to be careful with it!!)

Bought the Finite case. Looks really nice (sort of "bookish".) Landscape stand works well. Been very happy with this case... http://www.amazon.com/Fintie-NVIDIA...8&sr=8-1&keywords=folio+case+Shield+Tablet+K1

Hello,
Is there something that keeps the cover attached to the back when you use the tablet in Portrait mode? I have a case similar to the one you use for your Nook HD (that I use with my Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4) and I love the little strap that attaches the cover...
Thanks.

That's too bad... Thanks for the reply. I'm giving the K1 to my wife for her birthday, and she will use the tablet on Portrait mode most of the time (she's not a gamer)...

I recommend taking one last look on Amazon and/or eBay just to be sure. If you do find one, please post a link here

I bought the original smart cover from Nvidia, but it is only for the front screen. the back is not protected at all.

Case for tablet and docking keyboard

Hey all,
I found this on amazon. Thought maybe some might be interested. It's a cheap alternative and I've already placed my order for it. 9.58 isn't alot to spend and that's all i figured I'd lose. I ordered the brown one but there's a black one too. Might be a cheaper alternative to the tuf-luv case since some were worried about the bulk. I'll update this once I receive it and give you some pics.
Since it won't allow me to url tags or give out the url, search for Navitech + Asus and you should see what I'm talking about.
Let me know what you think!
This looks JUST like the Elsse Premium Synthetic Leather Case (there's a thread about this elsewhere in this sub forum). They were having a discussion there about whether or not the case would work with the dock as well, and I guess the answer would be yes, if you unfasten the velcro?
Can anybody confirm?
Is this what you mean? Looks good if not a little thick when all combined.
Anxious to hear any reviews.
Yeah...that's what I was talking about...apparently they must have had a huge messup with the price because I got one yesterday for 4.99 + 4.49 shipping....they've sent it and it looks like it's coming from the UK...anyhow...the 4.99 are gone and they've got only the 19.99 left. I'll give a review once I get the case...even if you undo the velcro, you can still to a material store (joanne fabrics, etc.) and get a longer velcro strap to hold it together. Thanks!
Wouldn't the rooCASE Slim work the same way?
http://goo.gl/V0RMe
roocase does not do the samee thing at all; this has a case for the tablet, then also for the docking port and then they finally work together somehow.

Looks like someone gave it 1 star on the Amazon product page. According to the reviewer it does not accommodate a docked tablet too well.

Looks like the reviewer may have a legit point. If you look at the sideways pictures, you can tell the tablet is not docked. The tablet hangs over the edge of the dock by almost an inch. Anybody who has the tablet with the dock knows that when it is closed, there is almost no overhang. I know I won't be buying it.
With that said, if anyone knows of a better case. Even one that would store the dock and tablet separately, I'd like to know about it.
ilgadets,
If you're interested in a sleeve case, I recommend this one:
http://www.overstock.com/Luggage-Bags/Wenger-Swiss-Gear-Legacy-10.2-inch-Tablet-iPad-Netbook-Slimcase/5804731/product.html
It has two zippered pockets, handles, a removable shoulder strap, and pockets on the front and back,
and it fits the Transformer and keyboard dock (separately) perfectly.
The handles can be slipped into the pockets, but that adds "bumps" that I didn't like.
I wanted the thinnest possible case, so I cut off the the handles and the triangular clips for the shoulder strap.
I think this is one of the best solutions for carrying the tablet and keyboard separately.
Regards,
Eric
FWIW - I grabbed one from best buy for an HP Mini 10 and it works perfectly. Fits very snug with the dock, and i feel safe carrying the tab around in it. Also has a zip pouch for a cleaning cloth, HDMI adapter, headphones, and other small items.
Was about $25 iirc... so a little bit more than what you're looking at here.

I have the exact same one, mines black and kinda has a 3D cube kinda pattern on the front. Anyways, I'm an employee, so mine only set me back $7. BBY employee discount is changing though, so that won't be the case in the future.
Anyways, case fits great, holds tab or tab+keyboard excellently.

Are you guys taking about a case or a carrying bag? Unless I'm mistaken, I believe the OP is talking about a folio type case for both the tablet and dock - kind of like this Tuff-Luv combo case.

"Smart Cover" style cases?

I find the smart cover case of my iPad 2 is ideal for typing in "landscape keyboard" mode. I haven't found any cases on eBay etc that do this except some really bulky/fugly ones. Has anyone found anything elegant/thin along the lines of the iPad 2 smart cover yet? I realize the GT7.7 doesn't have the logic to turn off when the cover is closed, I can live without that!
The original Samsung OEM case/cover looks very nice but doesn't seem to stand on its own in landscape keyboard mode

As long as the surface is not overly smooth, the Samsung Original Book Cover case does stand in landscape (thanks to rubber strips that adds friction). See pics. May not *look* especially stable, but it does seem to hold out nicely.
Ironically, I would like to see a case that allows my tab to stand in portrait mode, since I'm more likely to read that way. Never seen one before.
I have a case similar to the official iPad1 case. Very slim and snug fit. Doesn't add much to the size of the device, keeping the original slimness. Its faux leather on the outside and suede cloth inside. It has the same standing mechanism as the iPad1 case too. Comes in a few colours, I got the brown one.
I've been looking for exactly this type of case and was amazed they are made. I believe I can post images now and so I'll put some up later.

A similar one popped up on eBay last night for $25. Seller is in HK of course. What site did you find this on?
Tmall.com taobao.com

that one cost RMB120
I found it at http://www.minihotsale.com/rock-sam...blet-light-cool-folio-leather-case_p1435.html
$35 shipped, not terrible. I like that it doesn't intrude on the bezel the way some of the other folios do.
Thanks cyuet for pointing me in the right direction! Will advise once received.

Thats the one. I personally prefer cases that give all round protection and this case does that. I find cases that only grip the corners can come loose over time, and badly made ones have terrible tolerances and may not even adequetly hold the device.
Thanks

I also think that a case like the smart cover for the ipad2 is ideal for the tab 7.7. I have seen those for the 10.1 and 8.9 on ebay, and I am pretty sure they will pop up for the 7.7 soon.

I just received this case i bought from ebay for the bargain price of £8.99 in the UK and delivered from the UK too.
Very pleased with it! I've tried the official case but this is much better. It even has magnets on the flap to stop it flapping open when carrying.

I have an Barnes and Noble official case called the Tasume cover. It can act as a stand in both portrait and landscape.
The only thing is you'd have to take your NT out of the cover to access the SD card and the microphone.
get the one with a hand strap
I've got «CrazyOnDigital Stand Leather Case with Screen Protector» from amazon, had to make a little hole for the speaker for it to be louder but other than that pretty nice one for little money ($14.85 now)
I use an M-Edge Incline case that I picked up at Best Buy a while back. The feel is really nice and it has a few different positions that you can stand it in. You do have to remove the Nook from the case in order to access the Micro-SD slot.

Works well for me since I can use it as a stand in certain cases and in others like the case of flash video causes the video to turn the wrong way making the stand useless.

I got something similar http://www.ebay.com.sg/itm/300722422070?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 for $10.88. It ships from Hong Kong but I got it within 1 week plus.
The grey is more like brown, and the build quality feels a little cheap, but for this price I'm really satisfied.
Resurrecting a very old thread here....
If I had ESP I would have bought two cases when I got my first Nook Tablet back in the day. What I have is a very sturdy, nice, plain black "leather" case (maybe an Industriell?). I love it. It's made for the NT and holds it securely.
I recently acquired another NT. It came with a very sturdy case (also made for the NT). Someone would probably pay really good money for it but I think it is incredibly ugly. I really don't need to see John Lennon peering out at me every time I pick up the tablet.
I can't seem to find much that is made for the Nook Tablet or Nook Color. B&N has all these pages of stuff that are nothing but dead links. Very little on ebay except for the folding or easel types. Anyone have a lead?
Edit: and the solution was fabric spray paint since this particular case was fabric covered. It took quite a few coats to obliterate Mr. Lennon, and the case was a bit tacky for awhile, but that eventually went away.

Asus VersaSleeve, thoughts?

I'm considering buying this one, because I'm looking for a slim case (tablet only) with some viewing angle stands, and this one looks really nice.
Do anyone of you have it? Would you recommend it? Does the tablet get damaged from the sides?
thanks!
I would recommend this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007P657RI/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01 over the VersaSleeve, I have both and the VersaSleeve is more of a carrying case (for tablet+dock).

Somewhat fits, but don't think it fits properly - read somewhere that the cover doesn't quite properly clip on securely.
Wouldn't go there myself though.

I use the VersaSleeve for a couple of months now, and I think it's great. As said earlier, it really is a 'carrying bag' which also doubles as a stand for the tablet. But if you want to use the tablet, you need to take it out of the 'bag', which is a big advantage for me because I don't want to hold a tablet and extra case, which makes it only heavier and thicker.

I am very happy with the MoKo Flip Stand Cover Case
Here is the one i am using and i just cannot get over how much i freaking love it.. I am beyond impressed. Its 12 bucks.. took about 2~3 weeks to get here. But well worth the wait. My step mom got a case for her Kindle, has the option of putting it up in a prop mode. Like for watching movies. But she paid freaking 30 bucks for it. The quality of my case is (in my mind) better than hers, it has the function to rotate the device to prop it up in landscape or portrait. I cannot explain in words how amazed i am. Prolly the best quality product i have ever gotten from China.

How's the buttons, port and slim case? Does it fits properly?
How's the build quality? Does it leave any mark on the screen when close? I have this case on my kindle and it kinda leave stripe mark due to the fabric from the case but it can be easily removed by wiping and doesn't leave any scratch. I also want this one but items from this area usually takes 2 weeks minimum.
Another thing it looks like it provides 2 viewing angle, on my kindle its only stable when landscape and it falls back when portrait mode especially for lower angle viewing.
would appreciate if you post pic showing the thickness and how it stand for both landscape and portrait in both viewing angle.
I think I will be getting this one especially available in prime
I have the versa sleeve. Got it on samsclub.com for like 12$ thanks to someone here on xda posting the sale!
I like it a lot for my needs. I had a thick poetic case, but it was too bulky. I prefer to use the tablet naked and then have the sleeve to use as a stand/carrying case. It is thick, durable and I don't worry about it when I throw the tablet in my messenger bag. The stylus loop on it is a plus.

Galaxy Tab S4 Case With or Without Magnets (NOT KEYBOARD COVER)

When I was considering buying the S3 and perusing it's forum, I encountered a thread, or threads, that talked about the pro and cons of various cases in respect to magnets contained within them, and potential trouble/interference/distortion of magnets on the screen and S-Pen. So, this is to start a similar discussion on this subject as I have ordered the S4 and will, almost certainly, want to use it with a case of some sort.
I have already ordered the TiMOVO Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 10.5" Case from Amazon https://1n.pm/WDzp1
but wish to see what others are doing/thinking.
I don't that is a bad choice. I like the similarities to my S3 cover. I have the S4 keyboard and it could have been better designed.
UAG case
I'm not really a fan of cases with the flip covers. I was hoping to get something with a kickstand on the back, but most that I found online were flip covers.
I was hoping for a rugged case to come out, but with very limited options I just went to a local gadget store and chose the Urban Armor Gear Exoskeleton 10". The top edges of the screen are slightly covered but with watching movies there's usually a black bar at the top and bottom of the screen so I don't really mind it. The Tab is kind of exposed but there really isn't much bulk when holding it. It has a small kickstand and a slot for the S-pen. It's not perfect but it's working well for me. Amazon has a cheaper price compared to the official UAG website.
I also have the grey model (off-white back) and opted for the black exoskeleton case. I am enjoying the contrast between the tablet and the case.

I have already ordered the TiMOVO Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 10.5" Case from Amazon https://1n.pm/WDzp1
but wish to see what others are doing/thinking.

is what I ordered. A case without the Spen slot is worthless.

To anyone, The s pen is very easy to lose, why would you buy a case that cant hold it?
I picked up the samsung book cover from best buy today(price match amazon $54) seems pretty high quality so far. I wish UAG would make the metropolis case for this tab. That is my favorite tablet case of all time, but seem they only like apple.
I got one from Verizon, it's their brand but it's just like an otter box. No flip cover and surprising thin and nice.

have you had issues with the S-Pen and dead spots on the digitizer with this case?

thanks Scott. that's pretty reassuring, as this case would tick a lot of boxes. the S4 (esp the 256GB / 6GB / LTE version) is so damn expensive (and imported), i need to be careful
have you seen this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ9M9LHphyo
user claims "The magnet effect happens over time, and is likely not reversible. I don't recommend using cases w magnet auto sleep."
Stay original! This is s damn expensive device, especially those of us that got the LTE version from start.
I got the Samsung Book Cover, and gonna buy the keyboard cover if there are any black friday deals out. =)
I like the Infiland case because it has a dedicated slot for the pen as well.

Yes it has! Works 100% of the time. Only minor flaw with tablet is that I often like to have the case in "low profile" and when I am using DEX mode, it wont rotate to fit "low profile".
