[Firmware Needed] Galaxy S4 SCH-I545PP (Verizon Prepaid) - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

I'm in search of firmware for the S4 running 4.3 or 4.4. I haven't gotten this phone yet but verizon is selling it through Walmart on prepaid. I know the firmware isn't gonna be the same as if it was on contract verizon. I have the S3 right now and it's prepaid. Many argued that there wasn't a NF5 firmware but turns out there is and i used it many times to fix soft bricks on the S3 using Odin. So I'm pretty sure the prepaid side of the S4 will have different firmware then one on contract verizon would have. So that being said, does anyone have 4.3,4.4 or even 5.0 firmware they can share that will work with Odin? Not sure if the S4 got the 5.0 update. Just assuming it did. Any help is appreciated!

Anyone? Please?

If no one can then someone at least tell me how it direct me to where I can make a tar or md5 firmware out of adb pulls of the system an stuff?

OK never mind. I need 5.0.1 firmware. Not 4.3 or 4.4. Any help would be great

I can't think of any reason as to why post paid firmware would be different than prepaid. You can use the phone for either.
And you're posting jn the wrong forum, which is probably why nobody is helping you. Because you didn't bother to read the rules before posting.
Try the general section or Android development section. Click the search button and type firmware. I'm sure you'll find it faster than it took you to make all these posts. Good luck

still no help

I think what sob372 was saying is the hardware in the phone is the same as the contract so you can just follow the SCH-I545 stuff and it will work.
being that I just got this same phone S4 prepaid used I'll be playing with it to root it, install safestrap and probably downgrade it from Lollipop to Kitkat. So I'll let you know if you don't find more here by searching and I'm sure there are relevant posts if you dig around a bit.

BTW the S4 PP does have a SIM slot.

It just seems really sketchy to do with the contract firmware. Like I get the feeling that if I flash the firmware from contract, I'll lose any cell phone service under prepaid. I just don't want to end up with a big paper weight. The modules could be different. With the S3 I had which was prepaid also. I used safestrap and superlite rom was the best one I got to work with the prepaid version. The system always kept crashing but it would load if I put it under stock an not a rom slot. I had to get the i535pp module to fix the Wi-Fi problem but if I had no service cause of the sim issue then I didn't want it. Also I'm not sure but I think there is no safe strap for the s4 running lollipop. I believe the forum said it would cause bootloops if you tried. Just like you need to deodex for xposed cause of the changes in art

If you can confirm all is in working order with the contract firmware (can't remember what the build is) with the prepaid phone, I'll give it a go.
Update
A member already tried the OC1 postpaid firmware on the prepaid. They said all works but the camera and charging don't work. So that's out of the question

I been looking around on the net and best I've come up with is backing up the firmware. I tried using flash fire to get back ups of every partition. Then I used Odin package creator to try an make a firmware file to use with Odin but when I tried it out in Odin, it stopped at data so I took out my personal data then it stopped at something with number 3 at the end. Can't recall what it was. So if anyone can test more on this to have any luck. Maybe then we can get the firmware out to people in case sammobile decides not to or takes another year to release it

I've been trying a different approach to getting a copy of the OH7 firmware. I've been attempting to use Fiddler4 + the Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant tool that comes on my phone (Verizon Prepaid Galaxy S4 model SCHI-545KPP) to get a download link to the original rom file... I can't get the bloody link to download with Fiddler or an internet browser, as i get a 403 forbidden error. I'll keep trying, maybe I can find the downloaded file in my temp files while attempting to recover my phone? It will take some time but I'll keep trying.

*update* So I located where the Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant stores its files (compressed and extracted). The location is C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Verizon_AR .
I unfortionally didn't figure this out until after I royally soft bricked my phone. Right now I have a OF1 recovery installed on the phone, and the assistant keeps trying to install the OF1 firmware (and it fails). If anyone could check that folder for the OH7 firmware, or post a backup of the OH7 recovery, you'd be doing me a huge favor. I think we'll have the OH7 firmware after this one way or another.
*edit* This is 100% confirmed now. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Verizon_AR\SCH-I545_I545VRUGOF1_FACTORY\decrypt produced a zip file that is 100% identical to the OF1 firmware zips out there. This decrypt subfolder didn't appear until after the file was completely downloaded, and the Software Repair Assistant had started to try and flash the rom. This data is deleted after the phone completes flashing (or fails to flash). If you select "delete" after this information is downloaded, the encypted rom file is deleted and you must start all over again.
If someone could check that folder who has used the Verizon Wireless Software Upgrade Assistant to recover their phone, using the tool on your phone again and you'll get the decrypt folder... if you zip/rar that folder, we'll finally have the backup files we can post somewhere.

the PP phone uses the same firmware as the normal one that guy that tried it
did something wrong
just flash the OF1 tar via odin and be done with it

I'm trying out your idea. If i can get the file them I'll upload it. If not, I'll still be able to at least send you a back up of the oh7 recovery. Mines all still stock. Id hate to get stuck with a paperweight until the correct firmware is released. That's why I'm careful lol. The firmware is downloading right now. It says it's a enc4 file though. Maybe just cause its downloading at the moment. I'll just wait an see an I'll let you know

Yes, while it is downloading it will be a .enc4 file. Even after downloading it will stay like that, but when you got to actually flash the file, it will decrypt and the encrypted version will appear in that /decrypt folder.

so im confused. do i need the encrypted or decrypted file for it to work with odin? i tried changing the file to zip format and open it with winrar after it downloaded in the software but it came up as an unknown archive or damaged. so im not sure what im doing wrong but ill keep trying
UPDATE: i have tried getting the file through verizons handy tool and i did get the decrypted folder along with the unzip folder during it was finishing up repairing my s4. i just copied the file from the decrypted folder and extracted it during the repair. so now im using odin 3.10.7 and testing it out now to see if it will flash successfully. if all goes well, i will make new thread with the firmware link inside it so users dont need to scroll through pages to find the link. first anyone know a good or popular upload storage i can use to upload the firmware to for others to use? i tried uploading onto here but i keep getting a connection timeout
UPDATE 2: ive got it! i made the firmware of OH7! finally. you can go ahead and head over to this thread TheXev. use it and youll be back to stock

Thank you so much. I was close to taking this phone back and not getting another simply because I really need a phone to replace my S3 for tethering soon. But if you got the firmware, I can flash it back to working order, and hopefully get some deodexed roms (that way I can install Xposed framework). Thanks again!

[Q] Getting SGS2 back to stock (Optus) - Help!

Hi guys.
My phone has been having major signal issues, no signal or emergency calls only next to an exact same phone that has no problem. Talking to my provider, it appears to be the phone and I need to send it back for repair. Problem is, I have a different firmware on there. I obviously need to get it back to the stock optus rom it came with. I know computers and stuff, but im a bit lost in this area. I've done a lot of searching on here but can't seem to find a specific resolve to this issue.
I'll try and sum it up.
Currently running Litening Rom 5, which i flashed with odin. I found on here the link for the original optus branded rom (GT-I9100_OPS_I9100XWKE7_I9100XXKE4_I9100OPSKE4) but after downloading it I'm more lost. The 7zip file had the following files in it:
boot.bin, cache.img, factoryfs.img, hidden.img, modem.bin, param.lfs, sbl.bin and zimage.
I have no idea what to do with these. I've also read that CWM is another possible way to do all this. My rom has it so that might be possible. I'm not fussed about keeping any files, I was gonna do a factory reset before I send it away anyway. I wanna completely wipe my phone and get it back to exactly how it was, so when optus look at it, its how they sent it to me, especially with no yellow triangle on boot.
What should I do with these files? The other option I have is if I can get the rom dumped off a friends optus phone and simply put it onto mine. I know 2 friends with them, can I plug their phone into my PC and use the dump button in odin, or will I get the same files?
Other question I have are:
1) Will Optus know what version of the firmware came on the phone (XXKE7 or whatever) and therefore realise a possible older version is on there, causing suspicion?
2) Is it possible that custom firmwares can screw up my reception? Friends are running stock and they have no issue, though saying that, its still not as good signal as a Nokia.
If you've read this far, thank you very much, I really appreciate it. I'm just so lost, freaking out a bit, going a bit insane with the phone constantly not having signal and just low on time to sort it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
Hi.
First off, if you're already down to the .bin and .img files, you extracted too much.
The archive you downloaded should contain a .tar file - DO NOT extract this one! You need the .tar as .tar.
Then download an App called "Odin" (likely to be found in the very same thread where you found the firmware) and use that one to flash the .tar onto the phone.
Instructions for that are also in the thread where you found the firmware.
That should already solve most of your hazzle.
If I'm not mistaken, flashing your phone's kernel would case
Cause the binary flash counter to clock. And the phone does keep a record of how many custom kernels you have been through. So I would say if they wanted to know, they would be able to find out.
In that case, spend the 5 to 10 bucks on eBay for the USB jig that resets the counter.
I have one too, "works nicely" is an understatement
HellcatDroid:
The one file I downloaded was a 7zip compressed exe. When I extracted that, I got the listed files, there was never a .tar file.
I had no idea about the kernel flash counter, but it sounds like it could be an issue. I saw those USB jigs, but though they were just a way to get into downloading mode if you'd somehow screwed up the normal way. Is that all they do, or much more?

You know what would be awesome? If you explained why. I have no idea why I'm doing it wrong. Did I download the wrong file? (didn't have many options). Or would it be better to get a dump from a friends phone that has the desired rom/kernel?
How do I know why you're doing it wrong? The files are self extracting, all you need to do is double click it and point to when you want the included tarball extracted. You will then have a single tarball which includes everything in a single package. This has all been covered in the tutorial.
The file was a compressed exe, I dont think loading it on as a rom would have worked. Though when I extracted that (self extracting exe), I ended up with all the seperate files, there was never a .tar.
Is it safe to simply put those files into a .tar file with winrar? Is that all it is? Or will I risk bricking my phone? I had a look in the tutorials but couldn't see anything about it.
Thanks

Where did you get the file from? Optus firmwares are in the carrier branded firmware thread in the dev forum so you can download a copy from there.
I grabbed the exe from your other thread, it had 5 different links and only 1 worked at the time.
But you know the worst part? I just figured it out. The exe extracted a .tar file, but in my rushing and stressed-ness, i didn't realise that was the one, it was a winrar file so i just thought it was compressed or something, like a zip.
My bad. I wont be flashing just yet, gonna replace my sim card first. I got used to the idea of wiping my phone and starting again, but now I realised how annoying that would be. Bought a USB jig too, just in case.
Appreciate your help, sorrying for being a n00b!

[GUIDE][E970]Using LG Flash Tool To Flash .tot Files {Alternate To LGNPST}[WIP]

Code:
Neither Me Nor XDA Are Responsible If You Lose Your Job/Break Your Device.
Your Warranty Is Now Void
Downloads :
WIP
Instructions :
Extract The .rar
Open The Setup File And Install LG Flashtool
Right Click On The Shortcut Created On Your Desktop And Open File Location.
Copy The .dll Files From The DLL Folder To The Previously Opened Location And Replace The .dll In Flash Tool Folder If Any.
Open The Flashtool,Select The .dll Then The .tot/.bin File And You Are Ready To Flash The Firmware,Connect The Phone In Download Mode When Asked.
Note :
I Don't Know Whether It Works For N4 Converted Devices.I Had Successfully Flashed Stock .20 .bin File With It.But I Suggest To Use This Only When LGNPST Does Not Work/Fails To Flash The FW As For Me.Please Don't Perform Unwanted Experiments With Your Device Or It Will Result In A Hard Brick.
This Guide Was Originally Created By madmack @ Optimus G Pro Section So Thanks To Him.
I was Searching For The .dll File For Our Device And Found It So Decided To Create A Thread. And Those Who Are Thinking That The Required .dll Is The Same That We Use For LGNPST,NO,This Is A Different .dll
It Did Not Ask For Unlock Code When I Flashed The Stock JB FW.But As Posted By madmack there is A Possibility That It Can Ask For Your Unlock Code.So Proceed With Caution.
Again This Is A Alternate To LGNPST And Only I Have Successfully Flashed The Stock FW.It Is Recommended That Unless It Is Tested By 4-5 Experienced Users,Its A No Go For Noobs/New Users.
And Be Advised That This Process Will Wipe Your Internal Storage.
Enjoy!

Thanks for sharing.
Edit: There are many more things to do in his (madmack) thread... Did u follow them all? Or for us we do not need all those steps? Let us know before someone bricks.. I use LGNPST but if anyone tries this.. at least they have a better understanding. thanks again for sharing.
just a heads up.. TeenyBin does not work in LG Flash. There are extra CRC checks which I haven't been able to bypass yet. This may change in the future.
also, not sure if this version of LG Flash is same as the newer one I use but I have to set the COM port to 40+ for LG flash to see my device.. altho maybe I'm missing something. I have to go into windows device manager and manually change the COM port used for the phone ( its in properties ).
LG Flash is no better or worse than LGNPST in my opinion. On the plus side.. there's no dll to register... and options are good

Which .TOT and .DLL files will you be providing? I need the .DLL and .TOT file for, of course, the AT&T Optimus G E-970 US version! I flashed my wifes phone cause it boot looped and the .TOT used was SUPPOSED to be this file but it is the Korean FW. Now my wifes phone will not update via OTA because it changed her IMEI number. I need to get her phone back to stock 4.1.2 US VERSION!

Here is the file you need to get her phone back to STOCK U.S: http://downloads.codefi.re/g33k3r/LGE970AT-01-V20j-310-410-MAR-08-2013.zip I'm not sure on the DLL file, I use LGNPST so not sure if they are the same but attached it also just incase you can use it.. stock firmware file above is a .tot file so if you need to you can just change it to .bin if you need to.
Thank you blake but no. That is the fw file that turned her phone Korean. So may people are under the impression this is the stock US fw but it isn't. I even had another person here check their phone and his too in fact says "Lg Electronics Korea".

Where do you go check to see if its U.S or Korean?
All settings--> about phone -->phone Identity.
It's under settings-->about phone-->phone identity.
I had another person tell me that's normal because it's only the "manufacturer" info. Which im told this phone is manufactured in Korea. I don't know. All I do know is everyone is saying this is the stock fw for this phone but my wifes phone has changed. The start up screen is different and so is the shut down screen. Example, when her phone would shut down, she would get the AT&T logo and sound. After flashing this file she gets the blue circle and no sound. I do know that 4.1.2 is different depending on the region the phone is in. I don't know anything else that would explain this. Maybe this FW file WAS a different region but it was stripped out and converted somehow?

After a little checking I found out the same thing, It was normal as it was the place of manufacturer. I'm not sure what the problem might be but as far as I know that's the stock firmware for the phone.. You might try this one out http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=22901594685177912 you just boot into recovery do the normal wipes and flash through recovery, its supposed to be stock except for being rooted and as far as I know those are the only two stock files floating around for the phone...
Thanks Blake. Can you confirm for me that this phone will NOT get OTA updates if it's changed in any way, including rooting? It's what I was told by someone else. If that's the case then I guess there really is nothing wrong with the phone except those weird unexplained small changes.
I've got all the correct files download and I made it so far as to try to actually flash the phone, but it fails and gives me a wrong model number message because it's detecting my phone as a E960 (it's an E970). Any ideas? I had installed the latest CM11 ROM over some encrypted data and now I'm locked out (old encryption PIN doesn't work) and I can't restore it to stock.
can someone help me with a .tot or .bin stock for lg l70 d320n? cuz i"ve looked for it everywhere but couldn"t find anything
need help bad.
i got this phone from a friend and it originally had cm11 on it. the phone in question is the lg e970. i wanted to get back to stock. so i downloaded the correct firmware and added it to my external sd card. using twrp before i proceeded to wipe the phone via twrp. when it was finished i restarted the phone into twrp and went to install the stock firmware and i could not find my exsd card. twrp does not recognize it at all. so now im stuck with a phone with no os on it. i can ge into twrp and download mode, and when i just boot the phone it goes to lg logo and stays there. i need help in trying to figure out how to get stock firmware back on phone. i am used to samsung phones and odin. so im a noob when it comes to lg. i am very tech savy when it comes to computers. plzzzzzz any help would be great!!!!!!!! and appreciated
I can not add .tot file in LG flash tool
I have unrooted my lg g3 before on another computer. But i can't add the .tot file with my new computer. I am doing everything the same.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Is it possible to flash stock ROM on Consumer Cellular Variants ?

Hello,
It seems that many of HAM2 users have the consumer cellular variant and are irked by several modifications done on the stock ROM that one gets when he buys the phone unlocked. Many of us, including myself, would like to flash the stock ROM if possible but maybe are not brave enough to try .
Someone uploaded several versions of different ROMS on https://drive.google.com/folderview?...0&usp=sharing. So, the question is can we flash any of these ROMS on our consumer cellular variant and if so, how ? I used to have a samsung galaxy young and flash different countries ROM using ODIN so many times that I can't remember how much. I tried that because it was confirmed to work. So, can the same be done on our HAM2 ?
Thanks.

The 126 firmware in that folder is the original firmware that came on the consumer cellular version. The problem with flashing the complete 148 firmware is inside udate.app file there is a file named oem_verlist.img. The is a partition in the root directory of the phone for that img file to be flashed. when you go to update with the 148 firmware that img file realizes that it does not match the phone that you are trying to flash to and bring up a error and fails. I have tried to fastboot that img file to its partition but it will not go. Maybe I am using the wrong parition name but with out updating that partition before trying to flash it will fail.

When you say "update", do you mean clearing the OS and installing a new one from scratch ? Does that mean after the update all the consumer cellular additions will go away and there will be no trace of it ?
If updating seems difficult now for the consumer cellular versions, what will we do when they release Lollipop ?
If they do not release a cc version then I would have to extract the OEM update.app file from the huawei site to all the IMG files and fastboot flash one at a time(force flash if you want to call it). Inside the update file there will be a system.IMG, data.IMG, cache.IMG,etc

Assuming they release the CC version of lollipop, will there be any problem if some of the system files have been changed? For example, I've deleted some system apps that I never use and changed the boot- and flash-screen files. Will the update fail because of that ? I'm asking this because I saw a video made by one of the forum members here when he was trying to install the v148 update. He had to uninstall everything and return the system to default before updating. If that is so, then I guess no Lollipop crying::crying for me !!
Given that Lollipop is still some months away and the lack of any meaningful activity on the HAM2, why don't we prepare our HAM2 for who-knows-what. I'd like to get a grip on a my phone now instead of getting swamped by error messages when Lollipop gets released or we get custom firmware.
There's this thread [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315547] which explains how to extract the individual image files from the huawei update app.
Do you have the CC version of HAM2 ? If so, will you be trying to flash the image files because extracting the image files seem straight-forward ? I'm actually a bit nervous doing it myself because I've always flashed my other devices when it has been confirmed to work. What I'm wary of is I'm not sure that the device software in the v148 update app is 100% compatible with the CC variant that I own ! How can one be sure of that ?
I've downloaded v148 update file and extracted the files you mentioned. Instead of taking screenshots of the contents of the image files, I've recorded a small video. I can see the boot.img and system.img but no recovery.img. There are also other files. Take a look at the video. The question now is what to do with these files and more importantly what are my chances of unbricking the phone if it bricks !!
It will not fail because of boot animation and splash screen change. It will fail because of missing system apps. You would need to reinstall those if the package comes as a upgrade but if it is a full download then your OK.
Dealing with extracting the files from the update.app just search for my post, I have a complete instruction guide.

Have you seen the video I uploaded ? Is it the "full download"? Can I flash it ? Will the phone brick ?
I read your posts on the subject. But it seems you have changed some system apps and the camera is not working as it should. I have already downloaded the 148 file and extracted the system.img and boot.img files. Can I flash these or do I have to use the files you uploaded on google drive ?
The question is why didn't you use the v148 stock ? I already have the v148 stock. Will it brick my phone if I flash the image files ? If not, why did you have to add extra files there such that the camera is 8MP instead of 13MP. Also, why is the hotspot always enabled ? Is that the case with people with the original stock ?
Man, I'm still waiting for your reply !

My understanding is it is possible to flash to stock if your bootloader is unlocked and have TWRP installed. Then its as simple as flashing a backup from a matching model with stock frimware. For whatever reason mtyler7807 is trying to reinvent the wheel.

"For whatever reason mtyler7807 is trying to reinvent the wheel", Ha Ha. I spent about 2 weeks working on this phone when I first got it. With this phone it has more partitions than what is included in the backup with TWRP. TWRP is made for backup and restoring the files that get changed, the other partitions don't change. So when I first started experimenting with this phone I got a full 148 backup with no data and installed it. I had problems, the custom.bin points to a different cust/us/ folder (because it is for a different carrier) , I had to rename that folder and found I have no more 4glte only H/H+, So I had to get the original cust folder from the guy and copy it to the phone. Still and only H/H+. It was okay for then because I testing. Next Viewed my system specs and saw that pretty much half half phone was 148 and the other half was 132.
I have Redone my complete back since I posted the last one with google camera with 13mp support( rather have border transparency). I made a post asking people summit backups. You have to do a little research, did my research and got help from the forum guys. If you want 148 on your CC version you will have to extract the update and fastboot img files (ex.fastboot flash system system.img). The name of the file is the partition name.
From my understanding twrp does a nand backup. Which is more like an image of nand. So restoring an image from a stock phone would also give you the stock partition table no?
It has been a while since ive played with android on such a low level. When it came time to update my HP Touchpad to JB i had to manually create the partition table manually to make it fit. Eventually a script was created that automatically made the changes to the file system. Perhaps a solution along those lines could be useful in getting the stuck firmware on the CC phones? The file system would only need to be created on initial flash to the stock firmware.
mtyler7807, I've been trying to get an answer since I first created this thread. The only reason I want to install the original huawei stock instead of the cc version is because I want to be able to download and install updates just like regular stock huawei HAM2 users instead of waiting for the CC version. So, please can you answer these questions :
1. If I follow your steps and use the image files you uploaded, will I get rid of CC completely meaning will my phone be just like a stock HAM2 phone from Huawei ?
2. Can I install Huawei updates directly, instead of having to do what you did (extracting the image files and the rest of the process).
3. If the answers to the above questions is no and no, then whats the point of installing your images files (apart from getting the hotspot which I don't use) ?
Please answer these questions unambiguously so that I and others will get a clear understanding of the reasons to flash the image files you uploaded. In doing so, people will stop creating these threads asking boundless questions.
Thanks.

Here is what k2thejx5 said after flashing a backup from a stock phone.

What's weird is when I flashed the stock file and tried to upgrade, it wouldn't work. The kernels were different so I had to go back to stock consumer rom. Also, while using the rom you posted.. I lost my toggles and had to use a different app. What also was very weird, after flashing back to the stock consumer rom, I had tethering! Don't get it lol.

-Do what I did makes your phone a complete oem, All that is need to be done is to flash a splash screen.
-How would I know if updates will work since 148 is the latest version for oem, can't test that tell lollipop.
-I'm not pushing anyone to install my image, I got about 30 pm's to post my recovery to enable hotspot and to get those toggles backup at the top. Alot of people messed up and lost them flashing that original twrp recovery under developer. Alot of others wanted the hotspot without the head ache of going through the research.
And for the people with problems with there phone that want 148 and updates with no problems, You should have brought a OEM and stayed away from sears or target or took it back to the store if you were not ready to take on the challenge of fabbing up your phone. Or just deal with the factory image and hope for lollipop.

Me and k2thejx5 was trying to fix the problem with the twrp recovery originally posted on this site. That one is not mine. Read the post. That firmware took our toogles away. You have to read this forum a little more.
Ok man, thanks for the reply. Two last question:
-For as long as you've been using your phone with your image files, have you been noticing problems like "unexpected crashes", trying to launch something and its unresponsive lie APN
-Is this the latest file you recommend : [https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwnSk8BOQp3wV0JMWnJGc3RBTzQ/view]
Thanks.
I have to make another one. I created a new one with epic browser and 360 deg rotation. And I added Camera JB+. Thats the best camera add out there to me, looks just like google 5 camera. I can post image of this new one. I'll Back up my phone and clear the cache and restore it with no data so none of my info will be saved that belongs to me. then i'll setup up the phone and back it up and post.

At&t Samsung Galaxy Go Prime SM-G530A Links to all firmware files + Root Success

The Samsung Galaxy Go Prime or SM-G530A is an AT&T Go Phone that is specific to being sold at WalMart.
In researching the phones FCC ID# I noticed that this the same phone as the SM-G530AZ or the one sold by Cricket Wireless.
First up are all the required files:
Firmware MediaFire
NV Data Mega NZ
QCN File Mega NZ
PIT File Mega NZ
BL+CP+CSC Mega NZ
Stock Kernel Mega NZ
I have successfully rooted the SM-G530A using KingRoot APK v4.62, I then installed the Flashify APK, and flashed the original Stock Kernel. (File must be unzipped and loaded as "Boot.img") After and only after that was done I was able to successfully restart the phone.
NOTE: Failure to re-flash the stock Kernel will result in a "seandroid" boot error.
Should you find yourself with the "seandroid" boot error simply install the stock Kernel through your PC with Odin.
Optional for Root:
I was able to successfully switch from KingoRoot to SuperSU with the Super-SumePro APK in the Google Play store. ($3.99 is well worth it! + your supporting good developers)
Here is a list of the required factory files:
ALL_ATT_G530AUCU4AOI7_G530AATT4AOI7_CL828509_QB6433914_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 1.61 GB

So, was this for 5.1.1?
Anyways, successfully rooted 5.1.1 with this method, but now wifi is not turning on. may have to reflash with kies unless there is a fix for this.

I am not sure the root binary is specific to any firmware however, if something should go wrong you now have all the original files.
No phone wifi issues on my end.. I use a newer Netgear AC wifi however, I do know that older Linksys N wifi made allot of my 4.4.4 and above phones go crazy.

I'm not talking about wifi signal, wifi will not turn on period. I go into setting and tried to toggle on wifi, button would go to on, then right back off. I have even tried running the service through adb and terminal. wifi will just not turn on. I already updated with kies, may try again after a few days.
Same here can't toggle wifi on. Tried it on SM-G530AZ (Cricket) 5.1.1. Rooted with kingroot, used flashify, flashed stock kernel, restarted everything expect wifi. Please fix. Amazing work.

Nevermind I got it working flashed my 5.1.1 boot.img (stock kernel) I extracted from .tar. wifi now working and root. Thanks again
Hmm, seems there are two different links to stock kernel listed in op. one is for stock_kernel_by_911.img and the other is stock_kernel_by_911.tar. Son is at work, so when he gets home tonight, I will try the extracted img from the tar and see what happens. Will report back with results.
Edit: After flashing the right boot.img all is fine. So, you MUST make sure you dl the boot.img that's in stock_kernel_by_911.tar, extract it and flash with Flashify.
Can someone tell me if that firmware link could get me back to 4.4.4, please?

Those are the factory installed files for 5.1.1 with the SM-G530A AT&T variant you would need the original release firmware for SM-G530AZ from Cricket.
If you can locate the original files they would be either
The whole package:
ALL_AIO_G530AZTUU3AOF5_G530AZAIO3AOF5_CL419809_QB5874412_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 1.03 GB
or individual files..
AP_G530AZTUU3AOF5_CL419809_QB5874412_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 978.92 MB
BL_G530AZTUU3AOF5_CL419809_QB5874412_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 9.27 MB
CP_G530AZTUU3AOF5_CL419809_QB5874412_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 46.34 MB
CSC_AIO_G530AZAIO3AOF5_CL419809_QB5874412_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5 17.24 MB
I have not been able to locate them other than for purchase through DLGSM http://www.dlgsm.com, and even then I had no luck in establishing a premium account with them.

Yes its a great phone for the money. The root discovery for this model is currently less than a month old, so not likely.

I'm sorry but, I haven't found a solid answer to the question of will this work with the updated 5.1.1?
If not, where can I find the stock kit kat Cricket rom?
Thank you!
-it'll root but you lose WiFi-Sadness-restored with kies 3 worked.
Does someone have a stock SM-G530AZ Kitkat rom that is flashable via Odin? ...and will it overwrite the current 5.1.1?
Thank you for your time.
To give you a solid answer... Yes allot of people have the stock firmware but you most likely won't find it here. Try asking around where I found the stock files (link is in the first post). Save yourself and don't ask them for a "kit kat rom".. Ask about the specific firmware or file name for your phone.. You can flash back, but you better ready and have a solid understanding on how to reflash everything including re-initiating the radios, and security. (The process is detailed on the site where I got the files). Most of the people on that site use special hardware or "boxes" to extract the files, or pay a vendor for the OEM files. So don't be surprised if someone chooses not to share the files.. (I also listed a place to buy the files in the first post). Good Luck.

Hey what exactly did you flash to get the wifi working again ? I am now without mine i also have the cricket version. I extracted the boot.img file from stock_kernel_by_911.tar with flashify as described, I am thinking you did something a bit different?
Hey I'm trying to figure out exactly how to do this without breaking my phone.... can tell me if this sounds right for my SM-G530A? First I DL KingRoot v4.62 'one click root' APK, and use to root phone. Then, before rebooting, I use flashify to flash The 'Stock kernal' after extracting to boot.img.... My Question is after extracting the BL... , CSC... , and CP..., .md5 files what do I do with them? any help would be great....-Thanks

hey bro i just got it today at cricket store for like 79 bucks right now, the root will work, but gotta make sure you have the right boot.img to flash or wifi will not come on, also i tried to flash a custom recovery that a friend is working on just to see if it would work at all and i got the same dumbass fail that rooting would give about custom software that is not allowed blah blah blah, so if anyone else has this issue after testing a recovery or the likes i wanted to post something that will save your butt in the event you flash a recovery to test and it happens to you as well then you need to download
HTML:
https://mega.nz/#!ARhVBZTI!H5c9vf4yBszjbd94V6rBSoT7xjVy2X42EL0oFSVDZAI
then reboot your phone to download mode by holding power with vol down and home button then when you get prompt press vol up now in dl mode plug up to your usb on pc and with odin click the pda button and select the file you just downloaded with pda checked now press start let it flash and if successful you will get the device to reboot again just remember this only fixes you if you flashed a bad recovery or your testing recoveries and they throw the error. I just posted this in hopes of saving someone else a little time from repacking the backup recovery.img to tar.md5 as that is how it has to be for odin to read it as dumb as that is.
So, I used this guide to root my dad's Go Prime, SM-G530A , and I ran into issues such as, Wifi not wrong after which I fixed using Odin and the stock kernel image, getting alot of "Unfortunately, App has stopped." like the Google Play store, contacts and more, and finally, Kingroot rooted the phone once for two or three reboots and then root was gone after that plus don't suggest reinstalling KingRoot because adb install gives this error "install_failed_missing_shared_library".
Now what do I do now? Odin flash the files, if so, In what order, new odin's tabs are different like BL, AP, CP,CSC , and UMS.
EDIT: Alright, I looked at the files and the beginning of the files show CL, CSC, AP and BL but what about UMS and what do you do with these files?

[Request] Galaxy S4 Firmware I545PP (prepaid) (Closed)

I just got the S4 for Verizon prepaid. It came pre-installed with lollipop 5.0.1. I do enjoy tinkering and getting the most out of android, even if making the best of it beings verizon loves to lock stuff up. So before I start any tweaking, I don't want to end up with a soft brick so I want to be cautious and have something to fall back on which would be the firmware I can load back into the phone via Odin. So if anything bad cones I'm covered. No idea how many times the firmware for my prepaid s3 saved my phone lol. So it is needed but unfortunately prepaid firmware seems harder to get.
The firmware or build im exactly after is...i545ppvruaoh7 with kernel September 7 2015. (Not sure if that part matters) any help is appreciated. I seem to have posted this in the wrong section before. I was told to post here but if I'm wrong to post in this section then let me know. Thanks
Still no help?
I'm kinda in the same boat with a Verizon prepaid i545ppvruaoh7. I tried a few ways to root (downgrade to OC1 etc..) but wasn't able to get root until I used Kingroot. Now I am rooted, uninstalled Kingroot and installed Supersu. Root is working still but my Camera isn't working, my wifi passwords won't stick after reboot, and I get a security notification every few minutes. Seems like I need to be back on my original Kernel, which I didn't make a backup of to make everything OK again. Firmware for our I545ppvruaoh7 would fix my problems.
Sorry this doesn't help you @bjf189, but if I can find the firmware I will reply back to here.

I have a few firmware sites bookmarked. Some have firmware for the prepaid s3 so I'm hoping in time they will have the s4 firmware as well. I don't understand why you had to downgrade your kernel though. I'm not real fond of how kernels work but I left it all alone. Didn't downgrade anything. Used king root to root. It said it wouldn't root but still I continued and it rooted. I removed all bloatware and adjusted a few things with pimp my rom. That's about it. I wanted to install safestrap but I see warnings that it don't work on 5.0 lollipop. So I'm avoiding that until firmware is released cause I'm not using that app flashfire being you have to be able to boot into system to use the app to do anything. Just to risky for me. As for your Wi-Fi problems I'm betting it's your kernel. Being the firmware is different, the kernel your looking for or suppose to have for the firmware isn't out yet. I'd give you my stock kernel that came with mine but not sure how you could flash a raw dump
I was able to reinstall my firmware for our i545ppvruaoh7 (with kernel September 7 2015) by using KIES. http://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/app/kies
My phone is now exactly like it was when I un-boxed it. No root but everything is working again!

[/COLOR]I have exactly this same phone and exactly the same issues. I went to the OC1 firmware via Odin a couple times fooling around. Got Rooted. But Charger and Camera went Adios.
Recovery is simple. Inside your Phone in a hidden Partition. It is the Verizon Diagnostic Utilities. When you first plug your phone into a USB you will see the 4 or 5 files.
Run the Application. It will install into your PC. Then with a good internet connection. Run the "Repair" module. It has a nice backup feature. Presto in 45 minutes your back
to "Bone Stock". Root is gone but your fully recovered.
OK now the good news. You want root on your PP version of the Verizon S4. Its available NOW. It can be done with a little skill
1. Download the King Root apk. build 4.8 10523. It's dated 2/4/2016. At first it sez not available for root. Then hit the try anyway. Download Root Checker. Confirm Root.
2. Get the King SU Un- installed. Go Here. http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2015/05/How-to-Remove-Replace-KingUser-KingRoot-with-SuperSU.html
3. Download ES File Explorer, Terminal Emulator, and the enclosed Patch on the link above.
4. Follow the directions on the link.
5. You need to Unzip the Patch from wolfdroid into the correct directory. /sdcard/mrw/. Use ES File explorer for that
6. Run the emulator. Type SU to get to the root.
7. Then run the Patch/ batch command. sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh
That will clean up the KingrootSU and some of the garbage files it leaves behind.
The Super SU will work and you can de-install anything KingRoot still on your phone at this point.
I have loaded Titanium and frozen my Bloat. Loaded my apps with Link2D so I can put them on my sd card. You need to Partition your SD drive correctly.
Using it for a few days now and its flawless. Everything works. Nice speed and full root. No ROM attempts yet. I will back it all up and try in a few weeks.
But have no fear. Your S4 PP Verizon OH7 is recoverable from the process above. No KNOX trip either.

I've known this but thanks for the tip. I already rooted using that method. I can't rely on that tool to fix a possible screw up. I messed something up on my s3 when I had it. Tried that same tool and it wouldn't go past 51% it kept crashing. So I'm not looking for any other method then the firmware to use in Odin but still thanks guys

I have the Verizon S4 used the forum for
Wander share on PC downgraded kernel to oc1 to root and flashed of1 using Odin 3.07 the kernel flash took care of the security warning . Then I downloaded Stanglte non mdk oc1 of rom plus WiFi fix and beta super user zips kladhed with flash fire and I'm cooking however this is the only firm ware I have found working .
I'm still having no luck finding the oh7 firmware :/
Question. Why do you need the Firmware ? I have a Request in for it with SamMobil. Just to have the file. It will come in time. I reset my PP version with the Internal tool that's on the Hidden partition on your phone. You will see it when you first plug in the phone via usb and look at windows file explorer. It will time out after a minute or so then show you the contents in your phones file system.. Yes USB Debugging must be on. That will program when loaded on your PC will reload the original Firmware File completely. Phone will be BONE STOCK. I used it 4 times on my phone. Are you just attempting to root ? Mine sure is working good rooted. Camera, Network, Everything perfectly and I am rooted via Kingroot. Going back to OC1 will not work with this Variant. The reason the program would hang is PC or Network related. I am a windows Expert. Nothing wrong with that program. It will pick up where it left off too. Its very well written.

Sorry for the late reply. I never got an email saying you replied. I was just letting time pass and check time to time for the firmware. Anyways, I need the firmware as a safe resort. I'm also rooted with king root. King root does wonders lol. I refuse to do any modding or tinkering until I have the firmware cause if anything goes wrong, and I don't have the firmware then it's a higher chance of my phone not working and thus service days wasted. After getting the firmware, I'm looking to deodex and get xposed to work but before taking any of those steps, I wanna play it safe and cautious. Just cause it works for others, don't mean it's 100% to work for me. So that's why it's important for me to get the firmware for this phone. So as soon as sammobile releases that firmware to you or the public, can you link it on here for me? I'd greatly appreciate it
any one have any info on the firmware as of yet?

i found this site that only has it. think its legit? http://www.samsung-file.com/index.p...es)/Model_I/I545PP_(SCH-I545PP)/I545PPVRUAOH7
I saw that site. Wanted a big subscription fee as I recall. Sam Mobil will have it in due time. And I can reload with the Verizon Tools. So its built into that.

im glad others can have the tools from Verizon to fall back on but i dont feel entirely safe about tinkering until i have that firmware. i had the S3 on prepaid and postpaid and prepaid had different firmwares so if anything is mistaked in between, im screwed. im looking at deodexing my stock rom after getting the firmware though so i can run xposed. im assuming im going to need to deodex it myself some way beings everyone who deodexed it before was on postpaid firmware. i just wish that sammobile would release it more quickly so i can start customizing and such. ive tried other prepaid firmware sites as well and put in requests for the specific firmware but not any replies on that as of yet. i do appreciate that you are keeping me up to date. thank you.
Any firmware come up yet for this? I've got nothing
Still looking?
I recently just go the phone as well and was successfully rooted with King. Every forum I found allows Custom Rom on the older variants of this model but not the PP, any luck yet?

Thanks
