Removing TWRP, or stock android ROM - HTC Desire 610

Im giving my HTC Desire 610 to a family member, but want to remove everything from the phone. i have unrooted the phone, and tried to update to the newest android, but when the phone reboots, it comes up with TWRP. Is there a way to remove TWRP, and replace it with just the stock recovery, and so everything would be as if it was fresh out of the box?

Well, first, re-root it. Then download the stock recovery.img file and download flashify, install the stock recovery.img through flashify. Then, delete the supersu ask from your system apps folder and/ or your data apps using a file explorer, then in a file explorer again go to system/ xbin and delete the su file, and then you will have uninstalled twrp and root

SuperUser: Flash or install from Play Store?

Hi all. As flashing SuperUser via CWM doesn't give an uninstall option, would it be better to install
it from the Play Store, or is flashing better for some reason.
Thanks.
I think flashing is better because:when you root your Tab,in addition to Superuser you inject a file named "su" in the folder "bin" of your OS,but if you install Superuser you must put that file there manually...but there is a way:in the flash able zip remove the Superuser APP,and after flashing install Superuser or SuperSU according to your OS.

Thank you.
I flashed CWM, and then installed SuperUser via Play, but it didn't work. I didn't know about the "su" file.
So I uninstalled SuperUser, and flashed the file I had on hand, which is SuperSU.
Worked like a charm and everything is working.
Got an "update available" message this morning, which was for SuperSU. Updated, and all is well.
Thanks again!

[Q] How to upgrade stock ROM/Firmware with rooted/CWM Phone?

Hello,
I have rooted the Galaxy Notes SGH-i317M, and install the CWM recovery.
The question is how can I do the stock update, for custom ROM it's look easy just ue CWM. I tried to search for the answers for the last few days, but nothings is conclusive?
1. I have tried with ODIN Mobile, while it was able to keep the root (with everroot), it lost the CWM (it sent back to stock recovery), so I have to reinstall it
2. With Desktop ODIN, then the root and CWM is gone, so have to reinstall it (both ODIN and CWM) and restore apps/data though a backup (like titanium backup)
And a side question is there a site that I can download the OTA update or I have to wait it push to the phone and don't install it, and follow this procedure?
Download the OTA package
Open it on your computer, and delete the recovery folder from inside the .zip file
Place the zip file on the root of your SD card
Unless you're able to mount the system and edit file permissions while in recovery, install OTA Rootkeeper from the market and run it
Reboot into CWM and make a backup
Flash the OTA package you put in your sdcard folder in step 3
Reboot, rerun OTA Rootkeeper, or chmod 4755 /system/bin/su while in recovery then reboot

If you can find one from a your rom on this site you could push through adb.. but if you can't then no.. With no custom recovery or back up of that file there is no way..
Do you have a way of refreshing your stock rom? If so do that
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda app-developers app
Yep, your choices are custom recovery (which also requires you to unlock your bootloader), and you can make a flashable zip with the services.jar file you need or reflash the entire stock rom. Lesson learned: don't make changes to the system without having a custom recovery and a backup.

Help!? Removing the Root from a stock ROM zip?

So I spent hours searching for the stock ROM for my HTC Desire 300, so that I could unroot it. Then I deleted the entire OS/Rom by mistake and was left with a brick. Finally, I managed to find this stock version. It's rooted, and has the same SuperSu error about updating. Is there any way for me to remove the root files from this zip? so that the phone won't be rooted when I flash the rom? Which files would I remove?
In the Zip I have the following items:
META-INF (Folder)
Boot (Disk Image File)
Recovery (Disk Image File)
System (Disk Image File)
Trust me, I have searched for hours, there is no stock ROM for the 300 without a root =/

The app SuperSu can do this for you. Go into Settings in SuperSu, scroll down to CLEANUP and you can find there Full unroot. So, just flash the rooted rom, and unroot from SuperSu

[Q] How do I remove ChargerPluggedIn.ogg? [SOLVED]

Hi,
I'm using the last Envi-ROM based in stock 23.0.1.A.0.167 and I would like to disable the charger plugged in notification so I tried to remove ChargerPluggedIn.ogg from /system/media/audio/ui but it says that it's an only read file and I can't do it. I'm root and I tried with RootExplorer, ES File Explorer, ADB (mv, chmod,...) but I'm not able to change the permissions neither the file nor /system folder.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance
So i just changed the permissions of that file with rom toolbox lite to 777 without issues. I also moved it up a directory without issue. Maybe try that app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/...+lite&pcampaignid=APPU_EaWoVMe9Nce7mwWlnILYCw)
If you still have issues why don't you backup your phone and redownload envi-rom zip. Open the zip and navigate to the file and delete it. Then install that moded zip file and restore your data from the backup?
You can try to remove this file via file explorer in recovery, like for example aroma explorer.
Sent from Xperia Z2
Nope no good. Could only see /system/bin/ no other directories.
Thanks a lot for your comments. I tried toolbox with the same result as the previous tries. With aroma explorer I can only access to /system/bin/. So no luck for the moment. It seems that the only solution is install again the ROM without the file, but I still looking for other alternatives first.
