Trying to flash my Android Tablet [Local Philippine Brand, Torque Droidz Mini Q] - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Greetings XDA,
I am having issues on my android tablet. It has plenty of pre-installed apps which were found to be malicious by scanning softwares such as AVG Pro and Malwarebytes Pro. Although I managed to remove some of them using KingRoot's App Uninstaller, they keep coming back everytime I am connected to the Internet, much worse, there seem to be a script unknowingly installing similar malicious apps and installs without further notice. I have tried to Factory Reset this tablet several times but the same issue occurs and I can't find other solution than Flashing it with another ROM similar or equivalent to what my tablet specs have. So far, my tablet has these:
- 1.2GHz Quad Core MediaTek MT8389 Processor
- Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS
- 7.85 IPS Display @ 768 x 1024 pixels or 163 PPI
- 5 Point Multi-touch
- PowerVR SGX 544 GPU
- 5 Megapixel Rear Camera
- VGA Front Camera
- 1GB of RAM
- 8GB Internal Storage
- Expandable up to 32GB via Micro SD
- Dual SIM/Dual Standby
- 3G (HSPA+), EDGE and GPRS Networks
- Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Hotspot
- Bluetooth
- GPS
- FM Radio
- USB OTG Support for 3G Dongles
- Micro USB
- 3.5mm Audio Jack
- 3,000 mAh Batter
Running with:
- Android 4.2.2 version
- 3.4.5 Kernel version
- MOLY.WR8.W1248.MD.WG.MP.V10.P11,2013/10/14 Baseband version
- 1.48_20131209 Custom Build Version
Forgive me for having such a cheap query for a cheap device, but I am eager to find a solution and willing to hear any help from this site. Thank you in advance and hoping some feedbacks from you guys soon.

Hey there!
I have the same tablet, and I'd gladly help you with your request the problem is I bought it but it hangs on boot logo. I searched on the internet but couldn't find a stock ROM for this device.
Would you be kind enough to readback your device and upload the file somewhere so I can fix mine with it? I'd be so grateful :fingers-crossed:
If you're not familiar with this kind of stuff I will be helping you with each step.
Thanks in advance !

I found a working ROM for this device ( Torque Droidz Mini Q )
I don't have the original link but here's my pcloud link for it:
pc .cd /BwWctalK (remove spaces)
Password for the file is "kimarth21-droidz mini q" without quotes
Download it and flash it with SP FlashTool 5 ( If you don't know how to, google it or ask me I'll help )
I went through a lot of trouble to get this file, but it's a great device and it was worth every hour of search

Upgrade to kitkat.?

My device broke, got a hardware issue. It freezes and drains battery suddenly without doing anything with it. Tried factory reset, and flashed with stock ROM, but still getting freezes. so, R.I.P. It was a really nice tablet.

[Q] Any help on updating Infotmic Wowpad?

Hi I have an Infotmic Wowpad that has been with me for around a year now and I've been wondering how I could update it.To me its a real brick as its so bloody slow and its battery life is bad too.I want to do a major upgrade to this tablet so I could play numerous games, watch movies and videos and other things like Skype.Another problem is that the old Android Market on this supports only like 5 apps for my tab! .Plz can someone help me update this thing with a easy simple way.I dont even know if its rooted or not and I would love to update it to either a fast and less laggy version of Froyo,Gingerbread or ICS.Some important info to know:
1.Model Number-deb
2.Firmware version-2.1-update1
3.Kernel version-2.6.32.9
4.Build number-deb-r2.1.1561
Thats pretty much it and it would be great if someone helped me turn it into a daily device as I have seen many reports on the net that this device can turn out amazing.
Thanx for reading and hopefully i can change this tablet as soon as possible.

i dont find any gb or ics updates
Btw are Infotmic Wowpads already rooted and should i root it before doing this if it isnt rooted and where do i find 2.1 v3245 coz i dont have that one....

I found site with tutorial:
www.androidtablets.net/forum/gome-f...roid2-1-stable-smooth-fast-unofficial-63.html
But there is link with firmware on megaupload which is closed and i can't find any other site
Sent using r800i with DoomKernel v14 (1.21ghz)
One quick question...is Flytouch2 already rooted, does it need to be rooted with some kind of app?
I can't help u too much with it but i think u don't need root.
As i read from sites (i gave in previous posts): when u start ur device from SD card with rom it should start flashing/copying files so it has installed sth what let u do it and u dont need nothing new (like root)
I can say that on my Xperia i dont need root to flash roms, so its possible that u dont need it too
Sent using r800i with DoomKernel v14 (1.21ghz)
Should i just use the sites XDA have said to use to get android.rar, because androidtablets said if that megaupload didnt work that we should go to XDA's choice of mediafire...another question is this the one i wanted 2.1 v3245?

Alcatel T10

hi all,
im new to android and i successfully rooted the tablet (if anyone is having trouble rooting T10, im more then happy to help), and now id like to put a custom rom on it of course , but the problem is there arent any that are specifically for Alcatet T10. Id like to try cyanogen or AOKP, but they all focus on specific devices and since there arent any for T10 i dont know which one to chose. More specifically id like to know where does T10 fits in similarity or what not with the other models (tablet, phones) and if there are any that are similar can i use that ROM to install on T10. I just need to know if something bad can happen if I use ROM which is not specifically for T10, and if something goes wrong can I return to stock ROM?
any help is very appriciated, tnx in advance
tablet specs are:
Operating System : Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich
Application Processor : Rockchip RK2918
CPU : 1GHz Cortex A8
System Memory : 1 GB DDR3
Storage Capacity : 4 GB NAND Flash
Wi-Fi : 802.11 b/g/n
Audio & Video Play : Built-in audio chip, 1080P HD playback
External Interface : Micro USB, Micro SD
Battery : 3000 mAh, 3.7V Lithium
Camera : Front camera 0.3Mpixel
wiki,cyanogenmod,org/w/P1c_Info --- remove coma and put dots
Samsung Galaxy Tab (CDMA) official cynogenmod ROM
what do you think about this one? its the most similar, has the same CPU, and T10 has 512Mb more RAM
a simple yes/no/maybe would suffice
Rooting T10
Hi,
I am at my wit's end. Trying to root the Alcatel T10. Each time I put it in debut mode and plug it in the USB, my pc just gives the "beep-beep-beep" of device not connected. On my device manager screen, the device shows as Other devices | one, and any attempt to install and/or update drivers just end in miserable failure.
In the past I have successfully rooted my Samsung Galaxy Gio, and Pocket, and unbricked my son's phone after he tried the same, so I'm not completely clueless in this regard. I just cannot get my T10 to connect to my PC in debug mode...
Any and all help will really be appreciated.
Since you say you have successfully rooted yours, maybe you can just point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

[Q] Galaxy S3 clone. Please help a newbie who's willing to learn

Hey guys,
This is my 1st post here ever.
The only time I fiddled around with rooting an android phone was more than a year ago when I had an AT&T Samsung infuse. I followed very detailed instructions on how to root it and upgrade it. It worked like a charm and I'm so grateful to all of you experts trying to help newbies.
A friend of mine went to China last month and brought me a Samsung s3 clone.
The phone is factory unlocked BUT
1. It doesn't have the original google play application. It has a similar logo which leads to a Chinese app store.
2. Google mail account application is missing
3. The phone supports only Chinese, Korean and English languages. (I'd like to use it in different ones)
So I need to re-install a good Android version that has all the Android features that I'm missing
I thought it would be easy to find instructions on how to do it it here, but unfortunately I wasn't lucky to find a direct and clear step -by step instructions for my phone model
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300
Model #: mtk6515_ics2
Android version: 4.0.4
Base band version: MAUI.11AMD.W12.22.SP.V14
Kernel Version: 3.0.13
[email protected]#1
Build Number: ALPS.ICS2.MP.V1.18
Custom Build Version: V15.12
Please help!
Is there anybody out there?
Is there anybody out there? :crying:
Hey man,
unfortunately I don't think anyone can help you rooting/changing roms as it's a replica and there isn't a real development for it.
BUT as for the play store you can DL the apk directly from here:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/05/14/download-latest-google-play-store-4-1-6/
As for the phone language, after installing the google play store look for:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale&hl=en
and choose the language of your wishing. That is in case that your phone supports it.
If you mean by google mail account the gmail app then in that case:
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/0...ith-slide-out-navigation-and-brand-new-inbox/
BTW for future references - try to make a search for yourself I'm sure you could've find those in less than a minute
Cheers.
Thanx
Thanx a lot for your effort and concern.
I downloaded the latest google play apk, I installed it, but it wasn't working apparently because "google login service" and "google services framework" were missing too!
So I downloaded them, but they needed to be installed in system/apps.
I downloaded "root explorer" which should help me accessing the system folder.
I copied&pasted the apps in system/apps but a message says "your phone should be rooted first in order to paste" came out.
So back to square1
On the other hand, I tried to disactivate some of the annoying Chinese applications that came with the system using "root app delete", and guess what?
I get the same message that I should root this phone first.
So how can I root this bloody thing???
Yeah that is sounds pretty frustraing..Well I guess you won't find here a "how to root s3 replica" guide and personally I wouldn't try and rooting the device as it could easily brick it.
I suggest you go to the store and tell them that you've got a phone with no option to download apps, or connect to your Google account...
Hope you'll sort things up with the store soon

I wish I could follow your advise. The shop is 4000 miles away in China.
There is a google store app installed, but it's fake. It has a similar icon but with different proportions. The problem is that it's in Chinese and it deals with chinese applications.
Oh that is unreachable, but maybe can you contact them via Email etc..?
Anyways I found this thread I think you'll see it much more beneficial than my help as I don't have experience on rooting replicas and it's focused on your device:

This method is for i9300 mtk6575
Will it work on my phone which is i9300 mtk6515_ics2?
What are my chances to brick the phone if I follow this procedure?

If you flash recovery from different device, there's a big chance you brick it
Try to use MTKDroidTools to root it, its pretty safe.
As @lolet said correct, you can possibly brick your phone...
That's why I advise you to ask in the thread I've linked onto, there are fellows there with much more experience than myself with rooting your device.
I guess in the last couple of years I've flashed hundreds of times but only on samsung, htc and motorolas.
Cheers

Hello, sorry to bother you with somewhat unrelated answer, but can you send me a backup of your current firmware? I've bought the same phone from chinese retailer, and it's firmware is modified for china - chinese appmarket is the worst And it doesn't even support google market - it crashes upon launch.
So, could you please send me a copy of your phone's firmware?

I have the same problem with lenovo a269i. I can't boot it after trying to install new rom.
Now it stuck on logo.

Could you please make carliv's recovery (restore) files of your phone and send it to me or put a link?
maybe you have already installed android 4 on on your phone?
please help ... :crying:
I have a Lenovo A269i bought from here (now sold out):
lelong.com.my/lenovo-ideaphone-a269i-dual-sim-1ghz-processor-3-5-inch-satugadgetdotcom-142728589-2014-04-Sale-P.htm
Take a look. I believe it's already rooted and can also use the Play Store but I'm not sure since I only use it as a MiFi hotspot device. If it's the same phone as yours then I can help create a backup rom and post it here, provided you list down all the steps I need to do to create one using only free tools. Safely. I'm not risking my MiFi device.

I claimed for warranty & now its ok. Actually what they said that the 'Scatter' file of Maximus-IX is not yet available in the Internet. We can find similar scatter files for few China phones, but those are of no use. I already Tried. Even I tried to create a Scatter file. Though it was created successfully but it was of no Use, As it is not the full description file for IX.
By the way, How you have rooted it???
Once I used a Chinese Rooting Software I was only partially successful....
So, plz share your findings...
