after that, if you want to change kingroot to super su, u can folowing this:
download this file http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=3333295&d=1432683529 and extract to internal sdcard
install app "Terminal Emulator" from ch play. open it and type "su" for root permission, then type "sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh", wait...
Reboot your phone, and finaly your phone get root with supersu.
So its a way to root Xperia C4/C5. Can anyone make recovery for C4/C5. Tks alots

It's Work my E5333 rooted.

I was able to root my E5506 (Wind Mobile) with or without USB debugging on. I tried both ways and it works using the latest Kingroot 4.8 app. It might reboot in the middle of rooting but just continue after the phone reboots. if it fails just try to root it again and it should work after a few tries.
I managed to install Titanium Backup Pro, Busy Box without any issues.
Note: If your Titanium Backup won't allow you to backup in your sd card, just download the app in the play store called SDfix. This app should fix your sd issues in TB. [emoji4]
If you flash a firmware using flashtool you will lose root so you'll have to re-root.

Nice, I'll try to change the root manager to SuperSU. Thanks for the info!

let me know if you manage to make it work. I tried to switch to super su but I keep getting error on su binary when it tries to update

OK Root C4
In my C4 I run until the fifth attempt. Xperia c4 5306
Fine...

After rooting can i use flashify to flash custon recovery? There's a custom recovery for C5 ultra by Bigrammy.

if your bootloader is unlocked you probably can install a custom recovery. my phone's bootloader is still locked just was able to get root access.

Doesn't biggrammy's custom recovery method address' this fact? It may show as "secure = yes" but recovery can still be flashed.
Quote:
following info from Sony my phone stated “NO” and as you can see the bootloader info said secure = yes but been a I went ahead anyway and here is the weird and lucky for us thing.
After I unlocked it I got (bootloader) secure = NO from fastboot but the System software still reported Bootloader unlock allowed = No
Nothing tripped no warranty warnings nothing it’s like the system never even knew sweet.

Success changing KingRoot to SuperSU!
Just follow the rules precisely as are mentioned in the following post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-lg-g3/general/replace-kingroot-superuser-guide-t3251013

Oh yeah! Confirmed Kingroot to SuperSU is a success here too! Thank you pablo_xperia for sharing that link [emoji4]
I don't know why it didn't work for me the first time I rooted my phone but this time definitely worked like a charm.

Yes I understand that bigrammy did mention in his thread that some may show "secure=yes" but recovery can still be flashed. I am just worried about mine being a carrier bought phone not being able to flash the fotakernel. I don't want to screw up my phone just yet. Right now i'm fine with being rooted and have superSU installed.

You have to install supersu and terminal. Put wrm dir into phone storage
Follow the commands,
Su

When it completes, go launch supersu and update binary.
Then reboot

Thank you very much.
Will give this a try as soon as mine arrives.. my PC is getting too old and cluttered it'll be nice to do this device from my MAC. Thanks
Will this prevent me from getting the OTA updates? I could install them manually that doesn't bother me , but I had a bad experience when I rooted my nexus 4, when I tried to apply the update manually it didnt go through, it always gave a " operation aborted" message , why was that? Would it be the same if I root my nexus 5?
Will rooting erase my data? I know unlocking the bootloader does, but I'm not sure if rooting does

First flashing steps..specific questions inside. Need help. Thanks

Hello!
So here I go...first trying to root so I need to go back to 532 BUT I cant find one for the C6802 and USA. Even the one in the link that says TW is a dead link.
Wondering if flashing the [STOCK ROM] [FTF] Xperia Z Ultra (C6806) 14.1.B.1.532 "US Retail" is a bad idea.
I am sure I will have more Qs after this one but this one already got me stuck right off the bat :crying:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2453921&highlight=c6802
PS I found one for HK C6802_14.1.B.1.532_HK.ftf maybe that works?
Yo!
It doesn't really matter which version you pick. It'll work as usual. And yes, the HK version will work fine, but it might boot up with chinese language. I'm not really sure. Or you can flash the european version for the C6833.
Ok I also downloaded the C6806 US version but I can use that C6833 European version if you think is a better idea.
I think I can try what I have no harm done, then try another one if that one did not work fine. Right?

Yeah, whatever you feel like doing You're only downgrading to root, so after you've changed the CDA and gottten the OTA update, you'll end up with a german firmware (unless you find a different CDA that has OTA). Either way, just do whatever you want. If it doesn't boot or the ROM is wonky, it'll only take you a couple of mintues to flash a different ROM.
Ok so finally ready to try the firmware. I see stuff like Partition, TA etc on the flash tool. I dont see anything instructions to check any of those so I assume I am good to go, right?
Also, when setting the phone in flashmode there is no icon to indicate you are in that mode?
If I understood correctly the whole back up TA thing or you will lose it only happens if I unlock the bootloader so I think I am fine not checking any of those option to exclude but better safe than sorry.

Don't worry about your TA partition unless you're going to unlock the bootloader. It's safe, and flashtool won't and can't delete it. The only options you might be interested in is wiping of data, appdata etc. so untick those if you don't want to delete everything on your phone (but it's brand new, so my guess is that you don't have that much on it right now)
There are no icons or any signs when you're in flash mode. Flashtool will tell you that you're connected through flashmode and that's that
What happens if you lose your TA partition? I never backed it up as I had no root and I did do a bootloader unlock via Sony site.

Gonna try restarting. Still wont install drivers when I tried flashmode...all I see is the S1 Service with the yellow warning icon under Device Manager. Tried with the drivers from the Flashtool folder and nothing. :/

Nice! To unlock the bootloader, just go to Sony's Dev site and request your unlock keey. Then use flashtool to unlock it. Note that unlocking the bootloader might wipe some stuff (again), and if you can't find the root app when you power it on again, don't freak out

Ok so I got it unlocked and recovery has been installed. Do I have to now restore the TA? I ask as from I understood, we backed it up because it gets wiped out during the unlock thus logical step would be to restore now.

You can enter recovery by typing reboot recovery in a terminal app on your phone if you got root. It is a stock recovery so it would not give you so much options as clockwork recovery.

First of all: Pardon me for my bad english.
My phone is Hungarian T-mobile locked. It did the same. But after root, I was able to go to Stock 3E recovery.
To get cwm and/or twrp, we need to open the bootloader. In "normal" way with adb, I can't open it. Even with G2-s update.zip.
If any dev can find a way to open the bootloader, then it's much easier to make a custom rom and the cwm.

You can use this method to work around the SD not being loaded in recovery (install partition wizard home edition.exe and ext2fsd.exe)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2732311
DO NOT format the card when you start the phone, it will not be recognised by the system, but it is recognised in the recovery mode using terminal emulator.
I tried it, it works
Actually no, you do not need to unlock the bootloader, my sola has numerous roms on it, with a locked bootloader.
My motorola had a recovery also with a locked bootloader.
The only time unlocking the bootloader helps is,
A: CPU / GPU tweaks
B: (this should be A) Cyanogen roms
C: other start up tweaks that doesn't require you to run scripts on startup.
So it is (not) really needed to have an unlocked bootloader.

[Q] RE: Recovery Problem

Hi all.. Quick question.
I've just started the process of trying to root my One Max (international) and everything has gone smoothly with unlocking the bootloader etc, and i've flashed a CWM image to it as my recovery, but once i've rebooted, volume down and select recovery, hit power, it says entering recovery but then screen goes off, waits about 20-30 seconds and boots up as normal.. Is the CWM image file wrong? And if so, can i just redo the process of flashing the rom again the same way, or do i need to uninstall this image before i can? Does any new image not just overwrite?
I'm just a little frustrated at this point because it's now unlocked and tampered yet i have no root access.

Go with twrp it roots the device after first time going through the recovery. I've heard of issued with cwm.

The reason i picked CWM over TWRP was because i'm familiar with it and like the UI.. TWRP just seems too basic looking. But my initial question still remains. Can i simply re-run the process over the top with TWRP or do i need to remove CWM before i can write TWRP to the device?

Ok well i'll give TWRP a go. But do i need a specific .img file? Because when i go onto the TWRP site to get the version i need, it only lists Sprint and Verizon for the One Max. I'm on International so surely need a GSM or Non-US variant surely? Or can i just use the M7 GSM version?
Thanks.

Ok, now i've just redone this procedure exactly the same but with TWRP instead of CWM and it's doing exactly the same thing.. Why does it just go blank after saying "entering recovery" then boot as normal after about 20 secs? I really want root access but can't see how i'm going to get it if my phone won't boot into recovery.

Ok.. I finally figured what was wrong.. The .img was too new a version and clearly my phone didn't like it.. So i used an older version and it's done the whole process perfectly. So to anyone else having the same problem, try an older version.
Ok, hang on.. It seems i might not be rooted.. I've installed TWRP, done my Nandroid backup installed Superuser and a few root checkers and one of them said i was rooted, while the others couldn't gain access, same with Superuser and SuperSU, they both say they can't access binaries etc.. Now i assumed once the phone said tampered, unlocked and had TWRP installed that it was rooted.. Is this the case? I have attached some thumbnails of various screengrabs so someone can tell me if i am or if something has gone wrong.. When i did it on my DHD it was never this hard to root..

I also brick my phone, what i did was unlock the bootloader again, connect to miflash, flash the stock rom, wait like 10 minutes, and force the reboot on reboot went again to fastboot, on the folder plataform tools of adb, go to cmd, and write "fastboot set_active a" , force the reboot again (pushing the power on/off button like 20 secs) and it boot

post the screenshots of adb screen after executing command of unlock
Sapper Morton said:
It's not possible to unlock while sys.oem_unlock_allowed is set to 0, and since he is unable to boot into system and allow it; his only choice is to use Emergency Download Mode from Qualcomm, but as stated before, to use EDL, Mi account with proper authorization is needed, as such 3rd party services may be the only solution.

Actually, I was asking screenshots from the PC of adb screen after execting the command "fastboot flashing unlock"

The same applies to my previous answer, as an example, I did use onto my device and captured a terminal screenshot, see below; first I checked if OEM Unlock was possible, but even though it wasn't, I did tried to unlock, just to give to you an output example.

That's true only for EDL mode (which requires authorized Mi Account for this phone).

There is no point he has a locked bootloader we know the issue.
The answer was already commented on the last page.
It needs to be recovered in edl mode but can only be done with a verified mi account. That's the issue it happens quite regularly here and is answered almost every week now.
Very common issue which is why it is important to read documentation before trying any system mods or ROM flashes
