Is it possible to remove call history and contact views from the dial pad screen?
Specifically, I would love the dial pad to work similiar to the Palm Pre where I have an icon that allows me to access my contacts for viewing searching from the dial pad. Additionally, it would be nice if I could configure the preferrence that typing automatically links to a contact searching etc.
I don't think having call history at the top of the dial pad is practical.
Use case:
Someone asks " may I use your phone, mine has no signal".
I unlock and hand them my phone and they can see my most recent calls and contacts? Booooo!
This is private and should require access points i.e. icons etc. This is an area the Palm Pre did a great job.
I switched over to the Galaxy S3. Bluetooth works great on my car kit, but it shows every single contact on my car (Peugeot 508). So every single e-mail address I every used in gmail is shown, even though I limited the synced contacts to my MS Exchange contacts that have a phone number. They show up correctly when I access it through my Phones contacts app, but not in the car, as stated earlier.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. I would love to know how to limit the contacts displayed.
Galaxy S 3 on Verizon: I've noticed something that is annoying and I can't figure out what the problem is. When my phone notifies me that I have a voice mail, I tap on the notice in the status bar and it dials and Verizon comes on and says I've reached something not accessible. But if I go into my Contacts where my voice mail number is stored it dials it correctly. I would like to be able to use the status bar to quickly dial Verizon voice mail, but I can't figure out why it isn't dialing the number I have in my Contacts. Anyone have any suggestions?
Here's the deal...
Use SVoice on my Note4 and say "text this person" "my message" and then "send" all is good.
Use SVoice on my GearS and do the same using the same name and Gear S says that person is not in my contact list.
Check my contact list on the GearS and low and behold, they are there.
Any ideas? I've done a full reset on my GearS & it was working fine when I had my Note2 connected.

I am having this same problem connected to my S5, only for me not all contacts are showing in my Gear.
I attempted to contact Samsung customer support for this issue. They told me that only the phone contacts will show on the gear and synced contacts will not. I tried to explain that all of my contacts are synced via my gmail and not a single one has been entered on my device, but she insisted that only phone contacts will display.

I was able to find a work around. I edited the contacts that were not showing up (I starred the contact) and it then synced with my Gear S. I then unstarred the contact and the star went away on my phone and Gear but the contact remained.
To make it easier I starred the contact in my gmail and hit the sync on my phone, instead of doing it all on my phone.
Can I please ask, if someone calls your note 4 or whatever phone you have connected to your gear s does the call still come though to your watch
I use gear 1 with tab 10.5 s 4G and use this as my phone so u can understand why I use gear 1 to take calls, with gear s I would still like people to call my tab and answer on watch, is this still going to be possible

Yes if some one calls my phone the call can be answered on my Gear. If connected via bluetooth they will ring at the same time. If running in standalone I have call forwarding setup so the call will be forwarded to my Gear. One complaint I have at the moment and have not looked into a work around for is if connected via bluetooth and I ignore a call (either on the Gear or phone) the call will then still be forwarded to my Gear.
Do you have the Tab S 10.5, the Gear S does not connect to mine!!! So I have 2 standalone devices, I only bought into this whole smart watch nonsense because I use a tablet as my phone, so now I have ended up with 2 separate numbers????
Hello Friends & Tech Gurus,
Here is the problem. I have Moto E (xt1022 dual sim) and I have rooted phone just a week ago.
Now, whenever I type any phone number in my default dial pad, it shows 2 entries of same contact.
However, in "People", you will indeed find only one entry and I have checked with few apps to detect & merge duplicate contacts, but there are NO duplicate contacts in my phone.
The screen shot is attached herewith which is self explanatory.

This is quite annoying and I am sure that originally this was not happening. Any help/suggestion in this regard will be appreciated.
