Lenovo A5000 firmware upgrade - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi/Hello to everyone
I have a Lenovo A5000 with firmware build number A5000_S002_150306_8G_ROW Android Kitkat 4.4.2 running on an MTK6582 SoC
Jellybean has been available to my device for already 6 months and user reviews on it have been bad at first but with the most recent version, it was stable and faster than Kitkat. One thing I also want from this is that they have added OTG support as well as the KitKat version didn't really go well with OTG support.
As my firmware has been modified by my carrier, it does not detect the update but my brother's phone (same model, bought 6 months earlier, has a different build number that is unmodified by our carrier) has been constantly notified of the Lolipop update.
I've tried to get my carrier to update for me but they say that only Lenovo could do it... but all Lenovo service centers in my area decline to upgrade my os to Lollipop even if it is under warranty.
So my question is: can i do a readback of my brother's phoen and flash it to my phone through SPFlash tool? and if possible, which parts should I select when flashing to get the same firmware as my brother's phone?

first you have to root your phone. then try to download rom toolbox pro....edit build properties .change all phone number version 4.4.2 to 5.0.2 then save. reboot your phone. then go to try to update your phone and done.....

[Q] Can I update android in this device?

Hello!
I got this phone for free, can I update it to Android 4.2? If somebody can point me to a tutorial (topic), I found several but since I'm new to the mobile world I'm kinda afraid of ruining the device. I think it's unlocked since I can put any chip on it without a problem.
Model
GT-N9300
Android version
4.0.3
Baseband version
DM_BASE_12A_W12.43|sc6820_modem|11-02-2012 17:53:08
Kernel version
2.6.35.7
Software version
6820_2.3.5_C909_hteng_s2_en_V02
Hardware version
1.1.0
Thank you!
PS: It shows no updated available, even after lifehacker .com/5946585/force-an-android-device-to-check-for-a-system-update
If the force update shows that this phone doesn't have a update available. Their might be some unofficial roms which are released by people other than your carrier but this might need you to root and install a recovery on your phone but it is highly unlikely due to the fact that this phone is a clone and doesn't have as big of a user base as the originals.

[Q] I need special help with my Phone :(

I bought htc one m8 from e-bay (at&t unlocked) when I was USA. That at&t apps are really annoying and I didnt get the lollipop update. I wanted to update the rom by myself and delete the at&t apps. And now I rooted + unlocked bootloader and installed android revoulation 5.0.1 lollipop rom. I can't use wifi + I cant reboot the phone (it stucks at white HTC screen). I didn't flash firmware because s-on still. So I need really simple and detailed information about what to do. Can anyone pm me about it or explain in comments?
There is not Lollipop update for AT&T yet.
And if you aren't on AT&T's network you won't get any OTAs either. AT&T is fairly unique in this regard, other versions will update regardless of what carrier you are connected to.
For most Lollipop ROMs, you will find your WiFi is broken due to wrong (old) firmware. Your options:
1) A couple Lollipop Sense ROMs (LeeDroid?) seem to work with 4.4.4 firmware. But if your firmware is older than 4.4.4, I don't think any Lollipop Sense ROMs will work.
2) Revert to a ROM version that supports your firmware. For instance, if you are still on 4.4.4 firmware, install a stock or custom 4.4.4 Sense ROM.
3) S-off and update your firmware "manually".

How Can I Find The EXACT KitKat Version I Want?

Hello All,
I want to downgrade back to KitKat because I HATE Lollipop on my G850M, but I want to get the exact version of KitKat I had before the phone upgraded. There are a whole bunch of versions on SamMobile available. I tried a couple and they are not the same one as was originally on the phone. How can I figure out which one is the exact one? I bought the phone new on eBay in early March, when all those SM-G850M's originally flooded the US market.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

How to read goodix CTP Firmware via GTPAdbtool

Hi,
I had updated Lenovo A5000 to Android 5.0.2 after that phone become very slow due to which i roll back to android 4.4.2 version.
but after that the touch screen become un responsive & very slow.
A5000 have goodix 9157 CTP.
I have done some research and finally i found that the during the Lollipop update CTP firmware also update to 9157_1079 however previous version was 9157_1072.
So when i roll back to 4.4.2 CTP firmware does not downgrade to 9157_1072 due to which its mis matching with Android version.
Can any body tell me how to read the goodix TP firmware version via GTP ADB TOOL.

Lost IMEI from Korean Version 501SO to E6653

Hello,
i had a Xperia z5 Compact from my dad which was an 501SO in Android 6.0 but it had some issues so i thought it may would help to flash it with flashtool on firmware:
Generic Global 32.3.A.0.376 which is Android 7
After flashing Sim was not working i think its because of the missing IMEI now.
Now i wanted to root it for restoring my IMEI.
First of all i wanted to unlock the Bootloader but my Menu shows that its not Unlockable...
Because of this i wanted to use maybe some tool like Iovyroot but i dont understand the tool or its not running.
If i am running the adb.exe a console just runns through?
Currently the phone is running on the Android 7 Generic Global 32.3.A.0.376 firmware.
How can i root it now? Do i need to flash it back to Android 6 or 5 for an temporary root?
