I've just bought Samsung J2 j200h (Lollipop ) ,i want to root it because u can't live without root,
Is there any chance?

Just rooted mine by flashing a pre-rooted rom via Odin. The secret behind this hussle is that the sm-j200h model happens to be the 3g variant of the J2 which uses the Exynos processor as opposed to the Snapdragon in other variants. Rooting snapdragon devices seem quite easier than that of the Exynos. After searching the web for several days I finally arrived @ answer "howtoandroidhack.blogspot.co.ke/2016/01/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-j2-sm-j200h.html?m=1"
Beware, this is for the 3g variant (sm-j200h) only. It shouldn't be tried on any other variant!

If you could build a CWM for this phone that would be amazing!!! But I prefer twrp so if you build both that would be great. A custom recovery is the only thing this phone is missing.

I can test on SM-G130H if you want, but i use this as my daily phone and im not sure if the recovery can mess with the general use of the phone so i probably should wait until you can confirm its safe to use
Sorry for bumping an old thread but did that recovery any good? I prefer TWRP over CWM but only CWM is available so did it with?

I know there was a CWM for it, but I prefer Twrp. Also the stock kernel will work fine with a custom recovery and root

First of all your baseband version should be "XCU"
Then you can flash this firmware http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/47800/G530HXCU1AOE2_G530HSER1AOE2_SER/
After flashing, you should reset your phone. otherwise it will not work. i did these steps and works fine for me.

Omg what is with you all the baseband doesn't mean nothing just download the firmware and your good to go. Every firmware comes with own baseband. I have flashed so many firmwares on this phone from different regions and nothing happend only it had bloatwares...

i've tried this xposed for samsung by wanam on my G925L 6.0.1 without issues.. so maybe you can check it for yourself.. but i can guaranty it works on both 5.1.1 and 6.0.1...

which cwm recovery did you use? I'm on android 6.0.1 dont wanna flash a recovery thats not compatible with it.

You can try TWRP from arter.. this is the only recovery that support MM right now.. As far as i know CWM wasn't updated for so long.... you can select the tar. file to be flash trough odin...

U can use Kingroot or superSU. If u choose kingroot, u must try to root a few times before succeed. If u choose superSU, u must have TWRP installed and flashed superSU via .zip files.
