Downgrade Moto E?? - E 2015 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I got a Moto E off eBay with a google account tied to it and I can't get the bootloader unlocked b/c I can't access the settings screen.....so its currently FRP locked. Is there a way to downgrade the firmware back to 5.0.2? I think that may help b/c when i try to unlock the Bootloader on 5.1, it tells me to enable OEM unlocking but I can't get to that screen....I don't think 5.0.2 has that option so it should just let me unlock bootloader...

Could try flashing the applicable firmware (http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/stocks-firmwares-moto-e-t3113235) via RSD Lite. Since it's officially signed by Motorola you don't need to unlock the bootloader.
However, the OEM Unlocking toggle you're talking about (in Settings > Developer Options) is in fact present in 5.0.2, at least in the XT1527/XT1528 5.0.2 firmwares.

so i guess i have a paperweight then....GRRR....
RSD Lite don't even see my phone

Sorry to bump an old thread but the problem is that the *#*#4636#*#* code does nothing from the dialer. Could we possibly downgrade to an older version with an older dialer???

Yes you can open any app with google now. Just type settings in the search bar and click the link(you dont have to be connected to internet). go to security and factory reset. FRP will be removed after reboot.

Accessed Settings But Still No Joy
Used this method to access settings https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4sQ73IoHQc but still no joy for me.
Trying to switch to guest user just puts you back into primary user, can't access developer options and factory reset button greyed out (XT1506). Hopefully someone else may have joy with one of these methods as I see they do work on others models/firmware.

xt1528 verizon moto e Need help bypassing account verification

So my friends phone is stuck at the account verification screen after a factory reset. The owner isn't tech savvy so he asked someone to setup a google playstore account for him. So when there was problem with the phone and the screen blacked out I factory reset the phone. Everything came back but he doesn't know the google account that was used so now it's stuck during setup. Note the japanese keyboard trick doesn't work on this model cause it's not the same one in the tutorials there's no keyboard settings to view the privacy policy but I was able to get to the dialpad by viewing the motorola privacy policy at the user agreement screen and following the same instruction. My issue is that the test mode code *#*#4636#*#* doesn't bring up the test menu so I can't get to the settings to enable ADB debugging. Is there an alternative dialing sequence for this model? The other thing I wanted to try was to flash a different stock rom on this and maybe the dial sequence would work there. Other people had success doing that on other phones. So is it possible to flash a stock rom from say a xt1527 to the xt1528. My idea is even if the rom is buggy once I can get through the account verification to remove the google account I can re-flash the stock rom for the xt1528 back.
Can't flash a different ROM. The XT1528 has a locked bootloader.

thanks, I was hoping that since the hardware was the same it would accept a stock rom from another carrier without the need to unlock the bootloader.

Same here. I got a FRP locked xt1528 given to me. After wrestling with all known methods I could find, I finally reached the realization that I couldn't pull it off. I parted the device out on eBay. I'll give credit where credit is due. That's the most rock-solid FRP I've ever encountered. I bypassed a new Galaxy s7 in only a few days. That was child's play in comparison to the xt1528.

sounds like i got further along than you guys.
I was able to able to get into the settings on an frp locked xt1528. But I was still unable to bypass frp. Tapping on build did not enable debug. factory reset was greyed out. I was able to enable unknown sources and use chrome to download apks then launched the downloads gui to access the download folder then i tried to install the apks from the download folder but the install button was disabled so all i could do was cancel the install. Its locked up real tight.
I tried disabling setup but that didn't help.
update:
I was able to to get around the disabled next/install button and launched gsf.login to try the browser sign in but it doesn't sign in to google and keeps giving me the error : "there was a problem communicating with google servers ...". then I tried to take over with test dpc but it did not give the option to take ownership of the device but it has option for work profile. I added a work profile and i tried to add a work email and there was no message that the device was reset but the gmail account was not added because of the google servers error. I am hoping to add a tutorial once i succeed. Also factory reset needs root to be launched.
update 2
I managed to unblock the factory data reset in the menu but the phone was still frp locked after resetting through the menu.
Any suggestions?
update 3
I fully bypassed the frp and added a google account. I'll post a tutorial when I can.

SM-S327VL Galaxy J3 Luna Pro Frp Bypass?

I got this phone from a friend who also got it from a friend and its FRP locked. I have ODIN and I have not been able to find any firmware for this device. I seen some paid for but it looks risky. Any details on that? I would take it to stores but they will do nothing except a select few that I'm not trying to venture to. Obviously this is newer OS and stuff so I think it may require a bit more than just firmware, I keep hearing about some bootfile that looks different than the .md5 file or whatever it was... any help? Ive been able to get a quick settings app on it and i can get into settings but not developer options, I can't seem to disable google play services to bypass it, no successful root apps, running android marshmallow ?????

Hi bro.
Sorry to hear about the problem. I know the hassles of getting phones from someone else. You're not to clear on your problem. I assume you cant get into settings and therefor you had to download a 3rd party quick settings app. If possible go to settings and then "About". Look for "Software Info". There tap on the build number until you see a notification stating you are now a developer. Go back to main settings screen and developer options should be listed at the bottom. In developer options there should be an option for "OEM Unlock", turn it on and tr flashing again. If this is not possible try searching the settings for "Re-Activation Lock" and turn it off. Insert your password when promted and try again. If all this is not possible or fails then try Samsung Tool Pro. I cant post the link but just google D3X Samsung Tool Pro with loader. This tool is helpful for unlocking and bypassing FRP as well as flashing firmware, recovery's etc.
Feel free to ask for help
I used Nova for a forced launched homescreen and got into the settings that isn't the hard part. The hard part is the OEM Unlock. Been trying that build number a million times hoping something would do different and no sucess. I already have ODIN and Pro Tools but even they don't have the SM-S327VL firmware to fix this. I was thinking about re-partitioning it with odin... I know it's risky but if I brick it I would have to wait for the firmware anyway?. I cant flash a thing without any firmware. So far I haven't been able to find it on the samsung website or any others. I seen some that wanted money for them but I don't trust it. Can anyone confirm any? HhEeLlPp???
Finally disabled all google apps but I can't get rid of Knox

recover locked LG G6?

Hi there!
I found an LG G6 with cracked screen in the trash. There was no SIM-Card and no SD-Card in there, but it still seems to work. It has encrypted userdata so I couldn't boot it to see if there's any contact info displayed.
I found I could factory reset the phone by getting into the stock recovery and switching to yes two times.
Now it boots but it will not allow me to enter the phone without giving it an internet connection and logging in with a previously used google account. Since I found this phone and was not able to find out who the previous owner was I of course do not have a google account that was used on the phone previously.
I also booted into fastboot but can't do anything because the bootloader is locked, and it of course was not left by the previous owner with the developer option to allow for unlocking set.
Is there some way to get this phone operational again so it can be used for something more than spare parts (minus the main-board)?
Thank you!
Why dont you flash kdz file? From lg-firware. Com . Oh wait if you cant see imei if you cant get inside phone...
Ah, that's an idea, I will try that. Thank you for the tip. Unsure if a stock ROM flash will reset that google account lock, but I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

Does it work?
Sadly, no. I tried a few of the LG Tools.
"LG Mobile Support Tool" could connect and told me there is an update available and I should use "LG Bridge" to install that.
"LG Bridge" won't connect because it tells me it requires an MTP connection and I need to allow acccess to "telefon data" if Android 6 or later is installed (which quite certainly is).
Since the phone doesn't let me in (only shows me the first setup wizard which I can't pass without the google account of the previous owner) I can't enable file sharing or accept any requested permissions.
UPDATE: Ah, now I found an "correct update problems" button in "LG Bridge", with this he started downloading 3.28GB worth of firmware, let's see whether he will manage to flash that after downloading it and if so if that does remove the google account lock.
UPDATE2: So I've researched a bit more and found that what my problem is (phone locked to previous google account) is called "FRP Lock" = Factory Reset Protection.
There are a few guides that show how you can use the accesibility feature talkback to get to youtube which allows you to open chrome which allows you to open the phone app. This allowed me to get my IMEI using the *#06# code.
But so far I could not find a phone app code that opens a service menu on this LG G6 H870 which would be required to follow the FRP guides further.
UPDATE3: haha yes the "correct update problems" procedure from "LG Bridge" updated to a newer firmware while leaving my wifi config I've entered during the UPDATE2 step but removing the "FRP Lock".

The "correct update problems" button in "LG Bridge" did the trick.
The stuff I've described in the "UPDATE2" block was just what I was trying while waiting for the huge download to finish, but it didn't lead to anything. Though it did allow me to get the IMEI by giving me access to youtube, chrome & the phone app.

Question A02S SM-A025G - Google Pay, McDonald's application doesn't work (Root problem)

Hello recently I tried to root my phone, wanting to fix ghost touch, I did something wrong and the phone stopped working, "Only official binary blah blah blah ..." popped up during startup, I decided to reinstall the official stock, the phone started working normally, even ghost touch repaired, I looked at the Root Checker application if I have root, it turned out not, which is all right, but when I want to add the card to google pay or open McDonald's applications, I get a message that the phone is rooted or was somehow rooted modified, what can I do in such a situation, please help me, I tried to install other stocks from other operators and restore the phone to factory settings: _ (
I saw one solution, probably in this forum where someone wrote to enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging then disable and enable again, something like this, but I don't see OEM Unlock in the developer option, I know that with a failed root attempt, I somehow unlocked this option, but I don't remember how and I prefer someone to help me as best as he can, because I don't want to break anything anymore, I just want Google Pay to start working for me
OEM is probably hidden cause your device isnt older than 7 days. Connect to wifi and enable automatic time and date, than disable once done set the date atleast 7 day forward and oem should appear but you will have to lock ur bootloader before you disable oem and if you are running a custom firmawre make sure to backup data if you wanna go to normal firmware
But I use official firmware from some Samsung firmware site, i think my bootloader is locked, anyway do you have any solves to make work google pay?
I tried to unlock OEM but this solution with data & time doesn't work for me.
Hey, when I go to Google Play Shop there is an information that my device isn't certified, I tried to register my ID Device and still doesn't work can It be a problem, because of that Google Pay doesn't work?

before you do this if odin says you are in custom mode backup all your data before doing this. no it wont automatically, first you have to go to odin mode and hold up for a bit until the screen shuts and shows the question (do you wanna lock your bootloader) you select yes once done if you are on custom it will bring up only odin mode before anything thats where u flash firmware, now that should get rid of the root, and then if u wanna disable oem connect to wifi disconnect date and time unselect automatically and go 7 days ahead and the option will appear.
How to check if i have custom mode and what i have to hold up?? please explain better because i don't know what i have to do

How To Guide Motorola G Power 5G 2023 root guide

Currently, RSA does not support XT2311-3 for unknown reason. However, I found a ROM for Tracfone, but the boot works with unlocked version.
Download: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=10620683726822053015
MD5 60f8e629cbe7e969923c07538d6c3c7c
Bootloader unlock required. However, VPN disappeared after bootloader unlocked. You have to set up user account if you need VPN
Note: your phone is wiped during bootloader unlock process. Since RSA does not work with this phone at this time, you may not be able to rescue if something goes wrong.
Note: Titanium Backup does not work with Android 13. You need Swift Backup (pay $2.5 a year to use your choice of cloud service)
You should do it before initial setup. Wi-Fi connection and/or data connection needed for Magisk. Transfer the boot.img downloaded to your phone and patch it with Magisk, and transfer the patched boot back to host computer.
Now reboot the phone to bootloader or fastbootd
Code:
adb reboot fastboot
Flash patched boot
Code:
fastboot flash boot
Press space once, drag-and-drop the patched_boot onto command window, and press enter.
Post process:
Install the following as modules and you should install Fox's Magisk Module Manager
ADB fastboot
shamiko (you can setup Deny List but you don't have to enable because shamiko takes care of it)
Universal SafetyNet Fix 2.4.0
Systemless host within Magisk
liboemcrypo disabler is not required as it plays Netflix fine after these modules added, and it appears L1 on mine (good)
You can complete setup after root is done. Make sure you add Play Store and Play Services into Deny List as well as any app can detect root

Did you purchase your phone through Motorola directly?
I originally ordered a Moto G Stylus 5g (2023) from Amazon and tried several times to get the Motorola site to issue an unlock code. When I tried factory resetting this phone, I got a ROM not found error so I am returning this phone to Amazon. I then ordered a Moto G Power 5G (2023) directly from Motorola. My first attempt at getting an unlock code failed but I kept trying and finally was able to get through the process and now have the unlock code (sent via email).
When I tried to use fastboot to unlock the bootloader, I received this message "Check 'Allow OEM Unlock' in Android Settings > Developer Options". I have factory reset the Moto G Power 5g (2023) and am hoping the OEM Unlock option will be enabled soon. (If anyone has any 'tricks' on getting this Developer option enabled, please chime in)
If it helps, I used instructions from here: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/.../bootloader-moto-unlock-lenovo-motorola-root/
(They have a download for MFASTBOOT, which I did use but I am thinking the old FASTBOOT would work as well)

(They have a download for MFASTBOOT, which I did use but I am thinking the old FASTBOOT would work as well)

I got mine from Best Buy
Now there's a workaround for missing VPN
Get App Ops from Play Store and add sui (zygisk) module on Magisk
Check the list on App Ops and allow VPN on app needed
Moreover, Netflix works after USNF @Displax mod added, added Play Store and Play Services in Deny List, and Shamiko module added.
Mine shows L1 and Netflix (and cable TV app) work

I bought mine at Best Buy, but that shouldn't make any difference. It's the unlocked version for use on any carrier, so it should be bootloader unlockable.
I enabled Developer Options, but I noticed that "OEM Unlocking" is grayed out. When trying to Google this and find out why, I came upon a Lenovo forum where people were asking the exact same thing, and Lenovo's response was that the phone needs an Internet or Wi-Fi connection for 7 days before the "OEM Unlocking" option will become available(?!).
Now, I'm wondering if that's what's going on here, and why I'm getting the message that my phone isn't eligible for bootloader unlocking. I guess I'll see in a few days, LOL!

I know this is weird.
Mine takes 7 days and it's on internet/SIM active
Back then my situation was more difficult because even RSA was not ready for the phone (it says not supported). I needed boot.img for rooting
I think I'm on day 2 of waiting... It's only on WiFi as I need the SIM for my old phone. Kind of frustrating that it's not a more immediate result/change.
Yesterday was 7 days from when I bought my Moto G Power 5G, and I checked it this morning - lo and behold, OEM Unlocking is available!
I don't understand the reasoning/desire behind Lenovo's wanting to impose this 7 day waiting period, but it is what it is. Time to {hopefully!} go unlock my bootloader.

What a pain in the a$$!! I had to keep trying over and over before it would work. It worked the first or second time (gave me the option to get an unlock code), but I forgot to put it in bootloader mode, so I got an error. Then, I had to try multiple times before it would give me another chance to get the unlock code (kept telling me my device wasn't eligible for unlock). Finally got it unlocked, and then rooted!
