Oh my, you must truly be new here.
-Improper title
-Asking something EXTREMELY basic which has been covered at least a billion times in gazillions of guides all around XDA and other sites.
Do a little search, don't be a lazy bedbug and you will get your answer.

im sorry if i upset u.
its not a matter of me being lazy or whatever.
i tryed search for answers, but for each answer i find in there are several different solutions, some mention hidden smth others that i wil brick it and so on, so in my opinion it was a plain simple question, mayby its annoying, that ppl with no experience what so ever in this, and taking ppl time in here, but thought that it also was a board for helping.

Put ur phone to download mode (switch ot off then press lock+home+volume down buttons simultanusly, then click volume up when it asks to continue)
Connect it to pc . Click start and thats it.....
Hope it helps...

[q] help needed !!

Hi all,
I installed a kernel on my phone so that I was able to Root my device.
My phone was booting up and I saw the yellow explenation mark underneath the the Samsung Galaxy S II logo.
There's only one issue, my phone won't start, it freezes at the boot logo and won't do a thing :/
How can I fix this?
It freezes or is it in a bootloop?
If you got into bootloop, check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1108499
see this !!!

It won't enter in Recovery mode,
When i hold down home, power, and volume UP the bootup-logo (Samsung galaxy S II ''With Explenation mark) shows up, than dissapears for 1 second than shows itself again and it's just freezes like it did before.
Now I never heard about a Boot Loop but this looks very disturbing.
I need some help with this.
Jeezus Christ, you joined today and already posted in the wrong section, didn't bother to read or search. So on that note I HOPE your device is Bricked just to serve you a purpose of reading before hand.
However since you are unable to read or search, we will treat you like a child. Your device is not bricked. Turn it off, take out battery, unplug from computer. Put back in battery and press volume DOWN, power and home until you get into download mode. Then plug into computer, start odin and either reflash the kernel in PDA box, or flash a stock rom.
Now this is been covered numerous times, so I will ask again to read next time before you post a question that has been answered 10000x times over.
Also if you would have read anything at all, you would know that you will get the yellow triangle when flashing any kernel but a stock on. There is a way to get rid of it, but that requires searching and reading. Something you know nothing about.

At first I would like for you to tone it down a little bit, I searched down the whole Internet, I just didn't now under what name I had to search.
Since I don't know the name of this particular issue, I couldn't find it on this website nor on the Internet (wich is obvious). So I started a treath to release my question.
Before claiming and occusing me of something, aks me the questions first.
You're judging a book by it's cover and your arrogance blind you.
But i'm not here to occuse people of something or giving them names etc, I'm here for some serious bussines.
Now...
I saw your answer (possible solution) and I wan't to thank you for this, I will give this a try and keep this treath updated.

Every hear the phrase, 'lest you have something positive to say, be silent.'
I'm gathering not.
Sure, he's new. Sure, he isn't supposed to post here.
Belittling him is, I assure you, productive only in YOUR universe.
What is with the freaking attitudes in XDA as of late? If you don't want to reply, don't. No one is forcing you to.
The kicker here: I'm just about as sick of seeing people post in the wrong area as I am about people complaining about people posting in the wrong area.

I had the same problem few days ago.
For me the logo showed up, disappered, showed up again and than it went in recovery. Hold those 3 buttons until phone goes in recovery mod, don't stop holding them.

Yes wishing loss, due to lack of reading. If you notice my reply I did offer help. Just had to ensure he posts in the correct section next time. And as for your phrase you said. Never heard it.
It's called constructive criticism. Bet me he will search before making another post. Otherwise I will be lurking in the darkness.
Oh and don't like my reply? Don't really care.

You are wrong... step 2 says: Hold down home, power, and volume UP. This will enter recovery mode. If you are using CF-Root, you'll get CWM recovery. If not, you get stock recovery. It doesn't matter which appears.
As I said, you should enter recovery

No it won't go in Recovery mode unfortunately.
I think my phone is bricked as I noticed the ''Phone...!...Computer'' logo when I tried to start it up.
Can happen, now It's just the challenge to find the solution.
Perhaps I should go to the store and tell them if they can help recover it.
If you got any suggestion what I should do it would be wel used.
In the mean time I will earch on the Internet and the forums how to unbrick the phone by myself.
Note - I still can enter Download Mode.

Did you have a custom rom installed before you ended like this?
Did you even try DOWNLOAD MODE? You dont not need recovery. You need download to flash the kernel again or a stock rom.
VOLUME DOWN, HOME, POWER until you see the "downloading, do not turn off"
Then connect to odin and reflash the kernel in PDA

No,
It all happened after I installed a costum-kernel (The one that I need in order to root my phone) I followed the instuructions of a Youtube webpage.
I did root my phone before to try it out and it worked smoothly.
After I realised that I could so much once a SuperUser i wan't it to Root my phone again but it all went wrong when my phone was rebooting after I installed the costum-kernel.
I went into Download mode, I tried to install the latest firmware on my phone, yet it failed to do so, so i plugged out my phone, shut it off, turned it on and all of a sudden I saw the *Phone...!...Computer* logo wich (if i am correct) stands for a (Soft)brick.
I re-installed the costum-kernel and the Brick-Logo isn't visible anymore, but I'm back at the previous problem, The Samsung Boot Logo with Explenation Mark freeze issue.
Once I entered Download mode I noticed that Costum Binary Download is set to (Count 5).
I need a good tutorial how to fix this, I'm quite new with the Android (half a week)
Help is well appreciated.

Cellphone freezes at Start Screen

Hello there guys, well I just bought this phone today and already doing a mess with it.. its natural cause I study Informatic so It may improve my skills, Im from Venezuela so the cellphone has to be unlocked, which it haven't yet..
So lets start with all the mess I did, also too I think isnt "BAAAAD" I just dont know what to do at this point..
Well first I started "looking how to root", Cool I DID IT! I did it actually with "SGH-I777-ATTGalaxyS2RootStockZedomaxKernel"
Okaaay, cool... my cellphone restarting, look for the Application to find my "Unlock Code".. SURPRISE! "Code Not Found " AND A PLUS, My Wifi Connection wasnt working.. So I read the post a pretty bit more, then I read "download this Kernel, It will definately solve WiFi Problem".. Downloaded "CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OXA_KK5-v5.0-CWM5" Okaay, my cellphone get on again, and when I touch the 2 buttons at right (The search and go back buttons) It doesnt do anything, YEEYYY, so as I knew I already got a "Powerful" tool, the CWM so I act like a dumb and accidentally pressed "Wipe /System" Cause I didnt know how to use properly the volumen +, - and power buttons in that menu.. Now my cellphone doesnt have /System folder.. at this moment Its on with the "Android System Recovery" I got 4 options..
"Reboot system now" (Wont work, will go till the SAMSUNG S II screen then freezes)
Apply update from sd card (Dont know how to use it, or even for what it works)
Wipe data/factory reset(It will bring the phone to 0, but still not working)
Wipe Cache Partition(? dont even know what the hella is this)
My phone has the 2.3.6 version, gingerbread.. Hope someone could help me before my mom kills me..
Thanks in advance, José
PD forgot to add, the pc isnt available to do anything with the cellphone.. it seems like it even deleted the drivers, or something..
just to forewarn you, people here are about to flame you for using galaxys2root and zedomax to do anything to your phone. NEVER go back to that site. It's why you are in the situation you are in.
Now, I don't really know where to start with repairing your phone, but one thing you should do is read a lot more here on xda.

First try to go into download mode,
Volume up+home+power button...if this not work try volume down instead of up...and let me know
This will help you get it back to factory setting. Read it all before you do anything.

Yes im at the download mode, its working properly!
Jackman:
Okay so I will download the 270mb file that looks to have System, and everything because its an COMPLETE OS..
I will tell you more about it in 37min(120kbps download)
So I will download it, then use odinv3 + cellphone in download mode.. Im right?
Another point for zedomax...epic fail
I would take it as a lesson to listen first and do then.. I wont let a guy who probably did a messy OS, or anyways(Im used to Blackberry Language) brick my cellphone! Im downloading the UCKH7-CL503881 then install it with Odin into my samsung, right?
Sideways guys... Are those "Unlock SIM apps" on Market trusty or untrusted? Should I buy an IMEI(25$) :/ Or could I get those one for free? My cellphone have the simcard locked..
Done!
Now its working again, thanks guys!! From here on now Im going to be careful with my baby and read first then do..
You're going to see me looking how to ROOT and how to unlock Sim Card in the few hours.. Topic can be closed and thanks for so much help!
Hey man, I feel for ya... but you really need to search xda for some of your questions... the answers are there. Good luck, maybe credit will read this in the morning and will be able to help. The guy is an ACE!

[Q] I Appear to Have Bricked my i9100 Please Help

Hi there, I just tried to flash Jelly Bean on to my S2 using Odin. For whatever reason Odin failed and now I'm left with a screen saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again." I can still access download mode but not recovery mode. Neither my laptop nor my desktop will recognise my S2 so I'm unable to try again using Odin.
Any suggestions? I hope it's not permanently ruined because I only got it on Wednesday
Best bet stop what your doing and start to read the many threads about what's happened to your phone. You can fix this but you need to stop and read.

Right, thank you. I've spent the morning trying to find relevant threads and build up some kind of picture but there is so much information, most of which only semi covers my particular situation, that I thought it would be easier just to ask for some help. Is there some sort of guide for this kind of thing or should I just continue my search through the depths of the forums?
Hum....there's like 2 zillion threads about this, use the search button by entering only "kies".

I've actually just got it sorted now. Lots and lots of trying and re-trying Odin, re-installing drivers and rebooting. Not sure what finally got it to work but Jelly Bean is running beautifully.
Sorry about the addition of yet another post on this topic. It's difficult not to try to get direct help when you think you've just ruined your brand new and rather expensive device.
Well done mate. Better to read and learn than to ask and no nothing.

No need to call her stupid.
@ OP tell us what have you tried to flash?
Edit: So you followed an I9000 thread and you flashed another device's ROM onto your bf's device.
You also pulled the battery while it was flashing.
Can you at least get to download mode?
Second Edit: no, you can't, get a usb jig and get ready to have it jtagged.
No need to post again what she said,I read it the 1st time around.
Maybe edit no.3 could maybe hint/ advise at possible warranty.
Maybe include a lame pic too.

Be my guest, elaborate on the warranty, it's gonna be fun.
Go ahead
I think the only hope is to make home made USB Jig....
As long as there's hope...
You can buy it, you can make it, you can tell your bf what you did and ask him if his warranty is still good.
You still got options.

I dunno the specifics of the jig, I assume you followed the thread.
Try this:
One of you must hold the battery (it's almost a 2 man job) while the other presses the download combo (Vol Down + home + power ).
While pressing those buttons the person holding the battery must insert it (at the same time the combo is being hit).
See if it boot into download mode.
If not, start thinking jtag.
Warranty, not an option I presume.
