LG G5 what packaging ? - LG G5 Questions & Answers

Hello, do we know if there will be a Quick Charger 3.0 in the boxing ? because the phone is compatible with Quick Charge 3.0 technology... And the G4 didn't have a Quick Charger after unboxing.

The LG G5, on the other hand, is QuickCharge 3.0-capable. 3.0

Additionally, it has also confirmed that the handset will be made available for purchase via Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Best Buy and B&H. Since it's USB Type C connection and you will get a charging cable, does USB Type C have QC and Non-QC cables?
As for what's in the packaging that will be region dependant so hard to answer.

compatible wireless charger

Hi,
I'me looking for a budget wireless charger for my LG G3 855 Euro version. Can anyone please help me? Will this model do the job without any adaptation? http://xcsource.com/p_detail.php?id=2530
regards
Probably it will.
You can find bunch of them on Ebay.
I have no first hand knowledge of that one. I'm using this one sucessfully:

I'm a fan of this one, just got it, works great.

Where can I buy OEM battery

Hey guys, so I just bought a used lg g3, which looks like its brand new actually. It's the tmo d851 version. I was wondering where I can buy a spare oem battery? I don't mind paying a bit more to know that's its a legit battery and not some fake one. I also wanted to know if anyone knew if batteries are interchangeable between different versions of the g3?
Yes they are interchangable. My T-mo G3 has the same battery model as my Korean G3 Cat6.
Have you tried asking your local t-mobile and other carriers?

OK that's good to hear. No I haven't asked. I've done a search on their websites but they all say out of stock or don't even carry it. I decided to try a 3rd party OEM. I got an anker brand 3000mah battery on amazon and so far so good. Battery last as long or longer than original battery. Probably because its new. Now I'm just trying to figure out what I could get to carry the spare battery. Anyone know of a spare battery case that's slim enough and pocketable?

LG G5 and slimport

LG G5 and slimport
No reviewer site said that G5 is slimport compatible neither phonearena or gsmearena or any others...
So i searched on google and found no info
So i asked LG USA and analogix-slimportconnect ( slimport creator) about that ..
Analogix answered me: YES, its Slimport enable and compatible
LG USA, answered me: we still try to figure it, we are not sure, we will ask superior departement and come back to you. ( i even said to LG USA that LG deutch web site have slimport in Specification, but all others country doesnt say anything about slimport, but even with that they are still not sure if its truth or its a specification listing error...
i dont know why, but i doubt the analogix answer..
Can someone here CONFIRM at 100% that LG G5 have slimport compatibility ? Than ks for help, this question is very important for me i used Slimport with my lg g4 for my work and presentation and to play games too.
Not sure about Slimport, but doesn't it support Wireless Display?
gaming with wireless display has too much lag. unplayable
Haven't used it for anything but playing videos which play just fine so I wouldn't really know about a game.
I asked LG Germany and Austria if the LG G5 is SlimPort compatible, and wrote to me that it is compatible with SlimPort to support the LG VR.

Great news !! thanks for answer
LG USA confirmed me the LG G5 is compatible with OTG USB
LG Germany confirm me that Lg G5 is slimport compatible.
Another guy in forum confirmed me that Austria and germany have confirmed him slimport compatibility
Analogix in their tweeter and facebook account confirmed that lg g5 is slimport compatible:
facebook.com/SlimPortConnect/posts/1695067737403065
mobile.twitter.com/Analogix/status/701467435757662208
I have to say I actually really like the G5's look. From what I've read so far, it's looking to be a pretty kickin' fancy phone.

Yes, but the USB Type C Port is only 2.0 standart, but compatible to 3.0.
slimport with microusb-typec adapter
I'd just like add a little detail to this. I had a Delock slimport adapter for my LG G3, with microusb plug. Now that will not work with LG G5 using a microusb-typec adapter, because, as slimportconnect support confirmed, those microusb-typec adapters don't support "PD negotiation". So you'll need a slimport adapter specifically designed for usb type-c (and it's actually hard to buy any in europe), you can't reuse your old microusb slimport adapter.
I can confirm this works:

LG G5 passed Slimport Adopters program in April, 2016: http://us.slimportconnect.com/slimport-supported-devices/

v10e firmware fast charge cable authentication

After updating to v10e via OTA, Fast Charge only works on LG Stock Cable, no longer works on 3rd Party Cables. Tested on a v10d and v10e device and found it to be the new firmware that authenticates the cable.
Using the same charger and cable, Fast Charge works on v10d device but not on v10e.
v10e
Fast Charge Works on
* Stock Charger + Stock Cable
* Aukey QC3.0 Charger + Stock Cable
Does Not Work on (works on v10d before updating to v10e)
* Stock Charger + Third Party Cable
* Aukey QC3.0 Charger + Third Party Cable
Possibly an issue found in the v10e update which was rolled to Singapore/SEA near 22 Jun 2016. May be rolled to other variants soon too.
10e firmware??Where?
Singapore, was released somewhere around 22 Jun 2016

I'm experiencing that problem too after updating to v10e. It doesn't recognize my aukey qualcomm quick charge 3.0 certified charger anymore. It only authenticate the stock charger. I'm from Malaysia btw...
Any advantages of v10e over v10d? What did the change log say?
Noted, thanks for informing! I actually just got v10d on my H860N 2 weeks ago lol. If you can tell us the advantages of v10e then I might be convinced to update.
anyone knows if this authentication can be disabled or anyway to override?
someone can please provide a download for this v10e?

Maybe they limited the fastcharge for everyon in certain region. Are you sure? I'm Italian too and I havebought tons of oem cables with my lg ?
Updated to V10e-234-10 (UK) yesterday and phew it fast charges with 3-rd party cable and Samsung Note 4 charger.
I've also updated my F700S(Korean variant; SK Telecom) with V10e update momentarily ago. There's literally no problem at all while charging it with 3rd party USB-C cable and AUKEY 5-port QC 2.0 charger.(PA-T1).
Fast charge didn't work with my Anker qc 3.0 Charger and usb Typ C Cable
Sent from my LG-H850 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Anker qc 3.0 Charger and Type C didn't fast charge Lg g5 also Software Version v10d-eur-xxx

How do you conclude it is not fast charging? I have anker qc3.0 charger with non standard usbc cable and have 10d, when I connect it says fast charging....

I cannot confirm this: I got a H850 in Germany with V10e-214-07 and fast charge works with an Aukey Type C cable and a qc3 powerbank from EasyAcc.
can anyone link a firmware surely upgradable to 10e? thnks

Charging dongle

I would like to have two extra charging dongles. Where in Europe could I get these at a normal price?
LG USA offers them for $7,99 each but LG Netherlands charges €46 (more than $50!!) each.
The part number is EBX64129401.
