About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

Frequently asked questions:
The download link is slow, can you provide a mirror?
From time to time, we perform maintenance on our website but we do not authorize any mirrors. Please have patience!
I'm on a TEST BUILD and have this bug, can you help?
Please keep any discussion about test builds in the G+ community!
How can I get Viper4Android working?
Check this thread out https://plus.google.com/+JasonPasch5/posts/6JDRjdL2mKM
Are you coming from a ROM with Layers?
Make sure you remove your 'overlay' folders and perform a FULL WIPE
My battery stats are all messed and reporting the wrong percentage, what can I do?
Stop using another kernel. Do a FULL WIPE and flash the ROM again
Is this ROM CM based or AOSP based?
This ROM is based off AOSP
Does this ROM have layers or the CMTE?
This ROM uses the CM theme engine
Pulse doesn't work with [insert music app]
Check this thread out https://plus.google.com/101146731143...ts/TcSzc61xuVx
I'm getting a FC from the theme chooser, what gives?
This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

Ok, then.. what device do you have, what rom do you come from..??
Did anyone else flash it??
I know @s.sawrav has problem flashing it too, on the other hand.. i flashed ~10 versions so far and only the first one was stuck on "mi" logo, but it wasn't a good build, audio, wifi, fm... wasn't built at all, now everything is ok, or at least good enough for an alpha build.
I can only think of one thing at this moment.. can you please flash my CAF_Rom first, and then flash DU ???
Just for testing.

I was on AOKP which is based on CM when i flashed DU,anyways so i tried flashing your caf rom and this happens:-
What should i do?Should i flash MIUI KK through fastboot, then try?

I encounter the same issue I flash your kernel but it is not booting so I went back to CM13 all is working I don't know but I think we need a more stable kernel or build. I will start working other things tomorrow if I can make a workaround but I hope you find a clean solution for this problem.

Sorry, but is this comment meant to be sarcastic or???
If yes.. then flash gingerbread first, then turn around 3 times, spit in your hand 3 times and then throw your phone in fire, THEN try :silly:
If not... then flash this (caf_kernel) , then from twrp go to reboot to recovery again, and then flash the caf rom.

I'm sorry but there was no sarcasm at all,why would i?I said what i said to know your opinion whether to flash miui kk fastboot rom or not as i thought after flashing the stock MIUI Romi would flash your caf rom and see if it helps,BTW i'll try your method first and see.

I was kidding

You hurt my feelings man :crying: BTW i should wipe everything then flash the kernel(or should i flash the boot.img through fatboot?) and then reboot to recovery and then flash the ROM,right?

[ROM][KK][4.4][SABERMOD] CyanogenMod 11 [ALPHA BUILDS] Ported for i777

This is ported from @infected_ and his amazing work! I have been personally porting his roms for my i777 for awhile and have been blown away with how much of a difference SaberMod and Linaro have made to the ROM. I have ported this rom with permission to share some 4.4 goodness with the rest of my fellow i777 users. I may keep porting future releases but have not decided yet.
First and foremost, I nor @infected_ are responsible for what you do to your device and YOU accept full responsibility if there are ANY issues.
IF there are any issues please don't blow up @infected_ 's threads looking for support because you will find none. Please just do some research first before posting an issue. Since this is an Alpha build, someone may have already posted a fix for an issue your having in one of the i9100 threads.
I have personally tested this rom out and everything seems to been in working order. I may have missed something though so please don't quote me. The one thing I have noticed is the Battery Percentage is not correct.
Rom: Build 11/23/2013
GApps: 20130813
Older Builds:
Build 11/20/2013
Instructions:
First make a nandroid backup (DUH)
Make sure you are on the newest CWM recovery. These easiest way i do this is flash the newest CM Nightly
Once you flash the newest CM Nightly, reboot recovery
Wipe Data/ Factory Reset
Wipe Cache/ Dalvic Cache
Format System
Flash ROM
Flash GApps
WIPE DATA/ FACTORY RESET (If you don't you will get stuck on CM Logo)
Enjoy

I know there was a flashable zip in Wayland's original CM11 for i9100 thread. I am looing at building nightlies for the i777 and believe the source has already been fixed. In the meantime I will keep porting @infected_ 's builds and will see if its fixed in his newest build and if it persists when porting it over. It may also be a device issue.

I was able to flash this rom pretty easily. That's all I can really say for it though.
I flashed twice (followed the OP steps) and both times, none of the sounds work. I'll try it out another time when the sound is back. I'm excited this is finally becoming more of a reality for this device now though.
Thanks for your hard work!
PS- I did make a phone call while on it, and it worked fine.
got this to boot! phone is dead, so can't do too much testing but just wondering how to get the google launcher?

I have already flashed back to my daily driver. I have also ported @infected_ 's 10.1.3v2 Sabermod/Linaro rom. I work two jobs and am pretty busy but I am setting up my build environment for CM11. I have bookmarked all of Wayland's fixed for different bugs and if they arent merged with the main source I will merge them in my own. The main thing I am working out now is setting up the proprietary blobs for the i777 and integrating them in the CM11 source to build with. The problem is there isn't a repo already setup for CM11 so I will have to create it. Entropy has done most of the work for it for OmniRom and I will most likely be using most of his i777 source. This part is new to me so I am learning this on the way. Once everything is setup and I am able to build functional builds I will try to then use the Sabermod tool-chain along with Linaro for the kernel. @infected_ has inspired me to mimic what he is doing for the i9100 and I have seen how big a difference it has made for my phone. I will post the CM10.1.3v2 port today as well. As I said I use this as my daily driver and everything works on it. Including GPS!
Kind Regards,

Wow, thanks @tonyt
You're really pushing these builds! Awesome.
I've only just downloaded AOKP. Still need to flash it though. Will probably try on ROM slot 1.
Currently on Paranoid Android. I was using CM11 for a long time, but after a while it starts lagging, and it seems silly to have to clear cache or monitor everything that's running all the time. Will see how PA does after two weeks or so. But I will be trying your ports out very, very soon!!!
Thank you!
Generated on a RAZR Maxx (XT910) using XDA's free mobile app.
@tonyt I never thought I would have so many choices! Theses are all great. I won't use an AOSP ROM, and all the ROMs you have recently posted are based on or use an AOKP type of system. (They all allow the led light to work with the screen ON, either natively or with the XLed module...)
Currently using the AOSB, and it is running well! Still restoring apps, but this one allows me to move them to the SD card. I loved Dirty Unicorns, but kept running out of space. Keep up the great work, and Thank You!

I'm using AOSB as my daily driver I'm in love with this rom, I'm trying to build and fix all the roms that I can, today I'll post new versions of AOSB and told me if you prefer AOKP or DU, Omni stills downloading because my family power off my computer and all the sync goes to the trash but if I can I build Omni today.
Thanks to you!!
Had you asked me 2 days ago which ROM I would prefer you to work on, it would have been AOKP. That has been the same answer for 3 years. My favorite, then Liquid Smooth.
However, your AOSB is incredible. GPS seemed to work, I just need to try the voice navigation. Everything else is smooth as silk. I will try to reinstall Dirty Unicorns later, but for now, this is amazing.
Keep up the great work, and again, thank you!

Keep up the great work, and again, thank you!

First of all, thanks for your ROMs, its great to have the possibility to choose from so many variations.
My question (sorry if this has already been asked): Do you think its possible to build a cm-12 version for the RAZR? I just checked all (I think) relevant repositories in cyanogenmods github, they all now include a cm-12 branch...

I couldn't build, the breakfast, lunch, and brunch commands kept giving me errors. I am trying to build AOSP 5.0.0_r6 right now. My repo sync of AOSP will be done in around 50 minutes.
@tonyt. Could you try building CM12 just to see if it wasn't my computer that caused the errors?
Thanks.

That'd be great. Tried to build it myself a couple of days back, but Motorola's omap-4-common repo hadn't been synced, so the make command failed epically And right now, I just don't have the time to work through the whole procedure again.
Really appreciate your efforts!

Welcome everyone once again to a brand new Android. Here you will find unofficial builds for LiquidSmooth v4.0 running Android 5.0 Lollipop. Bare in mind that these are currently in the ALPHA stage, so expect bugs here and there and things to be a little off. This is early in development and may or may not be daily driver ready yet. And now, on with the show.

While we make every effort to test these builds as much as possible, we are not responsible for anything that may happen to your device.
We ask that you do your part to know your device and know how to recover from problems before you flash!

Gapps can be found here thanks to @rogersb11
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1) DO A BACKUP!
2) If you haven't prior to this step, flash the Shift Eternal CM12 kernel, then reboot recovery.
3) Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik.
4) Wipe System
4) Flash ROM then flash Gapps.
5) Reboot and enjoy!
Also note that the initial boot takes a good amount of time. Upwards of 10 minutes in some cases. Just be patient when you get ready to boot into the system. It will eventually start up.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
You must be on a Lollipop compatible kernel and recovery for this to flash. Currently, the only one available is the Shift Eternal CM12 kernel from @rogersb11. You can download it here. This ROM package contains the same kernel so you will not have to reflash it after flashing the ROM. Questions related to the kernel can be directed to this thread.
You will not have a keyboard upon the initial boot. Skip through the initial setup process then do the following:
Go to Settings>Language and Input
Select the current keyboard.
A pop up will then come up and you need to flip the hardware switch in the top right corner to on.
After this you can then go through with signing in with your account, setting up wifi, etc.
Please remember that these are UNOFFICIAL ALPHA BUILDS. This meaning nobody from the LiquidSmooth team should be expected to help you if you run into any issues. Bugs should be reported to THIS THREAD ONLY. I will do my best to address and fix them as I can. I'm not a master developer, just a builder. But I am learning, and I will try my best to track down fixes to relevant bugs.

KNOWN ISSUES
As reported by @rogersb11 in his CM12 thread, "If you don't have WiFi on the device will reboot upon going to sleep so LEAVE THE WIFI ON." This is a Lollipop bug in general, and currently has no fix.
SPECIAL THANKS
Special thanks to the entire LiquidSmooth team for building this awesome ROM. I just compile it from source for this device and the ROM would not be here without their dedication and hard work to provide it.
Special thanks also once again to @rogersb11 for his help and guidance and tireless work to bring the device tree up to be ready for Android 5.0 ... Seriously, this dude has coded his fingers to the bone to make this a reality. I wouldn't have this thread up and going already without him. So be sure to let him know how thankful you are for his work to keep this device alive.

Thanks for all the hard work. Just a quick question. I assume this isn't happening to everyone, but Google Play Services crashes, not allowing me to create my backup account. Does the same on the cm12 build.

Hmm. I'm not sure. Haven't had that issue. A guess says it could be the Gapps, but I can't say that for sure though because I tested with different Gapps than the ones listed. Have you tried going back and wiping Dalvik and reinstalling Gapps?

Yeah, I actually did. I'm going to try some other things throughout the day and report back.
OMG, I can't believe there is ANOTHER lollipop build for the s2 . Oh BTW where you listed me as a contributer if you remove the @ before my username it will link me correctly. You don't need that on DevDB. Just edit profect at the top and then it automatically links the username without the @ in those contributor boxes

Yah, I'm having the same google play services FCs. I also tried bpear's Lollipop Gapps and that didn't work either . . .
NOTE: I did have the same problem on @rogersb11 Cm12 build too
I tested this with the 5.0 gapps from here. But if you try it, you will have to strip a few unneeded apps out of it for the sake of internal storage space. I can't remember exactly which ones I pulled out of it, but you can pretty much just use Google Play, Play Services, and Google Services Frameworks, and download the rest from the PlayStore

Got it. I'm really not sure I like how the whole DevDB thing works. Should have just started a regular thread
I may possibly have another build out tomorrow with a few minor tweaks and a little overhaul to the UI. I don't know about everyone else, but I don't like the dark background of, say, the settings app. I'll be working on this and a few minor things tomorrow.

I haven't been able to get a working system. It usually hangs on the boot animation (animation freezes). Sometimes it gets to the optimizing apps screen, but it will hang there too. However, if I do NOT flash gapps, it's able to boot, but then hangs on the welcome screen (it freezes and doesn't accept any input). Between failed boot attempts, I'll wipe everything or even go as far as reflashing.
Any ideas?

Don't bother wiping everything.. Tried that two different times, still having the same results as you. I reverted back to KK and I'm just gonna wait for another build.

Remember these are alpha builds. While I haven't had that issue with it yet, doesn't mean it won't happen for others. On mine, once I got to the setup screen I had to reboot the first time, then it allowed me to skip through until I was able to enable the keyboard. And it worked fine after that.
It will stabilize as time goes by for sure.

I had hoped to have another build out today, but I had a learning curve to get through first. But now that I have learned, should be late tonight or tomorrow. Mainly UI fixes, maybe a tweak or two elsewhere.

It comes with PhilzTouch which is very a custom recovery based on CWM. It will be the right version for you to flash this and also the version and kernel that the ROM will be running.

Was hoping to have a new build posted today, but there are a few too many quirks with it for me to feel comfortable putting it out there. It boots, but there's a few things going crazy. I do believe I can get it worked out though, and will try to get another build done and put out tonight or tomorrow.
Biggest change right now is that I have reverted the Material Dark theme in favor of the Material Light theme that Lollipop is more known for right now. In the future, according to one of LS's lead developers, there will be a switch to go between the two.
Anyhoo, carry on.
My internal storage is not working. Google play services not working. Browser is also not working. Unable to install any app at all. Very nice rom though. Once a stable version is released i will use it as daily driver.

Cyanogen recommends that if you are currently rockin' the CM 12.1 YOG4P or CM 12.1 YOG7D releases, to continue with the Snapshot release channel instead of the going with the nightlies. The latter doesn't offer the same quality as the Snapshot versions do, and is less stable. Cyanogen says it hopes to have a Snapshot based on CyanogenMod 13 by January.
Cyanogen also suggests that if you've used any unofficial CM13 source code, you should wipe it before starting to get involved with the nightlies because of compatibility issues. And if you currently are using a 12.1 nightly and want to flash Cyanogen 13 without using "Wipe Data/Factory Reset" (known as a dirty flash), you must also update third party add-ons in the same pass. According to Cyanogen, this means "if you use Xposed, OpenGapps, etc. flash a Marshmallow compatible version of them immediately after your CM13 flash."
instruction (you are doing it for your responsible)
1) Download the CM 13 nigtly CM13 ROM, as well as the Google Apps package,
2) Using your USB cable, connect your NEXUS 6P to your computer.
3) Copy CM13 ROM and the Google Apps package to the root folder of your handset’s memory. Do not extract either.
4) Boot your phone into Recovery mode by pressing the Volume Up and Power buttons simultaneously until you see a logo, then release all buttons to enter recovery mode.
5) Perform a factory reset by selecting “Wipe data/Factory reset.” (when you are coming from any other rom)
6) wipe cache and dalvik
7) Navigate to “Install Zip from SD card” and select the ROM downloaded earlier. After the ROM is installed, repeat this step to install Google Apps.
8) reboot , enjoy .

From a total newbie, what is the logic behind getting an update nightly with presumably different builds/features or am I missing the obvious??
How long is the CM logo supposed to take upon first install? Sure is taking a llLLonnG time.
Update
When I first installed cm13, I was installing on the very first google stock m6 ROM but after I did a clean + unrooted to the latest google stock m6 ROM, I then rerooted + custom recovery all over again and the cm13 installed fine after the second root.
Did this on two Nexus 6P phones.

Cutting edge means you will always have the newest features and options first. It also means you'll get to enjoy all the bugs and problems, first. If you really need a stable daily driver stay away from Nightly builds. If your feeling bold and adventurous then go ahead.

Is this a 100% fully working ROM? I know on some devices, like the OnePlus 2, it still has some issues with things like the camera and fingerprint scanner, ect... Are there any "known bugs" with the Nexus 6P?

You are joking right? First day of the first nightly and you ask this? No it will not be a 100% complete perfect stable rom. They need users who can logcat and tell them what all to fix for tomorrow's nightly and the day after etc. If you don't know this please don't flash this.....

His question didn't sound that crazy to me....we all know its unstable and in the infancy stable....hence why you may want to know what's not working out the box.....all alpha and beta stage ROMs do that.

We all know there will be bugs, but he was just asking if the fundamentals work fine. No need to be all high horse about it.
Awesome RoM so far. I set everything up but I need to gain root access so I downloaded superuser 2.5.2 zip file from xda and it didn't boot. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
Do yourselves all a massive, massive favor; if you have to ask what's working and what isn't, or you think posting reports of what's buggy in this thread is a smart idea....
Stay away from this ROM and don't flash any CM builds for at least a month.
It's great and all that you're excited but CM13 is literally a day or two old for this device. Yes, there's going to be issues. No, complaining about them here won't help.

And you have every right to ask it without being sarcastically questioned about it...
That stated, it is clearly a new rom on the grid, so you should deploy sound judgment prior to flashing, including backing it up, being prepared to have forced encryption, and perhaps have a look at the contents of the zip prior to flashing.
The reason folks get a bit irritated with questions like this is because users should take some ownership of the process, which means reading prior to flashing...for a new rom thread that is pretty thin on detail on the front end, well...try it and see, or wait and flash after others have tried.
Irrespective, please let us know how things are going if you've flashed.

What he said.
You want to talk about what's buggy and what's deadly without properly reporting them to the cm gerrit, go create a cm13 angler discussion thread in general section please.
This is a development section, hence "DEVELOPMENT".
I've been checking get.cm daily since getting my 6p. I'm on the Verizon network, and will copy logs to help with issues.

Well, I was going to ask like some of the others...kind of the same type question. Is there a stable version out. But I assume not from all the responses in here. Looks like the CM ROM just started. I personally will wait on the first stable version...I don't like all the bugs and/or crashes

AICPAndroid Ice Cold Project
AICP is known by everyone as Ice Cold Project that started on Desire HD and since then evolved into a mature ROM with the BEST community you can find!!!
Until Lollipop, Rom has always been AOKP based. Unfortunately, since AOKP either stopped development or will make a comeback later this year, we changed our base to CM when it comes to hardware, drivers and some features.
If there are any bugs, either we will sort them or CM team if it concerns their modifications. This rom isn't CM supported so no need to report errors or bugs to them!!

You tell...
ROMS should contain everything you need to enjoy Marshmallow. You are not required to install any Add Ons, simply download the latest ROM, gapps, flash it, and go!
You are STRONGLY recommended to fully wipe your device before flashing, and if possible avoid restoring system apps and system data with Titanium Backup - these can cause stability issues that are very hard to debug. If you believe you know what you're doing - then fine, go ahead, but please don't complain if you experience strange behavior.
How to flash:
Don't do it if you don't know it
ROM has gapps persistance in between dirty flashes
KERNEL:
Kernel in this rom follows CM source with custom additions.
PREREQUISITE FOR OTA:
To be able to flash over OTA app, TWRP recovery is needed.
You can still use CWM and OTA app, but only to download zip file and flash it manually from within recovery. Zip gets saved under AICP_ota folder on your internal SDcard.
If you want to contribute to the AICP or wanna see what is being worked on/merge feel free to visit our gerrit, link is at the bottom!!!

No you don't need to do anything if you've already done the partition swap. I would make sure I am on MDMowers TWRP and you should be fine, don't dirty flash the ROM do clean flash only.

Thanks bro but with clean flash you mean wipe everything and then install ROM then gapps .?
And g apps suppose to be arm>6.0>aroma right?

Yes, backup your stuff and wipe everything. And yes, you can use aroma if you'd like.
Any Specific Baseband?
Beeko, Is there a specific baseband/radio version for this ROM? I'm coming from PACROM 5.1.1 and the baseband that IT requires is installed. When I clean-flashed and booted phone into this ROM, I had no connection/wireless service. I'm going to attempt it again today and check out more possibilities I may have missed. Thank you for keeping this phone relevant and up to date.

I'll have to test when I get home, I don't think there were any new basebands so I'll look when I'm home.
Seems I can't get Verizon APN to show. I'll check the build and make a new one tonight/tomorrow

That is what I am seeing too, something like "apn not available for this user" or something similar - It won't allow me to add APN info.

I'll be looking at it tonight/tomorrow. I've got some stuff for another device that I have to fix first tonight.

As I said before, thanks for publicizing your interest in keeping this phone model "flowing". You have a donate paypal? I'll toss some bucks your way, since I have been using PacManRom, and now hearing from you about this...interactively. Glad to see people squeeze all performance out of (unsubsidized) 600.00 dollar pieces of gear, instead of contracts, latest and (perceived greatest) phone "upgrades".

I'm not accepting donations personally but thank you. I've been busy with other devices so I've kinda left this one in the dirt. But I'm gonna see what I can do for it here this next week or so.
New build in OP. Hopefully got the RIL problem fixed.
ROM update in OP, along with fixed RIL. Wasn't sure if it was working last build, tried with my SIM and it works fine.
Just wanted to pop in and say thanks for this ROM. It is really a great ROM. Super smooth and stable. It is not my main phone anymore but every now and then I switch to it for awhile for some reason. Not sure if it's the smaller size or the nostalgia (was my first smart phone), but I just can't seem to get rid of this phone. Was using your PAC Rom up until now, but it's good to get it updated to an MM based ROM for when I do use it.
Decryption Issues
Hi
when i turn on my htc it asks for a password..
could you provide it.

Thank you, again. The phone is like brand new with this Rom. No loggers, no adware shows up. Great having adaway built in. This Rom makes this old phone sooooo smooth, runs cooler, battery seems managed better. I'm not a fan of android coaxing me to format my SD to it, but I did (backed the contents up to Pc) so the phone has 32 gigs mem. Again, THANK YOU!
The only bug I have found so far, Is turning off mobile hotspot hangs, unless I restart, hotspot stays on. Sometimes I can get it to turn off if I tap hotspot settings or mess with wifi power button bar. On Pacman Rom, what fixed it for me was "allow wifi scanning even when wifi is off." I'm looking for similar settings to see if that does the trick.
Many Thanks Beeko!

Thanks for this rom, just posting this info for others who may want to know what it can/can't do.
I had a little trouble deciphering the conversion from stock to the swapped CM11/12 version ( I first tried what the page describes as for CM13 roms, but ended in boot loops with logcat choking on /data/media permissions)
ROM runs great. I had forgotten the issues with trying to get too many apps on the PacRom with stock partitions.
Data/cell seems fine, video playback excellent, it now makes for a nice portable media player.
I don't have it activated, so cant comment on the hotspot issue mentioned above but Bluetooth has issues.
Can turn on and see other devices, but I get the message "cant communicate to xx:xx:..." when trying to pair to a known working speaker.
A minor flaw in an otherwise great ROM.
Thanks for developing it.
edit: on a whim, I initiated pairing to my speaker, flipped the speaker's power on/off, and immediately the phone changed the mac address of the speaker to it's identifying name, and a pairing request popped up. Pairs successfully.
